Rude staff, poor quality food and unwelcoming manager who threw away my parcel that was wrongly delivered despite the fact that I only live next door

The coffee was fine and the bakery selection seemed nice but the main menu said to ask for the vegan one but when asked the staff looked confused and semi offended. Left feeling like the menu gaslit us

main menu led us to believe we should ask for a vegan menu. said vegan menu was nonexistent. disappointing.

On appearance it looks great and we were initially welcomed and accommodated quickly with seating. However after ordering our drinks and food the experience was poor in terms of food and service. Both Drinks & Food arrived late where porridge was missing its fruits and seeds ( as stated on menu) Had to request multiple times which arrived after 15minute wait and Egg florentine served with overcooked poached eggs which they replaced then with cold hollandaise sauce. For an establishment that wishes to pride itself in high end clientele this was surely not the experience we received. We were compensated with no service charge and some discount but overall we just wanted good food and service.

Really disappointed. Was looking forward to trying this place but the food is average and overpriced. Ridiculous prices for some takeaway deli items and the food wasn’t particularly great. There are so many local cafes that are far better for value and service.

Waited for 4 minutes without any one asking for my order, i walk up to the til and I am basically ignored. The table I was sitting at was dirty and so asked if they would be able to clean up, I was told I would have to wait a total of 5 minutes before my order could be taken, and was told it would be the same amount of time for my table to be cleaned. I’m sorry but this is unacceptable, bearing in mind that there was no customers there besides 4 whom had already been served, I felt I was being treated like a second class citizen. I came in attire that could be said to be urban, and I noticed how this fed into the treatment I received from your colleagues who seemed to assume I was some sort of Delivery driver, I work in finance and let me tell you, this is not the kind of service you would receive in the city, nor in the area, there are a number of local businesses I frequent and support because they understand customer service and appreciate my custom, it’s sad to say I will not be extending my patronage to Baker and spice, IMPROVE YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE, the food isn’t free your coffee isn’t free, people are paying money, and with the footfall I saw while I was in there, I don’t think you’re in a position to turn away business

So sad to see the previously bustling and delightful place empty. Perhaps because it has banned computers for months. At a time when customers could not go to their offices (due to Covid regulations) and would especially have appreciated time at the cafe with their computers. Ironical, that the only person sitting in Baker & Spice was on her computer - was she soon to be admonished by staff? I had, months ago, explained to the new management that many regular customers use computers whilst at Baker & Spice and regularly order drinks and food. If there was concern about any customer abusing the cafe's hospitality, then a member of staff could raise it discretely with the customer. Baker & Spice was a wonderful place to dine and drink in (despite various drawbacks). Let's hope it allows computer-using customers back and the business begins to flourish.

This place could be great. Sometimes the food is really lovely but more often than not now, it is just diabolically bad. £3:50 for a side of mushrooms - we got 1 small mushroom cut in half. I thought it was a joke. The poached eggs were stale. The eggs, ham and muffin on the eggs benedict were all stale. The poached eggs on the side were covered in sloppy water and yet still stale. What amazes me is that the chefs are arrogant or ignorant enough to allow that level of food leave their kitchen. Avoid like the plague.

I think the chefs here must just be lazy or don’t care about their work. I’ve been going to this place a long time and the food quality is ridiculously inconsistent. I ordered poached eggs recently, they came covered in water and totally uncooked, so they were a sloppy mess. I’ve just ordered eggs benedict. I don’t know how you make a muffin taste that disgusting, but it was so disgusting that I had to nibble it a few times just out of sheer fascination and to try and figure out what it was. Stale? Poor produce? Off? No idea, just mind blowingly disgusting and my girlfriend and her friend agreed with the same confusion of “how?!”. On top the poached gags were undercooked again. I also had a side portion of Cumberland sausage. These came unacceptably and probably dangerously raw. One side of them had been cooked lightly, the other sides were totally uncooked. How a chef can look at those sausages and think “I’ve done my job well” is beyond me. I really keep trying to like this place because a couple of times in the past, the food has been good and I’m also very local, but it seems to be consistently bad now. Once again, I’ve just thrown away around £30 of food because it was inedible. Absolutely disgraceful.

Just enjoyed B&S in the evening (via deliveroo) - Wow. The turmeric hummus and aubergine caponata with burrata were incredibly flavourful. The chicken livers zesty but not overpowering. The sea bass crispy and delicious. Thanks for the complementary coffee beans too. We’ll be regulars!

This is another place I keep coming to for a very long time when I feel treating myself to one of their gorgeous patisserie items - which are always so overpriced, when you could pay a fraction at the supermarket across the road!!! As they are located on the the main 'village' road, as it used to be a 100 years ago, they attract a good clientele especially at the weekend or whenever the weather is very nice and you feel like sitting outside. Inside there are lots of seating places at the window or proper tables and the staff can be either nice.... or stressed. Not in a hurry to go back though.

I had breakfast here with friends on a Saturday morning recently. This restaurant seems to have gotten a bit carried away with their Deliveroo business, because the in-restaurant experience was poor. Apart from the constant coming and going of guys in motorcycle helmets picking up orders from the counter, the service was distracted and rushed. We waited ages for our food to arrive, and when it did they had forgotten half the dishes. The quality of the food was fine, but the overall experience was poor. Shame, because this used to be a good place.

Prawn salad's prawns meaty and dry, a few days old. Teriyaki salmon dry. On the plus side avocado salad was lovely. Granted it is the holiday season, but I expect better of Baker & Spice.

Having been a local regular bi-weekly customer for the last 6 years I was shocked and appalled to witness the total disregard for hygiene standards earlier this week. On dec 10 at 5.02pm , your new team member sprayed WINDOW CLEANER onto the glass of the fridge FROM THE FOOD SIDE OF THE GLASS WHILE THE SALADS WERE ALL STILL THERE! I took a photo of this as she was about to close the glass. Her colleague didn't even flinch. Stating the obvious, this left an extremely bad impression and makes one wonder what are the other hygiene standards and practices in your restaurant that we are not able to witness first hand. I also note that you haven't had your food hygiene ratings updated since JANUARY 2015! I checked on the council's food hygiene site. We looked in horror as the airborne droplets of window cleaner fell onto all the salads. This is completely unacceptable! You have many young families and vulnerable elderly who frequent your establishment. THIS IS NOT OK!

Mientras estábamos en Little Venice estábamos buscando un lugar para tomar un café. En lugar de buscar una cadena múltiple, notamos a Baker & Spice al otro lado de la carretera. Mientras esperaba el café, noté la gran variedad de ensaladas frescas en el mostrador del refrigerador. Hay una muy buena selección de opciones veganas y sin carne y no nos decepcionó nuestra selección de chirivía y calabaza asadas frescas a las ensaladas de judías verdes y soja. Servicio realmente amable, sin duda volveremos a visitar.

Lovely pastries! This little place in Maida Vale has charm and lots of treats. My personal favourite is the almond croissant with a cappuccino!

I am moving in few weeks and suddenly, while sitting there as most Sundays reading my book and enjoying my coffee, realised that I will miss this cafe, not only their nice coffees, delicious avocado salads and poached eggs, but the coziness and friendly environment and staff

There is a blond lady he service is very bad and at the same time is very rude to the customers. Like she is demanding. I went yesterday for a breakfast to meet with a friend so I arrived before my friend, anyway I ask for a table for two or two seats she came and she told me that these ppl are waiting before I said that fine good and sorry I just need for two and the other ppl wanted for four. Then I told her I can share two seats in the table inside with others she said no these ppl are before I said ok but they are four she said no. Then I went to the big table next to the door so I found two seats just ppl are leaving and then she came running no no no, you can go to the one inside I told her the one that you told me no at beginning and came running to me saying in a very Loud voice no she said I said now you can I said sorry it’s not like you want is like the customers wants I will set heat near the door and she told me I am rude . What kind of service is this ??what kind of waiter is??? And she didn’t even came to take the order or anything and she was looking so angry to everybody. What a bad and poor service and what kind of waitress are they bringing all mass she moves this to there and that to somewhere.

At the corner of 2 streets with some tables outside, this small restaurant is ideal for breakfast or cup of tea. The food is good but sometimes the eggs are not cooked perfectly. Service is quite bad, specially if you are outside! Good choice of breads.

A nice offering of fresh and delicious food with a great staff to help you. The salads are outstanding as well as the meat/protein offerings. I ate here twice in December, twice in May 2019 and also came back one evening for takeout. Highly recommended.

Decidimos ir a tomar un té / café y pastel en un paseo. El pastel de nata era mejor que el que tenía en Lisboa y mi esposa tenía un pastelito de naranja / almendra muy agradable. Hubo una larga espera para las bebidas y pensamos que tendríamos que irnos. Resultó que la máquina había empacado, pero finalmente la pusieron en funcionamiento, por lo que, aunque no fue su culpa, arruinó ligeramente la visita.

Since the new owners took over the Chelsea branch the toilets have no soap the waiter brings the porridge with his finger in the food and the coffee is badly made weak and warm. I will never go to this place again ..

My husband and I are in London visiting family and we have struggled to find decent coffee until we stumbled across Baker & Pice in Maida Vale. It’s expensive at £3.20 for a standard size cup but worth it for a very nice coffee. Their salad selection looks appetising but I believe it’s also expensive at £2.50 per 100 grams.

This place is always on our agenda when we stay in this part of London. Fresh Danish pastries for breakfast, served with a smile.

Besides fresh food you can get anywhere else one must say their is no dignity in this place. People that work there are being psychologically harassed by the management itself. They work in constant fear and humiliation. The kitchen team is working in fear as well and being talked in a very rude manner by the management again. The tips you may wish to leave are not worth the service being given, and are not being shared with the team. So spare yourself your money and go spend it somewhere else! Disgusting..

The brunch is really good but the waiters are rude and we had to wait for 30min for our food to come. We even had to wait for 10 mins for a simple coffee. This place really needs to work on its logistics because its a real shame

Tiny portions and cold. When we complained the manager had no customer service. Plenty of other coffee shops that are so much nicer on the Rd. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!

The coffe has tables both inside and outside (which are really nice specially during summer). I went to breakfast twice and I was always very exited. They offer a big variety of croissant, cakes muffins and sweet dishes for breakfast as well as a many dishes and salads for brunch. I have honestly only tried the chocolate and pistacchio croissant and chocolate cakes which were all fantastic. However the service is usually very slow and the price is too high. I recommend it if you are looking for a slightly more elegant place than a classic coffe shop.

If you are in Maida Vale this hot summer, this is a great cafe/restaurant with amble tables on the pavement. Coffee was very acidy, and my almond croissant was as hard as wood. Hopefully this does not happen every day.

The coffee and cake were very good. The service very disorganised and ended with us having to wait at least 20 minutes to get served. Bear this in mind if you decided to go.

I've ordered yogurt&berries; Pancake, when it served on the table i was so shocked, the pancake is not fluffy and very small, just have some blueberries around the pancake, i remember last time i ordered the same dishes, it present really well and they have strawberry and blueberries.....and they forgot to serve the yogurt too, i asked the staff i've miss the yogurt, the service was really bad and they're so slow, i don't think they have a good organize on staff. The food just not worthy the price....

Wonderful atmosphere , the coffee and food outstanding. Wholesome, organic and fresh. The staff are really friendly and helpful. My favourite !!!!

Super slow! 25 minuets for 1 latte! Lot’s of waiters all around the caffe without management! It’s a shame that it was one of my favourite spots but ruined over the time.

I consider Baker & Spice in Maida Vales my local cafe whenever I’m in London. We come here for brunch on lazy days as the menu is very extensive to satisfy both vegetarian and meat lovers. Being a vegetarian the salad bar is my favourite with mouth-watering, fresh selection. My favourite is the avocado salad.

A friend arranged for us to meet at Baker and Spice. It wasn’t a place I knew. A sunny mid afternoon, an ideal day for sitting outside on one of the several vacant tables. It was obvious why the tables were empty. They were strewn with the plates, cups, glasses of the previous diners, and it was clear from the dried up remnants of food on the plates that the diners had left long ago. It took several requests by a few customers before any action was taken to tidy the place up. I went inside to order drinks and food and I was impressed by the array of good things to eat on offer. The trouble is that the first thing I sensed was the lack of organisation, and the number of mildly irritated customers, A group I was soon to join. We waited too long for food, which required no more than being placed on a plate and when it did arrive an expresso that was lukewarm, no doubt it had been hanging around for a waiter to get round to serving it. It wasn’t a good expresso. The blend they used had no body, it just tasted thick with an unpleasant slightly bitter aftertaste. I would have got a better (and quicker) expresso in the Cafe Nero opposite. I have no complaints about the food. It was ok. The place is not cheap. And this brings me to my point. If you charge prices that are higher than the norm the least your customers should expect is clean tables, good service and a hot coffee. All of which were sadly lacking.

Everything looks fresh, the portions are delicious and the service is brisk and attentive. Had a chicken and spinach salad with some giant asparagus spears delicious and cool on a very hot day in the UK.

I live around the corner. The food is okay, service could be improved but the worst part is that you pay on average 20% more compared to other brunch places. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Loads of gourmet selections to eat in or take out. The staff was very accomodating in helping me make my choices

We have visited Baker and Spice three times now, once for brunch a second time for bread and pastries and a third time for an afternoon coffee. Delicious food, bread and pastries, coffee is nice too!

I stopped in for a midday snack and ordered a small single serving Blueberry Crumble Tart and a Latte. Both totally hit the mark. Over the past few years, when in Maida Vale, I typically stop in and have never been disappointed by the great selection of tasty treats and good service.

The food and the sweets are amazing and always fresh : pies with fruits , carrot cake and croissants . However the service is slow and not very helpful . A more smiley environment is recommended :-)

This place looks good from the outside and always seems very busy but I have been to it a couple of times now and will not be going back. The staff are not very welcoming and always seem in a rush and just ignore you. I have had food from the deli counter and it was pretty good but the coffee isn't the best and the croissants are hard. I had a take out coffee today and it wasn't good. Tasted like dirty water! Will not be going back

Enjoyed their sourdough bread. Also the walnut bread is nice. A bit pricey though. They serve a variety of dishes too.

Baker and Spice have a few restaurants in London. They are all more or less the same. They offer freshly cooked healthy food and the choices they offer can spoil you for choice.Great selection of cakes too.Very popular with locals.

Everything at Baker and Spice is yummy from the yogurt and granola to the full breakfast! The portions are large enough for two people to share. We took some of the salad and roasted vegetables to a picnic and everyone commented on the great flavor and perfect texture of the vegetables. Go. You'll love it!

Perfect place if you want to take your computer and spend your time in a nice coffee with good food.

Lovely location and ambiance. Great breakfast menu. Fast and efficient service and good value. Tea served beautifully and nice orange juice. The deli looked great and the bakery cakes and bread looked delicious.

Dont bother sitting in for brunch. You are better off getting take out from this place. The uplift in sit in price is really not worth the service you receive from the miserable staff. The coffee is good so would recommend that and the croque monsieur take away. I ordered a poached egg on toast with cherry tomatoes and avo. It came as a dry poached egg on toast with a side salad of avo,tomatoes and mashed together with onions. As I really dont like uncooked onions it turned me off. I was also charged for two separate meals of the salad and toast rather than just the meal as a whole. Basically an overpriced and uninspiring brunch.

Nice salads, but hot (not so much) food isn't great at all. Ordered duck and avocado salad, duck breast came barely warm, and the table next to me colmplained their salmon was cold too (twice). I understand fridge food will obviously not be as fresh as cooked to order but the least you could do is not overcharge (£14.50 for an extremely average meal). On an even more annoying note - I have never seen such miserable waitressing staff. ALL of the girls look like they've been imprisoned and are really rude, makes you feel bad for those 3 guys there that are quite friendly. Shoutout to the tall Spanish (I think) waiter who was super nice & smiled - the only one. Overall - overpriced & overrated.

No offense to anyone but the brunch experience can not be further over-rated in this over-expensive bakery. As a local resident, this was my least favourite place due to the pompous clientele. However, the staff is friendly and helpful and professional. The food is delicious but a bit try-hard for its type of cuisine (new middle-easternish, italian fusion, al fresco type). I find the place over-priced, over-rated and crowded. Yet I still went there for my usual coffees. Worth a try but do not expect too much and certainly not value for money. Much better independent, local places around of Prince Alfred's Street which is by the Warwick Avenue tube station.

I've been waiting more than HALF AN HOUR unattended. There was no rush hour as people sitting were already eating. Then I left. Hungry. Angry. I handed the menu back to a blonde waitress explaining everything and she did nothing. Management should be aware of this.

Baker & Spice is a great idea badly executed. It's a great spot to sit outside; staff are friendly and the pastries selection is great too. They have refrigerated salads and precooked meats & fish to eat in or takeaway. Cold if taken away, reheated (probably microwaved) if eaten in.I went in September with my girlfriend for breakfast on a Saturday. The menu offering is broad. I ordered an omelette and my girlfriend ordered porridge without milk, asking if it was possible to replace with almond milk. This was confirmed, order was taken.It took an extremely long time to receive these relatively simple food orders. Yes, the place was busy being Saturday late morning, but when you notice two tables who sat down considerably after yours and whom have already received their orders, you know something is wrong. Our food eventually came. Lukewarm would have been heaven. 'Twas all cold. My omelette, toast, bacon and worst of all my girlfriend's porridge which had started to congeal on top. She tasted it and insisted there was milk mixed in. I tasted it and agreed. The waiter was summoned, he was in denial but took the porridge back saying he'd bring a new one without dairy. This never came, by which point my omelette was long gone and in fact almost fully digested, such was the time it took for us to realise this renewed porridge was one wish too many. We were pressed for time, and therefore forced to cancel the second porridge.The waiter finally came back with an apology that there had been a mix up in the kitchen, saying staff had called in sick etc and they were understaffed. I don't believe this fully excuses the mistake. We left and decided no more food at Baker & Spice, that we'd just be going for coffee/tea from then on.There isn't much reason to go anyway. The ready-made salad choices are all very over flavoured with too many ingredients, and although the precooked meat/fish items all look good, I can assure you, they are not. Their lunch items are definitely something they need to upgrade. Nothing tastes fresh anymore, and rather tastes like it's been fermenting for a while in a giant Mason jar somewhere in a vast, dark cellar.

The food looks great and if you are given an opportunity to order it let alone eat it, it is excellent. The staff have the worst attitude to service I have ever come across in my life. They have that ability to never ever make eye contact and are just too busy to actually want to serve.

I come here quite regularly, mainly for tea and one of their excellent pastries or cakes. It has a good vibe, is very popular with locals and is great for breakfast, lunch, brunch or tea. I just wish it were open for longer in the evening.It's not cheap - everything costs more than you would hope - but the quality is good and it's healthy food. The salads are fantastic, but then you pay for the creativity!The service is good and attentive and, on a sunny day, it's nice to sit outside.I find it a useful place to work on my computer, and I'm not the only one. A lot of people come here to read the paper over a coffee or work on their laptops, as well as families having brunch or couples meeting for tea. Recommended.

We arrived here pre-27 show at The Cockpit (go see it! ) Arrived just in time to order, as it closes at 6pm on a Sunday. Not cheap, and no alcohol, but salads really are DE-LIS-CIOUS! Ottolenghi type flavours, huge portions, beware! Lovely flavours and a Vegetarian delight (meat also available!) The still lemonade very good too.

lovely and very trendy/busy street cafe in Maida Vale. if you're in the Clifton Road area (5 mins walk from Warwick Ave tube station) then you should make the effort to visit for breakfast or lunch.

Its as if its a competition - how much can you charge for a croissant in London; or how stupid are consumers and will pay for a croissant. The fact is that this is another very average coffee place with overpriced food that is better suited to a chain cafe. its nothing special but because of the artsy decor and the containers, we get charged large sums. Never again. The service is again self important and perfunctory at best.

Excelente lugar, comida saudável, vale a pena visitar. O preço é um pouco elevado, mas em Londres é difícil encontrar bom e barato.

Visited the Maida Vale branch of this chain of bakeries for breakfast. Ordered a straight forward breakfast basket, croissants, coffees and tea. The coffees and tea were served along with the croissants. There was no sign of the breakfast basket….guess what - they appeared to have forgotten this particular order. Had to go the counter to query where this item was. Eventually, the breakfast basket arrived with 4 slices of toasted bread; the bread was only toasted on one side. Really did like only one side toasted!!! The so called toast was accompanied by two full size jars filled with soft set strawberry and apricot jams – which were in fact very nice. However, I have to say I did not like the idea of what appeared to be re-fillable jam jars. There are sealed, quality individual jam/marmalades pots etc... on the market – which is my preference along with the other members of my family.Before leaving I wanted to purchase some takeaway items from the counter. The counter staff was taking forever to serve customers and the set up appeared somewhat disorganised and chaotic. The staff did not appear to want to seek your attention in order to serve you; therefore we left and went to another well-known bakery/patisserie.Baker and Spice do serve very good quality products which are expensive like other reviews have commented on. An example of this - is that they charge £2.50 for a sit down croissant on its own, whereas a well-known nearby retail outlet is selling an all butter croissant for 83p. Personally, the cost is not really an issue with me, because you know for this type of quality establishment you are going to pay over the odds…..which lead to conclude that Baker & Spice do sell quality products at premium prices, in a premium area but this does not come with premium service!!!

Somewhere which combines quality with a relaxing atmosphere and does so at a fair price. A strong range of salads makes it the place for a light lunch in Little Venice, Maida Vale

Good salads and cakes from the counter although quiet pricey however their bread is really the best in the area.Place get very busy on Saturday and Sunday morning with locals.

We had to grab a quick lunch before heading off to a tour and this place was great for it. It's a nice local cafe without the tourists which means: great food, seating and reasonable prices. The food was healthy (nice change from our fast food!) and hit the spot. You picked the main meal (e.g. stuffed eggplant or chicken pie) and then you can choose your own salad to go with it. Lots of options to cater for different tastes.Wait staff were generally quite good but could be more responsive. It wasn't bad though. They were really lovely and we didn't really need any more from them. Would return and recommend!

We were a bit disappointed that the deli was so full and busy as we wanted to take our children out for lunch. There were many people standing about waiting for tables but we finally got seats. The wait for food was longer then I would have liked but the waitress and manager apologised and made us feel very important. Our coffees were made perfectly and served with a smile despite my demands for decaf, hot, weak etc. A customer at another table asked for ice and one of the staff run across the street to buy some from Tesco. She made an excellent impression as we could see they were very busy indeed. The croissants were freshly baked and still warm too. They need more chairs outside on sunny days like yesterday.

Baker & Spice Maida Vale is a regular for us, used to love going for breakfast on a Sunday morning and for lunch sometimes mind week but this is the third time the service has been so bad that I just don't think it's worth trying again. Waiting ages for a menu, then again for service, cold coffee (that isn't even particularly good), luke warm eggs, cold toast and then being expected to wait in a long queue to pay.Not sure if this has anything to do with them being taken over by Patisserie Valarie??

I wanted to waste 20 mins before having to be somewhere so poooed in for a black coffee.Paid £3 and waited 10 mins for a very weak and tasteless cup of coffee, went there as always pick independent coffee shop over a chain one but ended up wishing I had gone to costs next door.

Our first visit here, and definitely our last. We entered and had to queue for a table, which was fine but not one staff member approached us to tell us how long the wait would be or even to have the courtesy to say hello!The wait only got worse. After 15 minutes, a person who arrived after us was given a table although we & another family had been first in line! No communication or apology given - & no one staff member seemed to know what was going on! They need to employ a hostess to stop this sort of thing happening again. Once we were seated, we were presented with menus by who appeared to be the manager before a waitress then came 1 minute after to take our food order. With only one menu given between the two of us - this was an unachievable feat in such a short time. The service was poor, but we enjoyed our food when it eventually came. It's a shame though as this certainly isn't enough to tempt me back.

Went down with my family to enjoy a nice lunch in the sun. We have tried to visit baker & spice before, but we have been unlucky as there have never been a free table. This time, however , there were plenty of free tables both inside and outside. We got a table outside but there was only one chair . We noted that a sign on the table which said only two guests per table, but a couple of tables had 3-4 guests. I therefore asked a waitress whether she had any extra chairs, which they did not . I then asked whether I could take one from the inside , and she said go in and ask . When inside I was met with an ignorance and a lack of hospitality that I have never met before. They refused to let me have a chair (of which there were plenty) and recommended me to go somewhere else. Luckily , Mollys is just down the road- Great food and service (and chairs)

We had a fantastic brunch with the family of 4. The children were treated to real hot chocolates and we were looked after the staff with great attention. The food was delicious as always.

Perfect place for breakfast, lunch or brunch. And delicious cakes. Definitely will come back with my husband for a lovely weekend breakfast. Nicely served, helpful service. Weekend time full of clients. Perfect for couples, families, friends or single.

I ordered a milkshake but I been told that they dont serve one hour before closing the shop so had to order a coffee. I thought it will be a cosy place from outside but you are not welcome there and you don't feel comfortable staying there with their very cold stuff, I wont go back there again.

The food is good. Salads are almost very good. Coffee is decent enough. I have only ever visited during weekends when it's very busy. Seating is not too comfortable ; I suppose it means a higher customer churn for this Deli. Also service is almost poor. Short of staff at peak times and staff cannot access your table easily.

En visite dans le quartier, entre Little venice et Abbey road, nous avons fait étape dans ce restaurant aux allures branchées. Nous avons pris des chicken legs et du grilles salmon : le goût était bon, bien relevé. On aurait aimé un peu plus en quantité. Les brownies à 3,65 pounds pièce ne sont pas donnés. On a finalement déjeuné pour 54,25 pounds pour 3 personnes, soulagés que ce ne soit pas plus cher, mais il est vrai qu'à Londres on perd la notion des prix.

Extortionate prices. Am impressed it is always so busy. If you have lots of disposable cash you want to burn on some good food head to baker and spice. Everyone I know go here once and hugely over pay for a small bit of salad and never go back. Their prices are bananas. You can get better value else ware.

The food is healthy but in terms of taste was not something special. I tried the chicken burgers and there were a little bit overcooked.The service was perfect, nothing to complain about! Ps. Please do not put coriander in the salad! Try parsley!

Waited 30 minutes for coffees and even longer for our very basic brunch. Had to had to chase for milk and cutlery etc but have to admit that it was all worth it once the food came. Extremely expensive but you get what you pay for.

I wanted to try this charming little coffee shop in appearance, but unfortunately if you aren't one of the "regulars" you'll be treated as an unwelcomed stranger and given looks to make you think if you should be there or not... While ordering I almost told the -rude- cashier/waitress (but she didn't bother to come serve me) to give up on my order and walk straight out. Thing I should have done but the tasty brownie made me think otherwise and I stayed...I will not go back... The brownie wasn't as good as it looked.. And the behaviour of the staff left a bitter after taste anyway

Great pastries and coffee and just off the Portobello Road. You can sit outside and people watch or go inside to the rather crowded interior.

From the outside, this place looks really quaint. Unfortunately that's all it's got going for it.We were ignored by the staff from the outset, then seated in someone else's seat (causing a huge amount of embarrassment for the customer who's seat we'd taken).This was followed by poor quality, unseasoned, lukewarm scrambled eggs, accompanied by stale, day-old bread. The coffee we ordered came after we'd finished eating altogether - and when we mentioned this politely to the waitress, it was met with frankly the rudest, most indignant attitude. Overpriced and underwhelming (to say the least).
