A hidden gem We have been to Bridgenorth many times. However, we had never been down the courtyard the cafe is in. The cafe is very cosy. The lady who served us was very polite. The meals were excellent value for money, very tasty and well presented. The prices were excellent. This is good value,no frills food. There were four of us on a very wet day.It was very relaxing g sitting there chatting with friends. We were not hurried by staff to leave. The gammon was very tasty. The sandwiches and toasties were well presented. Cash only.....Good for the cafe for making a stand! Very happy to support a local buisness and keep cash in circulation. There is a ash point near by if needed. If the cash points aren't aren't used, they will go out of circulation also! The only downside is no toilet.

I’ve eaten here many times before and food is fine, location is comfortable and cash only isn’t a issue for me as I like to support small businesses rather than large chains, however a little confusion over 2 or 4 rounds of toast left the lady at the counter very sharp with me, it really was unnecessary and she seemed to get irritated by the matter which really was minor, not sure why, sadly will be taking my custom to another small business in future.

We were passing through and found the cafe in a side passage of the high street. We ordered two meals - Scampi and chips served hot and a Tuna mayonnaise sandwich. Both were good potions. The cafe was not busy but ticking over. For service you must order at the counter, the girls were friendly. Cash only, this needs to be displayed better.

Visited on a Thursday lunchtime. Café was clean and tidy but I didn't feel that the staff were particularly welcoming. Also it's cash only here, no card payments accepted. Had the faggots peas and mash, which tasted dry, not enough gravy and quite weak. Coffee average. There is a good choice of places to eat in Bridgnorth, so I will probably look elsewhere next time.

3 of us Went in on a rainy lunch time and managed to get a table straight away. Menu already on the table and a sign fixed on the "table order at the counter" . We ordered 3 teas whilst waiting to look at the food menu. The lady said you need to pay for this straight away! Me: We will be having some food can I pay all together at the end? No sorry! OK I feel they don't trust their customers. No problem, took out my card.... Sorry cash only! It s 2023 if you don't accept card please put up a sign outside your main door. At this point another woman joined the counter willing to place an order and as soon as she heard no card she went back to her table of 4, explaining the issue and they left. I asked if I could place the order whilst going out to get cash. 3 breakfast (1 of them vegetarian). Got cash, paid and sat down to enjoy our tea. When the breakfast came it was very avarage. Horrible sausage (nearly as bad as a Richmond), overcooked eggs at the bottom and tinned plum tomato. The vegetarian one had no vegetarian sausage: only beans, tomato, mushrooms, Ash brown and eggs (even those overcooked) . We opted to not have any pudding. The worst bit of this experience is the lack of customer service as we never seen any staff member going to tables, offering a bit of service, a chat with customers, clearing away plates etc. 2 ladies chatting up and washing up in their kitchen to the point they never noticed we even left, said good bye or anything at all. That s why they expect customers to pay in advance.

No toilet. Cash only. Fetch your own drinks. Fetch your own sauces. Plastic tablecloths. Little red serviette dispensers. Welcome to the 50s - but not in a good way. Tucked away down an alley off the main road this is a cheap lunchtime eatery with passable food. Toilet should be provided if more than 20 seats and given there is apparently also seating upstairs I don’t understand the lack of a loo.

I think the older lady that serves in the cafe should go on a customer service training course. An order was mixed up because there is no proper table system in place and we were the ones who were blamed. Instead of discussing the issue we were screeched at by this lady in front of the whole cafe. She was incredibly rude and most unprofessional. We were left to feel very humiliated and other customers also appeared very embarrassed.

We stopped by for a lite bite and a coffee with 2 small children - not child friendly at all. It is quite small but we were instantly asked to move the pushchair becuase it was "in the way". Also were told we couldn't sit at a particular table as it was taken though I couldn't see a reserved sign... felt like we were being told off. Not very welcoming. Upstairs was closed so no toilet available.Food was okay, not great not terrible. Of all the tea rooms in bridgnorth I wouldn't bother with this one again there are much nicer, friendlier places to pop in.

Called in for a quick breakfast. No recognition from anybody when I was walked in and there was no customers in there. I sat myself down, chose what I wanted, then approached the counter (this is counter service). The female was busy chatting to the gentleman in the back and looked at me but carried on talking. Eventually, she approached the counter to serve me. I ordered a small breakfast and a pot of tea for on. Both were served quite quickly. The breakfast was tasty, the bacon was really nice and the tea was good. I paid a total of £5.50 and thought this was good value. Nice little café tucked down an alleyway.

Judging from the reviews, the food is nice, however, I was unfortunately not able to try it myself as they wouldn't allow me to order food to eat off the premises. I even offered to wrap it up myself. Luckily there's a nice cafe just a few yards further on the corner on the high street called Tea & Roses which do do takeaways - and have toilets. We dropped in for a quick lunchtime bite, the café looked fairly busy, but we found a seat. The upstairs area was marked as closed, but the locals seems to go up there anyway. We ordered faggots, mash and peas and a sausage sandwich, we were asked if we wanted the bread buttered, which we didn't, but it was done anyway. The cook was making one meal at a time and it took 45 minutes to get our meal. It was overdone and not at all tasty, not only that, but it was certainly not cheap. The staff are more interested in chatting with locals and gossiping, I felt rather sorry for the people they were openly discussing.

We saw this place as we walked round and saw how busy it was and returned a little while later just in time to get a table that was being vacated. You order at the counter and promptly did so. Its a get your own cutlery and condiments sort of place which is fine. Our lunch order consisted of a sausage & mushroom sandwich and the homemade faggots. There was no indication from the woman at the counter that would be any delay and there were certainly less in than when we first entered. 35 minutes later our food came without any apology for the delay. One problem we identified is there seems to be only one in the kitchen and he had one speed.

The menu is extensive to say the least, you can have chips with any combo you can think of, and the specials, well what can I say. Again another excellent choice at £5! Visited this lovely country pub following recommendations from neighbours. The menu is small but full of home made dishes. As a group of 4 we enjoyed chicken and Stilton pie and vegetables, gammon, sweetcorn, chips and pineapple, chilli con carne and a really meaty pork chop, chips and peas. Really good home cooked food so much better than the normal pub grub. It also means the menu changes regularly. Sensibly priced making eating out a pleasure. Desserts just had to be tried. The whisky bread and butter pudding was suitably named and the apple crumble with custard was a winner too. The Sunday roast advertised at £9.30 will have to be tried another weekend. Delicious home cooked food is always so much better than bought in dishes. We praised the chef and June for a lovely warm welcome and a great meal.

I must echo the views of others. A really lovely restaurant spoiled by sparrows landing on the the table where cakes are being cut and on uncleared tables.
