The lunch time buffet is perfect for a quick, though not rushed midday meal. And the food is always delicious. The lunchtime buffet is no more, but the a la carte menu is more than welcome and the service is still excellent 👌

I went here with my family for lunch m one of us had very specific dietary requirement, not only were they able to accommodate us but that remembered us from last time and for it spot on. Started and main were fantastic, I asked for a little now chill in my main and the chef didn't disappoint. This restaurant is superb, clean, sensibly projected and the staff are great. I can't recommend this plane highly enough

My family and I visited this restaurant on Sunday. We have visited multiple times before, however decided to try lunch for a family members birthday. One family member had a sensitive diet and therefore has strict dietary requirements. We rang ahead to advise of what she can eat. Upon arrive they confirmed the requirements. We all got our food at the same time and it was absolutely delicious as always. The staff are always so accommodating, friendly and polite. The food is outstanding. Our favourite Indian restaurant in the UK so far. The restaurant itself is always spotless. I cannot fault it at all. 100% recommend a visit.

It's never fun eating on your own but the staff at Badi Mirchi made me very welcome as a walk-in customer. Two pints of Cobra and an excellent two course dinner easily satisfied my needs in the clean and comfortable dining room.

Soon as we walked in we was given a great welcome, food was fantastic and staff amazingly friendly we stayed in the holiday inn across the road and we would definitely come back again

We visit the area quite a lot and usually stay in the Holiday Inn hotel opposite, so have been to this restaurant quite a few times over the years. When we came previously it wasn’t very good, so we’ve given it a miss over the last year or so. However, decided to visit again this time and so glad we did! Just had poppadoms and a chutney tray between us to start and glad we did, as needed room for the mains. The 3 of us had a madras, a jalfrezi and a chicken tikka masala plus rice and Nan breads. All were really tasty but we all agreed the Chicken Madras was superb. And the Nan breads were excellent. If you’re local or staying at the hotels nearby definitely give this place a try.

Shame as we’ve had loads of good meals from Badi Mirchi. Usually they are fantastic but tonight we had a naan bread missing, the rice was undercooked and the delivery ended up being pushed back by nearly an hour.

I spent a great time at this restaurant. From my end, best ever indian restaurant in Hampshire. I was there with my friends, and the staff were really friendly, the dish was delicious. I will be back, guaranteed.

I had a disappointing experience at this Indian restaurant, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts to help others avoid the same letdown. Firstly, the moment we entered, we were greeted by dirty linens and chair covers that clearly hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time. It was off-putting and set a negative tone for the evening. We were surprised to find the restaurant almost empty on a Friday night, which should have been a red flag. Yet, we were seated next to a family with three small children, which made the atmosphere even more chaotic and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, our dining experience was marred by several issues. The Coke we ordered was flat and lacking any fizz, while the poppadoms were fried in oil that tasted burnt, leaving a bitter aftertaste. The dips were equally disappointing; the yogurt dip had no flavor whatsoever, and the mango chutney was spoiled—definitely not what we expected from an Indian restaurant renowned for its rich flavors. Given the poor start, we decided against ordering any mains, as we didn’t want to put ourselves through further trouble or waste more money. Everything felt overpriced for the lack of quality we encountered. To add to the bizarre experience, we noticed staff standing by the bar, engrossed in their phones, seemingly uninterested in the customers. It felt strange to be watched while enjoying our meal (or lack thereof), and it certainly didn’t create a welcoming environment. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant based on our experience. Poor hygiene, lackluster food, and inattentive service do not justify the high prices. There are far better Indian restaurants out there that value their customers and provide a much more enjoyable dining experience. Save your time and money and look elsewhere!

I ordered a takeaway on a Saturday evening and the food came within reasonable time and it was amazing! The chicken chettinad was delicious. I highly recommend this place.

Being a someone who eats a lot of curries around the country can say this is probably one of the worst I’ve had. Two young lads in there were very helpful but the food really wasn’t good! Rice came out of the microwave and was clumpy! The chicken was extremely tough! I wouldn’t recommend

Second visit in as many months. Cracking mains and sides but let down by slightly soft poppadoms and badly kept guest beers.

Would prefer food delivery at 5:30 PM but quality is excellent.

been looking for a place for ages that do the right level of spice for a dansak and its perfect which also had a beautiful flavour, king prawns were proper aswell. absolutely mind blowing curry, mixed kebab starter was sensational aswell. masters

Excellent service and food. Waiter helped my choice of food and they adapted it to suit me (I can’t stand coriander) . The flavours in the dishes were so good. We went back again with another couple the next night. Again great service and food. Thank you. We will be back again

Visited for the first time last night with Family. Staff were very helpful and food amazing best Indian weve had in a while! Will definitely visit here again and would highly recommend a visit if youve not been.

Best Indian I've had for a long time

Food was good, the mushroom rice was really good the curry was nice but milder than I expected. I am sure the staff would have made it spicy had I asked they was very attentive but I don't like sending food back and that is my problem not there's. All in good food not Michelin star standard but good solid tasty food and I would happily eat there again. The restaurant was very quiet that is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

I was amazingly shocked I have drove past this restaurant many times and it’s stood out to me but never went in. Thursday last minute we decided to go for dinner and the service was impeccable the waiter couldn’t do enough he was so polite, helpful and efficient. The food was lovely considering they were due to close in 30 minutes and nothing was too much. Thank you so much for a lovely experience we will definetly be back for our date night 😊

We had dinner here the night before a cruise holiday as we did not fancy the hotel menu. We had a lovely meal, really couldn't fault a thing. We also thought if was extremely good value for the set menu and a bottle of Villa Maria wine. We would certainly recommend and return again if we are in the area.

My partner and myself finally ate here after always driving past and wondering what it’s like inside and I have to say I wish we’d come here sooner! Food was tantalising the staff were very friendly smiling and welcoming and happy to accommodate any requests. This is our new place to eat! Compliments to the chef and staff especially Mohammed amin such a charming young man!

* DONT EAT HERE!!! This was our go to curry house, however it's not anymore!! As we walked in there were one couple and a family of three adults and 2 children and that was all. As we sat down, we looked through what we were going to order and asked for water for all. The water was warm as the ice melted quickly! We ordered our food, the only good thing about this meal was the poppadoms but the salad from the sauce tray looked discoloured and the tomatoes didn't look right. Next we waited a very long time for our meals, which they got mine and my mothers correct, but not my hustands which then we started without him. My curry had a top skin (which longed like it had been sat for a while) and wasn't that hot either, when my mothers came out, she tried the tomatoes and said it tasted vingery, the rice was cold and was very dry (it looked like it had been microwaved) as we started to eat, my hustand had to watch us eating and waiting about 10/15 minutes and his came out. No apology with that it was out late and his bowl was hot, like it had come out of a microwave as you couldn't touch the bowl. The garlic nan bread wasn't hot either and looked like it had been sat there for a long time. After talking to the guy about our complaints, he didn't offer any apologies and no discount off of our food that we didn't eat! I'm so disappointed and wouldn't recommend ever coming back! You've lost your customers with poor service, unsatisfactory food and I wouldn't be surprised if we had food poisoning from tonight's dinner!!!

Visited early evening, attentive service, good food and we could park as a bonus. Two toddlers were in with their parents at the same time, very impressive and said something about the restaurant.

The food was lovely and the service excellent- the only downside was that the main courses weren’t really hot enough ( temperature not flavour) I would go back again next time I’m in Eastleigh.

Overpriced for what it is. There are others around for far cheaper and quality is the same. Didn’t even include a popadom which every other Indian takeaway does.

Weekly visit with my lad to our special table. New menu is delicious. Absolutely live the Peppercorn based curry and the Mango Lassi. Recommended.

Unfortunately not a good start to our holiday which started following day. My partner spent 2 days in bed...

Working in the area so we decided to visit. I think we must have picked a really quiet time as we were the only people in there so it's a little difficult to judge the atmosphere! The staff were really helpful and dishes were served quickly as you might expect in a near empty restaurant. The prawn masala was ok, and the starters included sesame prawns which again were ok and onion bhajis which were as you'd expect. The food was of a 'no frills' standard, perfectly acceptable but to elevate it to higher levels the flavours, presentation and atmosphere would need to be transformed. However we had a pleasant visit and it has potential for sure.

Place was empty as I was quite early. Friendly welcome and great service. Really tasty Mixed kebab then Chicken Tikka Pathia and rice with a Peshwari naan. Thoroughly recommended

We stayed at the holiday inn across the road and decided to walk out for some dinner, the heavens opened so we saw this one across close by and popped in. How lucky we’re we, Lovely people, great services, very nice food that was well presented and freshly cooked even adapting the menu for to our request… and when the bill came we were pleasantly surprised how well priced it was! great place

The food was very good, tasted fantastic. Potion size excellent.. our only issues were, we weren't asked if we wanted ice in our drinks... I hate ice in drinks so had to ask them to remove it. Then second thing was, the menu gave a lower price for Fanta than we were charged on bill. We didn't complain as my husband doesn't like me complaining... but £7.50 for 2 pints was very expensive!!!

This was the best Indian takeaway we’ve had. We tried here for the first time, instead of our usual which was shut, and we will now be coming here every week! Our new Indian go to! Amazing food, chicken so tender, spices & flavour amazing, GREAT portions!

After a long day I ordered a takeaway through Uber eats, a chicken biryani, and a prawn starter neither resembled what it should the biryani was disgusting wet sloppy rice and the vegetable curry was in a weird creamy sauce with green beans only and crispy onions on the top! It turned my stomach I had to throw it away. Incredibly disappointing I will never use Badi Mirchi again

Badi Mirchi hosted my birthday party for 29 people. They gave us the full choice of their varied menu because we ordered in advance. The new menu is excellent and the service was superb. Everyone had hot, delicious food because they were well organised. The sea bass is a favourite of mine as is the salmon tikka. But all the dishes are great and the wine and beer choice is excellent.

Authentic cuisine representing a selection of Indian subcontinent dishes. Service was very friendly and explained dishes well to suit tastes. We'll be coming back again to savour the home style Tadka Dal and Biriyani!

Only delivered half our order, then said the delivery driver had stolen our food and there was nothing they could do about it. The food we did get was awful, no flavour and meat very tough.

Can’t speak highly enough of this restaurant. Amazing selection of food at a great price. Loved the selection of specials, especially the superb chilli sea bass, perfectly presented and cooked. Also recommend the chicken chettinad- a nice heat with coconut taste. Easily the best Indian in Southampton

Have ordered a take away 3 times over last month. My dhansak was delicious not to hot not too sweet perfect Kormas are nice thick. nan Bread are full of fillings Can’t recommend enough for both dining and takeaway

Very nice. Madras was very very hot, which made the bhuna seem a little tasteless. Not quite as nice as our usual restaurant.

Good service. Nice decor. Food was average, not properly spiced for authentic Indian cuisine. The cauliflower pakoras were tasteless when the batter should have proper spices as cauliflowers are pretty bland. The black dhal was thick in consistency and not enough sauce and again not much flavour. Had better quality food on previous visits. A shame.

Truly the best curry we've had in the Southampton area. Loads of choice. Food was tasty and well presented. Plenty of tables and parking on-site. Cannot fault it - will be going again!

Knowing next to nothing about Indian cuisine, our waiter gave us suggestions, and they were excellent!

Visited here whilst staying at the Holiday Inn on a work trip, food was good and very quick service. However, when asked for a VAT receipt I was told that they didn't have any.... when questioning further I was then told, as it was a new business they had applied for a VAT number, but still waiting for it... seemed odd

What an amazing place! We stopped there on our way to catch the ferry. It's literally 20mns away from the Brittany ferry dock in Portsmouth. It was the best curry we've had in ages. Staff was super friendly and helpful, and the price was hugely reasonable! We'll definitely use this place again whenever we're travelling from Portsmouth! Thank you so much for being such stars! 🌟

This restaurant does not have a clue how to make a chicken chettinad. I want authentic Indian or Bangladeshi food not a basic masala for every dish. Also consistency, as I've ordered the same dish multiple occasions and the dish is different each time. I really want this place to get it right as has great potential. Authenticity and consistency
