I always place orders by telephone. Very good service and quality food nicely cooked. Parking at the shop available.

Haddock & Chips which were once again delicious. We share the one meal as there is more than enough. Very friendly staff to top it.

Jumbo battered sausage & chips for a change and it was very nice indeed. Good size portion and reasonable price. Again, friendly, polite staff and everything appears spotlessly clean.

I ordered a chicken 🐔 leg just on the end of day for take away. The children was very dry and I sent it straight to bin. Never again

Best chip shop for miles. We drive past another chippy to get to this one as the chips are so good. Service is always excellent too.

it was 21:00 and my chicken was waiting for me a 24 hours or much more. Very dry and old, the same cold chips.

Again a while since our last visit but it was a beautiful day so we took our meal and a bottle of wine and sat by Backwell Lake to enjoy. And enjoy we did. Excellent haddock and chips (one meal did for the two of us) so worked out extremely good value for money. Staff are very friendly and polite and will definiately be back again.

Lovely perfectly cooked fish - I had the Cod and My wife had the Haddock - both with nice crispy batter. the freshly cooked chips were great as was the mussy peas :-)

Ordered Fish and chips with gravy and curry, a wonderful meal served by a well mannered server. Will visit here again, food was excellent.

I’m sorry to say for the second time I’ve visited this chip shop. Both times the chips tasted like they where old, double cooked and dry as cardboard. Not what you expect from a relatively expensive fish and chips. Last visit was Easter Friday evening. Disappointed. Five family members all agreed and we where left with 2 huge bags of chips that no one wanted. How hard is it to cook chips?

Very pleasant staff indeed and the meal was extremely good. Very large and well cooked portions of haddock & chips. Very clean and all freshly cooked. Will be back soon.

We’ve had fish and chips from this place for years, and every order has been lovely. The staff are polite and helpful, and the portions are a good size. Although this is a bit of a drive for us, we use it rather than other local alternatives.

I called into this chip shop on my way home after visiting my wife in hospital, the pie and chips were hot and freshly cooked. I enjoyed them so much I told my wife and when I collected her from hospital, she asked to call into the chip shop and get her a bag of chips and a roll, she enjoyed them so much, when we went to hospital last week for review she asked to stop at the shop again. The service is good COVID aware, and the meals are very hot.

Bought a Cod and chips and a chicken and chips tonight and the piece of fish was the worst I've ever had, anywhere. It was wafer thin and so tough that even my cat turned away from it. Never again.Oh and they seem to allow unmasked customers to enter the shop

Excellent food, friendly staff, so glad that this is my local chip shop. I go every other week or so and they are consistently excellent. Phone ahead and your food will be ready to collect.

Always great cod and chips, generous portions, and a friendly service. Love that they avoid use polystyrene packaging if possible - food stays hot without it.

First visit in quite some time and think it may be under new management but the quality is still excellent.Fish & Chips are no longer a 'cheap' meal and these prices are just about par with any any other establishment.Will no doubt be back again.

I have used backwell fish bar a lot over the past 4 years and only been disappointed once. Would highly recommend,I do go for the haddock.

Aftre a cold wet and disappointing visit to the Clifton Xmas Street Fayre, opted to pop to Backwell Fish Bar on our way home.Not been here for some time and so I think the new owners are relatively new. Lovely greeting from the young lady and from the young man cooking and so ordered cod/haddock & chips. All cooked fresh and it was well worth the wait. Beautiful fish and lovely chips and a real struggle to get through it all.Will be back and highly recommend.

The cod is white and meaty, the batter is delicious and does not go soggy by the time you’ve returned home! The chips are tasty and not too big, truly my favourite fish and chips, well worth visiting relatives who live nearby !

Great Fish & Chips cooked to order whilst you wait, or phone ahead and collect. This has become a regular option for Friday Supper for us and we have recommended it to family and friends.Staff always friendly, service with a smile even when they are really busy!

We have been going to Backwell Fish Bar for many years and although it has had a few bad months occasionally it has now become a very good Fish Bar. The staff are always welcoming and friendly and the food is always cooked to order and therefore very fresh and hot. You may have to wait a few extra minutes to collect your food but it’s well worth the wait.

Used on numerous occasions over the years and never disappointed with quantity and quality of take away food. The ability to phone and collect order a great advantage.

The standard of the food is poor, greasy. This used to be a great chip shop but the current owners do not understand the fish and chip culture

Great fish and chips. Go for the haddock, very good (way better than cod) Everything is cooked fresh, so you will have to wait. But it's worth it.

Gave them a try on account of the recent good reviews but were very disappointed. Our cod was tasteless, dry and tough and finished in the bin I'm afraid. On the plus side the chips were good and there were plenty of them. Probably won't return though.

This is a friendly place and the service is quick. The fish is cooked to order and is excellent. Wide choice on the menu board. Good value for money.

Again lovely fish and chips, from here. Always fast service, even though fish is cooked to order but it's worth the wait to get it perfectly cooked and fresh. Batter is nice and crisp with proper chips none of those skinny or French fries you find in posh self centred pubs locally. Great value for money 2 large cod, 1 large chips, mushy peas and curry sauce £15 and the dog had some chips.

Batter perfect - light and thin and crispy. Cod filleted perfectly with no bones nor skin. Huge portion of chips. Helpful and fast service. Superb - best I've had in ages!!

This is one of go-to places for fish-n-chips. Nice sized portions, and plenty of salt and vinegar. The pea fritter is always nice, or mushy peas instead.
