Booked for Sunday roast 03/03/24 with friends , we were not disappointed ! The food was outstanding , veg selection was lovely and plenty of it , meat was so tender and just the best gravy . We all agreed it was the best roast dinner we have had in a restaurant/pub EVER!!! Harry, Natasha and their team were so welcoming , it had a great Sunday afternoon jazzy blues feel . The chefs are obviously the best around ...so thank you so much for a fab experience, we will be back ...soon !

I recently celebrated my 50th birthday in the private room at San Fairie Ann. It was absolutely INCREDIBLE ! From first communication with Harry and Tasha, I felt in great hands ! The space is stunning, the flexibility in regard to set up and clear down of decor, amazing owners in H&T, wonderful staff. I couldn’t have hosted my celebration at a better venue with such beautiful space and brilliant staff ! My friends absolutely loved it and I’d recommend SFA in a heartbeat 💓 thank you guys and your amazing team for a memory for life xx

Had to go and try this very cosy bistro. Was recommended by a friend . Must be said the food was excellent well presented and cooked perfectly . The ambience so inviting and relaxing . A friend and I booked for bottomless brunch. Was seated immediately upon arrival. Good selection of food to choose from. The tapas was sensational and the burger was beautiful. Drinks were continually flowing and we never had to ask for a top up. We decided to add on a cheese board as a good end to the brunch and that was also beautiful. Service was absolutely second to none. Truly amazing. Would highly recommend. We will be back

We hired the private dining room for a family birthday party. Excellent service, food and care. Any minor issues were dealt with swiftly and professionally. A gorgeous room, attentive staff and our bespoke requirements catered for. Very warm and kind staff who truly looked after us. If you are after a private but atmosphere filled dinner then I would highly recommend.

We haven’t been to San Fairie Ann for many years, and only really returned on recommendation, but it hasn’t lost its character, nor charm - we left really impressed. We came on a busy Saturday night with a group for a meal, the food was really good and enjoyed by all - a good balance of flavour in my main dish. The singer they had playing for most of the evening was a nice added touch which a large crowd at the bar were certainly enjoying, although it was a bit too loud for us at times.

SERVICE WAS APPALLING BOOKED FOR 7.30PM, VERY PRETTY VENUE BUT WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HAVE EATEN BEFORE 9 0'CLOCK. FOOD TEPID TO COLD. VERY NOISY COULD NOT HEAR ABOVE OTHER DINERS AND THE MUSIC. CONVERSATION IMPOSSIBLE. NO RECEIPTS FOR BILLS WHEN PAYING THE WAITER JUST POINTED TO PUT YOUR EMAIL ON TO THE MACHINE. HAD PUT A DEPOSIT ON THE MEAL BUT WAS TOLD IT WAS INCLUDED IN THE BILL, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ACKNOWLEGED ON THE BILL. HAD TO ASK THEM TO TAKE THE SERVICE CHARGE OFF. FOOD WAS SO LONG COMING THAT FRIENDS HAD TO RUSH TO GET THEIR LAST TRAIN WITH ONLY 5 MINS TO SPARE. THE FOOD MADE HUSBAND ILL THE NEXT DAY. TO SUM UP AS VERY DISAPPOINTING EVENING OUT. i WILL NOT BE GOING THERE AGAIN.

Absolutely wonderful. We were let down by a new restaurant that we had booked for 40th birthday outing. Last minute we contacted San Fairie Ann to see if they could accommodate us. They were fantastic, from the freshly made afternoon tea to the attentive and friendly service. The food was delicious and the staff and atmosphere exactly want you want for a special occasion. The roasts they were serving also looked fantastic so we will definitely return!

Once you've visited San Fairie Ann, particularly if you're local, you'll likely find yourself going back again and again! Stunning decor, classy but with a very relaxed atmosphere, which isn't always an easy combination to pull off. The food is always fantastic, fresh, and cooked and presented perfectly. Harry, Natasha and the entire team are so welcoming, helpful and great at what they do! Most recently came to celebrate my birthday and not a single member of my party had anything but positive things to say, we are already planning our next visit :) The best restaurant in Southend Central in my humble opinion!

We celebrated my daughter’s engagement at this beautiful restaurant on Saturday night, hiring the room downstairs for the party. The whole night was fabulous. The communication and interaction had with Harry and Natasha before the party was friendly and thorough, ensuring that all our needs (including dietary ones) were met. On the actual night, the downstairs space was absolutely perfect for us, beautifully decorated and private. The food was fantastic and we were really well looked after. We were allocated our own barman downstairs, George who was brilliant, very attentive and such a nice guy, as were all members of staff that we encountered. The party couldn’t have gone better and we were so pleased that we had chosen this special venue to celebrate at. Harry, Natasha and the whole team obviously work so hard to make everyone feel welcome and it really is one of (if not the) most beautiful restaurant and bar in Southend I would thoroughly recommend San Fairie Ann to anyone looking to host a party, or just eat and drink in a wonderful atmosphere!

Not sure what happened tonight? We had to wait a while for a drink, then one of our friends didn’t get hers, the waitress eventually came & said sorry, they’d run out of glasses. Sat down at 8, food arrived at 9.15, there was a half hour wait for the wellington, which was delicious! We weren’t asked if we wanted any more drinks, There was noise coming from somewhere, like a childrens party. Staff were friendly, but were not in any way attentive. What a shame.

We had high tea last weekend for a family members 40th birthday. The restaurant speaks for itself as far as decor & ambience is concerned. However, the food was fantastic, excellent choices for us fussy eaters (well me!), and Harry & his team were perfectly welcoming & attentive. A fantastic afternoon had by all.

We used to love this restaurant but not sure if owners have changed (as has been Bacchus in between) but has had a revamped since we were last here and although tastefully redecorated we won’t be going back in a hurry.The staff were attentive and looked after our little one when he was a bit upset (thank you to the female staff member who provided a chocolate milk to our crying toddle while on her break) and they provided all we needed but there did not seem to be any consideration to there being a pandemic except people were sat on alternating tables.1) No contact details were taken as Government requirements 2) No hand sanitiser for customers or staff provided plus I could not see staff washing hands at all (no sinks on restaurant floor and some didn’t leave the floor at all while we were there)3) Staff were not wearing masks plus I saw the bar man scratch/wipe his nose then pick up a pint glass and pour a pint4) menus were provided then put back in the pile without being clean or anything (other places we have been have used a chalkboard to show us the menu or paper that gets put straight in recycle bin)5) salt and pepper shakers were provided by staff for customer to use then taken away and put back on the pile without cleaning (other places have used individual sachets if needed or cleaned between uses)6) members of staff not social distancing and were even hugging or hand shaking7) a member of staff (I assume manager or supervisor or even owner, which is worse, was sitting at the bar drinking a pint ) then kept greeting people with hugs and kisses but they were not in his bubble as he had to be introduced to some.8) cash was accepted for payment and staff that handled it didn’t clean their hands afterI am very disappointed as we are all trying our best to reduce the risks and slow this pandemic down while also supporting local businesses. So many other small businesses have done so much above and beyond to try and protect staff and customers to help reduce risks and for their benefit to be allowed to stay open then we come across this one that appears to be doing nothing. It’s a shame

Food was generally good, if a bit on the expensive side. However the completely ignored all the social distancing recommendations.None of the staff wore masks. Tables right next to each other were packed even though the rest of the restaurant was empty. No contact tracing information was requested. If anyone there tests positive there will be no way to warn anyone else to self isolate.Won't be going back during the pandemic.

Well, it was either going to be a hit or miss for us.All i can say it was a massive HIT, This is one of the best places we've eaten in, in southend in a longggg time. Walking in was just the start with all the things around you, you just simply dont know where to look its amazing. We was greeted by a lovely young man who sat us at our table and straight away took our drinks order and handed us a menu. The warm welcome was lovely. We sat with our drinks we'd ordered and were made for us and we ordered starters.We'd previously read that the portions were small, this is so far from the truth. They were very generous portions for a starter they were warm and made to perfection with the decoration. They were polished in seconds. We sat and our mains came out and to say shocked would be an understatement. The steak was insane, never seen a lump like it. It was cooked to utter perfection of medium- rare. The decor on the plate again was beautiful and the flavours were just bursting within my mouth. I would highly recommend this restaurant as it was honestly such a good experience. I cant thank the guy enough who served us all night and even bought over a plate with happy birthday written on as we was celebrating my birthday.I will 100% be re-visiting and if youre reading this and havent been, dont wait around get out there and go eat some decent food here!!!
