Bacaro in Weymouth and Portland

Friendly smiles as soon as we opened the door. Got given a table and water was Brought to us straight away! Loads of children options and a separate children's menu. Menus were abit sticky but I'm not one to worry about things like that. Food was amazing we had empty plates all round!

Loved Bacaro. Pizzas were excellent and staff members friendly. Lovely chilled atmosphere with comfortable seating after several thousand steps walking Weymouth.

Excellent Italian Restaurant bar but we had an amazing roast. Chloe the General Manager was very helpful. Service and Food, top drawer.

I was recommended this restaurant by the landlady at my B&B. I wanted somewhere where I could take my labrador. I have to say we were treated like royalty. We were taken to a comfortable seat and were immediately taken care of. I had the best king prawn and chorizo gnocchi I've ever had, with a generous amount of delicious prawns, with garlic bread on the side and a scummy limoncello and prosecco cocktail. Frodo had his own little bowl of chicken. During my time there, every single member of staff came over and made a fuss of the pooch and chatted to me. I felt so welcome. It's not always easy eating on your own, but this place put me at ease from start to finish. Can't wait to return to Weymouth to eat there again!

We have visited this evening and it has been incredible. Food was amazing and so tasty. I would say the carbonara was the best I’ve ever tasted and I’ve tried a lot 😂. Dining alone, I was made very welcome and found a good table. I was late eating but again not made to feel unwelcome. Chose spaghetti al olio which was absolutely just what was needed accompanied by a large glass of very nice sauvignon blanc. Would definitely recommend. Nice atmosphere with a mix of people.

We were a large group booking in the height of the summer season with a big order, arrived a little late with last minute order changes and nothing was too much trouble. There was a small mix up with one order but was rectified promptly and a free garlic bread to apologise. All meals were fresh and tasted amazing. Bacaro has a great vibe and something for everyone. All of the staff were friendly and happy and couldn’t be faulted. Love this place

"Bacaro" means "nice bar" in Italian. This is not simply a nice bar. This is a 5 star restaurant. Located right on the seafront, most tables have an awe inspiring view of the blue of the sky and sea and the white of the waves and cliffs. As if the sea air wasn't intoxicating enough, the drinks were cheap, the music was enchanting and the food was inspired. The chefs worked like lightning in the open kitchen, bantering as they went. The front of house staff were diligent and charming, always prepared to go the extra mile to make my dining experience exceptional. Bacaro doesn't feel too fancy as to make you feel uncomfortable, but still seems to hold itself to an extremely high standard. Bacaro welcomes all comers, and in my short time there, they treated everyone I saw come through the doors with respect. The flavour of the food was electric. I spoke to the staff and they told me most of their ingredients are locally sourced. Every bite felt fresh. So much care has gone into crafting such a massively diverse menu. So many different items, from burgers to linguine, and from pizza to risotto. Unfortunately, I didn't get to sample every dish while I was there but from the presentation of each dish that I saw, it's clear that every bit of food that leaves that kitchen is prepared with love. It's nice to see people laugh and joke while they're at work. It appears at least, like the staff enjoy working with eachother and work together well. My visit to Bacaro was flawless. It was everything I needed to rejuvenate me after a long week being a park ranger. Bacaro is more than a nice bar, it's a phenomenal, extra-special restaurant. Ranger rick, Signing out.

Lovely friendly service and good location, although music from next door a bit noisy. Unfortunately though the food was not so good. Pizzas bases were tasteless and tough - I don’t think the dough had risen at all. Tasteless tomato sauce and way too much cheese. My beetroot risotto was tasty but too much liquid and not much rice. It may have been an off night but on the strength of it, we won’t be back.

Loads of gluten free, Dairy free options! We went for the pizza, with a vegan cheese, but it's a welcome change to see so many gluten free options. The staff were exceptional even on an Easter weekend. Prompt to greet and seat us, took our order quickly, regularly checked in and didn't forget anything we asked for even though we were seated outside. Super friendly. I'd definitely come back

I took my Boyfriend for a birthday lunch. It’s always very clean and the girl on shift was very friendly & helpful. One of our favourite places to eat in Weymouth. The food is delicious. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.

The lady who looked after us was so friendly, kind and helpful. She was the only person serving the tables and she was rushed off her feet but she kept smiling and made us feel welcome throughout our meal. We had steaks, risotto with a steak topping and the chicken tagliatelle - shout out to the chef - they were all wonderful. A few months ago we had a Sunday lunch there too - this was equally amazing! Went in and shown to nice spacious comfortable seating. Really great interior with relaxing atmosphere, For a Sunday great choice of food even on a limited menu. Any pizzas can be ordered. Between three of us we had: Corn Fed Roast Chicken which was so nice and easy to eat with all the trimmings too. A basic pizza and Mozzarella Garlc Bread which was all cooked very well. As I am writing the review I’ll now come on to the highlight for me, Fillet Mignon for Sunday lunch complete with a really tasty peppercorn sauce fries and salad. Omfg sorry not sorry for the implied naughty 😈 word a perfectly cooked steak with tons of flavour, medium Rare for me. Faultless. So good, The service in Bacarro is attentive just when you need it and left alone when you don’t. A fantastic lovely rekaxing and laid back welcoming restaurant selling food at a reasonable rate which is a joy to behold.

Very pleased with our first visit to Bacaro. Good Italian flavours. Will definitely visit again. Reasonable priced meals, drinks and wines bring the price up but that’s the same everywhere. Staff were very attentive and pleasant which certainly makes a difference . I will have no problem recommending. We visited on a Saturday evening and there were several young groups celebrating so found it a little noisy. Will consider mid week next time. Check if they have a mid week offer if you’re visiting.

Everything on the plate was delicious! A lovely selection of vegetables, roast potatoes and a huge Yorkshire pudding. Yummy gravy. Could not fault the dinner. Everyone is really friendly and happy to help. A definite recommendation for a delicious lunch 🤩

Came in for an impromptu double date which as always blew our socks off! The lamb pasta as recommended was absolutely to die for and all round everybody was absolutely thrilled with their meals. Can’t wait to visit again soon

After visiting a couple of time recently for “pre-show” meals, we noticed that Bacaro did a Sunday roast, so we thought we’d give it a go. Both and I my wife must say that without doubt it was the best Sunday roast we had ever had at a pub or restaurant and very nearly as good as the best home made version! Everything was cooked to perfection, was super tasty and so well seasoned!! Also, as usual, the staff were excellent!! The only surprise was that it wasn’t busier!

We wanted to eat in the evening but fully booked so decided to go for lunch. It was clean and warm no with festive decor. We had three courses and the food was fresh and tasty. The lasagne was amazing.

Came in on a rainy Saturday for a bite to eat! As a solo person visiting a restaurant, I was made to feel comfortable and welcomed. The service from Chloe and Grace was the best in town. The show stopper itself....the Fillet! The steak was cooked to perfection and you could have used a butter knife to cut it! Expertly seasoned with hot crispy fries, gorgeous peppercorn sauce and a fresh and crispy dressed salad. Such a reasonable price for a dish of exquisite flavours! Will definitely be returning!

Caught up with an old friend who lives in Weymouth. She booked this place because of the bottomless drink package . I don’t think I’ve ever had better service, it was amazing! The staff were very friendly and were fast and efficient , my drinks were tuning up before my glass was empty (the bottomless drink package) and the food was great. We had a great time, thank you, wish I lived nearer.

Went here on a bit of a muggy day with a couple of friends thought we would come here for some nice lunch but was wrong staff are standing around chatting laughing with each other whilst we’ve waited 20 minutes to order drinks, food was ok at best overpriced for what it is WILL NOT BE GOING BACK after seeing that staff.

Lovely place with a good vibe on the sea front with lots of choice - lots of Italian style food. Great option on the menu for cheaper eats too - good idea. Friendly staff and quick service. Gluten free pizza base available in all pizzas. We sat outside which was lovely. Would recommend.
