Baan Thai Cambridge in Cambridge

Everything at Baan Thai was wonderful. The atmosphere, the service, the cleanliness, the speed of service, but most importantly, the food. Our starters of Kai Satay and Moo Yang arrived really quickly and were delicious. Our main dishes (Kao Kai Yang, Pad Thai, and Kang Massaman) arrived minutes after we were asked if we were ready. The desert (Gluay Khaek - fried banana) was delicious, too. When the bill areived we had been expecting to pay far more too. Prices are really good. I can't fault anything at Baan Thai, and we will definitely be back

You will find the usual classic Thai dishes here. All were nice, a bit on the heavy savoury side but still acceptable. The prawn cakes could have been thicker/meatier compared to the usual ones I had in HK and Bangkok. Overall, a good Thai restaurant to visit.

I last had Thai food this good 28 years ago in Illinois. Seriously, the chicken red thai curry (I think it was M9 on the menu?) blew my tastebuds away. It was everything I hope for when I order this dish. POW. My daughter also loved her noodle dish. The staff is friendly and the restaurant clean and visually appealing. If they were in the middle of Cambridge, they’d be bursting at the seams. Venture a minute or two away from the centre and visit them! We’ll definitely be back whenever we’re in town.

I had fish cakes and suki ruam mit (dry). I highly recommend the suki; the seafood in it was very tender and tasty. Be warned, though, that it is very spicy. I needed an iced tea to recover from it. The fish cakes were okay but nothing special. You get a nice view of Parker's Piece which gives the place a nice vibe.

Recommended to us and didn’t disappoint. Excellent food and service despite struggling with short staff (aren’t we all). Thank you and well done.

As always, the food and service were great. Thank you Meena, Jake and the team. We are regulars here since discovering this Thai restaurant a coupe of years ago. I have to say other reviews claiming it is not authentic haven't been to Thailand. I have had multiple trips over to the Far East and have to say this restaurant is the most authentic I have found in Cambridge by far. It is not a chain like some and therefore it then depends on your preferred taste. For me, if I want real Thai then this is it. Red prawn curry, fish cakes and Pad Thai are a must. If you don't like it hot say so as everything is Thai spicy !! Meena and Jake have also accommodated us with large bookings over 2 events we held on Parkers Piece recently. Thank you.

First visit here yesterday here with my Thai fiance,we both enjoyed our meal very much. Very tasty and portions were generous and we will be visiting again when we next visit Cambridge.

Service was good but food was way below par - Thai food is typically tasty - most of the dishes were bland and poor by comparison - we were a group of ten and had a fair few dishes - most were disappointing. Distinctly lacking flavour - the pad Thai was especially disappointing and the herbs and aromatics were missing from most dishes: Sadly, won’t be visiting again.

Turn up at 9:15pm on a Friday night to order take out and told kitchen closed. Says it’s open until 10pm on website but apparently this is only to eat in. Crazy how this place is still in business.

Hadn’t made a reservation but we were accommodated with no issue. Food was very nice, delivered to table extremely quickly and the waiting staff were very friendly and efficient. Priced very reasonably and the menu is easy to follow with descriptions and levels of spice noted. Enjoyable surroundings and really pleasant with the view over Parkers Piece. Will return.

What a superb find. The location is fantastic overlooking the green. The food is to die for. Really properly cooked Thai which is tasty and superbly presented. The waitress was beautiful and so polite. Will definately come back

Moved to Cambridge from California a few months ago and have been wow’d by several of the Indian spots here. Today was our first time trying Thai for take away. We got a curry and a pad se ew. Overall the meal was totally fine, largely saved by requesting extra spicyness, but there was certainly nothing special about this place that merits a 5 star rating or anything close. 3.5-4 is about right. We appreciated the fair prices, but the curry was very thin and soupy, and the taste was pleasant but unmemorable. I’m hopeful there is a better place than this in cambridge, but that remains to be seen.

After arriving from the US, I visited this place with a friend. The location is very nice, right next to a park. The service was outstanding and super friendly. The food was delicious and the price was very reasonable. Would go there anytime again.

Great authentic Thai dining in a nice setting with very friendly and attentive staff for a very reasonable price. Most things on the menu are spicy but they can do mild if that's not your thing. I would recommend!

Excellent food, the people there are super nice and available. The food is not expensive for the portions you get. The place is also located not too far from Cambridge’s Center so it’s very convenient after a long day of walk around the city.
