Azuma in Islington

I'm glad I lost my bibimbap virginity at Azuma. It was great. Simple and yet great. The staff is very friendly and the food was great. The sizzling was at the rendez-vous. Spicy enough. Went for the beef and wasn't disappointed at all. Highly recommended. Very good value for the price. The sushi combi is a great combo.

Simply the best restaurant in the area. Incredible food. The bibimbap is exceptional, served sizzling in a hot stone pot, it tastes amazing. The sushi is outstanding, delicate and sumptuous. I have been here many times and will continue to come many more times. Affordable priced and the service is outstanding. Thank you!

I've been to Azuma restaurant to eat sushi in the afternoon. The staff was very kind and I ended up so happy about my dish! I ordered two X 6 pieces of maki and salmon nigiri. The salmon was so tasty! Everything seemed clean, the fish was fresh and tasty, the price affordable. I'll definitely come back soon!

Not as good as it used to be. The portion sizes have shrunk and the sushi is not fresh anymore. I had some salmon rolls and in one piece there was a bone and another a fish scale.

We come here whenever we can! The food is amazing, big portions and all for great prices. The bibimbap, ramen, and beef all my favourite. But everything here is great, the sushi is fresh and tasty too. The staff are always helpful and lovely. We love the environment. It's chilled out and feels very welcoming.

Have been to this restaurant twice in the last 3 weeks - once as part of a trio and once as part of a duo. On the first visit I had the salmon Flakes Dish which was lovely - I don't recall which meals my friends had but they are regulars which speaks for itself. On the second visit my companion had the Chicken Teryaki which she said was superb and I had the Chicken Katsu Curry which unfortunately rather bland. i would give it 4/5 for the first visit and 2/5 for my second visit - Overll at the moment I would give it 3.5/5 as the toilets were nice and clean, the atmosphere is pleasant and the staff are helpful. Would I or my companions return? Yes, 2 are regulars. I returned with a different companion who would also return and despite the letdown with the Katsu Curry - I would definately return too

Good choice of Korean and Japanese favourites. Standard stuff but well done, generously served and enough variety to please most people. And friendly and efficient staff. My new go-to place whenever I’m hungry and in the area.

Happened to walk past here en route to an Arsenal match, had a bit of time before kick off so me and a friend decided to go in. Am glad we did, the food was fresh, portions were big and the waitress was very polite. I asked for chilli flakes, which I was then slightly over zealous with applying to my ramen!!

We just thought to try out this place since we were in the area. It’s really basic food and don’t expect a variety of dish on the menu as you would a full fledged Japanese or Korean food restaurant. What we had was as it should be and didn’t taste so bad. Food arrived fast and staff were friendly. Place is large and clean. Only two tables were occupied so maybe they do more food delivery business than walk in, we are not sure.

Every time I go, I loved it. The food is super good value. Plates are huge and prices are super economic. Ask for the stone Bibimbam!

I love the bibinbab here. We have been a few times for dinner and lunch. The staff are friendly. As this summer has been so hot they could have done with some AC and I'd love a few more veggie options on the menu, but if you are looking for a good local quick Asian meal out... this is the place to come!

Great sushi - fresh and very tasty. Prices for sushi and beer are reasonable too. Staff are friendly (though not Japanese). It's a place for a quick bite than a proper meal out. We will definitely go back as we really enjoyed our meal and it was great value.
