Visited this place today. Menu and everything seemed okay not too great. The customer service was awful and very disappointing, disrespectful. We ordered for a takeaway and sat for a while to check and repack. Disappointingly the staff came out to ask us to leave as we ordered for take away.

Ordered Unagi Don and Miso Ramen, both dishes were amazing. The Miso Ramen broth was so flavourful and the pork melted in the mouth. Good portion sizes and amazing service.

Absolutely delicious. Come here often and tried different bento boxes and sushis and they have all been fantastic. Definitely better than eat Tokyo. Service is good too.

Main dish (options: Chicken Teriyaki, Chicken Katsu, Salmon Teriyaki, Salmon Shio, Pumpkin Korokke (V) Would recommend the teriyaki over the katsu at this restaurant as it was more succulent. More sauce should be applied otherwise it's dry, and the portions are a bit small as you can see in the picture. You can also get bubble tea here, limited options it's okay. For the same price it's probably worth a walk to a bubble tea specialist.

It was delicious and cosy place

Went there for a quick lunch being a uni student and the service was very welcoming. I had a miso ramen which was nice however I felt I was just given the fat portion of the pork on it. Otherwise the atmosphere is nice it feels like you have walked in to a restaurant in Japan. The only reason why I gave it a 4 star for atmosphere is because the kitchen can be tucked away or shown and displayed properly rather than having kitchen utensils on display. Overall a nice experience and will be going back.

Always amazing food and good service here, food is affordable, and fast so is a great place to go for a quick lunch. I recommend their lunchtime set menu.

First time In this restaurant,and might say there is no difference between London and Aburi. Swift service,great recommendations,they even got a sweet plum wine. Plus it’s in a middle of gorgeous “old town street” Cherry on a top they were only place who,helped me to charge my phone. Big up for that. For was great, as especially for a price which they ask for. See you next time!

I did deliveroo and absolutely enjoyed the food. It is rare to eat raw shrimp sushi in London so I was delighted to find them! The rolls were all very nice too. They gave us enough chopsticks and soysauce which also was a plus. They were a bit slow in preparation but we ordered a lot so😀

Ordered sushi from here on Deliveroo - all the sushi rolls were drowning in sauce. Not sure why they do this. Soggy sushi doesn't taste great.

Excellent and authentic Japanese food, was my second time going in a week and I’d do it again! The sushi is very very good and I also liked the tonkatsu curry. Prices might be a bit high however it is so worth it, given how good the taste is.

Delicious local Japanese restaurant, far better than others in the area. The lunchtime special Chicken Teriyaki with Gyoza and miso soup is excellent: well cooked, good quality chicken, perfectly crisp on top Gyoza and miso soup as it should be. Highly recommend.

Wouldn’t recommend this place. I don’t think the chef is Japanese, so you won’t be getting authentic Japanese food here. Also the waitress was quite rude. As I planned to leave, she noticed that I didn’t finish my drink and asked me if there’s anything wrong with it (in a very unpleasant tone) as if she’s blaming me for not finishing the drink?? She made me very uncomfortable and I will never go back again.

On one of the hottest days of the year I noticed that this restaurant had a sign outside offering bottled water for delivery drivers. I love sushi and also believe one good turn deserves another. I went in and was greeted warmly, although I was the only customer it was late in their lunch service. I ordered the bento box, seaweed salad and a beer. The service was quick, friendly and the food was excellent. As I was leaving the waitress gave me a free bottle of water for my journey. I will go back when I'm in the area again.

Ordered bento, was roughly 23 with service fee. I'll say it's worth the price. Tempura was perfectly fried, sashimi was delicious and the slices were generous, fish and the sauce on it was also delicious. The price is a bit high but worth it.

Never going there again, had a very unpleasant conversation with a member of staff over the phone blaming me for ordering and not showing up based on me saying my FIRST name only. I was regular customer for quite a while and it came as a huge surprise that they remembered me as a cheating customer I never was rather than a person that once ordered over 15 bento boxes and carried them single handedly, LOL. I totally understand the practice of blacklisting customers for certain things, but you need to be sure it's the right guy. I felt so insulted, ruined my day. Shame!!!

Had a takeway tempura bento last week and was really impressed! It contained some slightly pickled/vinegared cabbage and some tamago too which was a nice suprise! Wasn't expecting it to be as tasty as it was so really quite happy and will be going again.

Very surprised by this little Japanese restaurant, food was delicious and the ingredients tasted very fresh, me and my friends ordered the Donburi, chicken katsu curry and sashimi! Highly recommended. Very friendly staff as well

Fabulous little gem! The tempura batter was light, tasty and not overly oily, gyozas had perfect texture and juicy inside, and the rolls are out of this world. My favourite was the unagi rolls, unfortunately I was too eager to dig in and didn't take pics. I know I will be back for bento boxes next!

Sadly the staff are a bit rude and I think racist. I was here for lunch, had my sushi served to my table. Was half way through eating it when a large group walked in. The staff member told me to move to another table quite rudely. Not wanting to cause a scene as I needed to be at my work appointment on time, I complied and moved to another table with my plate and drink. One of the people from the large group thanked me. Nothing said from the staff or owner of this. Really coloured my experience of this place. I don't subscribe to racism or rudeness in any form. So will not be back, as they seemingly favour and give precedence to certain customers over others.

Excellent sashimi, the lunch bentos are superb value, backed by friendly service. We loved the food so much that all 3 of us ended up doing takeaways for our partners to taste. If there was one thing to improve it would just be the jasmine tea, rest everything is flawless.

I visit this restaurant all the time with my family and the food is usually good. However I ordered a take-way last night and I was charged£6.79 for one single TINY slice of aubergine. I could not believe my eyes and I certainly will not be ordering anything again. It was embarrassing!!

Simply excellent. Japanese food in London is abysmal compared to my home country so I was pleasantly surprised by how fantastic this place is. Portions are huge, the food is delicious and the owners are so friendly. Expect longer wait times because they make everything to order, but it's worth it! Can't find a single bad thing to say otherwise.

I was delighted when this cosy Japanese restaurant opened very close to my front door! And Goswell Road has certainly needed it, as we have few choices for smart eating out around here. Go at lunchtime if you can , when the Bento boxes are great value, be it with tempura vegetables in fairy-light batter, or salmon teriyaki. And their tofu in a heavenly broth is worth fighting for. And you'd never know the chefs are Chinese, not Japanese..

Very affordable, healthy, and good quality food! We loved the teriyaki bento box and enjoyed the free miso soup. Would definitely recommend this place for easy to eat Japanese if you are around the area.

Aburi has a small 'no frills' interior but produces excellent affordable Japanese food. I have been several times and the standard has been consistently high.

Aburi is my fav japanese restaurant in this part of London. The fish is super fresh, the tuna especially is to die for. Staff are lovely, quick service and moderate price.

I like this place, it's pretty no nonsense. That price for the lunch bento is reasonable but the portion size is slightly smaller than at other bento places. I had really nice sales mackerel and the ramen was also nice. Food is good quality and delicious, also, they're open on Sundays which is great in this area of London.

I ordered A Pint of Beer Asahi which came up not filled properly as per the standard and i i had to send it back and than the measure was correct. For food i ordered Spicy Tonkotsu Miso Ramen as i like Ramen, i said let me try the above one, it was not that good but will give an average rating. On the other tables for other customers in a bowl may be soup or a tea was served like a welcome drink and i was neglected and not served which made me felt why i came to this restaurant where i am not treated well... I went to the counter to ask for the receipt, being given worst service they put 12.5% service charge which i asked to remove as i was not pleased with the service they offered and they way they treated me being a customer. Also when i told the lady who served me about why m not paying the service charge instead of talking in English to the Chef, she started speaking in her own language which is not right and i was not knowing what they are communicating. Please avoid this place as the waitresses dont know to treat the customers. Thanks. I would go in Wagamama and grab food to go and enjoy it rather than expecting better service standards at this place. Avoit it

The food tasted awful. I'm not an expert in sushi and I enjoy a lot average quality sushi like the one from chains, but I couldn't even force myself to finish this one..

This is a Chinese-run restaurant. I asked if the rice in a bento I was interested in could be swapped out for a fried egg, because I wouldn't be eating the rice, and the waitress went to ask the chef in Chinese. He was very rude to her when he asked why, and said "I have no time". They were all standing around doing nothing and it appears it didn't occur to him that I could understand their entire exchange perfectly. I didn't like his attitude so I left. The waitress was lovely and polite. Chef, I asked because I'm on a specific diet for this week, and I didn't want to waste your food. The silliest thing was that I was sitting facing a woman who had just finished her meal and had not touched her rice. So when I'm off this diet after this week, I'll know not to come back. Great job!

I saw the review they discount 20% if we pay in cash, but they didn't. Maybe now is changed. Good taste but every food was small a bit. Expensive. Staff didn't smile even though they take 12% service fee...

Not the most authentic japanese tried... just average

Whether authentic or not, topping Gyu Don with mayonnaise is simply awful.

The food here was excellent and we had a really good lunch once again. Lovely fresh fish, and we tried the tempura moriawase which was very good indeed. Service is cheerful. It's clearly very popular with people for deliveries, and every now and again a driver would pop in, which might put some people off as it's quite a small restaurant. But it's definitely worth visiting. It feels like a bit of a hidden gem, and the best place to sit would be in the window where there is a table for two.

Came in today around 5.10pm for a quick dinner and told the waitress hence I did get my sashimi sushi dinner set by 5.30pm. Raw fish slices were fresh and well chilled. The wasabi was strong which is how I like it. Overall a good experience.

For the record, we like the food from Aburi and have always been a loyal supporter since the restaurant first appeared on Deliveroo. However, as with most restaurants which ultimately fail, Aburi decided to increase their prices whilst reducing the quality and portion size. The best examples are the Bento Boxes whose prices have been increased by 25% to £20.50, while the sashimi no longer has tuna and the chicken teriyaki only has fewer pieces. It often makes me wonder why restaurants always arrogantly think that they can get away with it!? The consumers are not blind.

Second time to visit this restaurant within a week as the first time was so good. Had one of the bento boxes today. All was excellent; tempura, salmon and tuna sashimi and chicken teriyaki. Infact this small place which is more of a local eatery is extremely good. For basic good quality, fresh food and especially sushi/ sashimithis is one of the best Japanese restaurants in London. Highly recommended and worth taking a little effort to get here!

A very small but clean restaurant that provides very fresh food closed to the escape room Angel. We ordered 4 plates to share between 4 girls for £61 and it feels just ok.

Found this little gem recently. The price is a little too high, but the food is addictive. Try the teriyaki salmon donburi.

We loved this place: it's a small unassuming simple restaurant which I'd recommend for lunch. It is very well priced, and it was notable how delicious and fresh the fish was that we had - the tuna in particular was wonderful. I'd highly recommend it!

The first time I found a hair in the dish in London. I ordered a chirashi don. The solution they offered me is to make a new one for me, I agreed since I simply want to have a dinner. But guess what, the second chirashi don doesn't contain the same element as the first one. When I question them why the crab sticks are missing they said nothing and simply added to the don. Never trust a Japanese restaurant opened by CHINESE! I don't have the picture of the hair as I didn't decided to write such comment when they said they will make a new one. What really irritated and annoyed me is their attitude, when I found out there were something missing from the second don.

Can’t believe I have never been to this place! I work around this area and the food options for asian food is pretty scarce. So glad I found this place! Food is great, authentic enough for London. Sushi is fresh, portions are huge for the price, and service is adequate. Teriyaki chicken Bento set is only £7.50!

First time going here and the food and service was amazing! Pictured is the Chicken Katsu curry which was delicious and I also had the Geso Kara (deep fried squids) which were great starters. Would definitely come back here again.

Had several takeaways here and enjoyed them all, especially think that the £7.50 Bento boxes are great value as they come with Miso soup.
