Aziziye Restaurant in Hackney

Tasty food with Turkish peaceful ambience. We were seating in one of the rooms where you sit on cushions on the floor. The room provides privacy and coziness. The Turkish tea at the end of our meals were great too. I highly recommend the mix kebab and the ayran! The mosque upstairs is perfect too, ensuring you don't miss out on obligations.

One of the best Turkish restaurants in London, the authentic decor, floor seating and exquisite food makes it an experience every time. Have been coming for years and whenever I am in London it's a must visit.

I came here today after meaning to come here a long time ago. I only heard good things about this place, and finally got to come here. The food was absolutely amazing. We got the platter to share between 4, so we got to taste abig of everything. The starters was also great. We were hungry, so we finished the bread from the starters pretty quickly. They noticed it and gave us more bread, which they kept topping up through the whole time we were there (they don’t charge extra for that). We also ordered a couple lahmacuns too, which was the best lahmacun I’ve ever had! The food there was 10/10! The place was very clean and tidy too. We got a Turkish tea at the end too, and the gentleman serving us offered more tea, even after we paid already.

1. The food is really delicious. 2. Because it was a group, 100 people ate at the back of the restaurant’s main building. 3. The atmosphere there was not very good. 4. Nevertheless, it was a restaurant I wanted to visit on a personal schedule.

Had the mix grill was 10/10 the lamacun was best I've had good price good portions

Went here for an early lunch, customer service was really good, I was gutted that lamachun wasn’t ready but we did go early. So keep that in mind if you wanted to go for the Turkish pizza (they start that after 12pm) Turkish food never fails to disappoint with light but unique flavours. This restaurant also has a mosque at the back, so a really good added bonus and they have the private room if you don’t Want to be seen. They don’t do Pepsi and cola for good reasons, so your drinks will be the next best to that. The waiter was friendly and showed care. There is a step before you enter the restaurant. There isn’t any parking near by for free but you can pay and park. Local bus pass through so it’s easy to come here on transport as well. I would recommend the lamb beyti and The falafel.

My friends and I ate there several times, and each time it was really good! The chef's beyti, in particular, was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is very clean and spacious. Also, Yilmaz took great care of us!

It's really delicious. I don't know what the three types of sauces are, but it tasted the best when spread on bread and eaten with various meats. However, the sauce has a strong scent of spices and coriander (found in the salad), so people with sensitive skin may find it difficult to eat. (I like it, but...) He enjoyed the rice and meat.

The server yilmaz made sure we had all our food ready and made sure it came wuickly as we was in a rush big thanks to him the food was all seasoned and cooked perfectly.

After researching on the internet, we come the first recommended 45-minute drive to eat Cağ Kebab. It is said that Cağ kebab is not made. You are deceiving people.

I went there with my nephew purposely because they serve Halal dishes and to our surprise the food was deliciously delicious 😋 and the staff were great 👍 especially Mr Yilmaz 👍👍👍 who was exceptional. Very hard working man and paying attention to us and other customers by checking if we are ok. We were very happy with his services. I recommend Aziziye restaurant to all.

The Adana Kebab I ate at the Turkish Restaurant I was invited to for dinner was good, it could have been a little spicier. The other people at the table ordered Iskender kebab. Kebab seemed different to me because the doner was more like minced meat doner, rather than leaf doner. I guess this is what Alexander the English way is like. We wanted künefe and rice pudding for dessert. Frankly, I don't know what the rice pudding was like, but after the künefe I ate in Mardin, I think I will never find that taste anywhere else. After all, I think you should eat every meal in its own city and cuisine. As for the venue, I found it interesting that it had different seating areas. It is a very suitable place for group dinner parties. Another feature of the place is that it is a place that can be easily preferred by those looking for a halal restaurant. As you know, this is a bit difficult abroad. But England is one of the countries where you will not have any difficulties in this regard due to the large Muslim population. As for the service we received, the staff hosted us nicely. We would like to thank Mr. Yılmaz for helping us.

We came for a quick kebab but decided to sit down and found the whole experience to be a pleasure. Food was super fast and amazing, staff are friendly, and service was terrific. Yilmaz was very attentive and accomodating.

Our first visit to this lovely restaurant in its glorious building after living in Hackney for a LONG time. As starters we had humus and cacik and really amazing sigara boregi - very freshly made and delicious - the best I have ever eaten. We had delicious lamb shish and lamb doner, very fresh salad. Though I love Turkish wines, the restaurant doesn't serve alcohol - it is in a mosque - so we had a jug of mango lassi which was fantastic and I didn't miss my Cankaya a bit - for once. Yilmaz totally lived up to his reputation on the reviews here as a very attentive guide through the menu and a friendly waiter!

Absolutely amazing restaurant, highly recommend. This is my 2nd time visiting and I remembered why I loved it the first time round. The private seating area is so ideal and comfortable, and the staff are super friendly and communicative! The food in particular was worth every penny!!! It was very easy to pray as well, given that it’s just below a mosque.

The waiter Ahmet served us today. We come to this amazing restaurant all the time but Ahmad served us really well. Food was really good, didn’t have to wait long at all, we got the Platter mixed grill for 2 people. It came as a selection of grilled meats on a bed of rice; chicken shish, lamb shish, chops, wings, ribs and kefta, along with a really nice green salad and a selection of sides such as hummus, cacik, and ezme which were delicious! It was a lot of food for us and we couldn’t finish it! Service was great. We enjoyed our private area sitting on the comfy floor sofas in our booth. There are different sized booths depending on how large your group/family is. Would definitely recommend and will be returning InShaaAllah. Also useful to have the masjid attached- just make sure you get there before the end of Isha prayer as the masjid does close after that time.

Conveniently located right at the mosque, this place offers authentic flavours that truly stand out. The portions are generous, and I highly recommend trying the lamb—it’s absolutely delicious! Excellent value for money, too. A fantastic dining option!

We visited as a family of four and asked for a room with floor cushions for privacy. Initially, the staff claimed all rooms were fully reserved, but this was not true. but after some back and forth, we were given a room that was clearly free. The other rooms stayed empty for the entire hours we were there, which made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. We ordered the Platter for 2, extra naan, and drinks for around £50. The food was delicious with generous portions, and the Turkish ambiance was peaceful. However, no complimentary Turkish tea was offered, which is usually standard in other Turkish restaurants. The mosque upstairs is a great feature for those wanting to pray.

Food was excellent. The heating was not on. it was very cold when we complained, told by the manager / owner that heating is not working 😞. The guy was not very courteous. Waiting staff were good but the manager/owner was quite rude.

Yilmaz is a very hospitable young man who made me feel welcome and comfortable in the restaurant. He served my family and I with the utmost care and respect. Visited for the first time at the weekend. We got: Platter for 2 Lahmacun Lamb beyti The food for the most part was good, nothing was absolutely amazing. Only complaint with regard to the food was that the lamb shish was quite dry and a little tough. They kindly allowed us to swap the chicken shish for lamb donner. This was actually quite enjoyable and had a nice bit of char on it. Bless, the guy serving our booth was not well but still did his best to accommodate us and serve us promptly. When we called to make the booking the man who answered was quite abrupt. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt that he may have been particularly busy getting ready for service. The floor booths are very cosy and comfortable. Really nice touch that we enjoyed as a family.

The best Turkish cousin restaurant in London. We had 2 platters mix grill that was absolutely delicious. As a Turkish, I found the meal's taste exactly same like in Turkey. Highly recommended with the warm and friendly stuff. Thank you for our delicious food experience and beautiful place.

The manager was very rude . Asked if I can have seating in the private booth as I had my family with me . Gave me a very rude reply and did NOT allow me to use them even though there were a few booths empty . I phoned in before I arrived and was told they will be available . The food was not to satisfactory standards either for the price they charge and the portions are tiny . Would NOT recommend or there ever again

The food quality was fairly good. However, the service was awful. We was rushed to eat our food and when we requested tea the manager refused to give us tea in a horrible manner. He spoke to us rudely throughout the time we were there. I do not recommend.

Updated review 30/08/24: The once pleasant customer service has considerably deteriorated, the manager was strangely stand-offish from the get go and wasn't very pleasant to speak to over the phone or in person. The closing time was clearly stated as 11pm but we were constantly being reminded that they would be cleaning up at 10:30pm. We arrived at 10pm and had finished eating by 10:20 so as not to cause any inconvenience, the bill was hastily brought to us and when we requested tea we were told that we've already been accommodated for and that tea wouldn't be provided. A word of advice, regardless how successful your business is, a quick way of losing once loyal customers is to make them feel as if they are doing you a favour by visiting your establishment. A kind word and maybe 5-10 minutes of your time goes a long way. Old review below: Very easy to call and make a booking and generally the customer service is good. One of the few places in London that offer a traditional Turkish private dining experience, this is one of the reasons my family and I really enjoy coming here. The booths are kept clean and it's really nice to sit on the floor and enjoy a slightly more intimate setting than a usual restaurant, I'd urge others to try this for themselves. Food is always brilliant and gets served surprisingly quickly. Only complaint would be that sometimes the pizza/bread oven closes rather early. Also prices have gone up slightly recently but this isn't too uncommon to see.

I've been here a few times in the past and the food and service was very nice. For whatever reason the manager today wasn't very nice rushed us to leave at 10:30 and refused to give us tea. Very disappointing i won't be coming back soon.

One of the halal places where alcohol not sold, comparing to other restaurants on a street. This one is 100% halal, I advice fellow muqmin to go here and avoid other Turkish restaurants where they sell alcohol

I traveled 250 miles to eat cag kebab. And what I was told is they had it long time ago and they weren’t doing it now. When I asked why didn’t update their web sites, the answer was “ we don’t care and don’t have time” so unfortunates

Overall good restaurant. Some items in the menu are fantastic and some are normal. Service is fair enough but prices are a bit high compared to the quality of food. The chops were not edible at all, like if I’m eating plastic!

We ordered lahmacun and ribs from Uber, even though I wrote a note, the lahmacun was spicy, not crispy, it was like dough, the meat in the rib was hard, tasteless and undercooked, the package was sloppy and of poor quality, I did not like it at all and was not satisfied.

Excellent and Authentic Turkish food. Meats and Kababs served fresh off the grill. Chicken Kabab and Adana kabab were juicy and flavorful. Highly recommend getting their Mix Grill Platter

Went here today. Amazing sitting and good privacy especially for my niqabi sisters. Couldn’t believe myself when I found a turkish restaurant that didn’t serve any alcohol. We ordered the mixed grill came with a few sides. The food itself was very nice. Especially loved the chicken wings and adana kebab so flavourful. However found ribs a bit stale. Overall would definitely visit again!

Fantastic food and brilliant service. I have been going to Aziziye for years, and the food is always 5-star. The servers are super friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu, so if you're ever stuck on what to order, be sure to ask for their recommendation. On our most recent visit, Volkan was our waiter, and he was very helpful and friendly. He gave us good recommendations on what to get, and it did not disappoint. The service he gave us was exceptional, and he was always available should we have a request, which I'm sure is a reflection of the entire waiting staff at Aziziye. There is also a mosque attached to the restaurant, which is convenient, as there are no issues with finding a place to pray. The food is also HMC halal. Will definitely be going again. P.S. They also provide high chairs for babies. They also do a lahmacun for £4, which is a good portion size, and is enough to fill you, especially for young children/teenagers.

A nice restaurant on the ground floor of Aziziye Mosque. Halal food. There are options such as soup, döner, lahmacun, kebab, pilaf and tea. The food is delicious and of high quality. There is also a grocery store and butcher here.

The dining area is superb with family privacy also being available. The taste of the food is quite decent . The price was very expensive. Be prepared to pay extra for eating in. Example of eat in price difference: take out price= £15.50 eat in price= £17.50

Early afternoon, relaxed lunch after a walk in nearby greenery. Two fab kebabs and tasty salad with an excellent waiter looking after us.

Been wanting to go to this place on recommendation of my neice.. Very cramped seating due to the cubicles which is a nice idea but not for everyone. Secondly the atmosphere was a bit dead maybe some ambient music or something. Food wise was nice nothing special to make me run back. The Jumbo platter could of done with a little more in regards to the price. The best thing I loved was that we Prayed in the mosque behind the Restaurant which was absolutely stunning. I would give Aziziye a 7/10
