Avebury Avenue Fish Bar in Tonbridge and Malling

Went today, 20/09/2024. Absolutely brilliant. The owner is never too busy for a bit of chat whilst he's cooking. The fish bar is spotlessly clean with old school pictures and decorations. The large cod I had was lovely and crispy as were the chips.

Popped in as really fancied some chips after driving to pick something up. Friendly service and fast. Food was cooked perfectly and not greasy. Well worth the money.

The cleanest fish & chip shop I've ever seen! Fantastic customer service, and a history lesson on the shop too. The original old-school tiling and signage gives great character, and inside it is a modern set up. 10/10 food. Perfect crisp fish, paired with traditional style chips. Best in Tonbridge.

Normally my favourite chippy but the fish was really soggy underneath and the curry sauce was really watery I’m not sure £16 was worth it the fish wasn’t worth £10.50

We recently moved to Tonbridge and went here for the first time tonight, best Fish and Chips we have had in a long while and the atmosphere inside was brilliant, will certainly be going back on the regular, thank you!

Great take away. Friendly staff, good food. My kids love it and it's one of their treats. Works out at about £6.00 for sausage and chips which is a fair price. It's normally busy which is always a good sign.

I have been going here for years. Food is always very good and hot. There are quite a variety of items on the menu. Also owners are very pleasant. Would recommend.

Batter has to be nice & crispy for me, unfortunately the batter was wet inside which put me off straight away & the chips looked anaemic. In my opinion definitely not worth the money !

Ordered cod and haddock tasted like neither , fish was dry batter was soggy and all of the food was swimming in oil , it was absolutely disgusting , do not recommend

Hadn’t been here for many years, so thought I’d pop in for a nostalgia run and wasn’t disappointed. Chips are still lovely, tasty with a slight crisp to them. Perfect. Battered sausage was light and crispy, as well as overall everything being reasonably priced and well portioned. Service is fantastic and very dedicated - the man who I think was the owner was a good guy, up for a conversation and hard working. I’m happy that such an old staple of Tonbridge is still here and going strong. Will come again!

Great little fish and chip shop. Quick service, and tasty food. Popped in as I felt a bit peckish on the way past and got myself some food, was served nice and quick much to the delight of my rumbling stomach. Usually not a fan of chunky chips, but the ones here were done really nicely. £5 minimum on the card so beware of that before you go in.

I have been a customer of Avebury avenue fish bar for many many years, they were a well loved lunchtime treat on occasion when my daughters were younger , now they are an occasional treat for all the family.with the covid situation I have been very wary about having a takeaway, after 3 months everyone in the family wanted a treat so the only take away I felt comfortable getting was from Avebury avenue. Always lovely friendly staff, Clean and well kept premises And great fish and chips What more could you ask for Great place, give it a try you won't regret it!

My wife and myself had been up to London for the day. We called in here for Cod and chips to takeaway on our return to Tonbridge. We have had food from here a few times over the years. Freshly cooked fish so we waited a little while. Price was reasonable, fish and chips tasty.

Still the best in the increasingly competitive Tonbridge chippy wars! Portions big, fish nice and meaty, and not hanging around for too long. Maybe slightly too greasy at times, so have some kitchen roll handy if you're counting calories.
