Nice friendly staff, but the Parma ham focaccia had one measly slither of the good stuff which was drowned in the bready focaccia and other flavours. Don’t skimp on the jamon to save money please.

Lockdown visit well worthwhile, ditch the chains come here! Great sandwich had the parma on focaccia, good coffee and a delicious crumble slice. Well worth a visit

As we are in lockdown we couldn't go inside but ordered at the door. All the staff were friendly and well-organised. All covid rules were taken seriously. I had a cup of tea which was perfect and my friend had a latte. Will definitely go again next time we are in Ilkley and hopefully may be able to sit inside! 10/10

Well located coffee shop near the main car park in town. Slightly limited menu at the moment compared to previous visits. Staff as always attentive and helpful. Plenty of room to sit inside or outside. Fully aware of Pandemic issues. Has consistently satisfied our lunchtime needs when we visit.

We popped in here as it was pouring down outside, we had a coffee & a cherry scone with jam and clotted cream and have to say service was great, track & trace simple yet effective and drinks and food excellent, all in all a very pleased experience will return next time in Ilkley.

This was a good find for us in the current climate - 2 grandparents, our daughter and our 6-month old grandson, needing somewhere friendly, comfortable, sheltered but with plenty of ventilation, and not crowded. Avanti fitted the bill perfectly, on the edge of the main town centre car park an with attractive local shops all around. They’d got a couple of big windows open too, which made for a bit of a breeze but also reassurance that infection risks are lower. They did us a decent couple of pots of Earl Grey (in lovely solid cups and saucers) and a seriously indulgent hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows for our daughter - breastfeeding means it’s pretty well impossible to overeat, of course. And our young and delightful grandson charmed at least of one of the elderly customers and a waitress too: always a heartwarming experience ❤️. All in all a nice place, spotlessly clean and worth coming back to when we’re next here.

At last, I have found a place in Ilkley serving the best coffee (and believe me I have tried them all)! Visited on Thursday lunchtime and sat outside in the sunshine, what a lovely spot to take in the rays and enjoy a great flat white. We didn't eat on this occasion, but the food looked really appetising - maybe next time.

Having just walked out of a neighbouring cafe for non existant service. It was lovely to be greeted by the staff of Avanti. Great coffee and a delicious roasted veg sandwich.

Great coffee, tasty sandwiches, friendly staff! Got the caprese sandwich and wife got a slice of pizza. Sat outside on a sunny day, wonderful service, great spot for before or after a day out in town!

We came upon Avanti based right in the centre of the vibrant spa town of Ilkley - a perfect location to stop and enjoy a lunch time treat whilst browsing the fab shops that Ilkley has to offer. We had a light lunch followed by coffee and cake sat outside in the sunshine - what a PERFECT people watching spot!! The staff were kind, and tentative and despite the amount of customers, the service and communication were exceptional. We loved the atmosphere! We will definitely be returning soon!!

Had a lovely cuppa and Italian meringue cake and caramel shortbread. Staff friendly and accommodating. Definitely going back for lunch 😃

We are regulars at Avanti and always enjoy the atmosphere, we find all the staff very friendly, they make a great team. Our little dog is a fan and always welcomed with a little treat.They have the best flat whites in town together with yummy toasted teacakes. Today we had the homemade Ginger, walnut and meringue cake, delicious.

We visited Avanti last weekend and felt compelled to write this review. On our visit the food and coffee was of a high quality, and the cafe itself had a nice ambience. However, our experience was ruined by the uncomfortable atmosphere created by the manager on duty. You could clearly see that the staff were working very hard and running around like headless chickens, given that the cafe was so busy! The service wasn't the best, but this was understandable given the circumstances. What ruined the experience for us however was witnessing the disrespectful and deregotary way the manager kept speaking to her staff. We were sat near the coffee machine and overheard numerous patronising comments directed towards the staff behind the bar, who were clearly overrun with orders, and to be honest this made us feel very uncomfortable to witness throughout our visit.Avanti is a lovely spot but it's clear their management lack respect for their staff. As a couple who has worked in the hospitality industry for years, we would not return for this reason, as it left a very bad taste in our mouths.I didnt catch the managers name but she was an older female who spoke with an accent.

Had a lovely lunch. All covid regs adhered to. Clean and friendly. Toilets clean. The foccaccia bread with Palma ham and mozzarella was fresh and delicious. Good value for money. Would highly recommend and will be calling again. Thanks to all team.

Good coffee house with decent selection of beverages and snacks, we had the pepperoni pizza and it was spot on. Staff are nice and good location just on the edge of the main car park

Brilliant homemade parma ham and mozzarella focaccia along with a bacon and egg muffin. Fantastic service as well. My partner and I asked them to cut it in half so we could share them and they produced us a box of food each with half of each sandwich in. Very thoughtful- they really care about their customers!

Excellent pizza and ice cream, lovely service and the owner/manager was very friendly. Highly recommend! Will go back again

On a very hot day we went here for lunch and sat outside. We both had toasted sandwiches and the bread was thick and crusty and filled to the brim; accompanied by a small tasty salad. We also chose the iced coffee which was delicious and refreshing. Overall a lovely lunch and better value than the well known coffee chains. The staff were friendly and attentive which goes a long way these days.

Was our first visit here and will be the last, I'm not tight by no means but paying nearly £6 for a toasty and a few crisps takes the cake. A can of pop is £2.50!!! Could of gone to a Brazilian Rodizio for lunch for a little bit more than we paid with unlimited meat and salad. Toast on one toasty was greasy and not toasted

Last time I tried to get in here it was standing room only so that says something about this cafe's popularity . Small interior but outside seating available in appropriate weather conditions . Excellent 'cuppa' that really tasted like coffee , and it's an independent establishment too . Plenty of snacks available to suit all tastes .

Stopped here for lunch. Recommended their special, an avocado, bean and roasted sweet potato salad. I normally don’t even like avocado but I had it and it was delicious!! Friendly and helpful staff. Free WiFi and excellent coffee. Viva the independent coffee houses!!

Visited Avanti today with my business partner (& wife)My choice of food was a brie, walnut & fruit chutney sandwich & an Americano coffee avec extra shot.Bloody brilliant! The sandwich was gorgeous, such a satisfying walnut crunch & great taste.The coffee is always excellent. I can only vouch for Americano or Espresso though. But that's the real stuff & Avanti do it well, so that's all that concerns me.Good & pleasant service as always.The place has a good continental vibe which I'm fond of too.Cheers xx

Quite a modest coffee house visually, but the small black americano was simply divine; coffee at its best that could sit proudly alongside the finest that money could buy! All connoisseurs of coffee must make the effort - you won't be disappointed. The bacon muffin was yummy too! Will definitely be paying more visits.

A really excellent, independent coffee house where everyone - including your dog! - is made really welcome. So nice to be able to enjoy super food and excellent coffee in this dog-friendly town without having to leave an important member of the family tied up outside!

Called in for Sunday lunch which we have done on many occasions not always Sundays but never in the company of dogs and I don't think I was on my own many a stern face why do people think it's ok to bring dogs into a cafes and restaurants if they were a sign saying dogs welcome I wouldn't enter so will not be going again

We were in Ilkley last week and popped in here for lunch. We both had toasted sandwiches which came with either salad or crisps and teas and coffees and lemon drizzle cake. The food was very tasty. It was busy but after a while it quietened off and we were the only ones left. Very relaxing and friendly clean little coffee house. Will definitely pay another visit.

This is an excellent place for coffee, hot chocolate, milkshakes or teas, and the food is good quality. It is a popular spot for parents and their children which is great but if you are looking for a quiet time then certain times will need to be avoided.

We had lunch here on Bank Holiday Monday. It’s a small cafe and was quite busy however we found a table without having to wait. For lunch the cafe offers the usual fayre of sandwiches and toasted sandwiches. I ordered a tuna sandwich and my husband and daughter ordered a cheese and ham toasted sandwich. For drinks we ordered a pot of tea and an espresso and a can of pop. The order was brought to the table quite quickly considering how busy they were. My tuna sandwich was delicious, plenty of filling in a fresh brown roll with salad at the side. The toasted sandwiches were just as good, nicely toasted so the cheese was melted but the sandwich was still soft inside, made with nice white bread. You could choose to have salad or crisps on the side.

Met up with friends on a Sunday morning and sat outside drinking coffee and eating toast. Great, quick service and friendly staff who still had time to stop and chat even though they were very busy.

Stopped here for coffees. Not the cheapest but great coffee. Lovely outside and inside space just off the main road. Would definitely return.

Enjoyed a hot, decent sized coffee here recently. In fact, when I met up with my husband about an hour or so later, I suggested we have lunch there. We were not disappointed, as we were served promptly with a delicious toastie. The waiting staff were really pleasant and looked after all their customers. I was especially impressed because I experienced a coughing fit and was presented with a glass of water without even having to ask. I would make a point to visit this coffee house when I next return to Ilkley.

I had lovely lunch today with my partner at Avanti Coffee House. First things first I am a wheelchair user. Access was easy and the staff very helpful in getting to a table of my choice. We’re big coffee fans and might be called choosy. No problem here as the coffee was delicious. That even do a very decent decaf processed with water rather than chemicals. My other half had a very generous club sandwich and given his ooohs and ahhhhs while munching away I can safely say he thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a bacon and avocado sandwich which was delicious, the best I’ve had. The fresh bread and generous side salad were top notch. We will definitely eat there again and would recommend it to my friends. Thank you Avanti

Called in today for the first time and had a really good Americano. I love coffee and like to go to different cafes but so many times I simply cannot taste the coffee but not here- it was excellent. The bacon muffins were good too and it is a lovely, light cafe with nice seating, newspapers etc. We will return soon.

Just had lunch , it’s the first time we have eaten here , it was absolutely lovely. Had the club sandwich well worth the money. Will definitely go back.

Plenty of Coffee shops in and around Ilkley but we chose Avanti as we've been before and reviewed it positively, unfortunately where there's a positive there's definitely an Negative, whether it has new owners or not, the staff were deflating, not warming at all, felt...

I got ripped off here just because I ordered something that wasn't on the menu (eggs on toast) a very basic thing you would think. They were very reluctant to do this but I was very polite and smiled a lot, something the waitress didn't...

Visited for morning coffee with friends - excellent, friendly service and lovely coffee. Good position right next to large car park. We only had coffee but others were enjoying what looked like very tasty food.

Went for a mid-afternoon drink and snack. The place is a tight squeeze but nicely appointed. The prices were at the upper end for the type of establishment. The offerings were good quality but the coffees were lukewarm. PThe letdown was the staff. They were just going through the motions. A smile makes all the difference and results in better tips!!

Best coffee in Ilkley. Before 11.30 good deal with coffee and tea cake. Good service.

Called in with my wife, approached the counter and asked if they did a bacon sandwich.

It's nice to have proper coffee not the rubbish most places churn out. This you can tell is quality produce. Snacks also follow suit, really delicious. We even had an ice cream to take out with us on our walk, again truly amazing.

My partner and I were doing a bit of shopping and due to the cold wet weather decided on a quick warm up visit at Avanti. We made a decision to go somewhere new as we try to support the smaller Coffee shop and houses.

Our first visit to ilkley and found this little shop. Very friendly staff fantastic coffee and the toastie comes on lovely thick bread with plenty of filling. Highly recommend and we will be back.

A lovely little cafe in the heart of the town - a great people watching spot. The was great and was the service and cake selection.

Family day out and visited here. Friendly service accommodated 5 of us well. Coffee was lovely and even had ice cream cones for the kids which was lovely. Best cafe in Ilkley!

This is a lovely little café, the coffee is always great. They also have nice cakes and toast etc. More of a place for coffee and toast or cake rather than a lunch place. At the moment you can get a toasted teacake for £1 when you buy a coffee, which is excellent value!

Our second visit. This time for breakfast. We had a flat white coffee (nice and strong - just how we like it) and a toasted bacon and cheese sandwich. The coffee is served pretty quickly but our toasted sandwiches arrived just as our coffees were getting cold. I think next time I'll ask for my coffee at the same time. Lovely friendly staff and a busy, friendly ambiance to the place. We were even able to buy a loaf of their wonderful seeded brown bread :-) We will be back!

The Avanti is a small cafe with only around 8 tables inside, on a warmer day we would definitely have used the outdoor seating area. The sandwich selection was limited and fairly expensive, however the thick bread was lovely and my locally sourced ham tasted delicious. Our cappuccinos were beautifully presented and tasted as good as they looked.

Avanti serves some of the best coffee in Ilkley but after yet another disappointing visit, we won't be back. Even when the cafe is half full the time from being served to actually receiving drinks is woefully slow and often they arrive incorrect or incomplete (this time no milk for the Americano).The decision to put up the price of takeaway drinks while at the same time reducing the size of the cups and no longer giving away a biscuit now makes it one of the most expensive coffees in Ilkley. If everything about the experience was amazing it would be worth it, but it isn't and with so many other good coffee houses to choose from now, we'll be going elsewhere.

We called for a quick coffee and snack and wasn't disappointed. Its a busy cafe but it is worth waiting for. The staff are very helpful and the food is excellent. I love the situation of this cafe, it feels very cosy and a nice outlook. You can sit outside if the weather is nice and just watch the world go by.

I've always enjoyed my previous visits here.However, there was definitely something lacking on this occasion.The food at other tables didn't look as attractive as it usually does, & when the toastie was delivered to the table next to me, I got a bad feeling about the sandwich I had ordered. It was on thin sliced white bread.(Not the usual stuff which is thick & hand cut from a rustic loaf).Sure enough, my BLT arrived in processed pre-cut white bread.Perhaps they had run out & had to nip to the co-op & buy a loaf?But I got the feeling looking at the food on the tables around me that some cost cutting was going on.Nip to the loo before you leave,, but don't forget your wellies. Toilet was awful.C'mon owners, this is a nice place, but standards are slipping.

Lovely cafe with a friendly team of staff that always make you feel welcome. I only popped in for a take-away sandwich, i chose the Christmas special (Turkey, stuffing & cranberry sauce) and it was beautiful.

We had a great coffee and panini today in this coffee house. The place is very clean and welcoming. The staff are very accommodating and helpful and they serve good quality food that tastes really nice. We will be going again to this coffee house as its such a pleasant overall experience.

Great coffee, friendly staff, lovely macaroons- what more do you need? Wish we lived nearer.The staff were so friendly and cheerful. They seemed to enjoy their jobs and that gave the place a great atmosphere.

As a bit of a coffee snob I really enjoyed the rich and intense flavour of the small 'piccolo' glass at only £2. This was accompanied by macaroons which could be purchased singly and two were perfect with the coffee.

Love it's coffee house, cappuccinos are lovely, so is the earl grey tea, have also eaten here. Sat outside with our dogs, watching the world go by. Staff are really friendly.

We called for a mid morning coffee and toasted teacake, using their offer of that combination for £3.00. Twenty five minutes later the teacakes arrived and when we had nearly finished them the coffees arrived. The excuse:- we are busy and the tab with our order on had blown onto the floor and hence ignored. They must have all blown about as a lot of customers were grumbling. No complaints about the quality of any items but really they need to get it organised. Don't visit if you are in a rush or want food and drink at the same time.

This sells the best coffee and the food is great, but I can't believe how many times they run out of basics like toasted teacakes and scones. The main drawback is the speed of service. For a small place they seem to have loads of staff but the number of times that my coffee has been nearly cold before they bring the meal or snack is disappointing. No getting away from the fact though that the coffee is seriously good!

We've visited Avanti many times and I have reviewed it before on this site, however our most recent visit didn't meet expectations. I wanted to have a Houmous salad but the member of staff said that wouldn't be possible, so I went through the salad menu only to be told that chicken salad was the only one I could have. Despite this, I was offered houmous as a side for an extra 40p so I thought it was rather strange that I had to have chicken salad with a side of houmous rather than being able to have the houmous one. My friend chose the Caprese salad from the specials board but a mix up on their part led to her being brought a the wrong dish. To be fair, the staff did amend the mistake but they seemed a bit reluctant to do so. I also had to ask for my houmous after it was not brought with the initial order (despite being an extra 40p) The quality of the food was up to its usual standard though I felt that portions were small for the price we paid. In total, the lunch cost £17.00 for two salads and two drinks so it was not cheap so overall the experience left me feeling disappointed. It's not the first time we've had a long wait at Avanti, though usually we feel satisfied by the quality of food and service.

as this looked like a nice cooffe house wedecided to give it a try we wanted to order two cappachinos and two cakes we were informed that we would have to wait fifteen minuites for cappachinos as thy only had one coffee machine working and thy were busy this was a little dissapointing but we decided to have a coke each and chocholate cake which was very nice all the cakes are homemade the sevice was rarther slow dont think we will go back sorry

I'm a regular customer and I'm never disappointed. The coffees are delicious - and I do like the free biscuit! The service is always efficient and polite, the place is clean and comfortable, the tables are cleared promptly (and this doesn't happen in so many cafes) and the staff are always friendly and considerate. I recommend Avanti without any hesitation.

Carl and the team do great job, buzzy friendly atmosphere, good bacon muffins too! Lunch is a nice mix and great to be able to sit outside.

Visited a few weeks ago when visiting friends in Ilkley, and I was not disappointed. Lovely coffee house in a great setting with really friendly staff who were really attentive and warming. The hot chocolate was to die for and the fresh healthy food just puts it head and shoulders above other coffee houses. Definitely will return.

Stopped off here for a quick coffee following recommendation from TripAdvisor. We weren't disappointed. Lovely coffee and hot chocolate. Scones are very large and flapjack is soft and yummy.

We have used this little coffee shop for years & it has changed hands a few times. It's great for coffee & snacks. The thing that lets it down is the service. It can be quite disorganized & slow. On a few occasions recently they have forgotten our food order altogether & I have had to reorder it!

Visited here for lunch following a treasure hunt around Ilkley. Between us we enjoyed tuna crunch sandwiches and cheese and ham panini. All came with a side salad and were very nice. Perhaps a little over-priced.

I love the idea of an independent Coffee Shop and have used it through its various ownership's. The food is good and healthy with quick service and friendly staff. A real sun-trap when the sun shines

Called in for a late lunch after a long walk and this was a perfect stop. Comfortable and cosy with a good selection of teas and coffees. There was some tasty food on offer too. Both my friend and I are vegetarian and we had a delicious puy lentil salad with feta cheese ( a little more feta would have been welcome) fresh leaves and tomatoes. It looked and tasted very nice.

We stopped off whilst in Ilkley, the staff explained before we ordered there would be a 20 minute wait on food but given it was half term, we decided to order our lunch. Fantastic quality food and a wide menu, plus the specials board, though they had sold out of soup which was a shame. Nevertheless, we'll certainly be back!

Advertised as £4.50 for bacon muffin and coffee. What wasn't clear was if you ordered a large coffee there was no credit given. Child of 4 wanted a soft drink but had to pay full price for it and no allowance given for coffee not taken. So full price of £16.55 paid for what should have been much less. No apology or alternative given.

Friday afternoon whilst passing through Ilkley, we decided to stop for a coffee. Betty's was busy, so we popped round to Avanti. Approached the counter - 3 staff in attendance but no welcome from them. Thought it must be table service, so after waiting at the counter, we took a seat at a table. The coffee house was not busy, but the 3 staff made no approach to take our order, but preferred to stay behind the counter and have 'a chat'. Even after making eye contact, there was no sign of any of them wanting to make us feel welcome and take our order. Seemed like an age, but probably 2 minutes, we decided that our custom was not wanted so crossed the road to Cafe Nero; extremely warm and courteous welcome, lovely mocha and warmed chocolate cake with cream. As well dressed, middle aged couple, I couldn't understand why the Avanti staff failed to acknowledge us, but future stop-offs in Ilkley will not be at Avanti unfortunately!

Called in again at this lovely coffee house. The food is really well presented and tasty. The coffee is excellent. It gets busy like anywhere but the tables are wiped on a regular basis and the staff are very pleasant and welcoming. Will keep on calling here because apart from anything else the service and food is consistently good.

Called in after an afternoon raiding the Ilkley charity shops! So pleased that whichever of the chains it was that we went into didn't have a gluten free option worth considering. On entering Avanti we were warmly greeted and advised of the GF options. Decided on an Almond and Jam tart. I fancied a Mocha but don't like them too chocolatey and this was no problem. The prepared order was delivered to our table with a complimentary (end of the day) brownie (also GF). Everything was superb and the Mocha was perfect for my taste. Highly recommended.

Good food and plenty of it, stopped for a quick coffee and a bite to eat, the food came and what a plate full could have served two people and it was very tasty. would recommend a stop if you are in the area.

I have visited loads of times, it is a popular Coffee Shop and serves really good sandwiches, paninis and salads. A really good selection of cakes as well.Friendly young staff and always clean and tidy.

Dropped in here on the off chance and received a warm and friendly welcome from staff.Enjoyed a lovely lunch with my brother opting for the Avanti sandwich (take your appetite for that one) and me have a really lovely Humous and Red Pepper salad.The coffee was really good and for those who don't want to eat much there is a great selection of light snacks and cakes and pastries.Will certainly go again.

I am not a fan of coffee shops and do not normally frequent them. However, I was with a friend and we needed to have a chat and so we ended up here. I ordered orange juice and my friend had tea. My orange juice was freshly squeezed and without fault. My friend enjoyed her tea.The outlook is pleasing as is the decor. I will be back

Popped into Avanti today and what a little gem. The staff were really friendly coffee was fab and cake was simply delicious. I will be recommending this place to friends.
