Always a lovely welcome. You can go in for a pastry and coffee at cheap prices, or a more expensive meal. Owners go out their way to deliver good service, which is why they have repeat customers. Lasagne recommended with cheese. A rare gem. ✨️

Was on a weekend away with my husband and fancied some coffee and cake. Stumbled across this little gem. The staff are so friendly and that was evident in the fact the place was full of regulars. The menu looked great and we wished we’d been able to have a meal here. We settled for homemade apple/rhubarb pies, and the best baileys latte I have ever tasted. This is a little cafe that you might walk past…if you do you’ll miss out on good food, great service and a lovely atmosphere.

Avanti’s is a popular venue with locals for coffee and lunch as well as a catch-up with friends. Vanna & her staff are very pleasant and friendly. Excellent coffee and homemade cakes and pastries. The rhubarb tart is out of this world. Worth a visit if you’re in the town.

Recommend this restaurant with its Italian decor. Prices are very reasonable and food very good. The owner is very friendly and welcoming.

This place is a warm friendly cafe food is always delicious coffee and cake are just as delightful staff are so welcoming and friendly they always make you feel welcome even have time to converse always very busy if your looking for a great place this is it Vanna and Jim always make you welcome sometimes it's best to book a table but you definitely won't be disappointed

Go here often for a coffee or a snack - love the Spanish omelette! Good choice of snacks as well as scones, pancakes and cakes.

Brought the family for lunch after avoiding the chain restaurants in the town. The food was good, if basic. The service was friendly and everyone made to feel welcome.

A straightforward menu, classic Italian cafe/restaurant, great prices and such friendly, welcoming staff. The house wine is lovely and I love their lasagne and chips, served as a main with a starter portion of the lasagne, which is still a good portion size. The owner always puts us at ease when we have the kids with us unlike some places I've been to. My only gripe would be is that it closes too early. I would love it to be a cosy wee place me and the other half could go to at night for a romantic meal but as it is, it shuts around 4/5pm. I can't wait to go back.

I genuinely get sad when I can't get a table here. The interior has an authentic Italian bistro feel to it with plenty of character. The owners are lovely and you have to admire Vanna cheerfully buzzing about chatting to her customers, all the while serving and clearing tables. As well as your standard cafe staples like filled rolls and toasties, there are other options that are sure to appeal to people who may enjoy finer delicacies. Personally, my vote goes to the Cajun Chicken Burger which is a veteran of the Special Menu on the blackboard. And the Bolognese Pizza is fantastic too! If you're not too hungry then I would highly recommend a coffee and a cake. The atmosphere is like no other in Saltcoats or anywhere else close by for that matter. Sadly the cafe closes on Sundays and Mondays so you'll need to find somewhere else to beat those Monday blues.

Love this little cafe, the owners vanna and jim always welcome you with a smile jim does the cooking which tastes amazing , vanna runs the front shop she makes most of the cakes, scones, etc Herself, The likes of which are delicious the staff are lovely so friendly nothing is hard or impossible good food, good coffee, and most of all the friendliness you feel like family not customers

Lovely little restraunt in 1 of the busy streets of saltcoats offering good food well ran and spotless inside only thing I would say is open at night time with a small menu would do a good trade as the town has nothing to offer in the evenings all in all very well done

As a family we have eaten in Avanti's for years. Since moving back to the area in 1995. The food is always good, the service great and menu varied and versatile. It has a nice homely atmosphere and well worth the visit. In my humble opinion the best place for lunch or just a coffee in the 3 towns area. I can't believe it's taken me so long to give the place a review.

I go in here for lunch a couple of times a year on my working travels and I love the wee place. Relaxed atmosphere and great food. Their soup is always delicious and I also love their steak and onion roll, you cannae beat it. There always seems to be locals coming and going and the menu looks good, wish I had this place in my home town, I wouldnt be away from the place.

Came here as a child with my grandparents nice enough cafe, beautiful lasagne and the cakes are lovely. The staff are always happy yo help and welcome children. Very welcoming environment.

Our favourite restaurant. It is run by a lovely couple - Jim in the kitchen and Vanna front-of-house. This guarantees excellent food and a warm welcome, as both are excellent at their role. The soup changes daily (and Jim might be the best soup-maker in the world) and there is enough variety on the menu to suit every taste. Prices are very reasonable whether for a full lunch or just a coffee and cake. This is not a 5-star haute cuisine restaurant and the prices reflect that. It is also closed after 5pm, so don't turn up for evening dinner! Vanna and Jim and their staff make children very welcome - well, they just make everyone very welcome. The reviewer who found the food "expensive and uninspiring" is simply wrong. Highly recommended!

Food is expensive and uninspiring but the coffee is good. Service is haphazard. Tables are very close together so waiting staff struggle when it is busy.
