Excellent cod and chips for 2, freshly cooked, with a lovely glass of wine, very good price. Great service from friendly staff! We were very impressed. We've been to a number of fish shops in WSM and this is the best!

After walking in the town, we googled GF fish & Chips. Atlantic fish & Chip bar came up. We purchased a standard GF fish & chips + a normal Fish & Chips. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was cooked to order and the price under £10 each. Would recommend the Atlantic to people needing GF Fish & Chips 🍟 There is restaurant seating but closes at 2pm when we visited, so had to get take away.

Always enjoyed the gluten free fish and chips here but the portion size seems to of got smaller and for the fourth time in a row no gluten free curry sauce. 😩

Ordered via Just Eat. When delivered was missing parts of our order and the portion of Haddock (£9.95) was ridiculously poor and overcooked. Restaurant very unhelpful trying to resolve, so didn't bother asking for replacement food. Massively disappointed and will absolutely not order from here again and ended up going elsewhere to get a different meal at an extra cost. Annoying that restaurants hide behind Just Eat and don't actually actively deal with Customer problems, that's really awful customer service

We like it much better than 'pappas'. Fish exceptionally fresh and cooked to perfection. Tables spaced out so you can relax while eating. Restaurant bright clean and traditionally decorated. Been visiting Atlantic for several years always enjoyable.

Had the regular fish and chips and got loads of chips. The fish was pretty big and full and the batter was delicious! Much better than what you find on the waterfront

I have visited the Atlantic Fish Bar occasionally over several years and have never been disappointed. This is a friendly and relaxed restaurant that serves a good selection of food at reasonable prices. They cater for individual requirements including vegetarians and senior citizens with smaller appetites.

Freshly cooked great fish and chips

I had the gluten free fish and chips and sadly was the worst I've had, very tasteless and small. I tried calling a few times before arriving just in case I needed to pre-order but no one answered the phone. My partner had normal fish and chips and again was very small but said it tasted ok.

Second time here for a sit down meal and last time it was about 5 years ago. Not disappointed at all, great welcome from the lady working between the restaurant and the take away shop. We enjoyed a regular Cod and chips and a Large Haddock, chips and mushy peas. Delightful, very well cooked the fish tasted fresh, the batter crispy and the chips freshly cooked and what I describe as nice ‘dry’ chips. Portion size was very good and enjoyed it. Thoroughly recommend The Atlantic Fish Bar and Restaurant…..it might have been 5 years since we last visited the place, but it was a top notch meal yet again

I paid £34.40p this evening for the worst fish n chips I’ve ever tasted. The batter was dark brown. Stale chips… I shall never go there again…fruity curry sauce…no hint of curry….best thing about it was the bag they put the order in.

Ate here months ago with my husband and was delicious, unfortunately today tried again with my family & was horrible. Chips were old not fresh, Fish was smaller than the last, curry sauce was not curry sauce was more fruit purée - no curry flavour at all! Won’t be coming back or recommending. Even the dog wouldn’t eat it.

Used to go here but today was a complete let down, chips were old and dry got a sausage instead of battered sausage ironically my fish was the size of a battered sausage unfortunately will not use anymore the whole family were let down.

We planned an evening trip to Weston super mare to watch the sun set an get some fish and chips. After much review hunting we settled on Atlantic. We decided to drive to the front to eat them. The fish was at best passable, it needed lots of salt and vinegar which they had been so tight with I couldn't taste it. The chips were chunky and not cooked through so most were left and put in the bin. No forks, tissues and extremely greasy. I've given 3 as the food was passable but for the price I expected higher standards and nicer food. Next trip to the seaside resort and we will give a different chippy a go.

May not be on the main beach front, but this hidden fish and chip shop is worth the walk. Top food, friendly staff. It's worth the few minutes to walk, AND no seagulls to attack you and steal your food!!!!

After our disappointment at never being able to get a meal through Just Eat the mountain went to Mohammed and we went into town for a fish and chip supper at the Atlantic. We've always loved he food here and they didn't disappoint. I had haddock and chips with mushy peas and my partner had the scampi with onion rings and everything was cooked perfectly. 10/10

The last couple times I’ve got a battered sausage from here, they have been well over cooked , burnt brown crispy , instead of golden fluffy batter & the chips look undercooked and anaemic . Won’t be going here any more.

Just thought that I would treat myself to fish chips and mushy peas. I got there on Saturday for 2pm. I waited for about 7 minutes. I took the food home which took about 3 minutes I only live a couple of roads away. I was desperately disappointed, I believe that I was given reheated food. The only thing that was okay was the mushy peas. Won't be going back, ever again. I will also let others know about my experience. I have used this place for over 20years. Shame.

Excellent take away meal for 29 people for a party. Food was ready when we went to collect it and was fresh and delicious. Fish was particularly good. Second time we have use the Atlantic for a party and we will be back. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately seems to have gone down hill. Went a while and was told they no longer do small chips. So I couldn’t have the order I usually have. But I could buy more chips and leave some. A few weeks later went in for lunch and staff were too busy chatting. So I haven’t been for a while. Went in today for lunch at 1.50 and was told it was too late to eat in the restaurant but could have takeaway. What restaurant doesn’t serve lunch at 1.50 on a Saturday! They’ll be complaining about lack of business next.

I generally have a takeaway, although I've dined in before in the past, always good service with great food .

A main-stay of the food scene in Weston, The Atlantic can attribute it's longevity to offering consistently good food. Relaxed atmosphere if dining in, and not a long wait for take-away. All food is cooked fresh, per order. Fish and chips is signature dish here, but the supporting menu is equally as good. I can recommend the very fairly priced MVB and Jack's Sizzler burgers. Never been disappointed, and always on our itinerary when we are in town!

After a couple of beers decided to pop into the Atlantic for sit down fish and chips was amazing as always fish and chips were beautifully cooked to order staff were polite and always ready to help love this place

Very disappointed tonight chips over cooked and I might off had a packet of crisp that’s how crunchy they were, fish was dry. Staff didn’t want to engage just want to sit at the back talking. Very poor service tonight.

I went in for takeaway fish and chips, but I saw the restaurant and decided to eat in. The service was quick and friendly, and the food was excellent with good portion size. I went in again a few days later and got the same service and good food, I would definitely recommend it.

As a local person I have often gone to Atlantic Fish Bar for our fish n chips and they have always been lovely. However, today, they were awful. I don’t know if there has been a change of owner/staff but 1. they were full of grease to the extent that it was leaking out of the boxes and through the bag. 2. Then, one of our portions of fish was practically just batter with hardly any fish inbetween 3. I think the oil must have been to hot because the batter was overdone one the outside, but, in places wasn’t quite cooked on the inside. I’m sorry to give such a negative review, but that’s my experience from today.

Whenever we go to Weston we'll always get fish and chips at Atlantic. They offer gluten free all the time which is hard to find! The food is always top notch and hits the spot. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend

Could have done with an extra person on duty, but we got served quickly within the restaurant and the food came out freshly cooked and delicious. Not too greasy, crisp batter, fresh haddock and absolutely perfect chip shop chips. Maybe a tad on the expensive side, but it sure is quality.

Service was excellent, and so was the food. Will definitely be going back. Thoroughly recommend.

Asked what items are gluten free as they don't have a gluten free menu, got told fish battered and chips that's about it, Asked for large gluten cod and chips, portion size very good, shame about the food, not a 100% sure it was cod, very thin and batter not fully cooked, fish had no taste, when Asked if it was wheat free got told gluten is wheat, which is not the case, Asked about how its cooked got told this side is for normal and this side for gluten free, but they get the chips from the same the same chip bin just use 2 different scoops, was really looking forward to my fish and chips as its not something I can have often, was very disappointed 😔

It was OK I've had I've had better. But I neither like nor dislike their fish n chips.

Proper fish n chip shop, nice place to sit and eat probably the best fish n chips in the area. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is they used to have more choice like Rock Hake and sometimes even Ling so much nicer than cod and haddock. but still what they do is the best.

Great gluten free fish and chips! Looked all over Weston-Super-Mare for gf fish & chips, struck gold here - available all the time! Also fed 8 other none gf members of the family - all the food was delicious and staff so friendly and helpful. On holiday here, or we’d be back again soon!

Best fish-and-chips in Western super mare

Ordered the £14.50 moby dick special. The fish was absolutely beautiful, cooked to perfection however the chips were a different story. The 3 bags we had were undercooked with some that were overcooked?? They just wasn't nice at all,didn't look like the pictures on your website at all.

Fantastic place. We ate in as it wasn't the best weather. Great service. Gluten free fish and chips available so my daughter was happy with being able to eat the same as us. Was a little bit pricey for the adult portions but good for kids. Portions were good and really my kids would have been able to share one. Would definitely recommend

We had a fantastic meal in Augest last year.I am gluten free and the food was amazing.

Visited here yesterday but very disappointed. The chips weren't very nice, big portion but not tasty... the vinegar was so watered down it was tasteless.. we mentioned that to the waitress who replied... I don't know i only work here on Saturdays... £30.50 for 2 haddock and chips and tea for two. We won't be going back.

Amazing pie, chips and mushy peas but the highlight was the gravy, delicious!!! Great service and reasonable prices. Our new favourite for a pre-theatre dinner 😊

The Best Fish n Chip restaurant for miles around. Still serving the best fish, whereas other places seem to have reduced the size and quality. Chips are Golden and crispy.

This was my first visit to the Atlantic Fish Bar since the pandemic. I brought my friend as I had been telling how nice it is here. Some years ago I used to get my late mother's fish and chips from here every Saturday lunchtime, so it has special sentimental memories for me. I was pleasantly surprised to see Denise, the waitress who used to serve me in the old days! Always very efficient and friendly. The place was quite busy, but we didn't have to wait long for our order. My friend chose the ham and mushroom pie with chips, peas and gravy. I plumped for fish and chips (the OAP size). It was all excellent. Highly recommended!

Popped in here whilst at Weston super mare and we were so glad we did. Interior is lovely and traditional, service is faultless and the food was delicious. A little walk out of town but definitely worthwhile!

Searched this restaurant out as a visitor it appeared to me to be in more of a residential area. It’s about 6 minutes walk from the sea front, through the main shopping area and out the other side. Has great reviews and states that it does gluten free fish and chips and as we could see when we arrived it has also won many awards which backs up the good reviews. Looked clean, tidy and well kept. Unfortunately despite information advertised online when we arrive it was closed 😢 There is a notice on the door stating that due to the current economic circumstances it was no longer financially viable to open on Mondays. I do totally understand but after visiting many fish and chip shops today I wanted to leave a review for anyone else that is visiting looking for gluten free as this was one of 2 that I managed to find in Weston Super Mare.

This great fish and chip shop and is a bit further out than a lot of places has a takeaway section and a dine in section - prices and portions are reasonable - great service and friendly staff and obviously have their locals and they treat them well - I was having a meal prior to going to the theatre at 19.30 so it was quiet when I went in but busy by the time I left - it was on a Friday night

Very disappointed, based on previous visits was expecting great food. Tried their sweet potato fries, they were inedible as each on was completely burn and as a change had a burger rather than my usual fish, whilst it tasted OK I was very unwell afterwards. My parter left most of his food too, needless to say this will be our last ever visit.

Called in without pre-booking on a Saturday evening and surprised to find only two other tables occupied. Both had standard fish and chips with mushy peas and curry sauce. Chips were fine and lots of them, but fish on small side and batter over cooked so it became almost unpleasant. Peas were insipid and needed some seasoning to liven up. The bill (with two cola’s) came to £41:80 which seems expensive for standard portions. The rating of 3/5 is because staff were attentive and pleasant which gave an extra star, without which only two star rating. Won’t be back in a hurry and will save myself for Papa’s instead where fish and chips is always beautiful, although similarly priced!

This fish bar was always my number one, but after my last visit I am afraid I do not think I will go back again. The selection of fish they had was abysmal, the batter was greasy and soggy and ot at all enjoyable. I know times are hard but the prices have gone up so much it makes for an expensive take away, I ordered my food which had to be cooked fresh and then had to wait because the fryer had forgotten part of the order

This fish an chip restaurant was recommended by a local sea front kiosk owner. It did not disappoint us We chose line caught haddock and chips with mushy peas. The batter was light and very crispy. I rarely eat the batter theses days but I ate all mine. The chips are delicious, old fashioned chips. Large portion, we couldn’t eat it all The menu has many other options including salad or sweet potato fries, if preferred, pies and burgers You can have a beer or glass of wine with your dinner. Bread and butter and other sides If you have room you can get dessert too I highly recommend a visit here, if like us , you enjoy a fish and chip supper when by the sea

Before lock down this fish & chip restaurant was the best ever.since then it has become just a bit better than the rest. On offer before, was Hake some times Ling some times Rock now its just Cod Or Haddock but when you are used to getting the best on offer its just a bit disappointing

This was our second visit, a number of years apart, and standards are consistently excellent. A great portion of real chips, which are not in least bit greasy or oily. The fish is deliciously flakey in crisp dry batter. It just doesn’t get better than this

Came to Weston with friends from Gloucester, looked on google for gluten free and found Atlantic fish bar, the fish was melt in the mouth and the batter was tasty and crispy , best chips we have ever tasted, fantastic, thank you all , top marks 😁

A bit disappointed really. We were really looking forward to it as we haven’t been here for years. £11.95 for fish and chips. Fish acceptable although not very big in comparison to other places we have been and lots of chips which were nothing special. One portion of mushy peas £3.

We were recommended the Atlantic as being excellent fish and chips. Very disappointed. Chips tasted as though they were frozen and fried. Dry and tasteless no matter how much salt and vinegar we put on. Haddock and whiting were nearly all batter with not much fish. Service was good. Also on a disabled note baby high chairs stacked outside ladies' toilet access door which rendered wheelchair access impossible. Waitress did offer to move chairs while our disabled person was on way out. This should not have been allowed. Would not return.

Haven't been there for a while.,since they used to serve cod skin on. Always consider PAPAS better..but I went back a couple of days ago...&Bingo. Will return since what I have was by miles much better than Papas &all the rest. Apparently they ditch the skin on. Everything was delicious. By far the best chippy in town. Many Thanks
