Best fish and chips in Westward Ho! The covered area at the front of the shop is a great asset for eating your takeaway, if the weather is windy or cold.

We have never eaten Fish and chips so good!! THe fish was so fresh, batter was incredibly thin yet so crispy and flavoursome, simply the best....!!! we have never had fish and chips this good....EVER...!!! Can't wait to visit Devon again 10/10

There are many fish and chip shops in the local area but few of them surpass Atlantic Bay. The food is great and the atmosphere is incredible service can be slow but that’s due the sheer amount of people who come here. During Covid they were one of the first chipys in the area to have click and collect which was great. If you’re visiting the area I 100% recommend

All fresh cooked. Can recommend the Cod. Had about a 10 minute wait, may be better to order online and collect as can get really busy, but it's well worth the wait.

Wasn’t too impressed with our food today, the small cod was tiny and cost £5.30. And 3 hairs found attached to a jumbo battered sausage. Never had a problem as locals we’ve regularly got our fish and chips here when coming to the beach.

Decent shop but nothing special. Service is relatively hectic as queuing system is confusing and hard to hear when orders are called as ready. Portions are okay but prices are too high (5£ for regular size cheesy chips I feel is too expensive).

Delicious cuts of fish, lovingly battered and fried to a perfect crisp served with a generous portion of potato chips. I complemented mine with their traditional curry sauce and a side order of mushy peas.

Online order super easy, short walk to collect. Crispy batter, tasty chips and the dig loved the sausage. Thanks guys, will come again

What was supposed to be hot food was served cold. I had to go and tell the staff who offered to cook more but it took too long to arrive so we had to leave as we were wet and hungry. Not going back.

Ordered a takeaway Cod, Haddock & Chips. The staff (all young) were friendly, but both the chips and the batter on the fish were greasy, the haddock was overcooked whilst the batter was undercooked (had the pre-cooked the fish?) and, quite bizarrely, the piece of large cod which we ordered had been cut lengthways and so looked like a battered eel !! If I'd tasted it whilst there I would have given it back. Suffice to say we won't be going back again.

First time visiting here & had fish and chips on my mind to eat on the beach, the food was lovely and portion size was good, I had large cod & chips £11.50. My only complaint, the staff didn’t seem to be happy, I witnessed the girl server get an order wrong for an elderly lady, she was short to the poor lady who she told to just wait for them to correct, no apology.

Got to put a 2 star review. Got back to where I'm staying to find order was wrong. Paid for double burger and received a single. Got the feeling staff didn't want to be at work which showed in the order. The place is normally good. So a shame to put a bad review on this occasion. I wouldn't normally care but to be honest I'm normally strict with food/diet and have a cheat/treat once a month. This time was disappointed

Fish and chips from here are always freshly cooked and hot. A good choice of fish as well as some pies etc. Be warned portions are very generous!

Young man who served me a polite & kind person with fab customer service attitude . Food was nice but unfortunatly a burger we ordered wasn't cooked inside so had to return it , was given a refund & apolgies made which was appriciated , these things happen & it was handled with kindness .

It was a stormy night. We appreciated being able to sit in the dry.

We visited on Sunday and what a disappointment. The food was awful. The fish was excessively greasy, and the batter wasn't crispy. The chips were dry, and the tables were dirty. The Royal Plaice in Appledore is so much better, (but not open on Sunday). You can have your chips delivered to the pub opposite, where you can sit inside and enjoy them with a pint.

Overpriced and overrated ,dry bland chips!! Shame being a local, I would like to have supported, I don't know if it's a holiday maker syndrome of charging as much as you can while there still here?? Don't forget locals are here all year round

Fish was okay. Overpriced, you have to pay separately for chips (which makes no sense) and sauces, and expect a minimum 20 minute wait as there are barely any staff.

Visited on a monday for gluten free batter. This was excellent, as was the regular batter. Chips perfect, fish perfect, mushy peas perfect. Generous portions, online collection dead on time, friendly staff. The best FnC we have had in a good while. As a real sea side bonus you can eat them outside and not get attacked by herring gulls. They have got the gulls under control in Westward Ho!

Lovely food, made to order. Service was a bit slow despite it being off-season but on the flip side it was made very fresh. Nice covered seating area in case of rain good view. All in all recommend.

Lovely fresh fish n chips,served promptly,great children's menu with just enough chips. Shop was lovely and clean,very easy to use the self order kiosk. Would use again if on holiday in the area.

The food was tasty, I could not fault it. I think the very young staff did an excellent job considering the popularity of the establishment. Its definitely not the cheapest fish and chip shop around, but that is to be expected in a busy tourist sea side town. The wait time was not too horrendous considering deluge of orders they clearly had.

Best fish and chips in the area, won't go anywhere else. Fast service, it's clean and there's the option of eating in or sitting outside on the grass overlooking the sea.

I quite liked this fish and chips here, only 4 stars since the fish was a bit crumbly and easy falling apart. Good fish though.

Staying locally we opted for a visit to the local chip shop - the Atlantic Bay. The place was very busy, and you can order via self-serve kiosk thing. We picked what we wanted and the kiosk was fairly easy to use (we couldn't find the curry sauce until we realised you could swipe up to move screen!) We also then had to go to counter anyway as the receipt didn't appear to give our order number! We had a few minutes wait, but this wasn't surprising considering how busy it was. It's a small area with a covered area outside and some benches on other side of the road. There is also a big green on other side of the road so if it's a nice day you could just sit and eat there! We had a large cod, chips and peas meal deal, a kids fish cake meal and a small cod and chips. All the food was cooked well, the fish wasn't overly battered, the chips had a good mix of having the little crunchy bits at bottom that I like - and all of it was well covered in salt and vinegar! We would certainly visit again if the desire for fish and chips is high!

Nice fish and chips, very busy when the weather is nice. Friendly staff. One criticism, even when busy make time to clean the tables, you need to look after the locals.

£31 for a kids chicken nuggets and cheesy chips (only 4 nuggests), a kids sausage and cheesy chips, a medium fish and chips (cost over £10 on its own) 2 slushies, a fruit shoot and a pickled egg. The extra cheese on the kids chips was £1.70 EACH PORTION!! Bloody rip off, I was expecting the best fish and chips ever, to be honest they weren't that special, I would've had better chips that cost me less at the arcades or the chippy near the go karts. And to be honest, it was all far too greasy. Seriously save your money and go elsewhere for less grease - maybe they're charging extra to cover the cost of all the extra grease they use?!! The place was heaving, which is great for them, it's always packed out there and though they have tables in the outside shelter area, there's no room to stand and comfortably wait for your chips because its too small inside and you constantly feel in the way waiting. I'm local so I could've been regular customer, but not at that greedy price for greasy food. The seaguls liked them though!

The food was superb however when you order you are given a number, no issue there, but if you cannot hear it because you are stood outside, as requested, then there is an unnecessary in getting your food. There is a small undercover area to eat if you are lucky enough to get a table.

When you're paying the highest price for fish and chips in the entire area you expect the attention to detail. They always miss salt and vinegar when ordering via the app and by the time you find a spot to sit down the beach it's too late to walk back.

Great fish and chips, especially the fish. The mushy peas were fantastic too which is unusual for mushy peas. Portions were quite large so we had one large cod and chips for 2 people.

Ordered fish chips and mushy peas. Got home and no mushy peas! Chips dry and tasteless! Waited ages to get served and staff less than helpful. Had better in Bideford on the quay

Chips was not very nice , very dry tasted like old chips . Curry sauce didn't taste very nice either.

The bus station is almost non existable , no longer have toilets or ticket desk or little cafe . They shut the whole inside of it

Amazing local chippy food tasted great stuff very kind had a lovely outdoor seating area which was clean and had a lovely view of the beach noted the staff are so kind that as they were shouting they were looking for friendly dogs to feed any of the leftover sausages which I thought was really kind and thoughtful

It gets very busy here at times and a few of the staff struggle to cope with that and can come across as quite rude while others are a joy to speak to. The food is of great quality and not too bad price wise for the location. Would recommend

They may as well give you a chopstick to eat your fish with. Very good food but impossible to eat the fish with just a chip fork. They should provide wooden knife/fork.

Ordered online for collection, which was really easy to do. It was cooked fresh and ready for our collection. Really tasty and not greasy. Will definitely order from there again.
