Having dipped in and out of this place for the last few weeks for lunch I decided to book the afternoon tea for my husbands birthday. Best decision!! The beautiful assortment landed within minutes of us arriving. Beautifully fresh sandwiches in luscious thick bread. Savoury additions were also provided - a delicious sausage roll which was warmed. What I loved most about the cakes was the variation in flavour and size. Not over faced by big wedges of cake. Included in the selection - carrot cake (as requested as my husbands favourite), chocolate brownie, a very delicate lemon tart with was sharp and not sweet, macaron and the traditional scone with clotted cream and jam. What made this stand out to other afternoon teas was the fresh raspberries and strawberries which were dotted around the sweet selection. An absolute delight ... I'm now thinking of other occasions/excuses to book it again! Well done Liz and team .. was just wonderful!

My friend brought me here a few weeks ago for a birthday brunch - with cake - and as we had to take my partners car to the garage up the road - thought we’d stop off. Just coffee and 2 bacon sandwiches - but everyone including the clientele were friendly - ladies with babies - ladies after dog walking having coffee and cake and lots of dogs - I had my doggie fix … choice of table and chairs or soft sofa seating … lovely art work - but can’t find any mention on the website so not sure if all for sale - Emma Taylor Lino - I picked up a card - has closed her Etsy shop - so you may want to get rid of her cards. Nice for a treat - and a change We walked off our breakfast after at Wendover Woods

Such a friendly, amazing cafe and had an amazing time having brunch. Cafe not only dog friendly but love dogs to come along and recognised my friend by their dog. This is an excellent coffee shop with a great selection of home made cakes and great coffee. The only thing I would say is that lot of the cakes involve chocolate, it would be nice to have some lighter, fruitier options. They do other food as well. Always friendly. Nice and relaxing atmosphere. Very dog friendly. We had a family party here earlier in the year. It was wonderful, and nothing was to much trouble.

It’s always worth the 20 minute drive, I think, to get a really delicious cup of coffee and to introduce another friend to Coffee at 108 to have a catch up. Their open sandwiches (sourdough, humus, avocado, Parma ham, and other toppings), wraps and other brunch/lunch dishes are all freshly prepared and delicious. Amazing selection of cakes too. A friendly and welcoming atmosphere and you can park right outside! Thoroughly recommend!

Please please please ignore the recent condescending review by Theirlaw (you’ll note a common theme to nearly all their reviews is to have a pedantic dig…). Take it from a local that Liz runs an excellent coffee shop at 108, serves great coffee and delicious cake, and can turn out an absolutely incredible celebration cake. It is nothing like any of the big chain shops, is so much better! If you’re driving through the village do pop in and I promise you’ll leave thinking more like me and less like Theirlaw…

My friend and I decided to visit the Coffee Shop as one of our friends from school worked there. Upon arrival, we were greeted nicely to a warm and kind atmosphere. The staff were well trained and kind when interacting with us. Our drinks arrived quickly and were delightful. The young staff were incredibly polite (unlike the youth of today) 😂 Definitely recommend for a coffee date or just a small social with friends, from kids to OAPs.

The most perfect village cafe! We live local and one of the main reasons we are continuing to live local is because of coffee @ 108! 100 percent THE BEST CAKE YOU WILL EVER HAVE! I have eaten a lot of cake and nothing comes close to a slice of 108s. It is honestly delicious! We are always made welcome and the staff are amazing. They will always be polite and always smiling considering they are always working their socks off! I usually bring in a cheeky toddler as well and they couldn’t be more understanding when things get a bit messy! The coffee is PERFECT- the best coffee around always made to how you request. So if you want the best cake, the best coffee and the best friendly service look no further than 108!

So. I really want to love this place. The coffee is provided by The Espresso Lounge ltd in Tring. An exceptional coffee shop run by a talented professional barista. Unfortunately, the same knowledge and skill isn't applied to the "Coffee at 108". The owner doesn't understand the basics. Puck prep is bad, grind settings are wrong, and brew ratios aren't measured. So the coffee quality is kinda random. Every time I have tried a coffee it has poured too fast and produced a sour shot - even with the well-textured milk, the underlying taste is flawed. Don't get me wrong. This is no worse than the majority of Costa and Starbucks but when you've got speciality grade coffee you really need to up your preparation game. There are simple steps to fix the problem. Weigh coffee in and out in the morning and set the grind so you're getting a 2:1 ratio shot in around 28 seconds. Then adjust to taste. Simple... but the knowledge (or willingness?) isn't there. Such a shame. It's a lovely venue, it has great cake and snacks. My review score does not reflect on any of these aspects, the three stars are for the coffee.

It was approaching 4pm but was didn't get in the door because a girl blocked the door way and said I couldn't have coffee because they were closing . If you are stopping serving coffee before your closing time, you should take the sign in from outside first to avoid disappointing people.

Recently visited the Aston Clinton coffee shop, and had to try my hardest not to dispute the outrageous price for two cups of regular tea. I had five pounds on me and i was given just 20p in change....20p!! a cup of regular tea should not cost you more than £1.50 anywhere. I mean, its free hot water, plus a tea bag, and a splash of milk, how on earth that adds up to £2.40 is beyond me.The worst part was, it wasn't even a decent cuppa! way too milky and we weren't asked how we like it in terms of strength. The coffee here is very hit and miss and seems to depend on who you get making it on the day hence the change to tea on this occasion.sadly this is an all too often trend in one off independent shops.

This was our second visit. We are not local but have marked it out for a pleasant lunch stop when we are in the area. The sandwiches were of a good standard and I even tried the interesting combination of beetroot and cream cheese which does work! A shame that there were no paninis left early on into a Saturday lunchtime. Lovely coffee. There is a nice cosy atmosphere and the cafe was nearly full when we arrived. It appears to be popular. However, I will think twice before visiting again. Despite having a reassuring 5 star food hygiene rating I witnessed a member of staff lift the lid of the large bin outside to dispose of rubbish twice and on both occasions she returned to continue working in the kitchen without washing her hands. Sadly can't give the deserved higher rating due to questionable hygiene.

I recently visited and although the locally sourced cakes and drinks are reasonably good, the more manure lady should learn to smile and the shop should buy better produce from local suppliers, in terms of fruit and not tescos small bananas which are then resold as individuals and as for the incentive scheme it puzzles me, I spent in excess of £30 made up of both a number of drinks and food and get one incentive stamp. Had I purchased just one coffee at around £2.50. I would still have got one stamp as it's done on the number of visits. You don't need an economics degree to work how I may not be incentivised to spend more money. The simple question is would you rather I visit you and take a table once at 20-30 with increased spend or 10 times at 30 mins or should I buy one coffee walk out and walk back in to buy the second and third etc to count as multiple visits, or should I not be encouraged to visit with additional family and friends. Every other incentive scheme in the world is based around spend,as every business wants you to be incentivised to spend more. I would be very keen to understand the logic behind your scheme. I have the simple answer for your customers don't treat your family and friends and get them all to pay for their own, at least you would all get a stamp. I wish every local business the success they deserve, but in order to succeed the simple answer is treat customers well, serve good produce and make people feel welcome and incentivised to come back. All the best should you welcome my constructive feedback

Thought we'd try a local coffee shop for coffee and light snack lunch as normally go to Wendover - it was truly awful I feel robbed of £15! It was the complete opposite of the March reviews on here, my cappuccino looked nothing liked the pic! So bad in fact neither of us drank more than a 1/4 of our large cups and we LOVE coffee frequent all the chains and independents regularly! But the most awful thing was the truly awful service, abrupt unfriendly unhelpful 2 ladies looking like they'd rather be anywhere else!!! We were shocked it was that bad- a curt hello then a demanding do you want a drink?! And then are you eating - if so sweet or savoury!! Then pay straight away at the til no sit down and we'll bring over, no how is your food which was also terrible - i had the special - a freezing cold small slab of fritata salad and a few crisps for £4.95 and a very small baked potato. No one came over to ask if all ok and if we would like anything else, we left and a curt goodbye shouted from the counter AWFUL I hope this local business survives but it needs a massive customer service and quality coffee upgrade!

Lovely, quirky little coffee shop. Some nice retro touches in the decor and local arts and crafts on sale. Popped in late afternoon before checking into a local hotel and we're warmly greeted and offered a number of light meals and snacks. We chose sandwiches which were freshly prepared to order accompanied by a huge pot of tea yielding so many cups between the two of us that we lost count. Lots of local people seemed to pop in for coffee and cake so it is clearly popular and how lovely to see dogs not only allowed in but actively welcomed. I really wish we had this sort of cafe at home as I would definitely be a permanent fixture!

Lovely little cake shop where you see the village ladies bring in there cakes. I've never had a bad cake here and it reminds me of my mums baking when I'm homesick. I usually order a milkshake and a cake and I will miss this shop when I go back home to Australia.

If 'Carlsberg' do coffee shops...This was my 1st visit to this coffee shop but it won't be my last. I visited at lunchtime on a Sunday and it was fairly busy but there were still tables available, it's busy for a good reason! Our order was taken (x1 coffee, x1 hot chocolate & x2 pieces of rocky road cake), i paid and we sat down. Our order was soon brought over by a lovely waitress and we tucked in. The rocky road was superb mmn. The tea i'm informed was perfect and my hot choc was yummy. The whole ambience of the place is great, such a wonderful feel about the coffee shop..it must be a joy to work there.Dog friendly btw, dog bowl full of water outside should you wish to tie your dog to the railings by the front door plus a bowl inside should you want to bring the dog in with you.Now to my normal bugbear - the toilets. Well these i put at 9/10. Very clean, nice Andrex paper, great handwash but alas a roll of blue paper to dry your hands on but no holder so a tad fiddly. Baby changing facilities also which is great. All in all this coffee house has 'got it right'...

Lovely place to pop in and have a snack and coffee. Food is good. Service is friendly. When we visited there were quite a few people there but the atmosphere was very relaxing.

I have really enjoyed being able to drop in for a coffee after a walk or meet up with friends. And they are happy for you to bring you dog too. Looking forward to try a lunch there next time.

Aston Clinton coffee shop is fantastic. It's just what the village needed; a comfortable and quaint little café that serves tasty baked cakes and buns and I thoroughly recommend the coffee. It's much better than Starbucks, Costa or Nero (and I am a frequent visitor to all three). The staff are also lovely; very smiley and welcoming. I have been in there with my husband, friends with small children and also for business meetings and I recommend it to all.

Lovely lunch today with my family, dog was welcome too. Left our muddy boots at the door and enjoyed a bacon buttie lunch. Will come back for cake another time.

This little coffee shop is great to grab a quick coffee to go from or to stop and have lunch in. It is warm and comfortable and serves a good selection of coffees and teas, tempting cakes and freshly made sandwiches. You can even buy loose leaf tea which is hard to find in this area. There is always parking outside and the staff are friendly. What more could you ask for? Avoid the post school rush if you want some peace and quiet.

Lovely little village coffee shop, great decor, staff really welcoming, dog and child all made to feel at home.Only let down by cakes they look impressive but are often tasteless or dry,if they can do something about that it would easily be 5 stars!

I am a regular visitor to this establishment and I absolutely love it. This is exactly what the village needed. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed, the coffee is to die for and the selection of cakes and savoury food is fantastic. You can really taste how fresh the ingredients are and I regularly see the local ladies dropping the fresh cakes into the shop to be sold. Their soup is fast becoming my favourite lunch-time winter warmer. My dog enjoys visiting with me and he loves all the attention he gets from the staff there. Cant fault this place, it has everything I'd want from a coffee shop.

Been here a few times to ensure we are supporting local. Lovely kind warm welcome, always. Mocha is my fave! Delightful menu and the sandwiches and roasties are some of our go to’s!

Very much, a traditional pub experience with a selection of beer and cozy atmosphere with the locals. Friendly staff and good food.

This is a traditional pub in many ways. It does have a bar/pub area with a hearth, a completely separate dining room also with a hearth, a separate nice covered patio, and a large outdoor area with play area for kids. I always enjoy coming here. The Sunday roast is very good and reasonably priced. Cannot complain and highly recommend a visit. The staff are always very welcoming.

Couple plus adult son. Booked in here as a motorhome stopover. Table booked for the evening. Landlord was happy for us to park up with permission in the morning so we could spend the day with our son who’s moved in locally. Lovely olde worldy country pub. Clean, friendly, proper home cooking & prices. Play area for kids outside and covered seating also outside. Peaceful nights sleep on sloping grass. Defo recommend and defo return.
