ASK Italian (Gloucester Arcade) in Kensington and Chelsea

While staying at a hotel in Kensington right by the Gloucester Road Underground we noticed a small shopping mall with ASK Italian inside. We stopped by for dinner and it was fabulous for a casual meal. The service was very good with a very friendly staff and the food was great as was our Italian wine. The cost was very reasonable by London standards and we returned for dinner a few days later. Lastly it is local favorite to include families with children.

Italian restaurant with very nice decoration. The dishes are very good, but be careful of the spicy dish, if you are not used to it because it is really very strong. A little extra for the desserts which are extremely delicious.

Top marks for a casual, yet quality meal. Complimentary lemonade, lots of options on the menu. The beef ragu tasted properly slow cooked. Pasta was perfect. Bruschetta was a little bland. Decent wines. Looks very popular and full of regular customers.

OMG! The lasagna is delicious!!! The appetizer and dessert as well. We devour our plates.

We took an all day tour and our bus dropped us off right across the street and we hadn't eaten all day. There was plenty of room and the food was AMAZING! It might be the best food we have had on our vacation. Might need to go again before heading home. The caliente calzone was spicy and really good. My husband got a pasta with meatballs and peppers and he loved it and I thought it was good too.

We have visited this place many times. The service is friendly though a bit slow sometimes. The food is very tasty. Decent portions too without being overwhelming

A group of 12 of us went today and despite our numbers the food and service was outstanding. Can’t fault. Well done waitress and cooking staff.

I waited by the desk as the two male members of staff made a fuss of other customers. When one finally gave me his attention he just airily instructed me to "sit over there" waving to a table. My lasagne was very small and not particularly tasty for the cost of £16.50. No-one asked how my meal was or if I wanted dessert. and/or coffee. In fact, I felt completely ignored. I had to go to the till to pay and noticed that in spite of the lack of attention, a 10% "service" charge had been added. I'd have happily left more if these guys had been even vaguely welcoming or hospitable. They seriously need to up their game.

Complete rip-off, we came at lunchtime for the 9.95 pound formula and they refused the discount and wanted to charge us 100%. We complained and got a poor discount... so we paid 13-14 points each. What generosity. And to top it all off, they took the liberty of being unpleasant and telling us "it's your fault, you should ALL have said you wanted the discount". In short, a restaurant to be avoided, unless you like being ripped off.

A very beautiful and clean restaurant. It will amaze you with the delicious and delicious food it offers in the wonderful Italian style. The service staff is very kind and very cooperative, and the atmosphere is very nice for sharing with friends and groups. I recommend trying it and enjoying the wonderful taste it offers.

Love the food and the ambience, but the service was absolutely incredible. Drini was amazing. He made the whole experience. He is very knowledgable and anticipates the needs of his customers. This was the best customer service experience I’ve had in London.

Had a lovely late lunch with my half at this branch. Fast and polite service, great food, nice location, would definitely come back again. Thank you.

Drinni was our waiter and was excellent. He was friendly and engaging with us and made our dining experience pleasurable.

Food is excellent, especially the calamari and burrata carbonara. The cherry biscotti martini is also a must have. So good, we went back a second time on our trip to London.

Pizzas aren’t good, no taste and really dry. I gave 2 stars only because the lemonade was really good. In addition we didn’t receive what we ordered. Staff isn’t friendly, almost boorish. Music was quite loud. Overall not that great of an experience, I wouldn’t recommend.

Great Italian food and friendly knowledgeable servers. We had a great meal with a lovely glass of wine and dessert.

I've been a loyal customer here for years, but today's service was disappointing. The waitress got my order wrong. The food was tasty, but it would've been even better if the staff had been more interactive or cracked a joke or two. The service charge was £15, and while the food was delightful, the service could have been improved. I decided to take off the £15 service charge from my bill since it didn't meet my expectations today.

First day in London and we decided to visit this restaurant. The food was “good”, but the service is really very bad. He Slow service, the waiters come and go in front of you and don't even say “hello”. The price/quality ratio is too high. Bad experience, I wouldn't go back.

The food had too little taste. My spaghetti carbonara had 6 pieces of bacon. The prices are not appropriate for what you get

We had booked ahead and informed staff that this was a pre-concert meal. So we were very impressed by the speed of service. Our food was delicious, and the Manzo Piccante I had had a nice chilli heat. All staff were friendly and helpful, even when the restaurant became more busy. We have been to ASK Gloucester Arcade many times before as it is convenient for the underground station, and an easy walk to the Royal Albert Hall. We will certainly choose this restaurant again for all the above reasons.

Reliably good food, served quickly. Great location. I liked the decor... a funny mix of Mediterranean lemon orchard and disco balls! Only disappointment was our waitress who didn't speak a single word to us or crack a smile the entire time we were there.

We went for dinner and the experience was great. Excellent service. During dinner we were served by three waitresses and the manager and they were ALL kind and friendly. Very good pizzas and spectacular desserts. 100% recommended

It was my first time eating at this Italian chain and it didn’t disappoint. The place was very beautifuly decorated and they even brought a complementary sip of lemonade. The food was great, though the portions were on the smaller side, but we were full anyway! It wasn’t too crowded either so we had a very pleasant lunch!

Italian cuisine for the English but not for the Italians, overcooked and watery pasta, edible pizza but none of it respects the traditions, not even the margherita where oregano is put. Nice environment

The staff were really friendly when they served us. The food was delicious and it came on time with the drink. The 2 pizzas looked amazing, great taste and price was okay . The service was excellent and I would highly recommend this place to anybody who loves eating Italian food. The location of the restaurant is near to the Gloucester Road underground tube station.

I came to get fast and fresh baked, and they fully met my expectation. The mushroom and truffle calzone was on my table in just 10 minutes! It had a gentle taste with that juicy truffle sauce, and the pastry was spot on - crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Thanks for complimentary homemade lemonade.

This place is so cute! the decorations are amazing and the staff are so attentive. It feels like such a homey atmosphere and the food felt like proper italian food, was so yummy! They even serve fresh homemade lemonade on arrival and the biscofff cheesecake was delicious ⭐️

Arrived without any expectation as the restaurant was conveniently located for me. Clean and simplistic with both in- and outdoors seating. There was a slight delay in receiving the menu but once attended to the service was really good from Drini (our attendant for the evening). Drini recommended the burrata carbonara and it was simply amazing! Creamy, tasty yet light and with the chilli oil recommended by Drini it really elevated the complexity of taste already present. If I had a longer stay in London I would most certainly go back, for birth the food and the friendly attentive service received. Thank you...

Very bad experience. The food was only medium grade. The male waiter treat customers based on their skins. As an Asian, he took away our glasses for welcoming drink immediately as we sit down; but other tables with white skins were given welcoming drinks as soon as they sit down. I spoke to him before we pay the bill, but he pretended like could not understand my word, I spoke very loud for three times then he gave us the drink. Very bad experience, do not give money to this racist.

Arrived at this branch of ASK and it was dead. Waiting staff seemed miserable and bored. No friendly greeting. I could see that the cooking staff were mostly scrolling on there phone between orders. When my food arrived the portion size was small. Had my food and was given desert menu. It took 15 minutes to come back to take my order and again the staff were not busy and we're mostly on there phones or walking around with an airpod in. The restaurant was soleless. Plenty of eateries around here. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

So basically i forgot my prescription eyedrops on the table and i came back after 2 minutes and the waitress said she threw away… Besides thar, the food is ok but the service is quite bad

We just had a tiring trip in London where all other restaurants were full of people. Pn our way back we ate here. Welcome drink was a game changer. The food arrived in 10mins and was super delicious. They gave colours and activity sheet to my lit boy which was perfect. In the end we ordered little deserts called mini which were perfect. Giving 5 star to everything here.

Visited with my husband and two children (age 10 & 5) on 24th April. Very impressed with the whole experience! We can be deemed as ‘awkward customers’ as my daughter has a tree nut allergy, but the staff were just amazing! Very Friendly & helpful staff, super quick Service and marvellous food! Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area and love good food and a relaxed atmosphere x

This was my first ever visit to any Ask Italian. The missus wanted a lasagne for her pre marathon meal, and I was hesitant. However, I am so glad we went as the food was very tasty and hot. And the beer was served in an ice-cold glass. I had the Lasagne Grande with a side of chips and made room for a Tiramisu. The service was spot on. The staff friendly. The atmosphere was perfect and would definitely recommend a visit. Well done, guys.

This place was great! They handled our larger group of 10 easily. No reservation required and no wait. Food came out quickly and was delicious. All of the staff were very friendly. We had a great experience.

The food was really nice presented, really tasty and good size of the portion , especially now a days , most of restaurants inflate the price and shrink the portions. I highly recommend to everyone as it was a really nice food, very fresh, tasty and the price with 20% off was a great deal

Had breaded chicken as main course. It was awful, no flavour, no nothing The so called 'vegetables' were soggy and also tasteless. I asked for mayonnaise to try to help, I was served tartare sauce, something seriously wrong here. Staff are lovely though. Probably won't risk it again. Sadly it's a great location, but Pizza Express is not too far way, 100% better.

Gluten-free possible for pizza and pasta. Food overall quite good. Portions rather small. It's too expensive for that.

One of the best food places to eat at, had an amazing time there, the service was on point and they kept checking if everything was alright or if there was anything else I needed which helped a lot. I would recommend to go there on a day out. Also, a waitress named Ceren, had a good attitude and welcomed us into the restaurant. I had a good time at ASK Italian and would 100% go there again if I can.

Casual Italian chain with a selection of pizzas and pastas. Their complementary sip of lemonade is an interesting touch. The beef brisket pappardelle was quite good, though the portion was on the smaller side. The pistachio & raspberry tart was super yum - recommended! Wasn’t too crowded at 7 but got packed towards 8 (on a Thu evening). Multiple waiters acknowledged our intent for the bill but it still took them close to 10 min before they actually came around to check us out.

This restaurant was close to our hotel and we were fortunate to discover it on our second night in London. We ate two evening meals there and they were both excellent. Service was good and the atmosphere was relaxing. We very much enjoyed our cheese fondue starter each evening.
