Our first visit. Very welcoming, exotic feel to the restaurant. Facilities very good, staff were kind and helpful. We found the service good but a little on the slow side. That said, a great evening out. We are planning to visit again with friends. A lovely birthday evening. Thank you.

Had dinner here when visiting Brighton on recommendation and we had a fantastic experience! The food was amazing, banging music, beautiful decor and the staff were just the best, so a shout out to Josh, Lysi, Elliott, Luke and Erik - thank you for your hard work and making the evening really entertaining!

Stopped by The Ivy today and had a delicious coffee outside in the sunshine! Decided to have a light bite to prolong our stay. The duck salad starter was so delicious, freah ans beautifully presented! Fin our waiter was so friendly and welcoming making our visit perfect, thank you Fin. We will definitely be back!

Celebrating and came here as highly recommended. However sadly a bad experience and ruined the celebration. The food 5 tapas all came out luke warm so we sent back, next batch came the same luke warm. I took a dish to the manager to touch how bloody cold it was. So waiting for food again by now the good vibes had disappeared and caused an atmosphere 😒 to top things off had to go find someone to get coats from cloak room asked a waiter who wasn't busy he said no I'm not a receptionist waited another few mins got ridiculous I went to bar to ask can someone just please help us. Won't be returning or recommending. Qqq

I went for lunch yesterday with my parents. We had the full lunch dining experience for £60 a head we were not disappointed. The team are super friendly and attentive and made us feel incredibly welcome. The sushi is incredibly fresh and the presentation is flawless. Very well priced and left full and very happy. Will be returning. Thanks again.

Fabulous lunch in perfect setting. The whole experience was made even more pleasurable by the General Manager, JJ, whose professionalism was second to none!

Sadly the food and service was very disappointing compared to our previous visit. Not a great start when front of house started a conversation with someone else and walked off whilst welcoming us. My partners starter and main came at the same time, she had nearly finished both before my food had even arrived which also wasn't what I had ordered. Atmosphere and style is fantastic, shame it was a let down.

Stunning interiors and inventive cocktails, especially during the cherry blossom theme season. Currently the best cocktail bar in Brighton hands down. A star down for the 2 reception ladies last Saturday who both looked rather annoyed to be disturbed to find us a table, unlike the barmen which were all super helpful and knowledgeable.

Went for afternoon tea and it was a great selection of food. Great portion for two people and the sushi rolls were excellent. Great service too

I know that you set a high standard for yourselves and that you will be disappointed to hear that our experience with you was not positive. We arrived on time to be told that because we had booked at 'peak time' (our fault apparently) our table wasn't ready, there was nowhere to put our coats, there was no room at the bar for us to wait and have a drink, and we could wait in the waiting area if we liked but they couldn't tell us when the table was likely to be ready. The 'waiting area' was stood to the side of the dining area next to the DJ booth, no seats, and the two tables that were there were covered in restaurant stuff, so nowhere to put any drinks down that we might have been able to order. Absolutely not the welcome or special experience we were expecting on a night we'd planned to celebrate. The speed at which the receptionist asked if we wanted to cancel tells me this is sadly a really common customer experience, somehow factored in. For a company that built it's reputation on excellent service, Ivy Asia Brighton is a terrible stain on the brand.

The Ivy Asia Brighton looks fantastic and initially I was very impressed. Unfortunately this quickly gave way to disappointment as the evening progressed. Firstly, the food was ok, but not great. The pork bao buns had barely any filling in at all (you can buy a bag of frozen ones at an Asian supermarket that are much better!). We then waited 45 minutes for our next course, the duck pancakes. This arrived only after I asked a member of staff how much longer it would be - there was no apology for the wait and the dish arrived shortly after. The duck meat was very fatty and under done - the skin not at all crispy. The pancakes were tiny. The steak was good, the chilli noodles were mushy and overcooked and the greens were a few leaves of pak choi. The staff, whilst looking very smart in their uniforms, lacked any warmth and I never got a sense that they enjoyed being there. The same could be said for the two ballet dancers(!) that periodically danced up and down. It was a bizarre affectation that looked completely out of place. Whilst the decor is impressive, Ivy Asia lacked any atmosphere, the tables were crammed together and the dance music was so loud and felt totally inappropriate. As soon as we finished our meal we just wanted to leave to escape the music. It's a shame as there are so many fantastic local restaurants in Brighton that genuinely care about their customers and want them to return. This clearly wasn't the case with Ivy Asia and I wonder if it will be there in a year or two's time.

Amazing meal with great service from Aaliyah and beautiful cocktails from the Sakura menu by Harry and Marcin on the bar. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff including Sam and Tom and Reece. VERY NICE!!!

Wanted to treat my youngest to a memorable dinner and it was. The experience just kept giving. Pryanka took care of us and was so pleasant and sincere. Wish we could have stayed all night as the DJ was unbelievably fantastic. One of a handful of dining experiences I have ever had that was world class excellence. Thank you so much, Ivy Asia

The ambience of the restaurant is absolutely amazing however the food is not as good as it should be for the price. The crispy duck was fatty and not crispy at all, the wagu skewers were over cooked and the avacardo in the salad was hard and not ripe. Service was not what I expected from a top end restaurant, not at all attentive and took ages to remove finished plates to make room to eat. All in all a disappointing experience.

The restaurant is extremely nice and unique. All the drinks we got were very good. I found the food was just average, I expected a bit more considering how nice the place is. It was not bad by any means but certainly not outstanding. I thought the prices were fair considering how nice the place is.

Style over substance? Although you book, be prepared to stand in line!! Our table was not ready when we arrived, or for the 20 other guests that spilled out on to the streets like the entrance to a nightclub. Some of the guests leaving were furious, one woman said she had just been kicked out and was not able to finish her drink or food despite being seated half an hour late at the fault of the restaurant. The receptionist just shrugged off the complaint offering no compensation, as new arrivals waited in line in the cold. We booked for 8.15pm, got seated at 8.45pm and got our first drink at 9.15pm, an hour after our booking time!! No complimentary drinks were offered and no apology for the wait. Our table of two was so close to the other tables, I felt like I was sitting with them! I had to move the table to be able to squeeze in, and I am small! My right hand was on the hand bag of the lady sitting next to me and to my left the gentleman had to move his arm so I could lean back, as he lounged in the booth seating. The table was wobbly as hell and despite a table next to us becoming available and our request to move, our waitress failed to move us and instead seated the new guests there. As you can guess, service is shockingly bad. The reception team wandered about like lost sheep with iPads, clearly more in love with themselves than serving guests. You are made to feel like you should be grateful for being able to get a table here. The food is okay, but the word special only applies to the gimmicky presentation. Dry ice and large presentation models remind me of great British menu, but underneath hides some pretty bog standard over priced Asian food smothered in micro herbs. This business is just a cash machine targeted at the middle class for the billionaire owners including the Qatar former prime minister Hamad bin Jassim. But who cares if your hard earned money isn't supporting local businesses? What most people seemed to care about in this venue was getting a good instagram pic to share on their social. It's a look at me venue, where the green backlit floor still facinates diners almost as much as the smoking platters of dry ice! If this is your sort of party you will probably love the long queues and the DJ playing loud chilled club music in background. And like many of the customers visiting, you probably won't flinch at £250 for dinner for two. This restaurant is clearly in trend. It will be in today and gone tomorrow, hence why the whole company is up for sale if you have a spare billion. In my opinion, it's just another soul less high street chain run by accountants not chefs. Don't waste your money. Support local and small business instead, as Ivy Asia on our visit was shockingly poor for the price paid. Good luck 🙏

Good quality food, impressive interior design (although apparently same as other sister restaurants across the country). Poor table service, rude waiter. All the food delivered at the same or wrong time: starters, mains together (however, they don't call it that way, possibly for their convenience), sides delivered after you almost finished the dish. Don't even bother with "double espresso". They should call it "rinse a coffee cup water" or tell about it before one orders it at least. 13.5% discretionary service charge is compulsory, probably for hard work constantly reminding about the time you should leave. No, we did not overstayed, left early... I could not bear it anymore. I went there for nice food, not just pomp and circumstance. Sadly latter is the best dish on their menu.

Not value for money. Danger watch out for the service charge.

Quite impressive establishment, excellent decor, good service, apart from slight surprise in the gents, steady guys. No time to try the food or cocktails though.

I came here today (a Monday) for lunch with a friend and our two toddlers, mainly as a place to use my taste card for a mid week deal, and wasn’t expecting anything special. However, I was pleasantly surprised by my visit. The staff were super attentive and really made an effort to accommodate our 2 year olds, eg bringing their starter nibbles before we’d even ordered and giving them an extra scoop of ice cream - very much appreciated! I had the burrata and a truffle mushroom calzone and both were delicious. I love the ‘mini desserts’ on the menu, perfect for when you’re full but really want a sweet treat. I’ll definitely be going back and would recommend ASK for a family-friendly meal in central Brighton.

I was looking forward to my visit to the Ivy for two years until I could go! I was so excited and looking forward to going here! I am so incredibly disappointed in the service here, I had heard amazing stories but our server treated us like we were outsiders and like absolute garbage! Don’t get me wrong the food here is absolutely phenomenal and the atmosphere was incredible but why were we shunned the entire evening by the staff?

It's beautiful inside, the toilet is cool.

While selling Asian food, I felt that Asians were racist. I ordered 4 dishes, but each one came out at 10-minute intervals, and the other two didn't come out even after 30 minutes. When I told the staff, they served my food in 3 seconds. The guests sitting next to me who came late had their food served one after another. I really liked the exterior and interior, as well as the welcoming staff, but I wondered if they were being racially discriminated against when it came to serving the food.

This is a fun, delicious experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and there is a dynamic atmosphere. The food is great, delicious and great size portions. You have to try the duck, not only does it taste fabulous, but how it is presented is an experience. I went with my daughter and she had a lychee cocktail that also looked amazing. The other stand out was the aubergine (eggplant) and the tuna. I do not think you could choose anything and not be impressed and happy with your choice.

Great service and food was phenomenal. The drinks and the cheese fondue were amazing. And the sea bass was the best meal I’ve had in years.

Everything was lovely until we received some really disappointing service and was basically told we needed to leave. After being given a desert menu me and my partner had decided what we wanted. When the server came to take our order she said; ‘well you can order a dessert but I need the table back in 10 minutes.’ Prior to this we had not been told that the table was booked after us and to be honest it left a very sour taste in our mouths when we had spent a lot of money on the meal/drinks!

We had prebooked but were easily accommodated half an hour earlier. Very friendly and welcoming in the heat of Brighton Lanes. We had drinks plus starters and mains from the extensive menu. All the food we had was delicious. Starters of chicken lecce and garlic mushrooms followed by Stromboli pizzas, carbonara and the new dish of chicken arrabbiata lasagne. Great atmosphere. We were able to pay for the food with Tesco Clubcard vouchers which is great. Highly recommended. Worth going out of your way for. Some of the most friendly and efficient staff in Brighton.

Great food, tasty and lots to choose from. Cocktails are expensive for the size. Server was friendly and overall great. Would attend again but for more of a celebration as it’s pricey.

Lovely food have visited a few times before. Very disappointed that the balloon we took for a friend's birthday we were not allowed to have in the restaurant due to a fire hazard. The birthday cake we were not allowed to eat there due to allergies.Which is nonsense if you eat at your own risk.You are not going to give it to anyone else in the restaurant. This is purely down to ensuring you spend money on desserts.Which I feel is un reasonable. Would now think twice about booking the private function room.Due to the rules and regulations.A great shame as this is not going to eventually go down well with customers.The food was good service slow regarding drinks.

The restaurant looks amazing but it is definitely style over substance. We waited 15 minutes for a glass of water alone, we didn't get the chance to order our wine until we were half-way through our meal. The food server who brought the food was unable to take our drinks order which seemed silly. One of the dishes was nearly cold but because of the time it had taken to arrive, we didn't send back. The food is okay but overpriced. I've had better noodles from the local Chinese take away.

Walked by and popped in for an ad hoc celebratory anniversary drink and what can we say other than WOW!!! The decor in this place is absolutely amazing and delightfully exquisite, but the jewel in crown was being met by a warm welcome from Josh the bar manager, who made us feel so comfortable and relaxed whilst he recommended the most moreish cocktails we’ve ever tasted!! He chatted to us and made us feel so special, that we didn’t want to leave!!! Thank you Josh - you are a star!! You made our celebration seem even more memorable!! We will be back!! Shirley and Nick

We had an amazing anniversary dinner at the Ivy Asia in Brighton. The food was incredible, it really lived up to its reputation. Our waitress Maria was brilliant, she really made it such a special experience. When we're back in Brighton, we will definitely be back 😊

I went to your restaurant for lunch to celebrate Valentine's Day with my girlfriend. The food was really good, and the service was okay. But we were surprised when, after just an hour and a half, we were told we had to leave in about five minutes! I hadn't even finished my main course, and the meal wasn't cheap, so it felt pretty unfair. Plus, another couple who had just gotten engaged during their meal got the same rush to leave. We loved the atmosphere and the food, but this experience left a bad taste in our mouths. Being rushed out like that isn't what we expected from a nice restaurant. Sadly, we're thinking twice about coming back because of it.

We had afternoon tea there. The buns were really dry, frozen buns from Asian supermarket is much better, good buns should be juicy inside. Spring rolls are now crunchy enough. Dumplings are ok, Sushi is average, nothing special. The Deco is amazing. I came just for some photos, will not return again.

I feel so stupid after going to this place🫠 We wanted to get a few drinks and this place was the first on the way. We were asked if we prefer to get a table or sit on the bar - we said that it doesn’t matter, if there is a table we can take - cool. In 15 minutes the waitress asked if we want to order something and we said “we did ordered, the cocktails”, the waitress was like “you are not ordering food?????”😅🤡💀🙄🫨. IT FELT SO AWKWARD, JESUS!!!! We were like “is that a problem?”🫣 In a minute we were told to leave the table and as the bar was not available anymore we were told to stand at some high table near the exit (love it, i was tired and wearing heels🥰). Considering how hard this place is trying to look posh and rIcH - this behaviour felt…umm humbling? Like “wow wow, peasants, if you don’t get food, leave the table and stand aside”. Felt embarrassed to come there just for drinks, but not for leaving there lot of money for the food (sorry, guys) I wish we were just asked in the beginning if we want just drinks or food, because without that question kicking us out of the table was ducking rude! bad manners - not stylish, even with the fancy decor. I’ve never experienced being kicked out of the table that’s why i’m so shocked. I wanted to get out of there as soon as I finish my delicious cocktail, cheers

This is the first time we have been to the Ivy Asia and I can quite comfortably say this is one of the best Asian restaurants we have been to. We had the afternoon tea. The food was absolutely exquisite, the tea was brilliant for both tea lovers and tea beginners. The atmosphere was fantastic. But mostly I can't fault our service, all the waiters were brilliant, especially Wayne. We felt so welcomed and completely at ease to take our time and enjoy the floor and drink. My partner and I would highly recommend this wonderful establishment. Thank you to all the staff involved!

I went there with my sister for the first time and the food was very good, except the main was pretty average. The service was utterly disappointing as we had to keep asking whether we could order more, waited a long time till someone cleared our empty plates and witnessed that our neighbour's table kept getting her full attention and even smiles. We were the only Asians in Ivy Asia, which was pretty hilarious from our perspective. Shame that we have been treated like people second class. Food was to die for though

The food is amazing, the restaurant design is very nice, the staff is very attentive, the food prices are reasonable and if you want to eat a nice Japanese meal, I recommend it.

Overrated. Difficult to get any waiter's attention, they're all too busy chatting about their weekends. More interested in clearing your plates than checking what else you need so feels very rushed. Had to ask 3 times for a dish we were missing. That took the entire 2 hours we were there to arrive. Choice of starters very fatty and fried. Wine (if you can get one) is warm. The floor is cool though!

The food was good but our waitress did not pay any attention to us while the people next to us had a smiling and courteous waitress (some waitress). I don’t know if that happened because we looked different or because we are Asians but you could see how the mood changed instantly when she came to our table or other people who looked different… BUT for that price range I would have accepted different behaviour, knowing that it’s more pricey restaurant.

The food was amazing plus wonderful presentation. The staff are excellent , friendly & very helpful - can’t fault. But what was with the music (I use the word loosely) last night?? Felt like I was in a head banging nightclub instead of a top quality restaurant. Plus we had the bongo drum joining in 😵‍💫…all so loud! Conversation was out of the question. . Hardly in keeping with the lovely Asian theme especially as it was Chinese New Year . ☹️😔

What an experience My wife and I travelled for 3 hours to dine here, our first night out child free in 2 years! Mentioned this to the host that seated us which was relayed to the wait staff who in turn made conversation out of it with us, very much appreciated ! The service was impeccable, not a single thing i would personally change, it was perfect in every single way! The food, stunning, plated perfectly, balanced flavours and the portion sizes were just perfect. The ambiance was luxurious, live dj downstairs with his accompaniment on the bongos made for a most enjoyable vibe between all other diners. Myself and my wife loved every second we were here! Every single dish was perfect! Hopefully it won't be another 2 years until we're child free for an evening to return here. To everyone as The Ivy Asia Brighton, thank you for making our little night out so special, it may not have meant much to you by all your little quirks and special service styles, but it meant the world to us. After reading some of the reviews, I was a little nervous about our meal but I can honestly say, The Ivy Asia didn't disappoint. The decor is amazing and well worth a visit just for that. Over the top and in-your-face. I loved the flooring! From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and the staff were all friendly. As it was our first visit, we choose the Dragon Experience menu, a Chinese new year celebration menu, which was a varied selection of the different foods available. A great choice. Would highly recommend the pork belly, it was amazing. The only thing I wasn't keen on was the cocktail but definitely a personal preference rather than it not being good. Food is presented really well, with a little theatrics and style. Our server, Emily, was lovely and all the staff were great. Kept our glasses topped up and made sure we had everything we needed. They made recommendations and helped with cocktail choices. A few reviews mentioned noise levels; as someone who struggles in loud places, I didn't have an issue with the sound levels at all. Loud enough to hear the music but not to stop conversations. It means you couldn't hear the table next to you. Great evening, all round and would visit again for sure. Go with an open mind and you'll have a great time. Yes it's expensive but it's worth the money.

Went back to ASK following a good visit late last year. Very disappointed this time because the dish my good lady had last visit was not available, so she went with a chicken pasta dish. I say chicken, there was hardly any in the dish. I went with good old fashion spaghetti bolognese which was very bland. The service and hospitality was first class but food let the visit down.

I'm a regular here and the food is always fresh and delicious. The staffs always have impeccable service.

Was unsure what to expect based on some of the mixed reviews but delighted to say I had a really enjoyable visit to The Ivy Asia. The staff were all welcoming, friendly and attentive. They ensured our glasses were topped up with champagne and cleared plates promptly. The food was great - we opted for the set taster menu and the dishes were all interestingly varied and tasty. I recommend the pork belly, it was delicious. The decor is bold and exciting and sets it apart from other restaurants. It is a little more lively than some may like - even on a Wednesday it was busy and the music was upbeat but it felt like it was part of the intentional atmosphere. Quite pricey but not bad value.

WAG central. Call Greenpeace - there's too much disposable plastic here!! Food average at best, alcohol a total rip-off (never seen such horrendous mark-up). Service friendly, but useless; asked for two more wine glasses five times before they actually arrived fifteen minutes later!
