Delicious. Light Courgetti Fritti, still hot and crispy on delivery, and outstanding, spicy Sausage & 'Nduja Tagliatelle. A little pricey, but perfect for a treat.

Very clean and welcoming. Very good selection on the menu and reasonable prices. Staff were very friendly, although service was "leisurely" rather than brisk. Not an issue really, arrived at 7pm and 2 courses were finished by 8.15. I only saw 5 people waiting and in the kitchen and the place was only 1/4 full. On busy days it may be a bit slower. The staff weren't sitting around doing nothing though. Food was very nice and couldn't be faulted. Card only.

If you’re looking for a fantastic place to eat in Southend on Sea, you can’t miss “Ask Italian”! I recently had dinner there and I have to say, the experience was superb. The customer service was exceptional. Kinga, Jack, Charlie, and Olivia were incredibly kind and helpful. definitely recommended!

We love our local Ask Italian! The food is always so lovely as are the team however Jacob is the absolute best! We popped in after a long weekend away and his service was just the best! Whenever we pop in he’s always brilliant as is the food, would highly recommend!

Food was lovely as always, however. Desserts not delivered, which just eat have refunded, and ordered carbonara and seafood linguine and received 2x carbonara instead so delivery is a bit hit and miss

I went to ask Italian southend kinga was the best host, we had a long day and she made us and our children fell very welcome and the food was delicious.

Pizza was really tasty, smooth, soft etc. I donno much about authentic italian pizza. So, for me this was really tasty. Very nice. Place has a good ambience too. Their green yellow colour combo, arrangements, box designs everything is nice. The problem i had was i got a tiny piece of meat in a veg pizza. I felt sad as i am a vegetarian. Its difficult for strict vegetarians to process in their mind the fact that they even touched a piece of meat or chewed a piece of meat. I hope it wasn't purposeful in any way.

Amazing Pasta. Great Service from Kinga and Lavinia.

Kinga & Lavinia served us and were fabulous; we had a very early dinner and basically had the place to ourselves. Thoroughly recommended. Food excellent. Have the ‘special’ carbonara (can’t remember what it’s called!)- it’s lush!

Our server Andreia was super friendly and helpful at all times, she recommended the foccacia bread and New Zealand wine which we loved, we sat outside and enjoyed the gorgeous sunshine.

As a diabetic I need to know how many grams of carbs are in each dish so I can dose insulin accordingly. This was not listed on the menu but Jacob and the rest of the team found a list with every dish broken down to carbs, protein etc. Above and beyond service so that I could enjoy my dinner and take the appropriate dose. Highly recommended A+++++

Great restaurant, food was amazing.. We went 16th May and the waiter was so nice and friendly.. Would 100% recommend this restaurant.

This evening with popped in for a pre cinema meal. Given Ask are a chain there wasn’t high expectations. The service was promt and the server polite and helpful. The food however was absolutely shocking,, whilst the expectations were not high we expected food that was remotely edible. I ordered lasagne , which was served looking anaemic, little to no meat, tasteless white sauce and pasta that can only be described as like consuming wet paper. I was shocked that this is the standard that was served. A smart price £1 microwave meal would have delivered a better meal. How the company can suggest that they are a modern authentic Italian leaves me speechless £55 Horrendous food.

This is my go to place for lunch. Great food (fabulous sea bass!!) and staff that treat you with old fashioned care & courtesy. Nothing is too much trouble. I can’t recommend this branch of ASK enough.

I went there with my family and the table where I was sitting was smelling so bad cuz of the wipe they used because they never washed. I went straight way to change table and they start chatting like I was wrong. Very disappointed I never go there again I respect my food and my hygiene

We went bank holiday Monday: 01/04/24. We arrived at around 7pm. Because I am a frequent diner, the team at the restaurant know me, as soon as we arrived they made me my favourite cocktail. The team are fantastic which included: KINGA, MARIA AND LAVINIA. Highly recommend this branch in Southend on Sea Essex.

Great afternoon , relaxing atmosphere

Allover it was a nice dinner, the food was delicious however the staff were miserable and demanding and huffed when we weren’t ready to order. The food itself wasnt cold but it wasnt exactly hot, on top of that at the end they took it upon themselves to add an OPTIONAL tip to themselves of £10 which we never agreed to. I asked what the extra fee was and they said nothing. The meal was nice, the atmosphere was nice however their staff were moody and made me and my table uncomfortable multiple times. We felt too uncomfortable to ask for the tip to be taken off as they had already made us feel unwelcome throughout the night. I’d come for the food but not the service. The toilets were nice and clean and the location itself was enjoyable but I wouldn’t expect the staff to be so nasty. If we had actually received a good and comfortable service, I would have felt okay to tip but we did not.

We went as a party of 10 with 4 younger members and were served by Kinga Jacob and Maria. They were friendly helpful and patient! The food and service were very good.

We have been eating in this restaurant for 18 years. Great menu, nice atmosphere, consistently good every time we go there, and staffed by the most wonderful people who work really hard to make you feel welcome and enjoy your meal. This evening Lavinia, Kinga, and Andreia looked after us - thank you very much :-)

We ordered at 6.40 and we received the order at 8.30 some of the food was cold if you don’t have the drivers you should not accept orders.

I’m only giving this 2 stars because the new waitress with black hair was friendly and polite. Honestly the let down of our evening was this restaurant. Drinks were lovely so can’t fault that but the food was atrocious, the only thing our table had that was remotely edible was the crayfish and prawn pasta and the rosemary bread. I had the burrata carbonara and when it came out it looked great however it was freezing cold in the middle and the pasta, the staff tried to say it’s supposed to be cold?! I’ve worked in hospitality for a long time and ‘it’s supposed to be cold’ is code for ‘we’ve microwaved it and they haven’t done it properly’ I’m eight months pregnant so asked for the regular carbonara instead, that was hot but bland as anything. My sister had the pollo e pancetta pizza and the toppings were rubbery. A woman who I assume was the manager came over after my pasta had been taken away and said ‘is there a problem?’ I’m sorry? Is there a problem? Is that how you normally talk to guests? She needs to be retrained. I’m an American trained bartender and would never treat a guest that way, she could learn to be more friendly and hospitable. When I did eventually get the new pasta about 4 members of staff kept asking if everything was okay whilst we were trying to eat and have a conversation, once or twice is fine. You don’t need to keep disturbing your guests. We were going to order dessert but I felt rather sick and was fed up with the managers face so we left and went elsewhere. Will never come here again.

Kinga was absolutely fantastic. She made recommendations based on the interests we portrayed. She was attentive and friendly and we couldn’t have asked for better. The food was brilliant and it made for the best girls night.

Always such great service in the restaurant and consistently lovely food. Personally love the crayfish pasta dish. One waitress who stands out is Maria, always serves us with a smile.

From previous experience it's best to go here Monday - Thursday. Not too busy, staff were polite and attentive, food as always was top notch.

I spoke to the restaurant who said they were trying to keep it warm, but there was no driver at the restaurant. When it finally arrived, the food was cold.it was a birthday treat for me, so very disappointed with Just Eat.

Enjoyed our lunchtime visit on a Saturday afternoon, wasn't too busy and food came out quickly. Food was well presented, well cooked and great tasting as expected. My only criticism is the volume levels which I suppose is to be expected with people talking over music, but I wouldn't let it stop me visiting again.

My husband is Italian and I am used to eating high quality Italian food. Our take is, this is a chain restaurant but the food is delicious, fresh and well presented. Don't expect it to be gastronomic but nevertheless the place consistently provides pleasant dining experience. All the staff are very friendly and courteous. Excellent service. Baby and toddler friendly, enough space to park the buggy. Perhaps ask for pasta to be cooked al dente if you prefer.

Ask's service was excellent. They contacted us when there was an issue and gave updates when we called them. However, Just Eat's delivery service was terrible. A prebooked slot was missed, the courier hadn't even been assigned in time. Then the food was delivered over an hour later than the requested time. This seems to be a growing problem with the companies service.

This Southend franchise is very well run. Beautifully presented. Even the toilets were clean and nicely decorated too. Staff went the extra mile to make our visit enjoyable. Food was excellent quality also.

Garlic bread was burnt to a crisp!!

I had the courgette fritti, chips, calamari, new side salad & nduja & cheese bites. Overall nice food but the mustard dressing was missing from the side salad & the sauce that came with the nduja & cheese bites, although nice was roughly a table spoons worth of sauce, not enough! 😞 The lemon wedge with the calamari was more like a slice!! The courgette fritti were really tasty. 😋 Would order again.

Having gone back to Ask after a few year the restaurant has had a few changes, not for the better. I know these be hard times but my thinking would be “let’s keep customers” The booking by phone should have warned me. What’s this that nobody talk’s anymore, this being an automated booking. Getting in was a chore as either I didn’t speak clearly or someone wasn’t listening. Seating was fine and a free (Hmmm) lemon drink. Not everyone ok with lemon! But ok. Drinks stood on the counter for 5 minutes, service thoughout being poor. I know I’m not the only customer. The meal for the four of us came in almost two sittings my food was on a cold plate which meant when the other two meals arrived mine was getting cold which was a pizza. Dominoes get a meal to me hotter. The meal itself was sparse more bread than topping. For the price of each meal I was very disappointed. The deserts were nice but again small. I’m not a big guy nor is my family big. I’m not a pig as in I like to stuff myself silly. But left hungry. I would be hard pushed to go back. The other thing that worried me was, there seemed to be a private joke going on with silly smirk’s. I wondered if I had something written on my forehead or just being Paranoid?

Food was soooo late from when it was originally booked and the time given initially. When it arrived the lasagne barely existed and was stone cold. The salad dish had clearly been cooked some time ago and smelt odd. The lettuce was brown and it was totally inedible. The pancetta also not cooked properly.

A fantastic meal food to die for. If you're in Southend, you've missed out if you don't go here. Great service from friendly staff who don't intrude at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended

Well, what can I say, this is the worst pizza that I ever had in my whole life, highly over priced for what they are serving, i ordered a sauce and its a small tub with one teaspoon worth of sauce in it, i ordered the kids pizza with the face for my 4 year old, and all they gave me is a pre-made oval pizza with no face. The pizza is tasteless with no seasoning and its not even sliced. If my daughter was not so hungry i would drive to the place and shove it down the lazy cooks throat, you shoeld

No cheese added or included on the side, no cutlery included as well.
