ASK Italian in Newham

We dropped in to Westfield as a family group of five adults following a visit to Abba Voyage at the nearby arena. A table was quickly found for us and we were very well looked after and served by attentive staff for the duration of our visit. Good, honest, tasty food enjoyed by all five of us. Very reasonably priced and we were more than happy to pay the optional team tip on the bill. "Thank you" to all.

I met a friend here for a meal mid week and all was good as the staff were attentive. They were understaffed for the number of diners but they worked hard to serve everyone. My friend’s meal was a sea food pasta which was very good. Mine was a carbonara, which is a dish you think you couldn’t get wrong as it’s quick and easy. The first serving had very soggy pasta so I asked for a replacement. The second dish was exactly the same so I didn’t eat. My experience was poor as I decided not to eat in the end. Service was good but the food was terrible.i had a supermarket ready meal when I got home instead.

I had met up with a friend in the area and after we went to the cinema, we had a wander and decided to try out this ASK Italian branch for dinner. We were briefly asked to wait a few seconds whilst they prepared an area for us to sit in and we were then taken to our table. And from start to finish I was extremely happy with the food and the service. I ordered a chicken pancetta pizza which was delicious whilst my friend ordered a salad bowl which they enjoyed too. I was also very happy how occasionally the staff came over to check everything was ok, which it was. One of them even offered to take a picture for me and my friend as I was struggling to get a selfie photo in. Also I was extremely happy by how reasonably priced the restaurant was and I would happily come here to eat dinner once again due to the outstanding food and service. If I could give this place a 6 instead of a 5, I would.

Quick service and food was brought out within 5 minutes of ordering, friendly staff and good atmosphere. Pretty reasonable prices too

A lovely experience. Food was perfect ! Adian was our waiter this evening and was so welcoming and attentive. We definitely will be back as we really enjoyed everything about eating at this Ask in Stratford.

What an absolute disgrace of a place. They seated five of us at a four person table and next to us we're a couple on four seater table set up. The manager had to ask the deputy manager about four times to set our table before even being seated, I've should've known them! Had to ask for it to be sorted so e could all sit and eat rung the table. Got the drinks order wrong, and instead of giving us the drinks they had got right, our server went back to the bar to return one of the wrong ones first. The food was overpriced, not that tasty and small portions. I had a carbonara for £16 that was at best, less than average. No black pepper or cheese was offered with our meals and again we had to ask. They forgot part of one of our meals that we had to ask for twice to sort that out. Really disappointed as was having a lovely day out with my family and it kinda ruined the vibe. In summary, any Italian who eat there, would be figured at the quality and quantity of food and the non existent service. A classic chain that can't serve the food the advertise to any decent standard or offer any kind of service via untrained and uninspired staff, while charging the earth for the privilege. I did not pay the 10% service fee which I was 'automatically' added, bloody cheek!

Great Expereince. They hosted 37 of us for our Christmas work party. Great organisation and support with last minute changes. Very accommodating. The team were extremely helpful and patient.

We had prebooked. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. We shared a chicken lecce starter (a favourite) followed by 2 x Stromboli pizzas which were very good. Nice clean restaurant with an extensive menu and good atmosphere. Reliably good food. Recommended when in the area.

The linguine was over cooked and had no flavour whatsoever. Clearly used frozen seafood that was watery, chewy and again no flavour. Absolutely vile. It’s disgusting that you would charge £15 for this quality of food. Horrible. Sort it out.

Very disappointed with my experience at Ask on 30th September. I've been to different locations before and it's always been very nice but this was something else. The tenderstem brocoli didn't taste like it had even touched the water, let alone been in any, it was cold and raw. My creamy ravioli was cold and oily and nothing creamy. The prawn and crayfish linguini, the prawns were like rubber, the crayfish inedible and it was awful. There was enough garlic to kill Dracula in one breath. The king prawns with the head and tail still on still had the digestive tract, although not needed to remove this, it would have been nice and made the meal more appetising. The service charge was added into the bill but frankly I didn't want to leave one but wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible.

It was the second time going to this chain but the first time in Stratford. Service was quick, food was delicious and hot and I couldn’t believe how quiet it was! I walked past other chains nearby which were packed and just couldn’t understand why more people were not going here. Definitely will be going back again.

Unfortunately the main meal that I wanted to order wasn’t available and weren’t made aware of that when given the menus initially. The alternative main I chose was fine. The customer service from the waitress who served us was, although attentive, could only be described as grumpy. She seemed unhappy to be working on a Bank Holiday Monday.

The worst experience we have had in a very long time. The “lasagne” was terrible and it was so warm it burned the inside of my mouth, blisters. It was very expensive for the quality and the quantity of food. Disappointing to say the least.

Ciao ~ 🇮🇹 Tried this Italian chain restaurant which we can see everywhere in London😂I went to the one located in Westfield Stratford after shopping with my friend. 1. We started with the new Cheese Fondue 🫕. The cheese fondue was very rich in flavor and creamy. It was all melt down and came perfectly with the Italian bread bites. The only problem was that the portion of the cheese was not big and was not enough for dipping all the bread. 2. Carne Piccante It was like a huge dumpling 🥟😂 It was named Calzone which was a folded pizza originating from Naples. The fillings were some mushroom, ham, beef and red wine ragu, and also some mozzarella. I like the texture of the pizza. But the calzone was already a bit cold when it was served on the table. I would like it more if the mozzarella inside was melted down. 3. Linguine Con Frutti Di Mare It was seafood linguine. That was it. It was no surprise and the seafood was these frozen prawns and mussels. The squid and clams were just normal. And the food was served a bit warm only. 4. Craft Still Lemonade It was quite refreshing. Really rather underwhelming experience at Ask Italian. On a positive our food order arrived quickly and I can recommend the primitivo red wine too. Our meals however were both disappointing. Chicken de la casa lacked chicken. Lasagne was small in portion. Service was okay, polite but not very attentive even though the place was quiet. Overall, just not a memorable meal.

Visited today for early dinner with some friends Had starters of calamari, which were very thin and rather chewy, bruschetta and arancini. Pizzas were ok, however not the real deal. Pleasant service but I don’t think we’ll be returning in a rush.
