Simple restaurant with decent Italian cuisine. Not a breathtaking interior, not at all super-attentive, but fast service, good spaghetti carbonara and seafood, pleased with the welcome drink. A quick and good lunch in the city center for reasonable money. Thank you

I have been this restaurant they good food, and fantastic service, the food is amazing.

We went with friends for a dinner. Service was great and food was very tasty.

Our party of 5 were well looked after with friendly staff taking our orders and delivering our drinks and meals in a timely manner, never feeling rushed or forgotten. A very enjoyable evening.

Great friendly atmosphere and staff , nothing was too much trouble , food was ok , however calamari was cooked beautifully but lacked flavour sadly and was too bland. Lemonade was more like squash but very refreshing, and the facilities in the ladies wasn’t the best , although kept very clean a few things broke unfortunately and needs some TLC!

Food was not good unfortunately, very greasy pizza and pasta, and over cooked pasta. We were not finished our starter and the main was straight out so I could tell it was cooked too early and pasta was burned at the top and the pasta was falling apart. Pizza was greasy and crust rock hard. Staff were very involved in their own super loud conversations not paying attention to the customers, loud cursing language we could hear and so the ambiance was ruined. What could of been a nice, relaxing meal in Oxford, was unfortunately then not to be. It just seemed like a really unprofessional environment. I was surprised the management were acting this way also. The focus was definitely not on the customers and their experience. For the price we paid, you would expect better. Will not be returning. We had a way better experience before, across the road in Bella Italia and they had a nice discount too. Very disappointing experience with Ask Italian.

Service was nice, food was terrible

Came here before a theatre visit and although the food was fine I was amazed that they don't like you paying with cash so unless you have the exact amount, you won't get change. Nothing on the door telling this and waitress didn't mention it till I tried to give her cash. Needless to say she forfeited her tip cos I had no change left after scraping together the exact money

I got food poisoning. The food was not good at all.

Taken to sit at a table that was dirty so had to use some of the water and a napkin to clean it. We both had pizzas and both found that our pizzas were tasteless. We ordered fries which were good as were the sauces with them ( sauces were useful to give my pizza a little taste. We both had gelato which were nice ice cream is ice cream! Asked for the bill and we were going to pay by card when we noticed they had added nearly £7 and when my husband tried to remove it it the said di you want to round up the amount! My husband was not happy so he got all the tip and rounding off. He didn’t give a tip as the good and service were nothing to write home about!! Oh and the disabled toilet was disgusting obviously no one checks the toilets!!

We had pizzas and carbonara for dinner. Both were well cooked. However, the pasta in particular got cold very quickly. Although the weather was cool, the air conditioning was running. We had asked three times to switch it off as we didn't fancy cold food and a cold. But about a minute later, the air conditioning was each time running again.

The food is absolutely amazing. Everything is well prepared and served in a short time and the service is wonderful. The people are very cheerful and very helpful and this place is a must see for anyone who goes to Oxford

This was our second visit to Ask Italian in Oxford. We were here about a year ago and loved it——so we thought we’d try it again. It turned out to be a great selection as the food and atmosphere were as good as we remembered, and Andreea was perfect in her role as a server for us! We felt welcome, and we felt that she had a sincere desire to make our visit special! Definitely recommended!

It was very allergy friendly including separate menus. As well as the food was delicious. I loved the Italian decor and the staff was very friendly.

I ordered my food to be delivered although the food arrived on time it was all cold and did not seem fresh ( the chips were partially warm and had very little mayonnaise) the pasta was cold and tasted like it had been reheated so it did not seem fresh. The cheesecake was like a melted sluge probably the heat from the other food made it that way. The food tasted nothing like dining at the restaurant if I didn't know better I would think it was food from a knock off ask restaurant. I definitely won't be ordering from here again

Very good service, Amelia was very helpful when we asked her questions and was very kind. She was very understanding when there was a communication issue with having the starter as a main and the other staff brought it out as a starter so she was understanding and sorry and took it off our bill .

The girl who was wearing a white blouse yesterday had a racist attitude, was not smiling, and her service was poor. She threw the dishes in a provocative way and tossed the menu in a rude manner.

Lovely food just what I wanted. Pizza first night and pasta the next. Food was hot tasty and well seasoned. The staff although busy, were very pleasant and smiley. No delays on any courses.

We had a 2 for 1 offer and visited for lunch. Our waitress was very pleasant; our drinks came quickly and our food wasn't far behind. My manzo piccante was piping hot and a good sized portion. It was perfectly OK but not very "piccante". Mrs D's lasagne was meaty but lacked flavour. We both had room for Sicilian lemon tart, which was very nice. Thanks to our 2 for 1 offer, our bill, with drinks worked out at £20 a head - which wasn't unreasonable. An OK meal but we wouldn't rush to go back.

We had the buratta pasta and the beef brisket. Both of them were delicious! Would recommend!

Great experience for my son’s birthday it had an excellent range of colors in the atmosphere and a range of pastas and pizzas. It was not so loud as well.

We met in town for lunch and decided to go with a pizza place on George Street No regrets, this place was very nice, food was great, service quick and friendly Kids menu all good enjoyed that too 👍

I tried their spaghetti before. It was good. I would like to try it again. But the staff doesn’t take any customer after 9pm even on Saturday. Even though they closed at 11pm

Rude staff awful food. When asked if a dish contained lactose was told to "check the menu" in a dismissive manner. The lasagna tested awful, undercooked and bland. Tesco pre-made lasagna tastes better. The fettuccine Bolognese was undercooked. The pizza gluten free was so bad we left 3/4 of it. When asked for the bill the server just handed the bill and walked off. Charging 17£+ for food of such poor quality is borderline robbery. There is nothing Italian about this place.

Adorable interior with delicious Italian food. Hard to choose what to order because the whole menu sounded so good.

No complaints here. we were early and it was very quiet. Food was good with attentive service.

Drinks took forever and one short. Waited ages to get that. Some meals virtually cold. One meal completely wrong. Again waited ages of that but they did take charge off bill. After meal told no hot drinks available so no coffee for us! When paying told don't usually take cash so there wouldn't be any change. Why don't they tell you that when you book? Stairwells to loos absolutely freezing. This was an annual reunion so we'll find another venue in future. Did send feedback but they don't even acknowledge it. Pretty poor.

This was such a nice place. They give you a cute little drink when you come. I was in a bit of a rush and was a bit concerned if i was going to miss the bus. But fortunately the food was hot, tasty and came quickly. The staff was really nice

Don’t be surprised when your food doesn’t come out like the pictures online. Very disappointing, was expecting what was on their website. My carbonara was felt very stale and not as pleasant as I would have expected an Italian restaurants pasta to taste like.

Awful experience and our waitress, Amelia was very rude. Childrens spaghetti bolognese was terribly bland. Even our 2 year old who demolishes everything turned his nose up. Item was taken off the bill but with no apology. Our waitress, Amelia, was very rude. Ignored us once she assumed she wasn't getting a tip and started clearing our table whilst we waited by the till for our receipt, without acknowledging we we're waiting It's a shame as we were hoping to dine there next month with a large group for a family event, but following tonight experience, we will not be returning!

Bland food, pizzas did not have enough toppings, tables very close together, no personal service, felt like being on a conveyor belt.

Didn't book in advance. Walked in and got a timed table 17:30 - 18:30 which was fair enough.... Service prompt and efficient. Food tastey Price vs portion size. Personally I wouldn't have minded a bit more on my plate.

Great venue for a pre theatre meal before a show. The location is great, the menu was very good, all reasonably priced, and the food was excellent. The staff were friendly and very efficient to ensure our meal was served in good time.

My family and I love ASK italian, the food is well worth the money. It is extremely tasty, good portions and not expensive. The service is friendly and helpful. The food I have ticked is not all it serves, my usual is not on there but the other things on the menu are highly recommended from me and my family.

Super comfy place to have a nice little dinner with your friends or dear one. Service is immaculate and no excess banter. Loved the extra perk for Ask Italian membership every month. Price may be a bit high compared to other small Italian restaurants in Oxford but the location is in the dead center. 👍

My girlfriend took me here for food on my birthday and she tried to pay at the bar and refused and went to the table and the waitress wouldn’t let my girlfriend pay and I was forced to pay I don’t have a problem with me paying it’s the fact she was treating me for my birthday and she was refused to pay by the waitress

Food was basic but the service was absolutely awful head waitress was rude ! She shoved the chip and pin in my partners face and forcefully said tip when she had been rude the entire service and was observed to also be rude to a clearly new staff member. Having an hostile waitress ruined the entire meal won’t return

Italian Food for the English people? My food was so bland and lacking in anything identifiable as Italian. No dressing on the watery and tasteless salad capresse. We all had sea bass, which was okay, but again, there was no real essence of Italy. Deserts OK. Serving staff varied, first one miserably unhelpful latter two managed to smile.

This place was so nice! The food was so unique and the pudding is so nice. Even the kid menu was unique and cheap. However a member of staff did brake a cup. FIVE STARS

Good quality Italian dishes with a fast and friendly service. This outlet seems to be busy on all days if the week. We got here on a Tuesday and had to wait a few minutes before offered a table. Limited pasta variety but very good quality. We ordered and got served with the food within 10 minutes. A good choice for a moderately priced Italian restaurant in London.

I was welcomed with an Italian homemade lemonade which was perfectly refreshing. I had the butterfly prawns to start with which arrived on a sizzling dish and served with sourdough bread. It was well cooked and very tasty with just the right amount of garlic. For the main I had the classic pasta ragusa served with a fresh side salad. Accompanied by 2 glasses of Merlot, this was a wonderful experience.

We had a great meal here tonight. I am gluten intolerant and the menu here catered brilliantly Shared a starter, main each + shared dessert it was all delicious Pleasant service Will definitely come back

Absolutely dreadful service, had to wait ages to be even order drinks, bruchetta starter was just soggy bread with cold tomatoes and no red onion! My dinner was advertised as butterfly chicken breast, which came out looking and tasting like a soggy Bernard Matthews turkey burger, no way a chicken breast, just processed and at a cost of £17.50!! We waited ages again for the staff to collect our plates, 1 was collected, then the otherv2 were not collected even after 15 minutes. After waiting all this time I brought my uneaten dinner up to the kitchen and said I would not be paying as it was inedible. The refund was put on the bill ( when after another 15 minutes waiting) The service was terrible and the food even worse. Very disappointed 😞

As the waiter who greeted me was about to show me to my table, his colleague who seemed more senior told him it wouldn’t be possible. I think it was because it was Friday evening, I was eating on my own and there were plenty of customers coming into the restaurant so they wanted to maximise the seating space. However, there were two free tables which had not been booked. It was both humiliating and rude.

The starters were okay, for the main my partner and I went for the KING PRAWN & CRAYFISH FRILLY TAGLIATELLE .. and we were served a nearly raw, hard chewy pasta that we couldn’t eat, pure disappointment !

Where do I begin. My wife attended Ask Italian with her 12 week old Son, her older Sister and two nieces. Shown to a tiny table with no room for the push chair, asked to move and was shown to any empty table not made up. This was not done until the food arrived. Service was incredibly slow - strange given only two families were eating at the time! My wife then requested some boiling water to make up fresh baby formula which was refused. The manager then also refused citing policy. My wife suggested that the staff take the baby bottle and fill it themselves - also refused!! My wife needed to feed our baby and was left gobsmacked by a restaurant that refused to provide some hot water!! Absolutely avoid. Staff need training and the Manager needs to learn when exceptions should be made to policy - this was a situation when an exception absolutely should have been made. Disgusting.

Delicious!!! We stumbled into this place as it was right next to the bus stop, so pleasantly surprised by wonderful Italian food!

Chose this initially as able to accommodate family as a walk in - after being refused at Bella Italia opposite (too busy even with half of tables vacant!) Good choice from the little touch of fresh lemonade shots given whilst sitting down. Lots of choice on menu to make vegetarian of group happy plus son who likes spicy. Prompt service, attentive without being overwhelmed. Fresh hot food with decent portion sizes for us all to be content with our choices. Would definite recommend and return should we visit Oxford again

En nuestra visita a Oxford paramos a comer en Ask Italian, pues lo teníamos planificado en nuestra ruta turística aunque no habíamos reservado. Al llegar, uno de los camareros nos dice que no hay mesa y que tenemos que esperar 45 minutos… Yo no podía dejar de ver una mesa vacía y aunque mis amigos querían marcharse volví a preguntar a otra camarera. Nos dio mesa en el momento. Increíble. Al sentarnos, nos ofrecieron un sorbito de limonada casera buenísima. Un gran gesto por parte de ellos. Durante el servicio, aunque con algún que otro despiste más, siempre estuvieron bastante atentos. El camarero “despistado” nos reconoció que era su segundo día trabajando. Le pregunté por postres caseros y todavía sigo esperando respuesta a pesar de decirnos que nos los diría, no sabía lo que eran las bebidas vegetales ni si tenían sacarina… Un poco caótico todo. Pero todo se perdona porque la comida es sublime. Espectacular; desde las aceitunas italianas, pasando por la pasta al horno de la casa y sus postres italianos que pedimos para compartir en versión mini y que no pudimos terminar (tiramisú, galletas y panacota). El café no está mal. El local es precioso y muy acogedor. La higiene es correcta. La ubicación ideal para hacer una parada y continuar recorriendo la maravillosa ciudad de Oxford.
