Awful. Ordered beef FRIED rice and ended up with anaemic boiled beef dried rice. No flavour whatsoever and the Singapore chow mein was like straw with hardly any meat. They even managed to fk the chips up which were clearly re-heated, dry and hard. Wouldn’t even give it to the dog. Straight in the bin.

Had a great evening out with my wife I’d been hearing whispers about the street food they serve so I ordered the spicy beef from the Chinese special menu and I wasn’t disappointed at all. They are definitely on to something here. We’ve found our new regular.

Used the predecessor business Wokfusion a few times before it closed a while ago. It was OK. When Asian Box opened here a month or so ago we knew the name because there is a takeaway also called Asian Box in Market Road Plympton which might have the same ownership/management. We’ve eaten both in the Mutley restaurant and had a delivery. The eat in meal was better but both were OK and fairly priced. There are very limited options for eating in on this busy day and nighttime street. A Chinese choice is no bad thing.

Best carvery in Plymouth no doubt about it. The meat is always so soft and tender, hardly any fat on the beef and get plenty of it. There’s a huge selection of veg, more than you can think of. There’s kitchen staff seem nice enough but some of the bar staff/waiters are so miserable and seem like they cannot be bothered to serve you. You need to book to avoid disappointment or you may have a very long wait for a table

The owners of the chain and the delivery offshoot made a reasonable fist of running this place but after months of lockdown closure the company have decided to cease trading on this site and in this city and many others.

It appears that the staff had someone compose the previous review early hours this morning. As last night I ordered from this place and after being spoken to so badly, I asked for her name, she refused to provide it. I have never encountered such discourtesy before. I placed an order and clearly communicated my preferences, especially since she specifically stated that the chicken chow mein came with barbecue sauce. I also asked do they do egg for the rice. The lady stated yes. I clearly remember my conversations, even when I first called the receptionist was distracted and kept telling me to hold. Instead of receiving egg fried rice or chicken chow mein, I was only given special fried rice. While I understand that mistakes happen, I was shocked by the bad attitude I faced when I called. She wouldn't acknowledge her error or even accept there was a miscommunication. (maybe if she listened and concentrated when I was on the phone). There are two young girls at the desk taking orders, and unfortunately, their immature behaviour and lack of customer service are hurting this business. Aside from the review that was evidently written by one of their friends, early hours this morning, stating her name, you'll find that the most recent feedback highlights the poor attitude of the customer service. However, the delivery personnel were very polite and genuinely apologetic about the situation. Why not have them at the reception instead? First point of contact is very important. I currently will not be placing any more orders here. But maybe an apology would be helpful. Your staff could benefit from basic customer service training, as the receptionist seems unable to handle basic complaints. I assume you also allow them to respond to customers reviews on here, as some replies are very unprofessional. Their replies sometimes suggest a refusal to accept that their customer service was inadequate, showing in capability of learning and willingness to provide better service.
