Ashukaa Lawley in Telford and Wrekin

This is our regular. The food is always the same, never had a bad meal from here. Our daughter struggles to tolerate chilli heat and they make her butter chicken perfect. She will not eat curry from anywhere else!! Will be back very soon!!

Food was spot on last night for our family meal. Been using this restaurant since it opened and never had a bad meal, one of our preferred places to eat out at. Staff are very good with our 2 year old boy that can become very vocal but they wernt bothered by it all. Would recommend to anyone.

First-class service and sublime food. Have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to anyone looking for top-class food. I will certainly be returning soon

Exquisite food and service. Had a lovely romantic meal with my boyfriend. Made to feel so welcome. Have to take your own alcohol which is fine because there is an off licence over the road. Perfect location, in the heart of Lawley. Going again at the end of March, cannot wait :)

Been coming to this restaurant for many years and have never had a bad experience. The staff are extremely welcoming and bend over backwards to make sure you have a good time. Such a wide range of food, however I always stick to my favourite which is vegetable madras. Would highly recommend visiting. We often have takeaway too, which is amazing too.

Food was just okay, always seems to be alot staff working in the restaurant very often more than customers not sure how/why they do it. Unlicensed so take your own alcohol but must buy soft drinks such as a class of squash for £3. No tap water available but not sure they use bottled water for the squash? You pay extra for the sauces/dips usually given for free when you have poppadoms. 3 poppadoms with the dips (which they take away when you have finished said poppadoms) worked out at £9.30! £10 for chicken nuggets and chips? More than alot of the curries. Is see where there claw the money back from not selling alcohol.

Lovely restaurant. We visited as a group if 6 & we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Everything came out together & it was all hot & tasty. Friendly waiting staff & nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant does not have a licence, so you are welcome to take your own alcoholic drinks. Soft drinks are available to buy. Water is only available in bottles to purchase, they do not supply jugs of tap water.

We love it here, really good curry and good service. Would recommend the chicken dhansak and chicken chom chom.

Visited with friends, food is nice but wow was let down when we sat in. We asked for tap water for the table and was told because they don't make money from tap water, they don't serve it. So you're forced to drink expensive soft drinks or buy mineral water. The staff had not one smile on their face. It felt like we annoyed them for even coming. No 'thank you' or 'please', took away our plates without even asking if we were done. Service was slow too! All they seemed to care about was pushing more drinks. We had an enjoyable evening but it was because of the company and not the cuisine.

An excellent service by the Ashukka staff and food was fabulous. We had 18 in our party and all the food promptly delivered and excellent quality. We will definitely plan a re visit. Thank you.

Visited on the 16th December and the service and food was outstanding. Food piping hot and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Thankyou so much and look forward to coming back real soon. My partner and I ordered the chill Mosalla and if you like a hot spicy dish I would highly recommend

We stumbled across this restaurant just over 8 months ago and been regulars ever since. Ali and the boys are always very courteous professional and friendly Ali to be fair is a real character..Ashukaa does not have an alcohol license so you can take your own however all soft drinks including water must be purchased onsite not an issue whatsoever. We have now tried several dishes starters and mains and I can honestly say the quality and freshness of the dishes are second to none. We have tried several tandoori Bangladeshi restaurants within and around the surrounding area and Ashukaa is definitely the best on all counts food wise and price wise.Would highly recommend this restaurant and if gets 5 stars from us,well done Ali and to all your lovely staff

Nice meal tonight however the young waiter with a beard thought it would be funny to come over to our table and insult one of our party. Very odd behaviour and spoilt our night. He is lucky he didn’t get punched to be honest. We were regulars but we won’t be back after this. There are better value Indian restaurants nearby.

We came here last month with my parents and boyfriend for a meal. Ali, the manager, was as funny and friendly as always, the food was brilliant and the service, fantastic. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a meal/ curry in Telford!

Had dinner today and it was absolutely fantastic. Had a lamb Biryani with tandoori bits as a starter, the food was made to perfection. Was lovely to have the place to my self as usually when I come on a Friday/ Saturday night it’s ram packed! Haha. Was served by my usual waiter Tuhal, top banter that guy and the big boss Ali always making sure my food is up to scratch also showing great customer host… recommended place to anyone, 10/10 food and fantastic host will not disappoint. :)

We started coming here when we lived locally nine years ago. We have now moved ten miles away. Having tried all in our new local area we will still travel ten miles there and ten miles back. In all this time we have never ever felt disappointed. By far the best around, no question. Friendly & helpful management & staff, keep up the good work.

The rudest staff we have ever come across.Literally shouting across the room, taking plates away before we had finished, drinks half full were removed and too top it off a confrontation as we left.Literally speechless, 6/10 foodAlot lot better literally within 1 mile.Avoid at all costs and don't chance it

Excellent takeaway on New Years Day. Arrived on time, food was hot, tasty, and there was so much of it! Exactly what we ordered, packed well.

Christmas Day lunch. 2021We had been last year, quite happily so invited my daughter & grandaughter to enjoy a lovely meal out on Christmas Day with us.We were politely greeted at the entrance and seated at a table nicely set for four of us. The first thing my husband requested was a jug of water and 4 glasses.Then he poured our wine/cider drinks.We carefully studied our menu'sIt's a very comprehensive menu.The first thing that didn't sit right with me was that a waiter picked up my grandaughter's cracker to get her to pull it with HIM!He then did the same to my husband, leaving only 2 crackers for us to pull as a family!We were enjoying our starters and I asked my husband where our water was. (we had brought our own wine etc, as did everyone else)We still had no water, so I asked for a glass of water.The waiter said 'we don't sell tap water'.I said I'm not buying any - it should be free!He went away and there then began a whispering campaign with other staff.A different waiter told me they do not do tap water. I could see them beginning to look daggers in my direction, from the counter. (I can't call it a bar as they don't serve alcohol)I asked please could I have a glass of water, again as it was my human right.The evil looks and whispers continued.I was beginning to get a bit concerned as I watched them talk and glare at me.This actually went on for a good few minutes until a glass of water was brought to me. I was told that they are not obliged to give any free water.I can only say that this spoiled things for us. Where was the customer service, pleasantness and good will at Christmas etc...? All for a petty drink of tap water.I can say, however that the food was delicious and plentiful.They then seemed a little over zealous in taking every little thing away, which irked my husband. There was a huge dish of Naan Bread that none of us touched which I wanted to take for the birds in my garden. I hope they didn't serve it to some other customer.Their previously pleasant service had turned sour and seemed robotic.After paying our bill and standing to put our coats on... not a single one of them came to escort us to the door to say 'Thank you, Merry Christmas, Goodbye', which they did with every other customer on exiting.It was a lovely meal but their attitude after I requested water was completely unprofessional. Why? For the sake of a free glass of water which cost them absolutely nothing.

First visit, wonderful evening. Staff so friendly, made us all very welcome and lovely sense of humour. The food was outstanding, would highly recommend. We will definitely be returning on a regular basis. Many thanks to all the staff for a fabulous time.

I ate in the restaurant 2 years ago and loved it so when I moved up here I couldn’t wait to order. In the last month we’ve ordered 3 times.. everyone there is so lovely especially Shihab but entertainment don’t come for free :-)

This was one of the best curries I’ve ever had and my wife felt the same about her Biriani. I had one of the Specialities, called Tiger Tiger and was delicious. I can usually judge most restaurants by the Tarka Dhal and this was exception with that lovely subtle smokey flavour. Service was excellent and friendly too. The only criticism, and this may be due to the position of our table, was a rumble sound from the aircon/heating. Will definitely visit again.

Recommended by my father I went here and wasn’t disappointed at all. Bring your own alcohol too (There is an off licence opposite or Morrison’s around the corner). The food was to die for. The service was great and the waiting staff were chatty but not overbearing. The only problem we had was a loud mouthed, crass and racist man sat behind us. He loved the sound of his voice above everyone else’s in the restaurant. It was a Saturday night so it was busy. The manager came over to see us leave the restaurant and all he said was “but he comes every Saturday night”. So be warned if you go on a Saturday evening he will probably be in there. Apart from that great food, service and atmosphere

Went here tonight with my wife, the food was really tasty and wasn’t a long wait at all. But the service and friendly personalities from the waitresses’s is the reason I write this review. I didn’t catch their names but thank you.

So good to be back at the Ashukaa! Even though we've been having regular takeaways, to sit down and chat to Ali and especially his son, Shehab (known mostly as Sunshine) was as delightful as ever. The food was as excellent as ever: I had Chicken Tikka Achaari and Julie had Chicken Tikka Shashlik. Great to have them back properly!

We're from Spain and came to Telford area for business. We were looking for a nice indian place to close the stay and we couldnt maie a better choice. The manager was very pleasant and the service was fast and efficient. We tried some bit of starters and then some main courses and the experience was fantastic.

Disappointed with tonight’s popadoms. The rest of the takeaway was nice enough. What a shame as normally it is spot on.

Had another lovely meal at Ashukaa whilst out with a friend last night. Love this place, definitely the best Indian restaurant in Telford, their Vegetable Malayan is to die for! Very friendly attentive staff, good prices and Ali the owner always comes over to say hello. We sometimes try other places but they never compare to Ashukaa!

Ok, so I’m reviewing Ashukaa again. But this is following another visit to this restaurant.Once again the food was served piping hot and absolutely delicious. Service was polite and professional. You’re also welcome to take your own alcohol, but not soft drinks, which may be a little high on price but I’m aware this is a business needing to make money so understand.

My friend an i went to this restaurant first time to enjoy a night out, as we got into the restaurant the staff where unfriendly, put us on a horrible table near the door, we asked for some tap water and was told we are not allowed to have tap water an have to buy their water, which was ridiculous prices, so i wemt out to the local shop to buy some water, as I returned and sat down the manager of the restaurant came to my table an started shouting, raising his voice telling me that i am not allowed to bring my own water, he was so rude an unprofessional told us to get out, embarrassment us in front of a full restaurant, then followed me out an told me to fock off twice outside the restaurant, i have never seen a someone who calls themselves a manger to be a rude ignorant unprofessional person, he should not be working in this profession first an definitely the last time going to this restaurant.

We visit Ashukaa most Saturdays and would highly recommend the Food, staff and location. We have eaten there now for over a year and never had a poor or even just below a good meal. Highly recommended.

We saw the Sunday deal offer and decided to book a table and try it out, absolutely fantastic food at a fantastic price, plenty of options available, if you like a fab hot curry try the balti rose , a nice kick of heat completed by the spices ! Friendly staff with plenty of banter, a regular favourite of ours and family always ask to go there when visiting.

This is simple. I have visited Indian restaurants all over the UK from Brick Lane to Oban. I can honestly say that I have not tasted better. Nice staff, decor, and prices also. Wish it was local to me.

Myself and 5 friends went for a meal here as it is part of the eat out to help scheme. The service was initially friendly and attentive. All of us enjoyed the meal despite the slightly small portion sizes. We were all enjoying ourselves until we paid the bill; because as we did, we were told to leave. This seemed quite rude (especially as we tipped £17!).

Visited Ashukaa tonight with my son, as expected the restaurant was packed with diners taking advantage of the government eat out to help out scheme. I prepared myself for a slow service, I was completely wrong. The service was excellent and meals arrived super quick and as delicious as usual.It’s really good to see a business that has staffed their restaurant accordingly to offer a good service. It worked, I was delighted with the speed and efficiency of the Ashukaa team and really enjoyed the fantastic food.Thanks Ashukaa and well done.

1st time visiting and couldn't fault. From the moment you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff. The food was delicious and the covid safety measures in place were brilliant. I felt very at ease and will definitely return.

After moving back to the UK after 6 years abroad, we returned to Telford. We explored the new Lawley village, noticed the Ashukaa and decided at some point I give it a go as it would be our nearest Indian restaurant. That day after lifting and organizing and everything else, we decided to eat there! Initially a rookie error as we noticed no alcohol served as we went in. Luckily (or well planned!) an off license opposite! That issue resolved. We were warmly greeted, shown to our seats and ordered popadoms whilst perusing the menu. The Owner Ali came over and introduced himself, we explained it was our first full day back here and just moved in up the street. The food was delicious, full of glamour. All four of us decided it was the best Indian meal we had had for a very long time. So good, that in two weeks of living here we have been back 3 times already! Great menu, great food and great service!

Used the gov 50% off. The food was amazing. I had a keema naan, lamb biryani and poppadom dip starter.The staff took track and trace details which was great.... But then wore masks under their chin, nowhere near mouth and nose throughout the whole meal... Bit pointless putting them on at all. Apart from that everything else was great .

This was my first time at Ashukaa and i must say i was impressed at the quality of the food, staff were very attentive , very busy and still the food was excellent and i will return.

Chose here for our first meal out since lockdown and wasn't disappointed. Received a warm welcome. Good COVID setup for social distancing and responsible staffing. Food was excellent as usual. Had to have takeways from other places during lockdown but nothing compared to the quality of food and cooking we received today. Unfortunately it was quite tonight for dining in but if you are looking to venture out for a meal I would recommend trying here.

Splendid and Marvelous place to eat, customer service was amazing and they deffo kept the social distancing rule in place when I came to collect my order. Had a young gentleman when I popped in called Sheehab? and he offered great service, also offered me one chocolate orange whilst waiting for my order, haha cheers pal! I ordered the lamb Biryani, chicken tikka bits with some poppadoms with the dips, great taste, would deffo recommended. 10/10 would deffo give this place a try.

We have eaten from here a few times now and not once did they fail us! The flavours are amazing, the quantity is more than enough, especially if you like sharing bits of everything and unlike most in Telford, not one bit of grease found. Cant wait till my husband and I can go on a date night and eat in the restaurant which looks beautiful.

I have eaten here a lot, and fancied an indian during lockdown, ashukka managed to make the best korma still in Telford! Can’t wait to return

Collected a takeaway tonight, food was beautiful !! I have tried many in telford and been dissapointed by how greasy they were but this was perfection, I collected from the restraunt which looked lovely and the staff were really friendly and effecient, just wish they were open to eat in, will definitely be booking a table when the lockdown is lifted and can enjoy it straight to the table....great

We have been to Ashuka several times in the past. But not for a while. As previously the food was excellent. The service was prompt and attentive but not over bearing. Local store over the road to purchase drinks. We went in early in the evening but soon got busy. Suggest booking if going later. We will definitely be back.

My second time in this lovely restaurant and just as awesome. The food is amazing and the service is always spot on. A pleasure to eat here, will return when next in this area.

Went on a early Saturday evening. Was already busy which we felt was a good sign. Hasn't realised didn't serve alcohol not a problem though, has husband popped across the street to a local off-licence, where he bought a chilled bottle of wine. We had poppadoms with the chutney tray, tasty chutneys. Husband had Ashukaa special mix kebab starter, chicken, prawn and lamb, delicious. For mains we had Ashukaa Special curry and Cheesana Royal with plain naan both enjoyed and finished, no room for dessert. Decor and atmosphere good will be returning.

Wasn’t sure what to expect as we had never been and hadn’t read any reviews. We loved it. Staff were very friendly and chatty, helped to recommend a dish we hadn’t tried before. The place was very busy which is always a good sign. Food was delicious and the restaurant had lovely modern decor. Hope to return again soon.

Well we went tonight as a birthday treat after reading reviews we were very disappointed. The service was good but food very poor we shall not be returning would love to know who is writing these reviews.

We eat at the Ashukaa usually once a week and consistently it has the tastiest, most subtle Indian and Bangladeshi food I've ever had. Ali and his excellent staff are very welcoming and enjoy banter with the customers, all the while delivering amazing cuisine. I like to vary between the aromatic Murgh Bhuna Special all the way up to the deliciously fiery Duck Tikka Madras. I've been to many Indian restaurants over the years, many of them very good, but I think the Ashukaa is a class above all of them.Steve Levesley

We continue to visit Ashukaa because it really has maintained it’s high standards. The staff team treat you as friends and always happy to spend time chatting between courses. Food is top quality and reasonably priced. Top marks to Ali and his Team!

We thought we’d try a different restaurant than our usual Indian and we are glad we did. The food and service were excellent. The waiter advised on the dishes and they were all delicious and well presented. We will definitely return soon.

Went recently on a Saturday evening, glad we booked and went little earlier as got rather busy. Had a lovely table by the wall. We were greeted with a friendly handshake by a very courteous and professional man. Menu was extensive and very reasonably priced. Ordered some drinks and didn’t realise you could take your own alcohol until we were informed of this. Food was delicious! Came out piping hot and we were given just about the right time in between courses. Think this will now be our new go to restaurant for a really good and reasonably priced curry. Service was excellent, staff courteous and friendly and the food was so delicious. Thank you, will definitely be coming back to sample more of the menu!

I have visited this establishment twice. My first visit the food was enjoyable hence we returned however after my second visit in December I certainly will never visit again.

What a brilliant place to eat. Go here once a week. The best curry I have had in the UK. The Bengal Heatwave is out of this world. Friendly staff, brilliant service and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend it!

Just got home from a lovely evening at Ashukaa, Lawley. I have been going there for a number of years. The food was delicious as always and the service fantastic, not to mention the great coffee! The staff are always welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Honestly, this place deserves a review. I came for a trip to visit some of my local friends and w wanted a nice venue where we could eat... we saw this on trip advisor and honestly I’m so happy that I came. I had a delicious lamb biryani and I asked them if they could make me some masala chips ( wasn’t on the menu however they still knew what I was after ) with a garlic naan. Amazing. Truly delicious.

Had a dinner reservation with my fiancé and the food was perfect! The biryani was cooked to perfection and the lamb was very tender and soft. Well recommended!!

We always enjoy our meals at Ashukaa, friendly and efficient service.

We took our family of 8 and were disappointed by both the service and the food! We were greeted by a miserable waiter who told us the children couldn't drink their soft drinks as they supplied them there! After speaking with the owner we were allowed to do so! The service was slow and took around half an hour to give us a menu I was surprised as there were plenty of staff on, all the staff seemed miserable and wasn't a good atmosphere! The food was poor we have eaten much better,my husband ordered crispy chicken for a starter which was no more than chicken nuggets and his madras had no taste my food again was tasteless, as was the rest of the families!

A great Indian to try. Much better than any I have tried down south. Efficient service, great menu would happily visit again

Ordered a takeaway Sunday evening chicken tikka masala one of the worst Indian takeaway I’ve had in years very bland, and lots of food colouring almost to the point it was glow in the dark aluminise red.

Fantastic restaurant, lots of choice and the food is always really tasty. Brilliant service, the staff always recognise us and the food is served quickly.

we took my daughter and granddaughter to ashukaa for the first time last night , we were quite early so it was quiet but soon got busy well looked after , all our requests were catered for the food was pleasantly different from most indian restaurants it tasted fresher and more defined flavours than most , different in a good way ,Ali the manager was most attentive with a pleasant sense of humour he made us feel as if we were important without overdoing it which not always the case in some restaurants ,the down side is you need to take your own drinks but there is a very good wine store directly opposite and perhaps a little Indian music to give a little more atmosphere to this very pleasant restaurant just around the corner from Morrison's in lawley worth finding thanks Ali

Been to this Indian since day one .never had a bad meal. Will all ways take family and friends and Xmas day is all ways excellent love this place and would all ways recommend take aways and meals in the restaurant

The restaurant was recommended to me by a friend. Upon getting there it wasn’t too busy, the service was friendly & quick. The food arrived & it was highly disappointing, the chicken was very dry, the curry was quite greasy & the Naan Bread was also quite greasy & bland tasting. Best thing was the sides to the Poppadom’s.

Two of the four meals were incorrect. One meal a chicken tikka was not a tikka. The other a midras was not a midras but vey bland. The reception read back the order correct So the kitchen got it wrong. Will not go back

Have been visiting this restaurant since moving to Telford last year. Great selection of food, helpful courteous staff, will always find a table for you even when it’s busy and you haven’t booked.

I come Telford once every 4 months on a business trip and Whilst on this business trip it’s only right I stop at Ashuka. what draws me to this place is the customer service and ofcouse the food! Mr Ali has a face you can never forget, with his great customer service. I get the lamb Biryani with some chips and garlic naan and once again hasn’t disappointed me, the spice is perfect and you just know everything is freshly made. if you pass Telford, trust me this is a must stop place for some lovely Indian food. Deffo would recommend to anyone. 10/10 once again.

Had takeaway from here a few times and it’s been great, portions are big so enough to share between 2 which is a bonus. Food is tasty & fresh and the staff are always friendly when you go in. Never eaten in the restaurant but always seems busy, so must be popular for eating in also.

I LOVE THEIR FOOD. I have eaten in and taken away so many times over the past couple of years. My last two birthday meals were from here.

After many visits here tonight we were very disappointed first of all our two of four meals arrived 10 - 15mins before the remaining two so one of us had pretty much finished before other meals arrived, no prawns, no lamb (although there adamant there was),some meats were cold / warm this was brought to there attention but no apology. We were offered a replacement but we had already waited well over a normal time so just got on with it. A member choked on the gristle on the meat.mango dip was like water, then to be offered £5 off when the offer is £10 off over £60 anyway ( we didn't have cutting it was on our phone but still couldn't accommodate it). I asked for names and paid the bill then left but was soon followed out the door for his paper bill. Not what I expected from a Indian I have used since it opened and we're extremely rude whilst stood with a smug grin on his face!

If you want to experience how an Indian shouldn’t taste and look, you should go here. Curry was tasteless and extremely watery. Very below average. As other reviews have stated they do not take card so go with cash. Very disappointed and won’t be returning.

Food was 20 minutes late. My partner ordered the food at 6.50pm for delivery at 8pm. Called up when food was 15 minutes late, no apology just told food was on its way. When it finally arrived we was over charged by 85p due to the prices being incorrect on the website & still didn't receive an apology for the food being 20 minutes late. Currys were piping hot but rice & naan were cold very disappointing.

Ashukaa is local to me, just a 5min walk. My friend and I had the most delicious meal tonight. The owner was very welcoming and made wonderful recommendations on what we should eat based on what we liked. Very attentive but relaxed. Highly recommended.

I'd heard really good things about this restaurant so gave it a try. I was a bit disappointed to be frank. There is no licensing for alcohol. Not a major problem and had to pop to the off licence across the street. You can pay by card but they have a cash ATM in the restaurant. What's that about? Why not just have a card machine?

Best Indian around, friendly staff and service is always amazing. Very accommodating to our 2.5yr old who has been coming here since he was 4 months...! Thanks Ali & family!

First visit to this restaurant was not disaspointed. Food was tasty, plentiful and well presented. Would highly recommend.

We love the food here, full of taste, and very quick service. They are right on our doorstep so we usually collect. Highly recommended

on arrival staff very pleasant , food arrived not very big portions . dish was not ordered told the staff . they did nothing or said nothing . felt very uncomfortable towards the end . couldn't wait to clear the table .so we paid and left

Once again lovely food and service had chicken tikka naga starter was beautiful then for a main course chicken madras nice and hot just how it should be, come again? Definitely
