we generally have a chippy supper once a month and we find that Ashtons is up there with the best of them. Great fish, proper chips and choice of curry sauces. Worth giving it a go if your passing.

Great fish & chips, good variety of food & drinks. On different visits had steak pies , rag puddings , & the fish all with chips & mushy peas also bought the strawberry ice cream.

The proprietor was very chatty, and assured me that although my fish would take a couple of minutes to be cooked to order, it would be worth the wait. And it certainly was! Very tasty and the chips were well cooked as well.

Tong EndI’ve just spent Christmas Day at The Cock and Magpie and it was absolutely beautiful. The atmosphere was amazing the food was absolutely beautiful and absolutely huge generous portions and as usual the landlord always takes time no matter how busy he is to come and have a chat. The staff also cannot do enough for you. I couldn’t recommend this pub enough it’s a little haven.
