Ashby Lodge, Greene King Pub & Carvery in North Lincolnshire

Over from Australia on a visit. Had dinner here on a Thursday night , both had the carvery, great value and great service from their friendly staff.

Dinner was cold potatoes where hard and hard to chew meat was ok rest of dinner was not nice will not be eating here again

Wouldn't go here again Tacky tables and condiments glasses filthy and sticky Food only just acceptablely average. Needs a deep clean and new glasses or. Better dishwasher 😣

Ashby Lodge has become one of my go-to spots for a classic British breakfast, and it never disappoints. Kenzie & Sarah who served me was very nice and helpful me and my family really appreciate and enjoyed our time at the Ashby lodge and we will definitely be coming back hope to see Sarah and kenzie very soon

I came here three weeks ago and my car was hit in the car park i went inside and asked the landlord if he could check the cctv and he agreed however then asked why i was looking at my car after being parked up (insinuating the marks were akready there )and said no cars had gone near it at all i now know this is not true and the landlord blatantly lied to me my car was hit here i now know this for a fact .ive been coming here for years and didnt expect to be treated this way maybe the car that hit my car was one of his staff members or family either way i feel he should have done the right thing i wont be risking parking my car there ever again

Myself and a friend visit this pub at least twice or three times a week for meals out. The service is usually spot on as we know most of the front of house staff. Today we walked in to be told 'if you haven't booked you need to come back at 6.30pm'. There were clearly tables free that didn't have a reserved notice on them. We didn't care where we sat, or if we would have a delay in being served. Just rude and disrespectful. Time to take our business elsewhere. Such a shame.

The pub is busy and buzzing which was nice. I ordered a cheese and bacon burger with fries. The amount of bacon on the burger was silly, it was 1 piece in the middle measuring 1cm wide and 3cms long. When I took it to the bar to complain, the guy smirked and said said " that's the spec! There was no attempt to rectify or apologise. On the burger was also bad lettuce black and brown around the edges. I will not be returning!

Cold chips, cold peas. Fish ok.

Great carvery, good food cooked on the premises. Very popular, you need to get there early to avoid the queues. Recommended

Was looking fo a carvery recently and not been here for a while. I'd say excellent they've really nailed it in Scunthorpe. Definitely best in Scunthorpe I've often travelled to doncaster or hull for a toby in the past. but got to say well done to the team better than Toby. Everything on offer was great. Thanks

we have just arrived home. from a pleasant afternoon. at Ashby Lodge. with our little pooch. great that we can take him. and he was given a little goodie bag to take home. by Victoria the team manager. service was great efficient and tables cleaned ..the manager was on it 👌. as soon as tables needed clearing. they were done. food was hot. served by a friendly chef..would highly recommend the carvery. we left full and satisfied .well done to all at Ashby Lodge

Cannot rate this place enough it’s definitely super dog friendly ( have to sit in bar but super cosy) and very welcoming staff nothing is too much even when it’s absolutely packed out and not to mention the unreal food menu so much choice and carvery which was well worth going for alone! My partner ordered from normal menu and he absolutely loved his meal we will 100% be returning this is by far the best greene king we have been to!

Food superb. Couldn’t fault it. Trinity is a pro at pulling pints of Guinness. Some rather ‘interesting shaped Shamrocks!’ ❤️

Excellent carvery good choice of tender meats and plenty of vegetables to add and 3 types of potatoes. You have the opportunity to order large plates or a medium.There is also a typical pub menu if you don't want the carvery. Staff are helpful and friendly and the prices are very competitive.

Had buttermilk chicken with chips, peas and corn on the cob. Everything but the chicken was cold and inedible as was the chicken which was burnt. Won't be returning

Booked for seven for carvery, that was ok, pre paid for puddings, ready at eight for them asked several times, got them around half nine, the worst service I have encountered. It does not encourage me back. I received a reply to this from Ashby Lodge, basically a copy and paste job, no real recognition of our experience. They had their money and essentially couldn't care less.

I usually love this place. Though I was disappointed as our booking was cancelled without explanation or apologies 1h15m beforehand. We did not see the email and turned up as we were already travelling at this point.

Service was very slow and unorganised. Manager couldn't manage an empty pub.

I would love to keep my visit in mind but at 2pm 2hrs before we were booked in to eat I recived an email to say booking cancelled, no explanation no sorry no nothing. It was disgusting.i get that things happen but no explanation was shocking

Been coming here for a few years now decided to write a review, food sometimes excellent sometimes average but can never moan at the price. What gets me is the bar service . If its a little busy be prepared to wait about 30 minutes to order a drink at the bar. Usually one person serving. Also thwy reserve tables hours in advance for some strange reason meaning you go in and 90% of the tables are reserved intersetingly enough im currently sat at a reserve table been here for over an hour no one has walked in to even claim it, suppose its silly on there part losing custom but yeah come through the week when its not busy cant complain.

Regular carvery participants. Thought we'd have something different today! I ordered Beef Lasagna which came out cold had to ask it to be taken back sorted! The garlic bread was only cooked/warmed on oneside. Partner ordered scampi with bread n butter, peas were cold! They too it back and they even microwave the butter for his bread! Which was not very appetising! Not a very good experience! They eventually brought me some more garlic bread after I had finished my meal that looked as if it had been cremated! I did say don't ask me if everything "was OK with my meal" as you would not like the answer! Very poor service regarding food!

Served by a guy called Kenzie (name on my receipt) he was honestly so lovely and personalised all of our experiences. Was so energetic and could tell he have his all into his job :)

Had the small carvery which was very good. Unfortunately I detest sprouts and cauliflower cheese so my veggies were a bit limited. Other than a good carvery.

Usually enjoy quiz night on Friday but now 10.30 last orders?! You queue then told can't be served then told to drink up and ushered out. Must be out by 11! The bar staff are great by the way. It's nice to have a chat and a drink after the quiz,but now we can't?

I have only been a handful of times, so in my experience, so far food is hit and miss if you are ordering anything other than the carvery ,but the atmosphere alone saves it and it's lovely staff 1 waitor in particular made our night and I believe his name was Kenzie apologies in advance if ive crucified the spelling of your name but would quite happily go just for your presents alone lol 😆 unfortunately for us we came in just recently for you to have selfishly taken a weekend off for your self lol 😆 hopefully we just got a off day on the food sides of things but definitely would visit again

Super busy wait to order food at the bar so might be best to download the app if in a rush. Beef was amazing!! Let down by the stuffing though. There isn't much service tbh as your put on the table and go order at the bar and get your food. Others where asked if they wanted desserts but we wasn't so we went to the bar to order them. But overall we will come back.

A Very Nice Carvery, a Very nice cosy Pub with Good food reasonably priced.

We had lunch at Ashby Lodge on a Friday. It was pretty busy which is always a good sign. We both had a carvery which was lovely, the meat was tender and tasty and a good selection of vegetables all well cooked. All staff were friendly and helpful and would gladly go again .

My son loves the carvery and always asks to come here. Never had a bad meal.

We had a carvery. Had some beef, turkey and ham. All nicely cooked. Roast potatoes and mash and small 'new potatoes ' together with a selection of vegetables. All very hot (which I like) staff friendly.

Big improvement on previous owners, food good and reasonable price!

Great English breakfasts Well recommend

First of all I ordered the double burger one was perfect and they other had half the meat missing. Second off, the roast potato's are dry, not cooked properly and need more work. The last thing thing I'm going to complain about is your pastry on the pie, it's too hard and couldn't eat it as of how hard it was.

The carvery here is the best for miles around, as is the mixed grill, both are so tasty and cooked really well. Staff are lovely, we book on line now as often they are too busy to answer the phone. Would definitely recommend.

Typical Green King pub, good choice of food and a nice decently priced carvery. Decent selection of drinks. Friendly staff, good parking and places to sit outside if that's your thing.

Staying in the area with work and found this place which is literally 5 minutes from the site and used for lunch daily as great food and a great price and lots of choice and recommended. One of the best we’ve found around the country working away.

Lovely meal...we had a dog and my elderly mum so we had to sit in the bar area ( this was not a problem), however all the tables /chairs were quite high which was very difficult for my 92yr old mum to sit on safely. Please can a couple of lower (normal) size tables be available. Otherwise this was a lovely experience .

Had another great carvery here and asked for a take out box so I could take some of the gammon fat home and they said yes thanks for a good evening see you again soon The take out was beautiful today too

Shocking place. Ordered on the app. Had to go to the bar to get our drinks twice because nobody could be bothered to bring them. Waited over 30 mins for desserts and it wasn't even busy. Won't be coming back. You've asked for further details When we got seated at the table, you encourage people to download the app to order, so we did. This is where the problem started. Everything was OK up to the point where it asks for table number. There was no table number where we were sat. Out of the other 4 tables around us, only 1 had a number. The waitress informed us of the number and proceeded with the order. After about 20 mins, 2 of the mains came out as the other 2 were carvery. We said to the waitress we were still waiting for our drinks, to which she replied she will have a look. When we got to the carvery queue we could see our drinks on the bar. Also the carvery only had gammon which I wasn't expecting. According to the carver, that's all they had. After getting back to the table just under 10 mins later, the drinks were still sitting on the bar, so we got them ourselves. We ordered another drink through the app, and the same thing happened, we had to get it ourselves. We mentioned this to the waitress and she said someone isn't doing their job right. For dessert, we ordered at the bar this time. 20 mins later, we asked the waitress where they were, and she said they were being done now. Another 20 mins passed before they came out. You can see from this experience why I left the review I did.

Beer tasted awful so had to go and get another. Child's plate was so hot when it came out. Baby food was also far too hot. Staff didn't seem to know what they were doing.

Steak was lovely, Carvery was aweful beef and turkey tasted wierd gammon was okay peas were tasteless roasties greasy and tasted like done in old fat. Stuffin was dry and clogged. We eat here regularly and normally enjoy it but this time was awful. Also the service we received off the woman serving the carvery was rude and the amount of meat (which in this case is a good thing) was pitiful.

Struggling to be considered mediocre. Carvery about average, microwave food for the rest of the menu leaves a lot to be desired. The desert is absolutely terrible. My advice is to go to a proper restaurant.

Came here for the quiz night...with friends some who are 18. One of them was refused service and was told that our whole table would not be allowed any more drinks. Appalling behaviour! Will not be coming here again!

Such a shame to have to leave a poor review!!! Been coming here for years for meals and for Friday night quiz. However the new manager was not pleasant at all we will not be back again. One of our group who is 18 but forgot her ID was refused alcohol, fair enough BUT the manager told all staff to refuse all 6 adults ( in our forties ) in the group alcohol!!! Shameful customer service.
