All toppings in pizza was on one side, like it was placed sideways, not flat. Most likely drivers fault

Found this restaurant by chance on a work trip and very would very happily return. The mocktail was delicious, the staff friendly and the food was authentic Italian and delicious.

Very nice food, great service, would highly recommend. Only downside was noise for the first half hour we were there from 2 very drunk hen parties on a brunch.

Had high hopes, was slightly disappointed. A secondary door is needed at the front of the restaurant to ease with the massive draft that comes right through into the main seating area, as they never seem to shut the glass doors which are present. Service was very pleasant and overall good, but the main lady taking the orders on the tab needs to up her friendliness, a welcoming smile would be good. Ambience is OK, but is very dark and lots of tables in a space meaning the waitresses can easily barge you when walking by with orders. Also the music just isnt appropriate, its too loud and makes you feel like you are dining in the middle of a club. Quite pricey as it is, I find it cheeky to automatically add a service charge even if you can ask for it to be removed - if someone wants to tip they will do it themselves. Cocktails where good but expensive £8/9. Chip portion is tiny at £4 a pop. Plain garlic bread wasn't very garlicky and seemed a bit dry and on the burnt side. Didn't have dessert as £8 per portion is an absolutely obscene price. We enjoyed our mains and mine was very generous with the mushrooms, which is great. EDITED to add, my OH made a booking here to return for a postponed valentine's meal. Upon arrival we waited to be treated as we walked through the door and no one was there, we waited and we waited then finally someone arrived to tell us our table was not yet ready and to get a drink from the bar and wait (massive queue at the bar, waitress could of told them to serve us next since we where waiting for our table) we was just left to our own devices. We chose not to stay and went to a place around the corner with amazing customer service even though they where short staffed!!

My friend and I booked the St Patrick’s Day bottomless brunch. We could not fault a thing. I had the ham and mushroom pizza and my friend had the lasagne. Absolutely amazing food. The drinks were kept flowing and service very friendly and attentive. The cocktails are to die for and all in all a fabulous time was had. Great value for money

We had dinner on Saturday evening at Lavo and every course was beyond delicious For Starter I had calamari, which were cooked perfectly, not a bit of overcooked rubber in sight My husband had the mussels and clams in wine sauce, and the sauce was so tasty For main I had pan fried sea bream and he had lobster ravioli – Perfetto! Last time we came I had tiramisu and it was nothing like an Italian Tiramisu. This time oh my goodness. I could have been sat in the restaurant facing the Pantheon in Rome which serves the best Tiramisu! Kat was our waitress and she was lovely, and I asked if I could go to the Pass to speak to the chefs to pass on our compliments – Rita and another guy. We shall be back very soon and will be recommending Lavo to one and all!

Great ambience - lovely food and mocktails! Mango versions are the best in my opinion - the virgin strawberry and apple mojito was abit too overpowering but other than that really recommend to come here ! Lovely interior for pictures

Lavo Occasion, dinner for two, prior to UOGB in Baths Halls. Walk in, no reservation. Decor, contemporary, semi industrial feel, glass partitions separating bar from dining. Serving staff immaculately presented, fixtures and fittings, crockery and glassware sparklingly clean, and tastefully chosen for the ambiance. Ordered, two appetizers, mussels clams, bruschetta. Two mains, tagliatelle pollo mushrooms, and spaghetti a la carbonara. Each dish was perfectly seasoned and top quality, (kudos to the kitchen staff). Followed by ice cream,strawberry and hazelnut. Drinks. Two small glasses of wine, shared bottle of pellegrino. Total cost including 5% service charge £74.50.

Would give this place 0 , I ordered fillet steak, which definitely wasn’t fillet steak, my friend had prawns and got food poisoning really bad , please stay away from this so called Italian restaurant, which definitely is not , please give a miss if you are looking for good food as this is definitely not the place

Went for a meal to celebrate a friend's birthday. Food was lovely. Portion sizes are very good. Cocktails are ridiculously tasty! Brilliant evening.

Today is Valentine's Day and we had lunch at Lavo's in Scunthorpe. This is our first visit here and it certainly won't be our last. I walked through the door and stood with amazement. It's stunning and Classy. We were met by a lady who took us to our table. We ordered our drinks and garlic and tomatoe bread to start with. 😋 that did not disappoint. The Best garlic bread in ages. Taste buds are happy. Our main meal was chicken with spinach and pesto and Chicken with peppercorn sauce. Both dishes came with a side of vegetables and Italian potatoes. I didn't want this meal to end. It was delicious and no room for desserts as the meal was plentiful. Finishing with a Cappuccino with a touch of chocolate on the top spelling LAVO. The lady who served us couldn't have been more attentative. Thank you for making today so special.

Fabulous food in very nice surroundings. Every course was fantastic. The staff just need to look like they enjoy their jobs a bit more to make the experience a little more welcoming.

First time I've been here had never heard of it until I won a competition on the radio and won a voucher for here, so glad I did and we will be back. Nice looking place, staff was very friendly , very attentive and gave great service. The food was delicious best Italian I've had in and around the area . One of my children ate from the children's menu the portions were very generous I would of struggled to eat it all but the kids loved it that much they want to come back at the weekend. My mum loves italy and anything italian so i will certainly be back to bring my mum along.

A fleeting visit, I did not stay long, popped in for a cocktail. I sat at the bar and ordered an espresso martini. It was not very good, though I could not work out why. I had no problem with how made they used quality vodka not cheap rubbish as found in bars. Maybe the vodka (not a vodka familiar with), maybe the coffee. The staff pleasant and helpful. Pleasant ambience. In the unlikely event I visit Scunthorpe again (first visit), and if I have the time, maybe a return visit and try the food.

Great time great food but when using my blue light card was told it would be only used for myself not my son and his wife. I was paying for them. But could only use it on my meal? My other family used theirs for their family??

Cheese kept sliding off my pizza

We’ve been a few times now and it’s just incredible food. Consistently good service and the meals never disappoint, I’ve tried something new every time I’ve been and each time it’s just as good as the last! I’ve only put 4* for the atmosphere as the tables sometimes are very close together however, I haven’t ever been when they have event on but judging by the socials it looks great!

Had a great night from start to finish, we came on 30/12/23 and the staff was amazing there was 20 of us and couldn't fault anything.

I found the pre-ordering quite stressful as I was originally sent the wrong link and a lot of the food people wanted wasn't on the pre-order link, however the service on the evening was faultless and everyone got the meal they had asked for, even though we had a lot of special requests, which they accommodated for including my gluten free dish. The food was absolutely delicious and all the staff were friendly. My niece said it was the best fish she had ever eaten, my cousin was telling me how amazing the cocktails were and my dad couldn't get enough of the potatoes. It was the perfect venue for my dad's 70th. Thank you for making it a very special evening for us ❤️ looking forward to coming back

This is my second visit to Lavos in the space of two weeks and on both occasions I have had a great meal. The first visit was a table of 11 where we received great food & great service in a full restaurant. The second visit was a family meal with two children and once again it didn't disappoint. The food was very good as was the service again and once again the place was very busy. The children's pizza's was too big for them to finish so they duly boxed them up and let them take them all, my pasta dish was great as was the wife's beef stroganoff. Other meals had were the Lasagne and the Carbonara which both came up to scratch. Well done to all the staff at this lovely restaurant, we will certainly be returning 😀

Visiting family in scunthorpe and we were fortunate to find Lavo. Everything was lovely and we couldn't have been happier. Went up and thanked the chef and her crew. When we come to visit again we will definitely be back, cheers!

Looking forward to some pre theatre food we booked and arrived at 5:30. There were only 4 other covers in. We informed the waiting staff that we were heading for the theatre and ordered a main course and salad. Whilst waiting for our food we noticed a strong smell of room freshener behind us. We moved the reed diffuser and became aware of a more pungent smell of drains. The staff changed our table at once when we asked. We then ordered two glasses of wine. We were halfway through our main course when the wine arrived. The 2 pasta and 2 rissoto dishes were lovely. We ordered dessert: cheesecake crème brûlée Tiramisu and cheeseboard it was 6:55 by the time they arrived and we’d had to prompt the waiting staff. Cheeseboard was great, Tiramisu ok but crème brûlée had what looked like raspberry jam on it ( definitely not compote) and cheesecake though large was warm ( defrosted in microwave???) we had to rush them to pay and be out by 7:15 to go round the corner to the theatre. It was a disappointing visit. We mentioned our concerns to staff as we paid and didn’t pay the service charge Despite not being busy, service was terribly slow Mains were great but desserts poor.

Simply AMAZING! The food, drinks and service! You'd expect this kind of service & atmosphere in a city never mind Scunthorpe, so nice to have such standards on our doorsteps. Thanks again for a lovely evening. We can't wait for our next visit!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Having been to Lavo many times since it first opened , I really do enjoy their food !! From the authentic Italian pasta dishes, the Pollo Alla Lavo ( my favourite) to the varying seafood dishes. Great wines , very friendly staff who provide excellent service makes each evening very enjoyable. The best local Italian !!

We’ve visited Lavo many times now and we absolutely love it! We visited last week and started off with lavo-lini cocktails (my fave) and then a bottle of wine for the table. The staff are so friendly and helpful and there is always a really nice vibe. The food is STUNNING! We ordered a garlic bread with chilli for starters and penne positano and a beef stroganoff for mains, which were both delicious. Would definitely recommend Lavo if you’re looking for authentic Italian food and if you’re a cocktail lover :) can’t wait to visit again! X

Large group booking, food was amazing nothing was an issue for the staff and all food came together and nothing wrong. Drinks were all quickly served. Staff helped with having the table ready for our arrival. We even had a mini party in the bar area as we were last to leave. Fabulous evening and we will be back.

Beautifully decorated and very modern restaurant. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the food was truly delicious. This restaurant fat exceeded my expectations and I will definitely be going again.

Family came from Doncaster to go to Lavo.. on website said open from 11:00 - 22:00, got there at 7:35 pm to be told they aren’t serving last sitting was 6:45 pm even though on the website it says it was open until 22:00. They need to amend their website to say that food that is served between certain times! Not happy I brought family over from Doncaster to be turned away!

On our recent visit to Lavo for my birthday, the food was excellent, every one of us loved what we chose. The drinks were delicious, and it was really nice to try new/ different cocktails. Additionally, the staff we engaged with were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. My sister-in-law is Vegan & Gluten intolerant, and our server was helpful in finding alternatives for her to eat using ingredients off the menu. She had a delicious meal & did not feel left out despite her requirements, which is not always easy in Scunthorpe. We had a thoroughly delightful experience for the most part, however there is some less positive feedback regarding the disabled facilities. The disabled toilet is being used as a storage area. I have a walking stick, so did manage to get around the large kitchen equipment & chairs blocking the entrance. Had a I been in a wheelchair I would not have been able to access the toilet at all 😞. Where the restaurant is beautifully designed & has a nice ambience, and my friends tell me the upstairs toilets are pleasant & well maintained, the same cannot be said about the disabled toilet which is dark, dingy, poorly maintained & doesn't even have a mirror. It was very disappointing and did not fit with the remainder of the restaurant or our experience. Overall I would recommend Lavo, but if you are disabled consider whether accessibility is going to be a problem.

We received a warm welcome and shown to our table straight away, the atmosphere was excellent, although I found the lighting a little on the dark side, it still didn't take away the friendly atmosphere. I had the fish platter which was cooked to perfection with lots of flavours coming through, my taste buds were dancing. My partner had a fish dish which was also delicious. The staff were friendly and polite. If you want somewhere special to dine out and feel relaxed, Lavos is certainly the place to go. It's a little gem... the earlier review I gave was given from a night that Lavos were probably short staffed, these things happen but we are so glad we revisted, otherwise we would of missed out on a very special place... We will definitely be revisting.

Usually great but avoid Sunday's when "second team" is on duty. The lady chef can't cook. She has given me two inedible meals. If she is on duty, walk away. Danni and the girls do incredible cocktails but on Sunday's there is a young man whose margaritas are " watery". Avoid Sunday's.

Lovely ambience, food, staff but absolutely incredible cocktails. Very professional yet super friendly. My favourite haunt in Scunthorpe. No hesitation in recommending this place. Avoid Sunday's. Normally, excellent food and brilliant cocktails. But they have the "second division" on duty on Sunday's. Should have walked out the moment I saw the lady chef. That is the second inedible meal she has served. First blew the roof of my mouth off as she had used masses of Chilli. Today, the stroganoff was sour. Clams & mussels pasty. Still charged full wack even though didn't eat meal. Bar man's Marguerita was " watery". When it is good, it is very very good; but when it is bad, it is horrible. Thank God for pub food!

We celebrated our son's 21st and the staff couldn't do enough. Massive shout out to cat who made it extra special. Recommended

As someone who is forced to often get vegan food because I am lactose intolerant and the menu isn't clear may I just say that the menu was brilliant for allergies. Also the food was amazing, probably won't get the chips again because the pasta and garlic bread were alot but everything was incredible.

Avoid!!!!! lasagna & mozzarella pizza Lasagna came in a burnt bowl looked like charcoal / dog food, absolutely vile and boring! Mozzarella pizza looked like it had just been for a swim before it arrived. Dropping water vile to eat. Place is nicely decorated but food is absolutely 0/10 and told everyone to avoid

I’ve been to LAVO several times in the form of a la carte dinner, and with that I have NO complaints. The food was beautiful and the ambiance was lovely. However, yesterday we attended a bottomless brunch, and I could not have been more disappointed. It seemed there were 5-6 groups in for brunch and there was only me and my friend in our group. However, the fact we were waiting ten minutes at a time for our drinks to be filled was ridiculous. In an hour and a half we received four drinks- and for a bottomless brunch that is extremely disappointing. As for the food, I ordered a pepperoni pizza which was bland, but did the job. However, my friend ordered garlic bread with pesto and this arrived so oily that it was puddled within the garlic bread, and drowned in pesto. My friend didn’t eat much of hers. If you’re going, go for a la carte, they seem to care a little bit more. We were pretty much left. They even had the cheek to automatically add a service charge, which I asked to be taken off right away. If you are going to offer a bottomless brunch; the idea is that the glasses are never empty. Disappointing, and ended up going to Wetherspoons afterwards where we were given better food and at least got drinks in a timely manner.

We have eaten in LAVO restaurant frequently and the food has always been to the highest of standards. The menu has a great selection of choices. We ordered pizzas with a side of chips and it didn’t not disappoint. Every one of us enjoyed our meal. Delivery was on time and will definitely be ordering again 😊

I booked a table for 7.30, it was a birthday meal, we turned up at 7.25 to be told our table wasn't ready as yet so we purchased a drink and sat and waited.... no one came to apologise for the wait we were just sat waiting, half an hour later we were still waiting for at least someone to come and inform us of what was happening. In the end we decided to just go eat somewhere else... definitely would not be returning

Food was fantastic, service was top quality. We went during lunch time so not very busy but had some good background music.

We had a great meal out with friends. I had the tagliatelle ragu and this was great very taste. Followed by the cheesecake of the week which was white chocolate and strawberry this was very indulgent.

First time visit for and 18th birthday . A party of 8 . Fantastic food and good portions, lovely service very friendly. A great atmosphere. It was a lovely evening . Beware... large groups have to order their food before visiting via an app a few days before your reservation is due . Not good when never visited before and portion sizes not known, and not sure what the dishes are !

Had such a lovely experience at Lavo! The service was great, the drinks were amazing and the food was next level. The only Italian restaurant I’ve tried in the UK that transports you to Italy! Will 100% be recommending to anyone who will listen. Can’t wait for my next visit!
