Koko Leaf in North Lincolnshire

Amazing food once again. Definitely one to try and then keep trying.

Been to Koko Leaf twice now, absolutely fantasic food and and great friendly staff that can't do enough for you.

very nice and fancy for epworth. nice staff especially the young women that served us, very polite and respectful. served our drinks in minutes!!! very happy with the service, give her a pay rise !!!!

Food was lovely, there was plenty of it and it was tasty. I had the chicken with chorizo and prawns, there was no scrimping on any of the ingredients and it had a little kick of heat which as someone that isn't a fan of heat was just right. Young wait staff get 5 star just for effort and friendliness.

Food was lovely, there was plenty of it and it was tasty. For starters I had the mushrooms and the OH had meatballs. Both were lovely and there was a delicious bread brought out with them. For main I had the chicken with chorizo and prawns, there was no scrimping on any of the ingredients and it had a little kick of heat which as someone that isn't a fan of heat was just right. He had a pork dish which to our tastes was a bit under cooked, we were warned that it might be fatty but didn't find that. With the portion size I couldn't fit desert but was told the timarusu was delicious. As non drinkers the waiter recognised this and advised the dessert was normally served with a shot of amaretto. I thought it was good of him to recognise we weren't drinking and ask rather than assume one way or another. Young wait staff get 5 star just for effort and friendliness. This isn't a 5* restaurant or service but if you are looking for good food in a relaxed environment where you aren't feeling rushed then this is a place to check out if you are in the area.

Thursday night bottomless pizza and prosecco night is definitely worth the money you pay! Really enjoyed my food and the service was impeccable 😊

Unfortunately, we did not have not the best experience, despite the other good reviews which lead us to book here. Firstly, ordering a drink in the downstairs bar, the bar staff couldn't work out the measures for the cocktails that we ordered, and when poured, they looked short. They were reshaken three times, and when this still didn't work, we overheard one staff member whispering to the other to just "top the glass up with ice" to make it look more full. This was eventually resolved by another staff member (possibly the supervisor/manager?), and they did apologise and try to explain that the usual glassware wasn't available so they looked short in bigger glasses. When we moved up to the restaurant, there was a considerable delay (over 15 minutes) before a waiter came to take our order. We weren't given given any information about the specials at first (unlike some other nearby tables), but the waiting staff did provide this when we asked, and were helpful in answering our questions. There was also quite a long wait after ordering (it was over an hour between sitting down and the food arriving), and while an apology was offered for this it came quite belatedly (a few minutes before serving). During this time, staff were not on hand to offer drinks and after waiting for some time for someone to be present, we had to get up to find someone to ask for water. The situation isn't helped by the layout of the restaurant, as the 'bar' area is obscured from the majority of the seating; the staff are fairly regularly entering the back room to deliver food and drinks but didn't seem to have much awareness of diners, other than the table they were currently serving. Notwithstanding this, staff were polite and helpful when we did speak to them, it's just a shame they weren't around more often. We ordered a special - lobster linguine, which came artistically presented, with half of the lobster whole placed atop a bed of pasta, with the other half was in sections. Unfortunately, this proved to be very difficult to eat, as the serving style resulted in small pieces of shell mixed into the pasta. The lobster itself was rubbery and tasted somewhat overcooked and the pasta sauce was mediocre. While a seafood pick and cracker were provided, a side plate or other container to separate the discarded shell would've been appreciated. The dish was priced fairly (considering the ingredients price of a full lobster), but with this lack of delivery, it didn't translate into feeling good value for money. The other dish ordered, beef stroganoff, was enjoyable, with a rich sauce and a good serving of meat. They were happy to accommodate this being served with a pasta rather than the usual rice accompaniment which was appreciated. This dish also seemed fairly priced. In all, the food was mixed, but our experience was let down by the delays and inattentiveness of the staff. We wouldn't particularly recommend based on our experience, but others seem to rate it and there are limited options in the area.

Great night in the Koko Leaf, the food was fab the staff very helpful and attentive and we loved the Gary Barlow night. Thank you for providing a much needed place to go in Epworth with live music and a great atmosphere.

Really good Saturday night, good beer and fab pizza.

Love this restaurant mainly because of the lovely people who work there. They are always so helpful and friendly. The decor of the place is wonderful, the food is very good and a reasonable price. I've visited several times, and it's definitely my favourite place to eat in Epworth now. Something to note. I take my elderly mum there for a meal and she can't climb stairs and the restaurant and toilets are upstairs! However, the staff are happy for us to eat in the bar downstairs, and the service is prompt, so this has not been an issue.

Great little village cocktail bar and Italian restaurant. The service and hospitality is excellent, prices are reasonable for the area and the quality and service. We have visited just for drinks and also for special evening events with a tribute singer and 3 course meal. The food has always been tasty and well presented, certainly fresh and generous

A total shambles. Went with a large party for a pre-booked meal for Tapas night. The table would have seated half of us comfortably. After taking ages to find another table to join on, we were all still squashed like sardines. The service was truly atrocious. The young waitress was rude and the young waiter was clueless. When the food finally arrived, some it was missing, some of it was cold, and the portions were tiny. Three tiny meatballs in a dollop of sauce was just one of them. We had to stand up, wave our arms around and scream to attract any attention. Most of us had nothing to drink for most of the night, but little chance of anyone taking an order, apart from when the owner and usual experienced waiter came over. Eventually we got to order puddings. Again some were missing, and the strawberry pancakes were cold and rubbery with just one strawberry chopped up on top. We were given knives and forks to eat pudding with ice cream, which might have been funny if we had had a good experience. A lot of us went home hungry. We have been here before and had a much better night. The staff obviously spend more time behind the bar serving beer and cocktails- perhaps they should just stick to that. Never again.

Honestly the worst food we’ve ever been out for. We was really looking forward to trying this restaurant but the food served as disgusting, this coupled with rude staff who attempt to convince you you’re wrong made for a very bad experience. Would not recommend.

Went on steak nite and was absolutely spot on with a really good starter and main. Staff was really helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend to a friend

Amazing food n cocktails, superb customer service

Excellent menue staff and food.

Came here for a midweek meal and nearly all of the meal was poor, the only reason it doesn't get a 1 star is because the service was good and the garlic bread was nice. Both main meals were not fresh, we clearly microwaved as they were piping hot and no better than pub microwave meals. and when your charging £20+ for a main its nowhere near good enough. and the atmosphere in there is horrible, got sat next to a group of lads shouting and swearing when your trying to have a nice meal. it just screams pretense.

My other half and I adore this restaurant and make an effort to come at least once a month. The food is some of the best we've eaten, the restaurant is beautiful and has a great atmosphere, and the staff are always helpful and friendly. Portion sizes are nice, not small, but not so big that they're too much. The drinks are also always a hit. We both agree that we won't stop coming here for a long time yet. Could not recommend more. Undoubtedly one of the greatest places to eat in the area.

Second visit in the past 6 months. We were able to get the pizza/pasta and unlimited prosecco meal deal and all of our party were happy customers. The staff were not dallying with bringing prosecco top ups so we were all able to calm down and carry on drinking prosecco. Good food, can recommend the pizzas, just remember to bring your appetite x..

Had a fantastic meal out Sunday 20th feb 2022. There was a party of four of us and the restaurant was quite. Absolute beautiful meal I haven’t been able to taste garlic since having covid and wow my taste buds finally came alive. The staff are so very kind and attentive. It’s such a stunning restaurant and very warm. But the food wow wow wow I would definitely recommend the koko leaf we came all the way from south cave near Hull and it was so worth it.

Great food great service great atmosphere!

Had a couple of lovely meals here. The food is tasty, service is top notch and the decor is stunning. The only thing that has disappointed is the atmosphere. This might have been down to pure bad luck but on both occasions we have been seated next to a large table of people swearing and shouting. The staff are reluctant to say anything to these people but you can clearly see everyone else in the restaurant is annoyed.

I have never left a review about any restaurant but I had to for Koko Leaf.Arrived and approached in a lovely manner,were welcomed by the staff at the resturant gently,waiters came to take our drinks and food order,seemed very skilled and knowledgeable.Congratulations to the chef food was presentable,delicious and absolutely top class,I am a passionate of Italian cuisine and that spaghetti carbonara was magnificent,probably the best I have ever had. Young waiter was very kind,always checked on other customers tables too and was very attentive with every table,apologised for the food being late.Other waiter with dreadlocks,seemed very nice,he was very amusing and joked about with us for a bit after we finished our food.The lady waiter was very gentle with us too,she took our food order and she seemed very skilled,when she gave the bill she asked if everything was good and we love caring staff.The place was lovely and a great job with the decorations,it looked very classic and it gave us a taste of Italy.I would reccomend this place to anyone who passes by or needs a suggestion on a good place to eat in Epworth,really glad I came in and I will definitely come in the future.

Onion soup is my favourite, this attempt was awful, no beef flavour, no wine flavour, no butter, no caramelised onions, no toast with gruyer cheese. Boiled onions with soggy bread and cheddar cheese, very simple dish destroyed. Please take it off your menu it's embarrassing. Main I had spaghetti bolognaise, yes I know most people don't order it as you can cook it at home, however, I just fancied it. I asked the waiter to make sure the spaghetti wasn't overcooked, it came out overcooked and sloppy, they had even chopped it up into little bits the same as I do for my1 year old daughter.

Decor was nice. Food was what you would expect. What ruined it for me was our servers attitude. Young lad, shuffling around looking like he’d rather be anywhere else than at work. I asked for the bill and he actually rolled his eyes. A shame because I can see a lot has gone into making this a nice place to eat with interesting decor but this server made us feel like we were an inconvenience and bordered on rude. To be clear the other staff we encountered were very nice and polite.

Had a wonderful night at the Koko Leaf with 8 friends. The food was delicious it’s the best Lasagne ever and the starters and sweets were excellent. The staff were smart, friendly and attentive and the restaurant was lovely and warm. Well done.

At last managed to be in the area when this place is open. So with a group of friends we visited for the first time. We were seated in the upstairs area. Very nicely decorated and tables spaced out. Plenty of room. We had a garlic bread with rosemary and sea salt to share that was recommended. Really nice. Had a mixture of starters followed with a collection of pasta dishes. We all enjoyed. Very tasty, serving size ample. Coffee to finish. Wish we could have managed a dessert. Staff very attentive and welcoming, smiles all round. We will be returning.

Went in a group of eleven on a saturday night, service was okay food was mediocer. Nice establishment and well looked after premises. Large range of drinks available including cocktails. Bit expensive for what it is.

What a treat right on the doorstep! A taste of Italy that’s left us wanting more! A three way to start with Calamari, Polpette and Bruschetta all warming us up nicely for the main event. Three beautiful starters that wouldn’t have been out of place on the Amalfi Coast!! Onto the mains, and where do we start, the Calzone was colossal, fit to feed a Roman Empire, and tasty too! The lasagne, as good as it gets, a classic done well, what more can you ask for! It’s not a trip to an Italian restaurant without a pizza, the “Daviola” was a beautiful thin crust laden with delicious salami and a plentiful hand of spicy green chillis. We knew about the chillis towards the end, but that hint of spice was a welcome addition. All this was accompanied with halloumi fries, side salad and a cheesy garlic bread for the ages. Washed down with pints of Moretti, the little green man watching over us enjoy our Italian feast was so comforting. Great meal, great staff, great times! Koko is most certainly a go go!!

Last night we went to the Koko Leaf in Epworth with a group of friends. We chose calamari with garlic mayo, and anti pasta boards to start. Main course were fettuccine mare monte, and risotto frutti de mare, served with garlic bread. Desserts were tiramisu with a shot of amaretto served separately, and raspberry panna cotta. We had a great evening, the food was delicious and the service was impeccable - many thanks to all the hard working staff!

Went in here for pre dinner birthday drinks. Relaxing place with good music on , cocktails were good at reasonable price, and had my favourite beer Cruz campo on tap mmm , nice staff as well.

Visited Koko Keaf last night after it was recommended. We arrived and were shown to our table by server 1, after 15-20 minutes server 2 arrived to take our meal order, we told him we hadn't even ordered drinks yet, he waited and took both orders. Server 3 arrived to take our drinks order, we explained we had ordered. Server 4 arrived with our drinks, mine was returned as wrong drink arrived. Server 2 returned with our drinks, again mine was wrong and returned. Server 5 arrived with our starters, still no drink for me. Server 2 returns with my correct drink. Mains arrived with server 3, while server 5 caused a commotion on the next table spilling a plate of chips down a poor customers back. Mains were OK at the best. Coffee was ordered which took forever due to running out of cream. The bill was asked for, this arrived after 10-15 minutes, it was wrong, they had charged for every wrong drink returned. Server 2 was called and he amended the bill, wrong... I explained how the drinks and food bills did not amount to the total bill, he look bemused, I said forget it I'll just pay it, by this time the experience was ruined and we left. Overall the decor is lovely, staff polite, food mediocre, prices slightly over. Will we return? Not a chance.

We went for a meal with our daughter. Nothing was too much trouble. Portion sizes were made smaller for her and the mocktails were beautiful. The food was amazing and the staff were so attentive. We will definitely be returning!

Excellent food and hosts definitely recommend

Visited with my husband, brother and sister in-law. Lovely restaurant with very friendly staff, waiter we had was superb. Staters included Bruschetta, garlic mushroom and Mozzarella salad, all delicious. Mains fillet steak, pastas and mixed grill, again beautifully presented and delicious, tiramasu excellent. Cocktails delicious...recommend...

Lovely, attentive service. The cocktails are so good...the pina colada was the best I’ve had in ages! The food was delicious too. The garlic butter with the dough balls was delicious and the risotto was creamy and full of flavour. Fully recommend a visit here...

Well, just visited Koko Leaf for the first time. Absolutely loved it. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Welcome amazing, staff amazing, food absolutey beautiful. Fabulous evening with friends. Couldn't have been better. So well done all! What a gem to have in Epworth. See...

I was a little disappointed with my visit to Koko leaf. The setting was nice and good atmosphere. The staff were very attentive but the menu was all in Italian so we had to ask for an explanation of every meal. I would suggest having a printed menu with explanations underneath. Also for my main I had a chicken dish and it came on it’s own initially then they brought an dish with 3 slices of courgette and 3 slices of aubergine. I had to get takeaway on the way home. There was no sides on the menu presented and the waiter did no mention it came on it’s own. I would have though they may suggest you order something else to go with it. The food was good but expecting people to be full with a chicken breast and sauce is ridiculous. My tip would be go for the pasta as at least you get a dish full.
