It’s a large Asda with a range of vegan options and it even has a refill section for cereal, grains, coffee, dog and cat food and sweets. There is also a home section and clothing (George). I find Asda too expensive for most things but I make a point of getting cereal from the refill section which is great to see

Just visited cafe and had National celebration Fish N Chips day for £3.22. Excellent value V large battered fish and chips with peas. Offer on until 6th June. See photos.

Today there was more pet food than human food. Many of the vegetable and fruit boxes were empty and covered and believe it or not there were no carrots at all. Rubbish today I'm afraid.

Horrible breakfasts, food is under cooked and cold. Left feeling ill after hardly touching our food. Knowing that undercooked food is unsafe to serve this needs looking at asap before someone else gets food poisoning.

Absolutely disgusting. Did a shopping order for delivery and noticed that when delivered I had been charged for a product costing £1.50 however the product was not delivered. I proceeded to make a refund request and logged it as a missing product. The next day I receive an email saying that they have rejected my refund request. How dare they reject it. So they are happy for me to purchase a product and not receive it. If this is what Asda have resulted too then Iam totally disgusted with them. Yeah ok it’s a £1.50 product but it’s not the point. Iam taking this further as they could be doing this to hundreds of other customers and the top and bottom of this is Asda are stealing from me, theft of £1.50

I don't know if the orders for aldwark come from there But for the second time since December I don't receive my order and in the app it was given as delivered If possible, give me an address where I can go to try to solve the problem Thank you very much

Shabby place generally but it has a pharmacy. Pharmacist is on lunch from 1:30 to 2:30 but it turns out they won't take any prescriptions from 1pm. Really poor

Kiosk does not open until 8am! Very embarrasing when you get eyes rolled at you and when i say "good morning love how are you?" I just get a death stare back as she's had to walk 20 steps from the self service. People like you will put yourself out of a job when these shops go completely self service. All other staff seem very pleasant. Shops always very clean, plenty of choice, full shelves. Lots of choice on the fresh bakery section. 🙂

Visited opticians unit inside Asda. Staff exceptionally helpful with choosing style of glasses, sunglasses,whether reactolite glasses were needed etc. Prices of products very very reasonable. I was quoted £120 for 1 pair of varifocal and 1 pair of varifocal sunglasses. My last pair of varifocal glasses at a leading retailer in beverley cost £250 in 2020!!My wife had a quote for her glasses where we had our eye test in the centre of York and was quoted £600 !!!Asda price was £279!!!!.Won't ever use opticians again to get glasses, will always use Asda. Feel like some opticians and glasses specialists are ripping us off with their prices. Believe me the Asda glasses are just as good a quality as the other retailers.

Visited to get a pizza, omg the women on the pizza desk is a bit of a drongo, she just looked at me like I was from outerspace, twice I have visited and got the same reaction.

In a place where you can spend over 3 hours shopping in Asda (especially re cafe and pharmacy visit on tip of a big Christmas shop), it's cruel to set the maximum time for parking at 3 hours and then charge a fine of £70 when someone exceeds that time by 13 mins.

It's got really sloppy and messy inside. There are a lot of things placed in the wrong place on shelves, there was 1 person on checkouts (and it was very busy) and there was a lot of stuff just missing from shelves. It's got really expensive at Asda too, and it used to be cheaper than the other major retailers. The reward card system is designed too complex to be able to use.

My last few visits here have not been good the shelves are empty well full of empty boxes which means after going round the store I then need to go to another store to get everything I need. When I asked the staff they just said it is because we were busy the day before could things not have been replenished overnight or first thing ??

Very disappointed,was going to have lamb tonight, bought it Saturday and by the following day it had gone rotten.

i’m getting fed up of items being constantly out of stock every week at Asda monks cross, over the past few weeks 3 times there has been no specific asda own toilet roll, last week there was like only 5, 4 pints of milk bottles, the on the go sandwich counter are always out of date on that day the day or the day after/ certain no sandwiches, the best one yet has been 4 weeks since i’ve seen asdas own chicken kiev, and 3 weeks now since i last saw instock & purchased one of the flavours of your take-out by asda range pizzas, the gastro dine in either/ or there is no stock of starter or dessert.. its just getting daft in this store, you really need to sort your stock out… and one of your christmas choc orange bomb cakes the other day was out of date cause there was number 27 printed over the top of the actual date which was the 19th which was the day i purchased it…

This has to be the worst asda in the country Click and collect is absolutely pointless you go to collection and 11 items are out of stock which means you still have to go in store and when you do most items are on the shelf Then to add to the inconvenience you've been charged 45 pounds for the items missing and have to wait for the amount to be refunded in 3 -5 working days Do you realise there is a cost of living crisis and not everyone has that money in the meantime to shop in store I have shopped with Asda all my life but the service is going down hill rapidly. This store has serious issues !!!!!!!! We live quite rural and do a big monthly shop but the services from Asda have been deplorable it certainly isn't a one off

I used to love shopping at Asda but not any more. On my recent visits there have been so many things out of stock. Lots of empty shelves or shelves full of empty boxes. The choice of vegetables is now also very poor. I can't rely on getting what I need.

Siesta good value and great range of produce

Entire sections of fruit and veg empty. Elsewhere, shelves full of empty cardboard boxes. In the evening not even a single till open for people with large trollies of groceries. Expected to self checkout at awkward, too small units. At other times tills queued 4 trollies deep with only 4 of 9 tills staffed.

If I could give zero, I would. The bakery staff left early and failed to put a sign on the picture cake machine. This resulted in my Dad and younger sister WASTING their time completing the process to be told, you’ll have to wait until tomorrow. Surely the idea of a birthDAY cake is to have it on your birthday! We were told no one knew how to access the machine to delete the photo so that is of concern because we have no control over what happens to the image. The store claim that they are trading 24/7 and, expecting a cake at 8pm in the evening isn’t unreasonable when that expectation has been set. It’s hardly unreasonable hours!! This could have been avoided has the bakery staff added a sign before doing a runner. Just altogether shameful and has left me feeling something, but not the ASDA price feeling, that’s for sure!

Staff were friendly, plenty of choice and prices good too.

The bugle fanfare sounded as I made my way into the store. It was absolutely heaving, and it couldn’t be said that they hadn’t put in the effort, streamers, bunting, sword swallowing, the works. I took my seat in the ceremonial gold trolley and screamed at Janet to get pushing as Billy Joel began to sing over the tannoy. We set off down the centre aisle kissing babies and shaking hands en route. We reached Ronnie at the bakery aisle where I dismounted my ride and was presented with a certificate that read “Most fun guy award for visiting Asda 13 days on the trot” and a £25 voucher for George. I couldn’t wait to see how they’d top it for tomorrow’s visit.

Congratulations to asda in Boston Lincs the staff seem to have all had botox because none of them ever smile, its like they work there by force, they all seem to hate their job and constantly bitch about each other! Even when the queue is long, they stand there talking ir batching to each other. Everything seems an effort for them. Some of your food is reasonably priced but should not show and reflect in the staff you hore. Where is the management regional manager, why has no one picked up on this. They needs to be more training as the standards are very low.

Just to thank ‘John’ on behalf of my Mother. Last month, she was struggling with a heavy bag of garden pebbles/stones. He was kind enough to help her carry them to her car, and to put a slit on the bag so she had an easier time of it when unloading at home. Thanks John!!

Previously marvelous but no longer opens 24 hours. Ridiculous

Would put zero stars if possible. Chose a collection slot between 5 and 6. Arrived at 5.55 and still waiting. Time now is 7.00. Also no updates or anything from email. Been trying to ring the store for last 45 minutes tried various department and no answer what so ever. Definitely won't be using this service again

Great value for money for our holiday accommodation. We use the delivery service and can always get a slot and is always on time, staff are happy and pleasant. We use a lot of cleaning products, utensils and toiletries to make sure our guest has a great stay with us.

Don't enjoy going shopping at the best of times. I hate it even more when I've got to checkout my own stuff, and especially at a machine that kept telling me to check the bagging area. ASDA is an absolute A hole of a place, you pride yourselves on having one of the cheapest weekly shops, but I'd rather pay that little bit extra and actually have someone serve me. I'll not be going back again.

This so called super store is a joke we have been here 5 times and each time the stock is never replenished half the items are not price labeled when you go to the freezer section its always more or less empty they seem to only ever have 3 tills used so the ques are massive in my honest Harrogate store is so much easier and so much more stock choice with labels

No door on the baby changing so any body can walk past and watch you changing your baby. Disgraceful

Customer service is non existent here, Even head office have told me that contacting this store by phone is impossible, it just goes round in circles and cuts you off. Very poor lots more stores to choose from shop somewhere else that is what i will be doing.

Extremely rude man on front door during night! He is literally screaming at all customer just „mask!!” Hes tone of voice and attitude are very agresive. In the end another couple was waiting for him almost 10 minutes on self check out.

Good prices, with plenty of range (as you'd expect for a supermarket). Nice refill zone on the back wall of the store too.

The spupermarket is good but the service attitude of the staff needs to be improved, especially the old lady at the manual cashier. Her words were racist and she was not willing to listen to the objective statements of the guests. She only took her own views and was very rigid.

Visited on the 14th Oct, ordered a whole pepperoni pizza & chips. Cheesiest greasiest pizza ever. Staff were polite however the quality of food was disgusting! Heard a woman ordering & asked if she would like chips or fries, I didn’t know that was an option so has chunky tasteless chips to accompany the absolute mess of a pizza.

Big store with almost everything you could need, clothes section upstairs is good. I’ve always found this store nice and clean which is a bonus. Overall I really enjoy shopping here.

Why DO they need to pipe in 'music' at such a high volume? It is loud even if you are wearing over-ear headphones. If you like shopping in a noisy aircraft hangar, this is the place for you. But I guess it serves a purpose. At least their 'Scan & Go' app worked first time... so hurrah!!

We get our shopping delivered. The drivers are lovely people and are patient. My problem is the pickers who collect the items we need or want. They don't seem like they can pick anything we want on our list, but the items are right there in store on the shelf when we have to go in. This is getting stupid especially since its everytime we order stuff. I think they need to get better pickers or get them trained up again because it seems like they don't know what food items people need.

Asda,wasn't very busy,there was quite a few people there, wasn't many queues at the checkouts.

I shop here every 2 weeks, all the staff are friendly and very helpful, the store is clean and tidy throughout with plenty of space for distancing.

Large open store with so much to offer. Food, bedding, towels, clothes, baking/cooking equipment. There are clean toilets. When not in lockdown there is a cafe.

Got a £70 fine for doing my Christmas shopping here and therefore staying longer than the 3 hour max which I wasn't aware of. Shocking, will never return.

who is running this shop!!!, must be someone who has there shopping delivered, and lots of time on there hands, because every week iv being now for over the last 2 month, there's never enough tills manned, how can we distance, when we are queuing, and at the same time blocking Isles, and then to go to the lottery/ tobacco counter, to find one member of staff has being told to run it all on there own, while there Co worker has being taken off, to man the tills, therefore creating another queue at the lottery/tobacco counter, all in all I was queuing 25 minutes, this is pathetic management, and also, the next member of staff, that bumps and pushes past me, in order to get there work done (probably because they have to much to do) il be taking names and reporting this to head office. If your a manager reading this at asda York, "get into the real world" you are giving your store a bad reputation, THINK ON....

Really rude staff, accused me to swear at colleague just for asking to avoid the "quality products checks" because was in rush to go home on my only day off and they had to scan quite a few products..

It’s a full flag Asda super stores with upper floors for clothings, home center have good choices and supermarket area is well stocked ! We tried the got food from the deli which is good value and tasty! Bought some drinks with good discounts as new year treats. Cashier at checkout is friendly and helpful!!

Asda can make your Christmas very expensive beware if you are thinking of doing all your christmas shopping at Asda York Just received a £70 parking fine for overstaying in the car park and yes we really were spending our money there one large spend upstairs for all our presents , lunch , a second spend downstairs and then a tank full of fuel

What’s the issue with Asda at the moment, my wife and I go every week for our shop, It’s common for the quiet store containing queues at the checkout. Heard a member of staff remarking to another customer, ‘We don’t want to open any more tills at the moment’. It’s typically quiet as we go on a Tuesday or Thursday, in the middle of the day. Surely it makes sense to open more tills, especially when you consider the pandemic at the moment. I find it to be quite irresponsible; people standing nearby, waiting in a queue.

Great Christmas range out. Much better with the new open plan layout in the homeware section. Clothes dept open upstairs. Some really cute Xmas clothes available.

We’re in the middle of a pandemic, I have never felt so un-safe shopping, why do couples and families need to go shopping together? Too many people in store and far too many complacent people no masks, bumping into people and kids running about.

Great place, great staff, great food. We have been doing weekly shopping here for the last few years and they have never let us down

Sorry but the cafe has gone down hill, the coffee is strong and bitter in flavour and I ordered the sausage buttie today, normally has 3 sausages now you only get 2 on same size Breadcake, so most of my buttie was just btead, really! I will not use the cafe again Jo

I went to this store to visit George clothing on the first floor. The selection was dreadful and the quality poor. I could not find any trousers or jeans in my size. And only one pair of shoes in my size. With velcro fastenings. Absolutely dreadful. I left bitterly disappointed. Avoid.

2m distancing stickers still on floor: perfect! Then you get to self scanning checkout (where it's meant to be contact free) where I watched a staff member stand 1 foot away from a shopper and then the lady serving me then rescanned all my shopping and didn't wear a mask or try to distance.

I like this store because there are wide isles and reasonable prices. Lower stock range than Tesco but this not always a bad thing.

Absolute mess of a store. The staff are so ignorant and we were told to "move out the way" and " turn back around then"...I was so angered by the staffs attitude I even told her not to speak to me like that as its complete lack of respect. Furthermore, on another experience I've had the red light flashing at self service for at least 5 minutes before staff decided to turn around, atop chatting amongst themselves and actually help me. I shall always use this as a last resort. Common as muck....

Shocked today. The hand gel outside had run out. When I got the front I mention it to man on the door who shrugged and said ‘well there is some there’ as I was wiping my trolley three people just waked in without using gel and again he just shrugged. I had used self scan and had the check come up. The man had carried out a check on the lady next tome and came straight to with no gloves and no hand gel used. When I pointed this out he said they had not been told to. Common sense people. I asked him not to handle the lettuce but he ignored me. I then spoke to a manager who agai shrugged it of and said she didn’t see the point.. hello stupid ! At least use gel between customers. Asda you should be ashamed

5pm Saturday nobody on either the rotisserie or pizza counter so you're screwed if you want any service....all I need is a cooked chicken which I can see but nobody available to serve...just been told I have to wait until Jake has had his break....just wondering why Jake didn't bag up the fresh cooked chickens before he went on his break.... Absolutely useless.

In this aweful time, I have to praise everyone at Asda. They organised the store with absolute precision, allowing the NHS staff to go ahead of the queue as long as they presented their ID. The staff always had a smile on their faces. Well done all!!! Gaynor

I visited the store this morning approximately 7.45, we waited outside in the queue while the shop opened. I want to say thank you to the security man on the entrance he was very friendly and professional and ensured we all got in the shop safely. Once inside the Store we were able to purchase everything we needed & it was a pleasure to walk around the store . At the checkout the lady who served us was warm & friendly . A pleasure to visit your store today at this difficult time . Thank you .

Ordered online spent £70 with a two pound delivery charge it turned in to a £40 order and they charged me three pound because after they took of what they could not deliver it was less than£40 it was not my fault but I got penalize will be shopping elsewhere in future

Most staff very pleasant and helpful at a difficult time apart from slim female staff on bakery who was exceptionally rude and arrogant, she deliberately came and stood in front of us whilst we were deciding which product to buy and butted in on our conversation. She needs to learn some manners and customer service .

Blood testing staff were brill and the whole process only lasted max. 10 mins.

Monks Cross is an ASDA I've not stepped inside for about five years, until going back in Feb 2020. It came as a shock to see it hasn't changed inside in the last five years, or even since about 2008, because my local ASDA, on the outskirts of Reading, although older, has had two substantial refurbishments since it opened (1990 and 2019) and had numerous smaller makeovers in the years inbetween. It seems strange that a Yorkshire firm should ignore a branch in its own backyard, but invest so much in a superstore 200 miles to the south of its powerbase! As a shopping experience Monks Cross is possibly slightly larger than the Earley, Reading one and seems to have broadly the same range of goods. Monks Cross is also a 24-hour ASDA, versus 6am to midnight at Reading. Monks Cross also has a more spacious filling station, complete with carwash. Monks Cross's cafe is the same old place, put in an awkward space at the front of the store. The food, while good value, isn't very good in terms of quality and quantity and the service is of the "Here's your food mate" type. Another culture shock, because the Reading superstores cafe got a major makeover in the 2019 refurbishment, with a significant improvement in the quality and quantity of food on offer.
