Came in here for lunch and I have to admit that the staff are not very inviting. At 1230hrs (lunch time) there were no steak pies ! Why ? They have an attached shop . They don’t make anything at all I asked if the lasagne was fresh and was told it was frozen. A burger was bought. No salad at all just bland and tasteless

Stopped in for breakfast at 10.30am, we stood for a good 5 minutes and weren’t even acknowledged let alone served, 1 person in front of us, 2 members of staff 1 on the till the other walking about aimlessly half a breakfast plated in the counter sat the whole time we where there, it would be cold by the time it actually reached the customer, absolutely appalling customer service

Asda Cafe in Forfar don't have anything when I have been in. No choice of sandwiches. When you go for breakfast, there is always someyhing they don't have. As a supermarket, why can't they go to the shop to get stuff. Expensive also. Staff not very happy looking. Needing to employ staff that have catering experirnce

Very grumpy staff, very small portion sizes indeed. If the staff were nicer and they were not so stingy with the food and if they had enough cutlery to go around, then this place would be okay. If I could give a negative rating, I would probably chose -9. Two words to sum this place up and that would be "STAY CLEAR"!

Very small portions sizes and terrible customer service. Do not visit here as if you do you will regret it.

Don't expect to be satiated if you are very hungry. My portion was tiny. I know it is relatively cheap, but still not good value for money.Also, would be good if the staff could speak at a volume that can be heard, instead of in inaudible muttering.Not impressed.

Manager very rude and portions very little for the prices you pay, 1 sachet of if you buy a meal deal and sachets are little if you want more you are charged

My wife and I have visited the cafe on many occasions , Whether it be for a meal or just a coffee, the quality of the fayre on offer the price is a real bargain. The staff are excellent and very hard workers but in my opinion are needing more help.

I went in for coffee and a sandwich. The cafe was fairly busy which was a good sign. The coffee was very good and the sandwich was ok.

This is a very handy cafe attached to the store, the staff are kind and caring, unfortunately the food they serve up, not cooked on site, is very average. A coffee or lemon and ginger tea is now my choice.

We stopped in for a quick breakfast. It was exactly what we were looking for, quick service, a tasty traditional breakfast served with the minimum of fuss. What more can you expect from a supermarket cafe?!

It's ok if you need a quick lunch and a chat with family and friends food is ok nice steak and ale pie and either snacks or filled rolls

Delicious food,friendly staff except 1 young girl. How ever I feel she's going through a lot so people shouldn't be so judgemental!! We all been there so shut it haters. Service was super quick better than any cafe or restaurant iv ever been to food was hot and will always return.

I used to enjoy going there for my food, but recently there is 1 member of staff who constantly moans under her breath when u ask a simple question, the rest of the team/crew are good...I will return once they get rid of the small girl with attitude problem

This is an okay place for a quick cuppa whilst doing your shopping but we thought we'd have lunch before travelling through to Dundee to save time. Always a good cup of tea but the batter on my fish was uncooked. I probably would have said something if we'd had time to wait but as we were pushed for time, I didn't. A bit disappointing even at £5.

Getting to be an eating out habit here: Quick service -good size portions. Staff always ready to help and advise. The menu is varied and good for an establishment of this kind.

Hadn't been here for quite a while for Sunday breakfast. Wish we hadn't bothered. Format has changed for service. Everything seemed to be dried up, it was quite early in service too, so no excuse for it being later in the morning. Bacon like leather, there is a difference between crispy and cremated, Lorne, square sausage, was dry and of a cardboard texture, eggs were like bullets. The only thing that was freshly made was the toast.,this used to be a really busy place on a Sunday, this particular day it was almost empty. Not surprised. On the plus side the staff were friendly. Won't be back

I did read about good selection of meals and quality food. I don't think there is a good selection of meals. 4 meals to choose from and some choice of Italian sandwiches. Been waiting ages for meals. Chips came dark, cold, soggy and covered in grease. Lasagne ok, daughter's sousage joke, like sitting in a hot place for hours and partner's chicken tikka? Portion was joke as well. Never ever again. Only one plus side, staff was nice.

I meet my daughter for lunch on Sundays here, we always had a good food and great service, pleasant and polite. Great choice of food, they always do there best no matter how busy they are can't fault the staff.

Estaba en la tienda de las 2 de la tarde, no habíamos comido y he pensado probar el gambas, patatas fritas y guisantes en un coste de £5. También había recogido suficientes sellos en mi tarjeta de nuestros cuppas así me ofrecieron mi elección de bebidas. Yo opté por el capuchino y tengo que decir que con el chocolate añadido en la parte superior era muy agradable. La comida era deliciosa, caliente y no tener que esperar demasiado tiempo. Popped in for a quick lunch after shopping.We were the only people in the queue but Stood for 5 minutes while 2 members of staff totally ignored the fact we were waiting to be served.Ordered 2 toasties. Sat and waited 15 minutes before they came despite the fact that there was only one hot order before us, very few people came in after us, and there were now 3 members of staff behind the counter.The girl who brought our order also stood holding it while she had a conversation with another member of staff.Won't be back!

Nice surprise today we had a quite enjoyable lunch here today. In regards to cost i mean. I had lasagne and my husband had scampi fiver each quick and cheerful. Filled a gap. Do not like the new set up though. Noticed it very popular with OAPs a nice place for them to meet and eat cheaply. Place was full. We struggled getting a table.

I have never had anything cooked so can't comment on that but we had a nice cup of coffee before we did our shopping. It would be nice to have some biscuits on offer as we could only see cake type snacks.

Popped in for an after shopping trip cuppa. The place was really busy and there was only one poor guy serving. Have to say, he kept his cool and cooked breakfasts in between making toasted sandwiches, etc., I can only imagine his stress levels inwardly at the ever growing queue of hungry/thirsty people following him steadily with their eyes, willing him to "get a move on". Come on Asda, you can do better than this. At elevenses leading to lunch time, surely you can afford to have at least 2 people serving.

Dropped in for breakfast before doing our shopping. Not only was it slow service but it was cold and had clearly been on a hotplate for a few hours. Vile! Won't be back!!

We arrived at lunch time for a bowl of soup and a Diet Coke but it took them 20 minutes not to serve us. The management of this cafe is a shambles. Unless all you want is a cup of tea, give this place a body swerve.

There is no reason to imagine that such a huge national company should be left to avoid the scrutiny of Trip Advisor. It is high time these supposedly customer friendly conglomerates made good this wee corner of their business model and be shamed, if necessary, into beginning a nationwide purge upon the worst of their consumer comfort offerings. I have been to and reviewed big store customer cafes at Debenham's and elsewhere, finding them more than fit for purpose. If Morrison's and M&S can do it... Why not Asda? I had a 'Meal Deal' of some kind of chicken and spinach panini-type thing with tea and chips. The main was almost inedible, the tea OK, and the chips pretty mediocre. Looking around there was a smattering of fairly miserable diners in this restaurant-set-up one could only describe as utilitarian. The staff, though helpful, looked apprehensive of their fare as they served. It could all be so much better. Not happy bunnies. Nor, as their paying customer, was I.

So sometimes it's nice to have a breakfast out.So when it came lukewarm it really is poor.Asda should be making a killing from the pensioners who would love a bargain and a natter.But no for a start the cafe is in the wrong place hidden at the far end.Come on Asda get your act together.

although the staff are generally friendly the food is left to be desired. There has been a recent revamp in the cafe which has left no room for trays as you collect your food. The food on the menu is rarely available, There's only a small selection to choose from and your lucky if its not overcooked in the microwave. the new service procedure is a disappointment. there has been a drop in food quality.

I've visited this café on numerous occasions and, despite a revamp of the serving area and the menu the food leaves a lot to be desired. The menu is poor: and the quality of the food is poor - the grilled sausages I were practically impossible to cut with a knife! Every time I've visited one of my party has had to make fresh choices due to items being off the menu - basic items such as ham and sausage! Avoid this establishment - there are much better places in the town.

Came in for a spot of lunch with my friend to be faced with a very limited choice of hot food. The options we were faced with were chips that were refries,mashed potato & peas. There was however a slim choice of paninis & 1 wrap. They clearly have a sign stating that every sandwich, wrap or panini you can add chips for 50p so we ordered 2 wraps to be "toasted" & 2 portions of chips. We then made way across the filthy pit of a floor to our table to only then realise that we had been charged full price for our chips, when queried we were met with a very snippy response stating that because the wraps were reduced we might not be entitled to receive out chips at the price stated & that they would have to query with management & in the event of being refunded the money owed it would need to be dealt with at asda customer service desk & they weren't authorised from their till!! I wouldn't mind letting the 80p slip usually however when you're served barely warm let alone toasted wraps & refried "16" chips I draw the line!! At the time of writing this I am still awaiting the decision regarding my query!!! I WOULD NOT recommend...

My husband and I have been here many times when shopping. Sometimes on a Sunday we have been known to pop in for breakfast with Grandkids. Used to be great until they changed the breakfasts. Since the change the choice is really disappointing. There is a very friendly young man there who is great with customers sadly the ladies who work there at the weekend could do with customer service training. This is a shame as most of the Asda staff in Forfar go above and beyond to help you.

This fits the bill if you are in need of a quick cuppa.Service was good, no problem finding a table and you get what you pay for. However, as with all these places, the coffee could be hotter.

It's a café, enough said. Food is cheap and plentiful, staff work well, I had a few issues in the past, but that has all been fixed. The coffee is good, and the chicken portions are man sized. yea! this is alright

Plenty o space and wheelchair friendly. Good Coffee and Tea but falls short on the cake side. Staff has been changed also since two months ago so they're new to me as I always say hya but did not get a response.

Avoid unless you are willing to eat a frozen egg mayo sandwich which nearly cost me a dental bill , service was ridiculas

This place is fine for a quick coffee but it is in the need of a good clean. Doesn't matter what time of day you go in its still dirty. It's cheap and quick service, and the staff are always pleasant enough it's just the cleanliness of the actual cafe that has put us off going back ....come on asda the rest of the supermarket is spotless so why not your cafe???

If you are lucky enough to get in at change over from breakfast to lunch there is a wide range of fresh food available. An hour later there is crusty leftovers that are pretty unappetising.Cheap and cheerful.

Nice wee cafe with free wifi. Even had a decaf coffee which was a bonus. Staff were nice and helpful.

The guy behind the counter battered and cooked fresh fish for my mum. That's awesome in a store cafe. Been back but haven't seen him. Shame cos he was very good behind counter and went that little bit extra for customers and not company/profit minded. Need more people like this

Need more staff to cover sickness and need to put fish and chips on everyday when its busy it would be better to have more than 2 staff members on poor girls were tunning round like headless chicken but after saying that staff are really good and friendly ☺

I am so sorry to be so blunt but this cafe is disgusting...The whole coffee shop is filthy, now if the front of house looks like that i would hate to see the back of house!! the walls behind the counter were horrible needs a steam clean or something !! the coffee machines were so dirty and there were about 8 empty tables and not one of them clean, instead the member of staff (male-tattoos) spent about 10 minutes stocking the juice fridge up, going back and forward grabbing a juice at a time, what a waste of time..his priority should have been cleaning the tables.Thank god we only had a coffee, (cups were dirty)...and plastic tea spoons were weird! Asda sort it out!!

We went in for lunch and were rather disappointed. The macaroni was cold and soggy. The member of staff was harassed and rude. Although clean and tidy - the only decent thing I had was my cuppa and my boys a bottle of Ribena each. No cooking required. It appears that there is not enough staff to make this place run effectively.

Desperate for somewhere to have a late Sunday lunch in the way between Aberdeen and Edinburgh we could only find this cafe. The staff were friendly, but I endorse all the nag stove comments from other reviewers - except the woman with all the make up was not on duty!

What can I say...Asda, how could you have got it sooooooo wrong! Visited this "eaterie" recently with my partner at lunch time on a week day. Sorry we wasted our time and money. Don't get me wrong, the cafe is not expensive. It is however, utterly rubbish. No menu board to let you know what hot/cold food is available, you have to ask. Even then the selection is poor. Tables were filthy, cutlery/napkin area was a mess. This has got to be the worst Asda cafe I've been in. Having had some really terrific breakfast's at Asda cafe's down in Glasgow, I can't understand why all the cafe's are not the same...with same menu choices etc. What's the problem Asda/Wal-Mart??? You're a multi billion dollar company...so why are you short changing your customers like this?Will NEVER use this place again.

asda cafe in forfar, Angus. We visited for a cup of tea, the women who worked there was plastered in make up and it did not look very hygienic or professional. I ordered a chocolate cream cupcake which had been in the fridge for a very long time it was stale and tasteless. The cups were all marked. And we had to ask for more milk as there was none left on the shelf or in the machine the tables and chairs hadnt been wiped and we were left to clean our table and chair before we sat down ourselves, the chair legs were covered in dirty dried marks and food, the surrounding tables also were left messy the tray stands were full. The bin was left open and broken. The floor looked like it had been cleaned with a dirty machine and dirty marks were just rubbed into the floor, The lady who was opening fruit packages didn't wear gloves and was opening packaging with her pen. The two ladies behind the counter were to busy talking about there life to notice to elderly lady's who were waiting to be served and had to asked to be served. I find this appalling, unhygienic service and if a hygeine inspecter was to walk in to asda cafe in forfar, Asda would be in serious trouble. I will never go back here. I would recommend saddlers in forfar for a cup of tea or Morrisons in dundee.

Me was raging i never back again me mum or me gran. My grandad and he say it awful. He said food cold and hard tea awful cafe cold and drafty and there loads off junkies not good for people like me. Wifif rubbish and me rage at prices off tea and coffee.They no let you refil drink or tea me rage at this. To everyone no go it bad real bad!! #rage

MYHusband and I popped in for some lunch,took awhile to get served.They didnt have any bacon left but they offered to 'deep fat fry' it!!!How disgusting!We declined and chose the lorne sausage on a roll.Didnt get a choice of whether we wanted spread on the rolls.they were buttered anyway.I was waiting for the soup,and we noticed someone else's lorne being put in the deep fat frier after it had been under the hot plate!Never seen anything like it!Husband noticed his lorne was stone cold and when he told the assistant she replied 'do you want anything else'/No apology or anything,totally dissinterested!We left,and will not be returning.And even if we had stayed the restaurant was in darkness,there were no lights on!

Great place to find a reasonably priced coffee or a snack, staff were fantastic - bright and obviously enjoying providing great service. Free WiFi available in store which is nice

This is the second time that I have gone to this cafe and no one has served me. They were all throught the back. How hard is it to pop your head around to see if anyone is waiting? Not good enough..

Poor excuse for a supermarket cafe. All food that the staff were responsible for was over or undercooked. The choice of food was pitiful and the members of staff seemed to wish to be anywhere but there. Not recommended.

food is often soggy or dried out on the hot plate, very little selection and it looks nothing like the pictures dotted all around the cafe. I stick to the kids boxes they are pretty good. Occasionally venture to have a disappointing sandwich, then think should have had a coffee and gone to actual asda for something to eat.
