Drove round car park for over half HR for space big enough for assisting with wheelchair. Couldn't get groceries as (new) wheelchair attachments are too low and wouldn't go over legs (saw other wheelchair users with baskets on their laps - so, not just us). Chose toasties and toasted paninis in cafe ...came out like just warmed up so we're soggy and really not nice ...didn't like to complain as it appeared to be just one elderly lady working and doing food) All parking stations were out of service so had a frustrating experience trying to get phone registered to make payment (automated system going round in circles); eventually paid online but ended up going into next price category because of time wasted and paid £7.20!! This was not a good day at Asda and I definitely wasn't patting my arse! Just felt arsy!! poor show Asda! Won't be returning!

I recently visited Asda Basildon Eastgate to do some shopping. When I went to pay, I noticed that an item I believed was on sale was ringing up at full price. I asked the cashier to double-check, and after calling her colleague, they confirmed it was full price. I then offered to show the cashier where I found the item with the sale label. However, she informed me that the item was no longer on sale, crumpled the label in her hand, and reiterated that it wasn’t discounted anymore. This isn’t the first time I’ve experienced this issue. Just last week, I was charged an extra £7 for a similar discrepancy. It seems there are often mismatches between shelf prices and what is charged at the till, accompanied by inadequate explanations. I recommend everyone carefully check their receipts after shopping.

Purchased 4 bunches of flowers to place on various family graves, unfortunately 3 of them were mouldy (in the centre, hence why I didn't notice this in store). I appreciate they were not expensive, but I would have thought a large store such as Asda would have better quality control regardless of the price

Very poor service today. My wife and I have been working all day and we had a home delivery booked for 6-7pm. No message or call telling me it was going to be late. It got to 8:30 still no delivery so I rang there head office to find out there is an issue and I won’t be getting my delivery. So Asda thought it would be great to offer me a e voc for £5. So when I reorder my delivery and have to pay for it again I’m only £1.50 up on this. They promised me an additional £5 but they have not gave it to me. So off to the local take away as I now have no food in the house. Out of pocket again because of Asda and now going to shops on my day off to do my food shop. Great Father’s Day I’m going to have

Lived in Basildon my whole life and rarely ever used Asda toilets. Yesterday I had to as I was already in Asda. One stall had the door hanging off its hinges. The covered in dried urine where it had been there for so long. I had to wipe the toilet seat with some tissue and my own bottled water. And to top it off after having to clean the urine myself, there was no hand soap available to wash my hands after.

But i could not find it on the shelf, i asked 3 members of staff including customer service desk. I interuptes customer service chat with her friends.she said its down that way if its not there we havent got it. Online it said it was still in stock. She didnt want to help or check on her computer for isle number for me. Rude. Unhelpful. Very disapointed. I think some staff there need a kick up the backside. Poor customer service you can replicate the situation by working 9-5 at office, commuting to home and then go to Asda for a quick shopping. Dont have proper change to use the trolley, nobody at customer service. Staff at check out refuse to give the available trolleys Try finding the items where they used to be. I visited the store at 5.15pm to have a meal in the cafe before doing my shopping. The cafe closes at 6 but we were told 'can only do hot drinks and cakes.' Couldn't have a toasted sandwich as the machine was already switched off and the coffee machine was switched off too. Looked like the cafe closed a lot earlier than 6pm. Seemed more like the staff finish at 6 so the cafe stops serving 90% of stuff at 5 so that they can clean up and go home at 6.

Asda have the smallest toilet stalls in the UK. With loo roll holder on the wall and a bin by your side, its a wonder women can clean themselves up and get dressed again. Its been the same for years. I knew it would be busy, so expected a wait for a trolley, as is always the case. Lucky enough as I arrived someone was returning one. Was not expecting to wait for a scan as you go handset. 3 of the handsets were showing ready to go, but unavailable to unlock. On going to the scan and go counter I asked about them and said there was a queue waiting for them. The reply was "well they'll have to wait". Wasn't expecting that!! She then went on to say "I'm only one person". I understand it's busy but it was quite rude to speak that way. Surely that would be a conversation for the staff member and the person doing the staff schedule and not 'take her frustration out on customers'. Around the store there was a lot of buckets and wet floor signs obstructing the flow. Finally got some of what I came in for. In future will try and avoid Saturday, but if it's my only day off, I can't avoid it

Had the worst experience at a supermarket to date when asking for a blue light card discount to be authorised. Myself and my sister are both NHS workers with in date blue light cards and photo ID. As a kind gesture, I offered to pay for a few items totalling less than £7 when a 5 ft 1 middle aged woman with glasses and long red/brown hair working the self checkouts informed us with an extremely rude tone that I was not able to pay for it with someone else’s blue light card. She didn’t even ask if I had a blue light card and continued to berate us. We remained polite and confirmed that the blue light card holder would pay. Before she would apply the discount, she then accused me of transferring the money over in a bank transfer afterwards, adamant to not give us this discount. She proceeded to walk away, clearly convinced her narrow minded view was the truth. We had spent ten minutes waiting in line, with a further fifteen people behind us, only to be denied of a discount that we were entitled to, without unnecessarily rude questioning. I can understand that it’s busy at this time of year with Christmas shopping but there was no need to be so rude and to be accused of fraud over a 60p discount. Her goal was clearly not to inform us but to berate us before we could even defend ourselves and we are extremely disappointed at the service as frequent customers who have never had any issues before.

I like the layout, so it's easy to navigate without missing an isle/area. The store is conveniently close to me which is a bonus. Last two weekly shops (£90-110 roughly on groceries per trip) there have been no large trolleys, and my puzzled expression was on the faces of other customers. Yesterday I got inside and there were none. I drove round the carpark and still none. Previous week I walked around the carpark for disappointment too. We would order online, but staff are not concerned about expiry dates. Each time I have left empty handed I have driven to another supermarket, and from now on I they will be my primary supermarket.

No changing rooms despite selling an abundance of clothing and toilets closed from 6:30pm?! What kind of store is this? Would've been only one star if not for the friendly staff. Editing to add a reply to the reply. Yes I'm aware of the returns policy and I am sure it must help with your profit margins to encourage customers to return before they're due another shop, especially with the arrangements of sales etc to entice spending. However, I among others am not one of those people and do not intend to muck about buying clothing and spending more than necessary in order to travel to the store to return things. All in all, I feel it's very poor design choice and a very poorly thought out plan/idea to not give customers the immediate option of trying on the clothing before they commit to purchase. The toilet issue is also very inconvenient, what if you have customers with bladder/bowel issues that require a loo urgently? What if they can't find a member of staff to unlock the loo or even what if the staff doesn't believe them? I've personally experienced in the past a time where I was pregnant and desperately needed the toilet but was denyed access.

Decided to go into the cafe at Asda first problem the staff got the order wrong ok mistakes happen, when correct order came up after confusion I found it dry and tasteless extreme lack of mushrooms, black pudding was unpleasant, one of my biggest pet hates please, please, please tell me why nobody knows how to do a nice runny sunny side up egg or eggs the eggs I was served today was congealed and like they had been sat there for hours being kept warm so they was like a lump of rubber tasteless and horrid. I didn’t want perfection as it was just a Asda cafe but I think sadly the staff at the cafe don’t seem to be able to cook a half decent breakfast, mine did not look or even attempted to resemble the one in the picture with nice runny eggs and mushrooms a decent serving of nicely presented nice juicy bacon instead of the dry shrivelled tasteless microwaved bacon as it was burnt around the edges and bacon goes dry if cooked in a microwave, I think Asda would be best if they could actually find staff that know how to fry juicy bacon and runny eggs and something tasty very sad really a big let down.

It was very clear that they were giggling at my 2 yr old son and me because I have used rain sheeter to cover his buggy, to be honest its just the way I am trying to protect my little one as I can't use mask on him. This has happened 2nd time in a row now . which i believe is a extremely rude & insulting. I would really appreciate if management can spare a thought on this & do the needful so that this can be avoided in future . Staff involved Lady standing behind the customer service with short hair. Lady standing at scan and go check out (dip dye hair with reading glasses ) And 2 more staff member standing by the trolley self check out.( A man and women ) . I have recently lost my family member with covid-19 ,hence I am over protective. but again this dozen give you right to insult me.

Don't bother going, the security guards are like little Hitlers, reminds me of Germany in 1933. Strutting around thinking they are hard, telling little kids off for not wearing there masks properly.

Don't bother ordering a pizza from the Deli Counter...they are tasteless. You may as well eat cardboard. The ladies who make them should be given customer service training as you can stand there for ages before they make eye contact, acknowledge you or even speak to you and then eventually ask you if you would like to order a pizza. Why else would I be waiting???? It's certainly not for their outstanding service.

Dear Asda, Yesterday I visited the Eastgate Basildon Store and was appalled at the lack of social distancing but feel this is somewhat down to management for allowing far too many customers in at one time, Sainsbury, Argos,PC world ,to name but a few, are continuing to count and control numbers of customers and therefore have retained a a queuing system. Surely you can see that with so many customers in store at the same time, social distancing is impossible! The crowded check out area is horrendous and will be a prime site for the spread of Covid 19. I felt very vulnerable. Please go back to limiting numbers and queuing for everyone's sake. This virus has not gone away and your lack of restrictions is helping to spread it and making shopping at your store a fearful experience. I have shopped with you since the day you opened but now feel it is too unsafe to shop with you. I beg you to reconsider your safety measures, it needs more than just face masks. When people are not allowed to.meet family in groups over six..it seems irresponsible to allow large crowds into your store. Please, please restrict numbers, we managed queuing before,we can do it again. Please set an example before more people are unnecessarily infected with covid. Yours very disappointed. Mrs Valerie Rossiter. P.S. A reminder from Government Guidelines:- Retail Food Shops: Retail food shops need to help reduce the spread of this virus. This includes avoiding crowding and create adequate spacing between individuals. Effective measures to support this will vary by store and location but could include: Remember to: Keep monitoring the number of customers and limit where necessary limit access to avoid congestion Implement a good queue management systems to limit too many people gathering at entrances, so everyone can stick to the 2 meters distance advice.

Baskets and trolleys extremely dirty never clean .Makes you not want to put food in them. The flour where trolly are located has you go into the store takes a lot to be disiared so so dirty, Really needs to be cleaned. Car park a huge turns off for starters needs a good sweep.and flour clean. At the far back by subway drain covers been missing for a long time which is very dangerous. Some of the staff could be more friendly. Need more staff on customer services and lottery part .

Getting better at supplying Vegan alternative foods. Most of what I need as a Vegan I can get from Asda easily and cheaply. There are other cheaper super markets for groceries (veg), but generally this store is OK and marginally more for a few things.

You’ve done a very stupid thing by putting a rouge car park operator in your car park, did you not see all of the lost revenue & problems caused by smart parking at westgate!!! You will suffer the same issues here, be prepared to lose revenue in your store now as I and many other people have already said we will no longer be using you’re car park, your store or Basildon any more! Good bye and good luck!

Visited this gem of a place today after finding out the log cabin has been closed. We not from round here but we definitely will be back and recommend to friends etc, a few little teething problems but to be fair they have only been open for the first time since lockdown so it’s understandable and also sporting a new menu. So to summarise bloody lovely and friendly staff and made the four of us very welcome, thanks again

Went on a Monday night, enough staff to cover the quiet evening but the service was very slow. Water took 30 mins to come after asking 3 times. One Waitrose was extremely moody and sullen and made us feel like a nuisance for any request. I would question why she is in the service industry. Ask is not a cheap affordable family option like it use to be and is certainly overpriced for what you get, particularly in service. Shame, this was for my sons 13th birthday and we are disappointed with the experience provided for us.
