Just want to give a special mention to Sian in Asda Bangor. I needed to exchange an item and hadn't kept my receipt but she went out of her way to find the item on her system so that I could get my money back. Over and beyond - thank you Sian.

Have shopped in asda bangor for many years and have a great friendship with nearly all the members of staff, have never had a problem up till Sunday when a member of staff who I have been friendly with for years accused myself an 13 year old son of trying to steal socks before I even started to scan my shopping and then asked security to wave a alarm tag past the alarms whilst my 2 year old walked through so he could search her bag because she was dragging it along the floor she claimed it looked to heavy and whilst i scanned my shopping she stood behind me and watched me scan every item which made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Came back on the Monday and was passed on a message from security that this member of staff had said I was banned and wanted me and my family to leave the store. I confronted this member of staff who then continued to ask me to leave the store and accuse me of attempting to steal socks in front of a very long queue of customers who could hear every word. I suffer with severe mental health and anxiety and I was made to feel extremely uncomfortable and small by someone I thought was a friend. I spent £100 that day but I was attempting to steal cheap socks.

Discussed....... I called into the store Asda have always had a good standards were ever I go in the country .but yesterday I was passing through Bangor I called into the store and I was disgusted with the standard of some of the staff .i went to the refrigerator were you can get some takeaway lunch and the was 3 members of staff standing talking saying you better turn up on Saturday for the night, out you liver will be bad the next day after our night out and laughed .i know people with liver complaints that is not funny and she was a supervisor blonde with a yellow body water on she was wearing no mask I asked her could I get food please she just looked at me and movies 1/2 meter I had to squeeze passed her no distancing at all then another member of staff again with no make pushed near me no distance from her so I left the store the experience was so in professional for a company with such high standards.

Recent shopping trip to asda went fairly well. As we had been to other shops previously we had a few other bags which we placed into the trolley we had. Some great offers on food, toys, household products also. Floor was marked clearly as social distancing requires the 2m distance to be kept. Their was also hand sanitizer and blue towel roll before entering shop to be used. Check out lady was lovely and patient also. Got stopped by security on way out as we had various other bags but once we proved everything was all counted and paid for he was very apologetic.

So we went to a different market as we didn't want to shop in one that has such a unwell raised staff. Great shop , worst staff ever , very rude.

Sandwiches and wraps were out of date, I ordered a cup of tea, the cup still had tannin stains so it had not been washed properly. The condiment area was dirty, knives and forks were stained. The floor and seating was filthy. I don't think the cafe staff are particular about their appearance either, lack of decent attitude too! No toilets (almost) While lots good about this store the toilet situation is ridiculous. There are two (2) toilets. Both are shared disabled toilets. This is a pain for me but a serious and embarrassing problem for others. A group of disabled kids has just been shown in. One of the boys asked to go to the loo he goes out with one of the carers and 10 seconds later they are back. "The queues are MASSIVE", says the carer. How that situation will resolve itself I hate to think! This is a pretty new BIG store. How the hell did Asda think that two loos were enough? PS I talked to Brian, Manager of Departments or some such. I mainly about the dire internet and his response? "We are a supermarket not a coffee shop." I despair. Oh and he said look we have signs saying you can only stay FOUR hours. Completely missing the point! Can you see where it says 3 hours?

We went one morning for something hot whilst we had some time to kill in Bangor. Breakfast was hot, but the mushrooms were boiled not fried and the egg didn’t have a crispy bottom so probably poached, but can’t be sure. We don’t eat out often so he hoped for a proper breakfast but it felt like the healthy version of a English breakfast. I was disappointed. The staff were helpful although the current insurance that tea has to be served in a cup and saucer rather than a mug was also a disappointment but this is tetley branding rather than Asda policy... The cafe was clean, the disabled toilet is clean, (no hoist or adult changing area which is a disappointment) but we are looking for somewhere else to have a proper cooked breakfast in Bangor.

They are normally short staffed so you see uncleared tables quite often. Despite the enormous fish for £4.50, it wasn't the best and very wet inside. Quality is a 2 - However the price picks it up to a 3. On occasions the food is better.

Decent pub but what made it for us was Lewis behind the bar. Played an excellent mix of music and was very engaging with customers including us. Lewis also played a few requests and was very knowledgable music wise - it was great chatting to him about music in general and he was spot on with his recommendation of Imelda May’s cover of the Northern Soul classic Tainted Love (which a certain band from Leeds may have covered early 80s too). Regular live music nights are very busy so while generally dog friendly, probably best to avoid taking the dog on live music nights. Thanks Lewis - your happiness was infectious and you made sure our last night in Aberdyfi spent at The Brit was top!
