Terrible shop nothing on shelves after 3 pm staff are nice new owners are dragging it down

As a tourist, I called in here for some essentials and breakfast essentials it was very mixed. Aisle's missed, and nothing seemed to be in the right place. I eventually found everything I needed and wanted, I went to the tills, and the girl was fine until I opened my mouth... WELSH! I didn't hear another sound of the girl who served me.

Used to be my store of choice but find I can’t spend my money there now even if I want to, due to lack of stock, bare shelves and little choice

Customer for decades, never again, fell ill in deserted car park, sun night, was unfit to drive a mile home, for less than an hour, the gang that Asda employ to record your visit are now demanding £140 from disabled customer who caused injury to Asda by recovering in an empty car park rather than break traffic law and risk my life and that of other road users/pedestrians, parking eye are well known for their unethical practices, and this experience confirms the underhand way they try to extort money from you. Somerfield stores stopped using them due to customer complaints. Be careful you are monitored by ANPR cameras every time you visit, getting a puncture, illness etc could cost you dearly. I will never use Asda again. Absolutely disgusting to allow customers to be treated this way.

Zainy idea this. But if you need a pharmacist to be present to sell anything at all in the pharmacy, would it not be good plan to employ more than one? I know I know, it's madness. But it would probably stop people in pain having to hang around while the only one you've got has their lunch. Just another good idea that Asda will ignore or come up with an excuse for. I predict the former

Just visited Kendal Asda , wow staff on self checkout , 2 mature ladies ignoring red lights on self serve tills laughing between themselves, the one lady with wavy shoulder length brown hair RUDE, asked to remove tag and thanked her, not even an acknowledgment, mind you if her and the young lad are doing all the work !!!!

Really gone downhill, never have stock of items you want, click and collect orders end up with out of stock items or stupid substitutions, useless supermarket.

This store in the last month has gone down the pan again, out of date products, empty shelves, security guard filling shevles, no stock rotation.. tills out of service and dont work

20 minutes down road from Tebay Services where petrol was £1.72pl and here £1.45pl so we worth a short detour of M6 to fill up at a much lower cost.

Not only at the age of 28 and 35 we both got refused wine due to a member of staff who looks 14 refused us ... to be told it's company policy over 25 so I got the ID and got told to get another bottle ... as again company policy states the staff cannot hand the bottle back over 🤦🏻‍♂️ the worlds gone mad and this evenings episodes I can see where the phrase jobs worth comes from.

An extemely amazing place for shopping for groceries, household items and pharmaceuticals. I was also impressed that it had its own filling station where cars can be filled with fuel by self administration and paid for with card. I mean this is completely different from the ASDA stores I have been to in Hartlepool, Aberdeen, Newcastle and a couple of other branches. I also love how polite and cheerful the cas attendant was because he practically made the people on his till laugh most of the time with pleasant jokes. I am also thrilled with how professional the lady at the pharmacy store was. She knew I was asking for a sensitive drug and immediately ushered me into a room for privacy sake and she completely won me over I also loved the signature color GREEN of ASDA splattered everywhere, and it somehow added a touch of life to everything in the surrounding

Closing 30 minutes early for no reason

Went shopping there today with my elderly mother, you couldn't hear yourself think, the music was too loud and the tannoy announcements were even louder and seemed to be every few minutes. We both had headaches by the time we left. I'll stick to Morrisons in future

Shop here every week, no complaint’s so far…

Visited twice and the gentleman understood dietary requirements of no pork straight away. Was very helpful and attentive. Great service and hope to see him again if im ever there again

This store has gone downhill in the past 18 months. New barriers on entry I suppose are there to stop criminals but do not present a very welcoming appearance. The prices have risen considerably above many other supermarkets and the whole business seems unloved. It's not full of franchises (from timpsons to selling your car). It smacks of desperation and money making. Asda used to stand for good value with quality products. The only good thing in this store today is the staff who work there.

7.15 am visit to Asda this morning in search of gifts, abandoned within 5 minutes due to intolerable environment. It was like walk into a disco. The music was intolerably loud especially in homewares and clothing. I literally couldnt think! Maybe thats the idea, to turn shoppers into mindless zombies who'll buy anything? Spoke to 2 members of staff about it, neither could give a toss, and interestingly, both were hard of hearing! Not surprising working in that awful environment 8+hours a day. Clearly managers/owners don't care. I abandoned my shopping trip and took my business elsewhere. I wont be back.

The only thing wrong in Asda,is the fact there are NOT enough tills operated! I don't want to do a large shop, then have to scan it myself. Being disabled I am unable to do this so I would shop elsewhere...

Delivery service on Just Eat is a disgrace was missing so many items and a 8 pack of Fanta how? I'd also like to add that I haven't been refunded for the missing items on just eat either!?

Went in for dinner in the café with my daughter and partner, I had a Chipotle chicken cheese toastie with chips and a hot chocolate for a £5.00, my partner had similar, again a £5.00, and my daughter ate for a pound! Total for the three of us was £11.00, absolutely brilliant. The staff they had on were absolutely brilliant three ladies who were all fantastic kind and courteous. Thanks for your great service the café team.

I'm disabled with a blue badge I've just got a parking ticket. it states I parked on Sunday 18th June at 8.41am and left at 10.56 it states I was 14 m8ns over allowed time. I thought I had 3 hrs with a blue badge won't be visiting this store againat at 10.

Don't visit on a Saturday evening, nothing left on the shelves!

Will not be eating here again. Ordered food, found a table for it to be covered in tobacco and looked liked it hadn't been wiped down in days. Came to get cutlery and there wasn't any, and when it did come some of the forks still had food on. Awful and over priced. The staff also seemed like they didn't want to be there and couldn't be bothered. Wiped her nose with her hand and then served coffee without washing hands

Great value, kids have 5 items for a £1. Staff interacted with kids, very very good value. Tables kept clean, food great.

It's a dimly lit store. It's also expensive compared to other supermarkets. I find Sainsbury's cheaper and the store is so much lighter and easier to find your way around.

If you’re crazy enough to have made the decision to shop here for the last hour on a Sunday, get ready for a turbulent experience. Cue shoppers dashing around the store, fearful of the coming apocalypse…. Or it’s the thought they close at 4pm and they might run out of bread and milk. Aisles are too small, whenever you stop, other customers descend like locusts and start to play twister around you to reach the goods they need (No one says they excuse me anymore). Were they closed on Saturday?? The icing on the cake is 25 minutes before closing time they dim the lights. This is to tell you that they ‘Close soon’. Just to make sure the message has made it across, they start periodic blaring announcements on the tannoy, giving you a relaxing countdown. Don’t you dare consider finishing off your shop at 16:01!!!

Nice Asda. Good selection of goods. Colleagues friendly at self scan and scan and go. We often have a cuppa in the cafe too, on our way to Cartmel Races.

This has become the absolute worst store in the area.... Consistently empty shelves, no staff on checkouts, only the awful self checkouts that are constantly craving staff attention.... What a complete bloody disaster.....

Our cart jammed on the way out on the security mat, I tried to give it a push and was shouted at by staff member say we hadn't come through a check out, my wife had the bill in her hand to show him but he was more interested in belitt8us in front of people, I'm 70 years old but if I'd been younger he would have been flat on his back odious little jobs worth Asda Kendal tell you staff to collecting trollies to be more polite.

I called here for a quiet drink. The staff were shouting from one end of the cafe to the other. E.g. have we got any chicken nuggets. Are there any tea cakes and so on. The manager seemed to be having meetings with various members of staff, leaving one woman doing everything. This made the process extremely slow, half hour wait to order hot chocolate, then the noise from the manager and staff was unbearable. I only came here as I have to wait for my partner to have a procedure at the hospital. I wish I'd stayed at the cafe in the hospital. A thoroughly unpleasant time

Quite possibly the most pathetic excuse for a bacon sandwich ever. £4.55 for that a cup of tea.

Nice place a lot quieter than other asdas friendly staff

Wife passed lady on till points app at start. She said do it at end. After her rushing through our items, she came out with price well over £150.00 before we finished. Wife said my points app, she replied too late now. What great customer care... not To tasha. Cant remember name or till number it was roughly 11.15 am sunday , middle aged lady ,sandy hair. But not bothered now.

My asda trip was made by a lovely gentleman named Brian at the checkouts with amazing customer service and he was so chatty. Made my day.

Just want to say a big thank you to the deputy manager Rachel for her wonderful care and support following an incident last week. Her care and dedication was second to none. Great asset.

Large store, found everything we wanted and needed - navigating the car park takes some training, especially on foot.

I’m quite regular at the Asda Cafe Kendal which is normally ( for a supermarket cafe ) quite good. There is no obvious menu and when asked if I wanted hot food I asked for JKT potato and prawns was curtly told “ we don’t Fu prawns “ so I asked for tuna and sweetcorn. I was given the smallest jacket I have ever seen, without butter and even so not enough filling to last the potato. I did mention it politely but some fell on deaf ears. Poor I am afraid

Normally I would enjoy the leisurely experience of shopping here however this is the last time I will be going on a Sunday as you couldn't move for the asda store trolley fillers here there and everywhere commanding there space in the ailse coupled with alot of empty spaces on the shelves and of course only 3 traditional tills being used

Very big store..well stocked and not so busy the time when l visited during week.

Family and I were in for some shopping as we were down on Holiday from Scotland, yellow coat at the front end, Sue I think was absolutely tremendous with helping us with a few ideas for things to do in the area.Shop was very busy but she was really nice and helpful.

Good selection at good prices. Great doughnuts. Jam ones with proper sugar on outside like they should have.

Once you navigate the car park to the entrance all is well. This is a nice large store with lots on offer. Generally excellent prices compared to other offering in this part of the country. Enjoyable shopping experience

Not sure why I keep calling in, but the service this visit was rubbish. No one serving, waited and waited, in the end put my head around the door to see 3 staff talking. The line had grown longer and the staff member was so abrupt when she eventually came out. Tables pretty dirty and some with dirty crockery.

We had a Asda delivery from this store to our holiday cottage near Windermere and only had one item not available. John the driver was very helpful with our delivery, and appreciated his service even at the end of a 10 hour shift.

My car died at the hospital so walked to Asda to buy some jump leads which unfortunately we're out of stock the staff were amazing and ran round and found a member of staff that had some in there car and he loaned me them ( gordan I think from grocery s) so just a great big thank you to you all

Disgusting service from workers

Absolutely terrible customer service. Every single time I have gone in with someone who is buying an energy drink they get refused service, despite the fact they have ID! The reason they get declined is because they have 1 person with them without an ID. 2 people at the till, 1 drink. 1 person with ID. I work in a bar, if I did this I'd be sacked on the spot for refusing service because 1 person who isn't drinking something restricted doesn't have ID. Workers always talk down to you during this process as well like they actually know the rules but one week I was getting served with college ID, which doesn't have my age on it. The next im not, the next it doesnt even get checked and the next get declined because a person stood talking to me doesn't have ID. Workers need proper training asap

Went in the cafe at Asda Kendal today. We were served by the most miserable, unwelcoming and downright rude woman we have ever had the misfortune to come across. Her name tag read BECCA so if you go in here give belligerent, bad mannered BECCA a very wide berth. She was abrupt bordering on insulting and must have been sucking on a lemon judging by the sour look on her face. The food WAS very nice and so were the other staff who were there and had it not been for Bad Mannered BECCA I would have given the cafe and the other lovely ladies who work there 5 full stars! BECCA needs to attend a course on how to have good customer relations as she is totally clueless and should stick to working in the back of the cafe and NOT EVER in front of house!

Used to enjoy shopping in Asda, but recently some of the staff have become quite unprofessional. Lots of cages around blocking the shelves which I means j am unable to look at the products and they clearly see that I am trying to look at the items, they don’t bother moving. This also is a hazard for the customers. Also on the last two trips I went there were a couple of young men reducing items in both the bakery and in the salad area and I try to look at the items. The guys are stood in front of the reduced area and can see that I’m trying to look. Instead of being polite and them moving out of the way to let me look, they smirked and carried on reducing. Same guys on both trips. They need to have some training on how to have some manners

It's an unexceptional supermarket but the checkouts are looking very dated now. Come along ASDA it's time to put your hand in your pocket and do some updating. Also, I dislike the garish green corporate colour but I doubt that'll be changed just on my say so. We usually shop at a large competitor to ASDA and I do have to observe ASDA does seem rather run down by comparison. I remember when Archie used to do the meet and greet at Kendal ASDA. Now sadly deceased he was a gifted raconteur. A larger than life character he also had a larger than life midrift. He used to stand in the foyer just back from the door chatting into the microphone. One memorable evening he was extolling the virtues of a garment over the tannoy and informing customers of the sizes available - these being 'small, medium, large, extra large, extra extra large and almost-fits-Archie-size'. Good on you Archie. As far as I'm concerned Archie's presence will forever walk the aisles of Kendal ASDA ...

Great local grocery shop, petrol prices are not as competitive as they were previously.

Went to get some shopping thought we would have something to eat in cafe, ordered two brunches were told it would be twenty mins as there were no cooked meals ready, we were ok with that , I asked for one egg only please, but then got told I am not doing eggs , so we left. Brunch consists of two eggs , don't understand why they weren't cooking them.

Disgusting, green, mouldyand black rotten pepper. We received an online delivery today of a pack of peppers. The orange one was black, mouldy and soggy. How someone could pick this and send it out is beyond belief. Tried to contact the store, but due to unprecedented demand, they informed me the phone would not be answered. I could not find an e mail address to inform the store. Just hoping the store in Kendal respond to these pictures.

Good Asda, well stocked, nice and tidy.

Although a clean spot the furniture is worn and dated, our food was pretty awful, my bacon was awful and the wife's food looked pretty bad. Coffee was just warm. A clear sign indicating hand sanitizer, but couldn't see the hand sanitizer. It's been a while since I was there, it's not improved. Staff very pleasant.

Basically just your average ASDA, nothing else.

We were very disappointed with the Asda Kendal cafe. The food wasn't nice, even after I took the tray back to the checkout to show the lady the green mouldy cheese! The plates were swiftly changed, but the experience was bad. Therefore, we are trying out Morrisons Kendal cafe today (see photo). Nice, spacious cafe with nice food and staff.

Quick easy access, went in for sandwiches for picnic and conveniently located near the door and then fast self service checkouts. Not this stores fault in particular but not impressed with the new "meal deal" which instead of being a fixed price is by 3 get cheapest free :-o All well and good if you're just getting one meal deal but couldn't help but feel conned at the till when we got 2 what would have been old meal deals and one standalone pasta! Not sure I'd chose Asda for their lunchtime deals anymore as a result

Has had to be the worst burger I’ve ever had the miss pleasure of eating. I’ve no idea What the meat was but it certainly wasn’t beef. There was no mayonnaise and no vinegar in the cafe and both had to be bought from the shop floor. I certainly won’t be going back in a hurry Very disappointed

Totally unhelpful staff and management last night after a round trip of 26miles I know there would have been more of what I asked for in the bakery because I've been helped before by the very helpful bakery staff . ..maybe it was too late in the day 9pm for them to care less but if you open til 12 then your team should be willing to help out it's not a lot to ask

Nice visit to Asda today. Topped off by our meal in the Cafe! The staff couldn't be any more helpful, the place was clean and the food was lovely. Well done ladies!! 👍

A big thanks to Brian for helping my wife and I at the self check out yesterday as tills were all closed (9pm 'curfew'). He was courteous & the banter helped two customers forget their tiredness!

Come on Asda - I know its Covid times but you could do better than this. I wanted some jacket potatoes with tuna but the response was we haven't got any tuna (you are inside the supermarket surely you could get some). Anyway I didn't mention this to them so I then asked for some cheese and ham paninis to be told they hadn't got them either. The staff weren't really interested and gave no apology but i was directed to a small selection of items available in the cabinet. If the menu is restricted please put a notice to that effect before we get to ordering. However this wasn't the worse part of the the visit - sitting in the actual dining area was at best comparable to sitting in a storage cupboard. Upturned tables between seating areas. Seating areas taped off but with some scruffy tatty tape that looked as though it had been there for ever. Tables were cleared but not wiped between different lots of customers. Making the dining area clean, Covid safe and a more welcoming place to be has to be a priority.

Ok but I'm not a asda fan. I don't like there clothes like I did don't seem as good as they were.

Very messy shelves, had to dig out item at the back of shelves. Staff blocking aisles with cages.. cleanliness of store acceptable but not perfect. Loved the self checkout and staff very attentive at self checkout explaining what to do and authorising alcohol and scanning errors..

Always very well stocked and staff adhere to social distancing rules

Very shaky computer system in the store. Messed up two credit cards for me. I had to spend a couple of hours on the phone to the card companies to sort out their mess. Staff were a mix of patronising and downright rude. Maybe it was a bad day but I can't recall being treated this badly in any other supermarket I've used.

While waiting for a relative ar the nearby hospital I called in Asda ,went to the cafe and asked an employee is it open for takeaway as the lockdown had begun . The employee grunted yes. Well there was a queue so I did a little shopping ( no complaints ) and came back to find no queue but no staff either . Stood for a few minutes and nobody appeared .Like the Marie Celeste. Asked the Asda store employees and was told the cafe staff were on a break. At 9-30 a.m ?

Helpful and informative staff. Brilliant that the cafe is doing a take away service during lockdown.
