Asda in Welwyn Hatfield

On my visit on 10 feb, i found some staff rude and don't care about their customers, not very helpful. Chatting staff that dont move when your trying to look at shelves, I have found that in other asda stores it's much the same. There was quite a few short dated stuff, I have handed quite a few out of date items to staff, so be carefull. Things wrongly priced/in wrong place.

Thought I'd pop in to get the famous heart shaped pizza , got to the counter no one there - 8am by the way!! I asked a lady , she went to get another lady - who proceeds to tell me , The counter won't be open till 11 ish , I asked how come since it's advertised as open at 8am , she says I'm the only one here staff sickness and holidays I can't make pizzas . OK no problems ... she than tells me - we have hardly any toppings any way , so whats on the shelf is all we have ... Ermm OK... its 4 days before valentines day surly you would have your staff in order ? Or atleast some heart shaped pizza on the shelf ... and some toppings? I won't be going back how dissap

Very disrespectful behaviour by the staff and security to the customers, listening to the staff words, check the cameras before reacting to anything, your staff is not correct they might have some other problems and showing on customer Please have staff who understand English.

On 11th of Feb ,me and my friend we were talking with each other taking our exit out and out of now where a member from the Asda staff, stopped my friend and started blaming him of abusive behaviour.Trust me my friend he didn't even talked nor asked for her help during the payment..Even the security guy didn't check the camera and he couldn't even speak English properly.They just simply banned both of us from the store.We asked them to check the camera as well,but they didn't.I don't man maybe this is because we are not English!!!

Got a delivery collection through a platform, I was heading to Welwyn G C, when a Asda Hatfield pinned for just over £6, I thought I’ll see what Hatfield has to offer, how was I so foolish to accept that offer to out of my way to waste my time + potential monies and effort to go to Asda Hatfield and wonder where to go and collect the groceries, to be told to wait in a designated area and then the person disappears and 5 minutes later another tells me to wait 15-20 minutes. This was Sunday just gone, roughly 08:00 in the morning. Roughly 20 items of groceries. No-one is going to accept waiting to collect anything for this service for little money.

While I appreciate asda offers much better value for money than places like Tesco, the act of actually paying for your items is utterly incompetent. There are several self service that display they accept cash but when you actually get on one it's card only this is a theme and despite trying 3 none of which accepted cash resulting in me asking to be let through to customer service to pay. Asda if you don't want people paying with legal tender don't advertise that you do

Great shop. Lovely ladies working on the pizza 🍕 counter, very helpful and polite. Got my flavoured chicken from the meat counter. Great choice from food, house and clothes nice big car park. Would recommend this ASDA to others.

Visited Asda today to buy my weekly shop of groceries - asked Fauze in the fruit and vegetable department if he could kindly look out the back for some spinach for me - Fauze returned with crates of spinach - such a delight to experience great customer service - thank you Fauze - will keep returning next week.

Sorry I took longer to write my review. Sometime in July 2024 I forgot my iPhone on the counter at the cigarett/customer service desk. My granddaughter was calling the lady answered and informed her that I left my mobile phone there she will keep it for me. I went back and met a very kind and lovely lady who kept my phone safe for me. I have forgotten her name. I am very greatful and proud that such calibre of staff exist in our local Asda since we see less smile from those walkingalong the isles and even ignoring customers who ask . They seem so busy for even a minute

What is it with your staff ramming into you with cages. Shoving you out the way. Walking right into you. Blocking you in. Not moving so you can get past. Standing around chatting and ignoring you.Knocking my child over and not even acknowledging it?! Rude. Disrespectful and need some lessons in customer service.

Today I went to Asda bought items scanned all then payed and it gave tick sign payment completed and that security Asian guy even saw it when I called someone and said I didn’t go through even showing proof and called for another staff to come along and this security guy didn’t even mention to her that card payment is accepted but still showing to pay instead he said to her money hasn’t gone through she needs to start again and that staff that came she raised her voice on me whilst explaining to me and then I payed again and then the same staff saw the tick sign and said it’s payed but don’t show it and make me pay twice same amount went twice and the other day I payed and calling staff for bag then this black guy security guy appeared up keep looking at screen if I payed when I did and I said I payed I need bag he got the bag the security guy and was about to put stuff himself and I stopped him and said let me put my stuff bec he was making me rush by getting another women in front of me and telling her to go use it when I didn’t even get my stuff in the bag keep pushing that lady to go and that women had no sense to see I have stuff so wait No staff or security guards have any respect for costumers they are very rude and don’t treat customers well I don’t know about others what ever they think but the 1 staff and 2 security guards were raciest towards me treat me like they can say and do what they want treat me how they want

8th of November 2024 I went to Asda got shopping with my husband and going out of Asda we went to wrong side by mistake and this security guard stopped us and checked our receipt we didn’t even pass the security alarm where it makes noise when u go out we didn’t even go past there and this lady went pass it made alarm and security lights guard didn’t even stop her and instead he left it and we just went on wrong side didn’t even go out of Asda still we got stopped these new security guard doesn’t even do his job properly and this lady was white he let her go I don’t care what others think about him but he is racist Indian guy security guard that am talking about was on the chemist side

Just come here to say how disappointed i am with click and collect service, not the 1st today but several time it has happened to me. Come to collect your shopping but it isn’t ready or part of it is ready. Then you have to double check as you start to doubt that you getting what you paid for ( loads of times drove away missing items) today I had a pack with 12 water bottles missing and 1 butter out of 2 purchased… As I said it isn’t the 1st time and when you start to explain to the staff why you checking your order against what has been given to you, you get an attitude back, worst they swear at their end the had 1 quantity of each item… You can’t even ask now for what you actually paid for . DOUBLE CHECK YOUR ORDERS WHEN COLLECTING!

I bought two packs of 1.5L water and asked permission to take a shortcut to my car. The answer of the staff was a quick "NO! You have to go around." and turned their back. I'm missing a leg. It is a clear disability. Please don't treat your customers like that.

Hands Face Space Consideration. A good size supermarket to cater for grocery, fresh produce, essential item and cleaning items. Worth a visit definitely.

I like Asda as it’s close to home, affordable and stocks a good variety of products. I’d just like to ask management to keep your home shoppers under control as they race around dangerous with no regards for customers. Someone nearly smashed into my shoulder this morning. I know it sounds a bit old fashioned but customers still matter, I believe 🤔

Asda online ordering is just useless. I work for vulnerable people with severe physical disabilities and learning disabilities who require food and nutrition. Asda marked off the delivery for my clients as completed when they didn't deliver it and lied. They then failed to deliver the food for 5 days with me calling them 3 times to ask what was going on. They finally delivered the food 5 days late and basically offered a £10 voucher to say sorry. Today at my partner's private account they have failed to give us a refund for our delivery and marked it as completed. Useless company absolutely useless.

HORRIBLY UNDERSTAFFED. Poor lass on the checkout lamented the 'new owners' and the lack of staff. We waited ages during the day and it all seemed a little haphazard. THREE tills open, only!

Very bad customer service especially from Charles hatfield branch George customer support, they should be not in the customer support , there is no manager to speak no supervisor rude behavior we do every week more than £200.00 worth of shopping just to get this rude behaviour , we bought stainless steel bowl , only in one use they all turn black , we showed to this gentleman Charles and we getting a coment back wash it, I offered keep it from my side for free and see if you can wash it , very bad bhehaviour , no common sense just rude .manager should call me and I will make sure to put the formal complaint to george Headoffice as well .

I have now downgraded my rating to a single miserable star which truly reflects just how poor this shop has become. If you are really lucky you can collect a trolley outside the store - more usually you need to to return to the car park and hunt for one there and hope it has four working wheels. Most trollies are rusty or generally knackered to be honest. My most recent visit had me dodging the endless 'pickers' who were clogging the aisles, blocking the shelves and completely oblivious to in store shoppers. As usual there were lots of empty shelves, rubbish everywhere and more worryingly, wrongly priced or unpriced products. The worst part of my visit was being in a queue of around a dozen people with trollies all waiting for the single manned till. The poor cashier was working as fast as she could but still no further tills were opened. I asked her about the lack of staff and service and she just rolled her eyes and told me this is the new Asda way ! Anyway, It'll be my last visit unless they drastically up their game. Back to Tescos for me.

Toilets never been cleaned and I never use their filthy toilets

Saw a guy in a jurassic park shirt scream shout |.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 while Loading delivery trucks he was clearly upset as he kicked screamed and slammed around, hope he’s ok seems very stressed

Pharmacy is not open and closed as displayed, should be updated the hours and stop lying. It is not open until midnight.

Avoid the north-west exit of the car park. There's a pot hole big enough to tear a tyre off. Also avoid the store entirely if you want to do a big shop as there are hardly any trolleys.

The toilets here are disgusting. 2 were not working correctly and the level of cleanliness is not acceptable, moreso for a food store. I reported it to a floor worker who frankly was not interested. This store is generally on the ball with everything, not yesterday. Just proves that they don’t always get it right.

I park here from Monday to Friday to pick up my daughter after school. I often pop into ASDA for shopping, and twice a month, I refuel at the ASDA petrol station. However, starting April 29th, ASDA will limit free parking to 30 minutes. If I spend £10 on shopping, I can park for three hours. I plan to do my shopping and refueling here less often now, as I'll pick up my daughter directly from school and do shopping and refueling at a supermarket near my home instead.

Car park is like a third world country, disabled bays and children bays used mostly by uber eats waiting for McDonald's orders. How nobody has been hit by the bad drivers is anyone's guess.

Very rude staff . Don’t do the shoppings here .they are really rasist. Even the managers not helpful at all .

The price on the shelves are different at the till. Very limited stock on the shelves. Promo's never scan on the till. Never enough manned staff on main checkouts even tho I know for a fact that most of selfscan staff are till trained. Most of self scan tills are never properly working i.e cash/card tills only take card. Staff are not allowed to cover the sign that say's cash/card as store manager will not allow this. So after you've scanned your shopping you then find out you've got to rescan all your shopping on another till. There's an easy answer to this fix the tills or get new one's as promised.

The owners of Asda just want to run it into the ground. Boycott it. I suspect it will be closed soon and turned into more flats. They are also illegally 'missplacing' products so they look cheaper than they actually are. They will claim it is just staff error, but it is so obvious now it is deliberate. They know most people will not check the price. One example of many below. Trading Standards will be informed.

Poor service poor ques rude staff not friendly or helpful they all have bad attitude it’s actually made me not want to shop here ! Self service staff were shockingly rude even said they didn’t care !! I asked a member of staff that was working on isle his attitude was the company don’t care we under staffed under payed as customers that’s not the help or care. I just wanted some help. Unfortunately Asda your quality in staff and store was atrocious. Not one of your members even said hello or thank you or even smile ! Won’t be shopping in your store again

This place is a joke now. Spent over an hour getting the shopping list in the trolley, and they tell me it's closed when I get to the checkouts. Well done, no announcement, nothing to make me aware they close. Just a waste of my time.

My dad went here today (16th) and their naan breads were labled as out of date on the 6th and some bread even had mold on them 🤢 he told the staff and she rolled her eyes and snatched the bread out of his hand, put it back on the shelf and told him choose another one then and walked off! Sadly this is the closest shop to us but will be going literally anywhere else whenever we go shopping, the staff are always rude here. Would put minus stars if I could.

Would be great if they ever had any baskets. Lots of customers walk around the store carrying 5-10 items because there were no baskets. Edit - there's lots of baskets again now, but they never put them at the front of the store. People get them by barging past other people at the self checkouts.

This is the worst supermarket in the world. Filthy, terrible layout and inadequate staff. You will undoubtedly need to join an unnecessarily long queue, in order to pay. I now bypass this store in favour of iceland or aldi.

Awful supermarket. There are never enough of the small trolleys. Most of them have wonky wheels anyway. Too many items low or out of stock and checkout staff who are slow and more interested in chatting than doing their job efficiently. Most of the customers look like they haven't had a wash for a few weeks. Only positive is the wide car parking spaces but I won't be returning!

Lovely place to spend time and shopping

on 4 different occasion's i have tried to shop there but i can never get a trolley. due to my shoulder i have to have a trolley not a basket but i can never find them i spent 15 minuets looking for one once. then they have a delivery of trolleys but i went there 25.01.23 and there was none again. there never seems to be any staff around. there only ever seems to be one till open when i go with ques all the way up the isle

Simply….. driver could not follow instructions I added for delivery, driver did not call, so I ended up going for a walk in the rain and wind, he almost missed out on 3 water crates, which I reminded him off. Driver still managed to miss out on delivering 2 other items. I carried goods in. Missed items can not be redelivered, you cannot collect them at store, all you can do is wait 5 days for your refund. With all said, website isn’t any better than the delivery service or call to customer services. Hence my score of 1, which I think is poignant.

I find the staff quite appalling as they have an attitude towards us innocent customers they act like they are being forced to work a few days ago all I wanted was I pack of plastic bags and when the issue wasn't quite solved security rudely said to me LEAVE HER ALONE and this has not been the first time I have been untreated well .There fore I will be giving this ASDA in particular 1 star

Asda have got a real moron working "security" who shut the second door as I was approaching despite me being on crutches. He then just motioned to me to use the other way in.

Had a problem with a neverstick saucepan purchased from Hatfield store, which would not work with my induction hob, despite the documentation saying it was induction compatible On line ASDA "help" pretty useless, just referring me back to the store, as I had no receipt despite paying for it on my Asda card Tracie at the in-store desk could not have been helpful As well as having a lovely sunny disposition, she took my details promising to go back through their records and find the sale. Sure enough, rang me in a couple of days saying found the sale and to bring the pan back for a refund Tracie was not on duty when I did return, and I did not get such a cheerful staff member, but still refunded 5 stars Tracie Whatever they're paying you, you richly deserve, and should get a raise

The floors were unclean, and the service was not good when I asked for help and the store is layedout in such a way that I struggle to navigate it. As well as this the parking is always full so it takes ages to find a space.

An excellent store with top class covered bicycle parking despite there being a motorbike parked there regularly. World foods section very handy when looking for ingredients. Biggest issue is the regular lack of self scan units, could do with doubling the number. No butcher or fish counter, the meat selection is OK but fresh fish not so.

Ordered through just eat a few items, nearly all the items were missing. I bet the item were on the shelves but the staff are too lazy to get them. Try calling the store only there is no way to speak to someone. Only recieving two items of a £35 order, such incompetence.

Nice & bright atmosphere but the store could do with being updated to be more modern instead of looking like a supermarket out of the 80's.

Horrible experience. Fuel filled for £20.00 but asda taken £99.00 from account. Calling asda Hatfield but not responding. Simply say cheating people through technology.

Friendly, kind, patient and helped me so much this evening as it was my first time using click and collect and I didn't find it easy, long story but i will know next time. The people serving on the self service tills seriously need training in manners and customer service. Had a few problems here with the staff.

Big ASDA with more varieties of almost everything

A shout out to staff in Asda Hatfield I was in there earlier and asked 5 staff different things. Each one of them went out of their way to help me and other customers too. They were all friendly and welcoming including on the self service tils/ security/ shop floor. Their jobs were all busy ..

Asda is a big store located across UK, with everything under one roof at a decent price. You want kitchen wares, toiletries, fresh vegetables, fruits, seasonings, drinks, cosmetics, frozen food, clothings, stationery etc, just pop in with your money.😂 You will find everything you need, items are well displayed with sign posts to lead you to all the sections. No struggle at all. You can do a self service with card or cash or pay at the till assisted. Polite staff. Clean store. I strongly recommend.

You have to take a trolley from home because you will never find a trolley there. You cannot do a proper shopping because of this.

I just visited this store. I was stopped on my way out by charity workers working for Great Ormans street. How dare they stop me and other shoppers. I can't believe ASDA allows their customers to be hassled by these people. Just for reference. That charity brought in £74m last year and the CEO gets paid £160k.

Worst organised ASDA. I am a regular customer for ASDA Hatfield over past 8 years. Even though I like Tesco slightly better, I prefer to go to ASDA because it is near by. But recent months, things are unorganised; every week items locations are getting changed, I don't find shopping trollies, because of that I had to cut short my shopping list to a few, and mostly hand-held scanners not available. Also in self check out , short of support staff, waiting for quite long and making my experience very bad.

I hope you will be getting trollies in for when the Uni students are back. What is the guy collecting them doing with his time, there's nothing for him to do as the customers are covering it for him so they can shop !!!??

When the first 3 things you want aren't there at 13.30 on a Friday, you walk out. As you walk out you realise just what a Steaming Heap Infused Tip HOLE it is. Feb 2023. Worse. Sept 2023. It gets worse and worse. Owned run and managed by people who couldn't care less.

When is the Asda today? Only to cash scan and go. There were only two working arrest record. The left-hand side is card and cash and right hand side should be card.

I had my groceries delivered today. The delivery driver was Rumel - I found him to be such a lovely, kind considerate gentleman. He apologised for the undue delay and helped me pack my groceries in my bags at just the right weight for easy carrying. He was lovely and is a true star and asset to your Company. Asda used to be a decent store, but after they install those face recognition cameras on checkouts, in which no one seems to have a clue about where the data goes, things gone down the wrong road. Nowadays Asda have poor stock, unhelpful staff, filthy toilets. It is disgraceful

How many months do you need to bring shopping plastic bags for customers? Out of stock on products for long time. Printers on fruits and vegetables most of the time don’t work as no one puts labels on them. No green baskets for customers. I visited Asda store Hatfield yesterday, oh my God! the toilet was completely bad! Very dirty to the core! I have never seen a toilet like that all my life. It is the most horrible and filthy public toilet I have ever seen! And to think that this is how I always meet it is the worst thing. Everywhere was so dirty, there was no tissue, the toilet wasn’t flushing and so on. It was as if it hasn’t been cleaned for the last one week! Another thing is that the doors are always very strong and hard to open and you have to push with your body and whole strength. Asda Hatfield stores is a very big shopping centre and has a very high number of customers. I believe they should do better than this. I believe they have the capacity and ability to create/make their toilets a very comfortable place for their numerous customers. What made my experience even worse was when I asked a staff that came in at that time why the toilet is always very dirty, she said to me “ yes we know that, and it is because our customers are bad and they treat us badly”. Like seriously??? I can’t believe this. I am highly disappointed. I wish the was a minus zero star, I wouldn’t have given this one star! I just opened the goods I bought from asda stores and noticed that these peppers are bad, and to think that I really took out time to select this one at the store out of numerous ones that were really rotten and gushing out water is really annoying! How can you be displaying routen, in order words expired vegetables? It's disgusting. I don't use my peppers at once and so this is going to be money wasted all thanks to asda Hatfield!

That Roger guy at customer service is so rude ? Many times now I see him try and not to serve people ? he is lazy and rather make out he is busy ? rather then serve customers. When I see him when queuing up I just hope I get when my time comes I get the other staff who are so helpful and friendly . That Roger needs to get another job as he not a people person

I went to the Pharmacy to get some advice, I waiting just a few minutes and when she came out she decided to ask me about the issue while stood right next to another customer which was very uncomfortable for both me and the other customer. The Pharmacist could have taken me to a different area to discuss the issue but she didn’t seem interested at all and I was very disappointed. I would also like to point out that the toilets next to the Pharmacy were extremely unclean and the cubicle I went into had the seat missing which isn’t acceptable.

That's the only place I go to do my shopping. The prices are very, I don't like to go from one shop to another, so for me it's reasonable. I can find all the things that are needed.

Worst Asda I have ever went into, bad costumer service avoid if you can workers are nasty towards costumers especially the older workers
