Visited the pharmacy today Saturday 6th October 2024 . The girl was very rude who served me. Won't be using this store again

A poor old lady was wrongly accused of stealing yesterday and bullied by management. Unsure if this was also racism?? The lady volunteered her shopping to be checked and was visibly shaken. I often see this lady shopping and regular customer of over 30 years, manager was awful with her and heard her say to the lady that “ it’s not like they said you were stealing , just said you hadn’t paid “ Someone needs to educate the manager that is the same accusation ! This manager represents Asda & bad role model to other staff

The underground parking is an unnecessarily difficult place to park your car, due to the design of columns, the space is not being used efficiently. The shop itself, however, services nicely and big enough to find whatever is needed.

Their grocery collection is useless, they always have trouble and it seems they don’t want to work?!? I have notification to come and collect and they say you can cancel or wait for a long time why would I cancel?. This is not happening first as well always have some another trouble always regret after shop in here.

Customer relations manager is rude, patronising, condescending and unhelpful. I will not visit this store again. I paid for my shopping, the money left my bank account and was advised that my money was in a cloud and may return to my bank in a few days. She then expected me to pay again. Who has a spare £93.65 to just floating about to pay again!

Came for breakfast, no toast on breakfast like wtf! Cooked tomato still raw no black pudding. To top it off paper plates and wooden cuttlery, i know thornabys rough but jesus thats too far! Broke 6 knives just trying to cut my overly crispy bacon.

We went to the cafe with grandkids for lunch. They only had a few scratty bits of bacon. No eggs at all. No pasta fir the kids and ended up with chicken nugget meal which was dreadful. There was nothing for my wife and I to eat do we didnt even bother with a drink as we were so disgusted. It was a better cafe prior to changing it to pizzas and hotdogs. They'd forgotten to put baked potatoes on. Unless it reverts to a proper cafe we will not be taking our custom there ever again and the price is disgusting for such poor food.

Pharmacy staff are absolutely useless. Sometimes waiting at the desk with absolutely no one checking if there are customers waiting and some staff can be very abrupt and not helpful

Where do I start.. Asda, PURE GREED! They harp on like they are helping with the cost of living, yet they keep slipping their diesel prices up by a penny every other day hoping you won't notice. The wholesale prices have not increased, yet the pump price has? Greed! You can drive to the A171 rural road and pay less than at a supermarket! How? Sainsbury whitby £1.38 a litre last week, yet in Stockton in £1.51. I'm just so sick of the supermarkets ripping us off. Wether at the pump, or on the isles. They dont just put the costs up by penny's, it's 20p here and 50p there, then telling you they are helping you. ROBBERS all of them.. Shareholders are raking it in while consumers are struggling to feed their families. Shame on you Asda.. Your ads should show your Shareholders with their hands in a drivers back pocket instead of a woman smacking her backside.

My husband and myself attended for breakfast, there was no menu displayed for breakfast so I ordered to full breakfast this didn't come with toast or drink so ordered these as well. I was in shock when it cost £20.20. It was made worse by fact everything was either paper cup or plate and wooden cutlery. Food arrived on a small paper plate, food was cold, tomato and blackpudding raw bacon had been trimmed so although you received 2 slices there was only really one and it was tough. I ended up leaving mine as was inedible. Shocking price, service and very poor quality Avoid at all cost

Khazina hope I spelt her name right was a star yesterday when I visited. I was struggling with App and couldn't remember password so she helped me get in and use it to get a discount on first shop. Gave me a tip too, take a screenshot of 'code' tto be able to use Rewards App easily in future (it regularly asks for password to open App) and technology is not my asset. Well done Khazina, great customer support xx

On Sunday 19th November, I visited to buy some pizza. Despite the store being open until 4pm, the pizza counter was closed at 2:28pm, and had clearly been shut for some time. I can't think of any reasonable explanation for this, other than stock issue, or staff wanting to close early. Needing pizza for a movie night, I drive a few miles to the Portrack store. The pizza counter was open and operating normally. Anyway, the Thornaby store definitely feels a little tired, and requires a makeover. Finally, the endless offers and price changes are immensely irritating, why not just charge reasonable prices consistently? This is the reason why over 50% of my grocery shopping is done at Lidl or Aldi now, when I used to shop exclusively at Asda. Just a poor, outdated retail model now.

Never have stock, ordered online for a few weeks and constantly substituting simple things but not even with actual substitutes.... mince for burgers salad for rocket :S don't have peanut butter don't have tomatoes dont have basil every single week.. I don't suggest you order online from this store Just want to add I'm still ordering online and this week is by far the worst I won't shop here ever again today they can't even substitute tea! From my 50 pound shop I have about 7 items missing why am I paying you

Asda need to stop carrying bags about with them its not fsir on people who have anxiety snd dont like talking to people or if ur in a rush for a meeting slowing down people and ques pathetic and selfish

Beware of ordering "Express" Home Delivery [Currently GOPHR]: my last two deliveries by these have had items missing, and Asda have refused any refund. The worst was a total of £15-worth on one delivery. Asda's attitude seems to be "We say it was delivered, if you disagree then you are either not truthful or accusing the drivers of something". Either way, it sucks as P.R.! Oddly, the own-van [Asda liveried] deliveries have always been spot-on. Odd?

Poor customer services skills got asked i.d for energy drink when im regulary in there and never been asked be4 women asked if ihad i.d said no said no sorry cant serve me then but yet i have tattoos so i must be old enough to have enough energy drink baffles me hos u can reject some one who has tattoos only people over 16 18 can get tattoos and some people domt like carrying i.d on them incase they lose it plus ur staff need to start asking more as its the first time ive been asked in over a year of living in thornaby

I ordered a jacket potatoe and bowl of soup,15 minutes later I went to cancel but I saw,a girl with the soup in her hand, asked if it was mine said yes. I said could you possibly hurry up another 5 minutes went by and it arrived. I did say the cafe would benefit from better service to which she retired I can't be arsed. Well that says it all

Not enough checkouts open. And all though it advertises roll back costs. Products are still dearer than when i last brought them

A reasonable supermarket. It does sometimes feel cluttered. I like the fact that it is not too large. When my daughter and I were queuing to use the self checkout, a member of staff walked past complaining about another customer .. referring to her as a 'stupid sod' which I feel was uncalled for and unnecessary. I use this store for convenience. I would not particularly recommend this branch of Asda as I feel that it is often quite shoddy.

Just had breakfast here, take my advice..dont bother. Served on paper plates, wooden cutlery, 2 eggs (hard) black pudding (rock hard) tomato (cold) quality of rest very poor. 1st and last time. Gave 2 stars cause staff were really nice.

Helpful staff, but do not enjoy being taken preference over online customers/shopping staff, choosing customer items and taking up space in front of the shelves with their multiple boxes. As an in-store customer you have to negotiate your way to the shelves with difficulty.

The fact that you have to ask for the key to access the baby change is massively unpractical when you need to change a nappy in a rush

Lots of variety and the reduced section is always well stocked. Good place to get your weekly or monthly shop and to pick up a treat for yourself too!

Dirty environment, greasy smears all over, coffee machines a mess. Staff have a bad attitude and are slower than snails. No condiments available with a meal purchase, all must be purchased separately. Nothing states this at point of purchase so had to re queue for ketchup! And by the time I got to the till for sauce, my food was almost cold. Shocking service.

The shop is a no go zone as soon as it gets dark as all the local yobbos and wannabe gangsters like to hang around outside, in the underground car park or walk around the shop strutting their stuff walking around like they have a stone caught in their shoe. Store itself is ok, if not quite dated, and it serves the community well, yet security are ran ragged in here due to petty crime and lately it's been impossible to get hold of a basket or a trolley. Prices have been incorrect on the shelves of a few items too.

Lots of different products. Small cafe. Lady's,Gents and Children's clothes. Full range of foods, vegetables fresh breads from in store bakery. Lots of other things get in store to check and buy.

Very poor service in collection point every time I come here I need to wait for minimum 20 minutes i don’t know why ? One of the ASDA employe will come and ask the name after that he don’t appear we need to knock the back door after waiting for 30 minutes no one answers the call if we call very very poor service I never seen any ASDA collection point I won’t remember the order number because I have cancel the order after waiting long time if possible try to delivery our item on time in collection point or else if you don’t want to make business please shut down your systems like Uber eats etc thanks don’t eats our time 🙏🏻

Well first and last time Ordered breakfast and specifically asked for it on a plate ( plenty of them stacked up on counter ) as other people appeared to be getting it in polystyrene trays. Food arrived eventually items slopped on top of each other in a a polystyrene tray with contents missing (ash brown) I never complain but this I wouldn’t feed to my dog visually disgusting taste was no better either for the price I was shocked

Went here for breakfast and a coffee while we where out shopping, breakfast £6.75 came on a paper plate with wooden cutlery, black pudding hadn’t even seen a grill. I wouldn’t serve this to my dog, embarrassing. Coffee wasn’t even drinkable And cost me £26 for 3 breakfasts and 3 drinks, should of went to a pub. Stay clear of this place..

To many idioys and gangs hanging around snd to many kids running around in store puts u off shopping in there the guards arr just sat there doing nout when there sat running in and out of the shops and gangs on bikes out the front and people looming at them shaking there head puts u ogf wanting to go into asda and now there limmiting things again to 3 per custmer when people need to bulk by to save money when asda should have orderd the right amount of stock in advance they new this would happen they can get xmas stock in but yet dont limit that hmmmmm says it all

Went into the cafe, it was shocking, more like a kids play area, kids running all over and the staff did nothing, WILL NOT BE GOING BACK

Not enough people working on tills instead keep getting asked by staff "do you want to use the self checkout?" Answer.... No ! That's why I'm standing in the long queue. If you want to be helpful.... put more people on the 8 closed tills !!! After Tashas response of taking customer service seriously.... just returned from asda for the last time, 2 people working on the tills and massive queues. Looks like I'll be shopping elsewhere in the future

Decided to stop for a bit of lunch it’s only just after 2pm.. cheeseburger was as dry as sticks and my panini with chicken and pesto ?? 2 small bits of chicken and the “ panini” was a crusty baguette overdone . Needless to say we won’t be back!!!

Really good supermarket with a good range and selection - a good size store, but not too big. Great for disabled access, with easy parking underneath the store and a lift that takes you straight into the entrance. My only criticism is their Free From range seems very popular and lines are often out of stock - we have to go back a few times to get something, then we buy several at once to "stock up". Otherwise, a great supermarket with a very good clothing and homeware section too. There is also a small pharmacy and an Asda opticians.

I walked in and because I am ginger apparently the staff didn't like that, so they asked me to leave. Sad day for gingers. Maybe I should of worn a hat.... no scrap that hats are too suspicious.

Poor treatment of customers by staff

This store stands out for victimising a local care worker as staff didn't like the way he shopped. It's in all the national and regional papers. Why not try shopping at Aldi and Lidl and give the stuck up staff at Asda an empty store. They will be sorry when there are redundancies.

Don't shop here. If you wear a hat they will kick you out for looking "suspicious".

Booked an appointment to have my glasses adjusted after they had been distorted. I had an early appointment, so was the only person in there. Not only did the frame get straightened, but the arms were adjusted so they now fit a little bit better and don't drop off quite as easily

Putting prices up from 25% to 50% it's not right people are struggling to pay their bills and rent I think it's .not right people should boycott all stores

I visited Asda in thornaby to get shopping for my parents. I dont usually shop in Asda thornaby but my parents live in Thornaby so decided to go here. Of all the stores , even Asda stores that I have been too have I ever experienced a rude and unhelpful check out agent in my life. She was rude when I asked her if she could just put my shopping through a little slower so they didnt pile up at then , its stressful enough shopping in this current covid situation without a checkout person deliberately rushing them through when you have asked if they could slow down a little until I had put them all on the conveyor belt. Even when I started packing them , she threw a bag of potatoes at me!! I told her that her behaviour and verbal rudeness was not acceptable and she continued to say to me your attitude stinks too! I asked for her manager and she said go to customer services. This lady was the rudest person I have ever encountered and she should be repromanded for her actions. How did she know that I wasnt a mystery shopper! I finally got to speak to her manager who you could totally tell that they were friends and the check out lady just sat and grinned. Nothing would have come of this it was obvious from her managers expression but my parents or I will never shop in thornaby again and I hope the store manager reads this because they seriously need to look at who they are employing !

I cannot praise this store enough. I am an over 70's 'shielder' and was recently concerned about a home delivery that was late. I rang to express my concerns and was told that they would contact the store to find out what had happened. I was contacted immediately by Helen from the store and explained the circumstances of a 'poorly' van, but my delivery would definitely arrive. No sooner had I put the phone down, the shopping arrived. ASDA have never let me down! I would like them to know I am really appreciative of the excellent customer service, a service second to none. Thanks to all involved.

Shelves are always empty pretty annoying because I have no the time to go every day .

Went shopping here at around 5pm. Nothing but trouble with rowdy teenagers ruining the shopping experience. The asda staff don't even do anything to stop them. Going elsewhere next time. Was too ridiculous.

I bought a chicken crown for Christmas dinner but wen I went to cook it on Christmas day it was way out of date our Christmas dinner was ruined and we had to have breaded chicken with our dinner

A year or two ago this Asda café had a makeover which included a total change in the food on offer. Everything also moved on to disposable everything including the cups for your coffee! OK, I don't mind a paper cup for my coffee but the change in menu from some very reasonable hot meals to sausage/bacon baps or a pizza was a retrograde step in my view. I now only have a coffee if I feel in the need & maybe a bacon bap as I shop very early on the morning but otherwise I go elsewhere.

Incredible value, perfectly good breakfast! The pizzas are as good as any restaurant and sooo cheap! Definitely an option as the cheapest pizza takeaway!

since asda cafe has put up the price of a coffee /now you have too pay an extra 25p for your cup and lid on top of the price of your coffee iv stopped going there ,that is just a ridiculas thing to do .they will be making you pay for your paper plate and knife and fork next ,

Well, it's a nice enough shop. Just needs more food choices on their cafe menu. You're not going to get more customers by providing less choice.

Visited here with the kids and my mum whilst on a visit over there. Definately value for money. Pizza slices 1.50 hotdogs 1.50 drinks 1. Pizzas constantly cooked fresh and even able to take out full pizzas. Family meal deal for 10 quid is fab getting a 16 inch pizza 2 fries and 4 soft drinks. Or 16 inch pizza for 6 quid. Food lovely staff friendly and working their socks off.

Very rude staff, trolley collectors X 3 face tripping them up. Afraid of hard work, if ur cant hack it, go home!! Plenty if people would be grateful of a job.

Check use by dates carefully. More and more products are short dated and some even past. Update 26 April 2018. Went in today (only because FiL insists on it) to find Asda has taken advantage of the NHS prescription changes to whack the price of paracetamol up by 30% from 19p to 25p. Not surprised, seems typical Asda.

Went shopping bought food got enoyed by so many people not knowing how to use an exit....your not supposed to stop and chat in them!

The store itself was not to bad, although I find the protrack store much better in layout and staff. Went to the cafe, choice was lacking the woman who served us appeared and sounded miserable, handled money then food items. Didn't do a simple thing like chips and gravy as no longer serve gravy. Bacon bun was laughable two rashers of bacon in the smallest bun I've ever seen. Should left the cafe how it was. Upside was microwave available which, is helpful for baby food etc. Toilets available although not greatly advertised.

I do not like new layout of store I was in their this morning to shop their was lines right way down bakery end of store get the checkout and put fast scans I don’t think this was good idea like the way their change the cafe to American fast food chain I love old style breakfast.

The restaurant is not as good as it was years ago variety on the menu is simple but cheap,shopping in store is polite & friendly staff always happy to help but BEWARE if shopping online from this store,orders are never right always something missing & the pick & pack staff are a nightmare,who puts all your tins on top of your eggs & you pay for bags but its far easier for them to just throw them in the crates,asked to speak to store manager to be told unavailable but someone else in charge reassured me it wont happen again & guess what................nothings changed.

Well set out store...fairly large in size... however if youre looking for george items you may find Portrack store has more choice.

This supermarket has lots of types of food . Excellent if your looking for any drinks also

Asda is a supermarket with ever changing prices. I still cannot understand why we have to buy 3 packets of multi crisps to get them for a £1.00 a packet. It's ludicrous

Staying in area called at AsdA for fuel and checked store out.Excellent cafe very cheap prices by today's standards.Breakfast bap,s £1,small breakfast £2.50 and hot drinks £1 & £1.50

is it policy to put frozen food in with cooked food ,i asked for a clear bag to put a half hot cooked chicken in i was refused at the checkout and had to put hot food in with frozen food ,what is the policy ?

Great place to shop and get a snack...always pleasant staff and friendly, I have moved but still shop at the Thornaby store.

Since the refurbishment,the cafe has gone down hill staff aint friendly & hardly at the tills they rather b talking rather than serving the customers,as a qeue builds up. The food is just junk food,no salads like used to be with many choices now its justpizzas,burgers etc. The atmosphere is shallow & cold rather warm and friendly like it used to be. No wonder theres anyone in. A waste builds up more with the use of paper plate/cups. The uniform is lame. I rather goto the pavilion for food&drink.

Never again would i go to asda in thornaby appaling treatment from blonde lady staff i said i needed to go to cash machine for more money and i was in the middle of my transaction she said its ok when i came back it said i owed more money i queried it with her and she said she had cancelled my transaction i said what about 30 pound i had paid she said have you took it out of dispenser i said no she then checked the reciept to see if i had put £30 in that was nice of her no trust must be calling me a liar she then went on to say some one must of took the money i said why would you cancel it while i was at the cash machine outside what a night mare another staff came along pressed a button and my momey came back on screen every one was looking at me appaling treatment felt like asking for a refund absolutely stressed out and very unhappy

Sunday dinner was package food.

I like the cafe now, it's simple but effective. The foods cheap enough and nice enough. The kids pizza and a drink is only £1 and everything else is between £1 to £1.50, little more for meal deals, pizzas really nice too.

Very pleasant afternoon shopping in Asda Thornaby. Rob at the checkout smilling pleasant quick and helpful. Which was much appreciated when shopping with daughter and crying grandson.
