Artisan Restaurant in Eastbourne

We are 3 friends week at view hotel, went into artisan cafe ,bland grey cold absolutely no atmosphere, i wanted to get sandwiches from m&s etc, but heavy rain, my friend ordered, 3 sandwiches cheese chutny , 2 ham , my sandwich had hardly any chutny ,was stale bread, with pink coldslaw ,tortiller crisps i did not eat it , my friends said ham was ok ,£30 nearly. Waited long time for them ,wanted sausage rolls ,but even though was cold wet day no manager thought ahead that more will be in cafe, so DID NOT COOK ANY SAUSAGE ROLLS, they are hoteliers yes ,the whole lounge, is bland grey no artificial log fires etc, seating very LOW unsuitable for elderley which is most of view hotel guests, we have decided not to return to view hotel.

We went to this restaurant for our last night’s of the holiday as it looked good and the reviews look ok. What a disappointment. We ordered steak and burgers. We had to wait almost 50 mins for the food. Steak was cold and over cooked the burger was very dry, they ran out of onions rings on a Friday night. We sent back the steak and the replacement was no better. A very disappointed experience and all the managers could do was say sorry. When you are spending £129 sorry dose not cut it. We won’t be going back.

Absolutely enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The atmosphere is very classy and food is delicious. Restaurant manager Liam and waitress Gemma are fabulous, we will definitely be back

My captain invited me to select a restaurant. I looked at reviews and thought I was onto a cert! However seafood and steaks, as mentioned in reviews were not on the menu.. we were disappointed with the offering and left without ordering. Location superb but had I been on a date, I would have been embarrassed with my choice.

(Visited on December 31, 2023) Hotel breakfast buffet. Today we also had the ``American Breakfast''. The next morning after staying at the hotel The View Hotel Eastbourne. This time, our accommodation plan did not include breakfast, but at the request of my son, who was completely in love with American breakfasts, we decided to have the hotel's breakfast buffet. The breakfast buffet starts at 8am. It's quite late. We arrived in front of the restaurant at 7:55 and waited until it opened at exactly 8:00. We were told that if we bought the breakfast buffet on the spot it would cost 12.95 UK pounds per person. Credit card payment on the spot (JCB touch payment was available). The payment amount was 25.90 UK pounds + 4.32 UK pounds tax, for a total of 30.22 UK pounds. According to the MyJCB notification, it was 4740 yen in Japanese yen. The content of ``American Breakfast'' is like a stamp, so there is nothing special to note. Every dish was absolutely delicious. We took seats near the food area so that it was easy to grab our food, but all the local British customers were taking seats by the window. There were probably about 7 to 8 groups of customers in the store at the most. I was able to have a leisurely breakfast. My son seemed satisfied. It was good. Thank you for the meal.

Amazing restaurant with great service. Totally worth going, will Surely visit again.

Let down by another venue. This was a last minute find on google. Looked good online. Exceeded expectations. Anniversary dinner so it had to be a good one. This really was. Food was delicious great value. Very filling. Location was really nice. We have booked a stay at the hotel on the back of this experience. Pauline made the atmosphere relaxed and full of good humour. Could become one of our go to places in Eastbourne. Very allergy aware as well.

Didn't get to eat here because we tried to book for 8.45pm on a Tuesday evening. The online booking was confirmed and subsequently cancelled without explanation, despite the advertised closing time of 10pm. When we popped in on the way past, at 8.30pm we asked if we could eat and just got a strange shake of the head from the person on the desk, who had a sign behind them saying the restaurant was open until 10. At least they could have explained why in a somewhat friendly manner.

My daughter and l had Christmas lunch here this year, what a superb experience for first time eating out for Christmas day,the food was excellent the staff were so friendly and could nt do enough for us, the whole experience made it one of our best Christmas days to date ,would highly recommend ,a big thank you to you all

Wonderful place, delicious Sunday roast and amazing view

Went for lunch, food was sub-par and overpriced, service was wanting (15m wait just to be seen, food took extremely long for basic vegetable sweet chilli wrap, hardly any chilli or flavour. Staff loitering around each other whilst we can see other customers waiting...wasn't even busy). Only thing that my partner enjoyed was the 2 different cocktails she had, both surprisingly good considering the experience we had.

Hotel restaurant, but the meals are of the highest standard. Very quick service and food served quickly. Everything was delicious, I definitely recommend it. An additional advantage is the view from the window :) A small note: the restaurant is located on the first floor and I didn't see any signs at the entrance.

Fantastic restaurant addition to Eastbourne. Amazing views, fantastic service and delicious, reasonably priced menu. Our scallops were melt-in-the-mouth delicious and the steaks done to perfection.Complements the downstairs bar perfectly.
