Art Cafe in Fife

Lunch here was delicious. I have been before, this time a friend came and commented it was the best macaroni and cheese he has had! Service is delightful. Toilets are immaculate

service was slow, food took over 40 minutes to come out and people who came in after us got food before us. panini/cheese was barely melted and pretty cold, food was average

Service was a little slow, possibly because only one person waiting on tables & another making drinks. Wasn't a hassle having to wait.

I have been to the Art Cafe on several occasions. The food is really good, all freshly prepared. The service is prompt and they check on you often to see if you need anything. It's a small space, not a large amount of tables, booking would be a best as sometimes it is very busy. But I have walked in a few times and there has always been a table. Highly recommended this cafe for lunch or even just tea and cake. A good selection of cakes and quite large portions.

Excellent find when trying to find breakfast after a night's stay in nearby travelodge. Really friendly welcome, great service and delicious food for our family group of 6. Thank you!

Visiting friends in Glenrothes and The Art Cafe was our meet up point. All was first class from start to finish. The staff were so efficient and friendly and the place was spotless. It was busy and that's a good sign. Thank you all.

1 fan in the cafe I was put in a corner on 1 of the hottest days took at least 15 mins for my order to be taken but the staff were so friendly and the food was amazing so will definitely be back xx

The Art Cafe is a great cafe. Service always great. Food also tasty and hot. Interesting place with lots of paintings & pictures etc. Definately recommend.

Food was good but service was really poor. Surly teenage girl asked about reservation then showed us to a table, took 20 mins to come to table to take our order (other groups walked out tired of waiting). When the same girl took our order she was clearly in a bad mood and responded with 'Thats fine'. Given that it was lunchtime on a Saturday it was obvious that there were not enough people working there. Shame, as the setting is lovely and the food was good.

New to this wee gem. Food is amazing and well presented , cake selection to die for. Very clean, staff are friendly and polite. Well worth a visit.

We popped in for a little lunch while we waiting on our car service, this was just an off the cuff call but this was recommended by a friend. Myself had a tuna mayonnaise baguette with salad and My wife had a cheese and ham toastie. The baguette was ultra soft and the flavour from the tuna salad was lovely, fresh and light l. The toastie wasn't dry lovely and moist and our coffee was amazing l would recommend to abody local to visit.

Fantastic service and great food. We were welcomed and seated and kept updated really nicely with what was happening and where our food was. All the staff were happy, polite and cheery. The ambiance is light and friendly and the menu varied and of quality.

A hidden gem. Well worth the effort to find it. Not much parking space.

I enjoyed going to Robertson's Fine Art Interiors which, although off the beaten path - but not too far off it, is well worth a visit. I had intended going to the Art Cafe for lunch, not realising that it was part of this emporium. So, when I arrived what happened? Well, the cafe staff were superb the venue was controlled, service was very slick, tables were distanced, cleaned regularly and the menu had sufficient variety to enjoy a bite to eat. I'm sorry I don't know the names of the staff members, but thanks to the two staff who served me one with blonde hair and the other with red hair, you really are good at your job! I particularly enjoyed that the cafe had many of the paintings they sell on display, it presents a pleasing view and further talking points. After lunch I went into the shop, it used to be in Glenrothes town centre before and has relocated to Newark Rd in the Eastfield Business Park. While it's not a huge shop there is a more than ample selection of art products, great pictures, fancy goods and many other items. The prices are what I would expect to pay and again the service was excellent. Gordon Robertson served me and took the time to engage in an open and amiable manner whilst being incredibly good at the service. I know you'd expect that from a Robertson but believe me it's not a given! So will I go back again? Yes, yes, yes! It's a great lunch cafe and the shop will take some of my hard earned resources!👍

...my Mum and I loved our Soup / Sandwich combo. The Lentil soup had chunks which is how I like it. The art on show was amazing, I’m assuming this will change as it is bought. Well recommended.

A real shocker, never knew it was here. A really amazing collection of for sale artwork covers the walls. The cafes food was really good, cake and sandwichs along with tea. Will definitely let people know about this hidden little gem.

Very clean and lovely place. Food is very good with quick and polite service, nothing seemed to be a problem for the staff. We arrived for lunch but breakfast is on the agenda for next time. Prices reasonable and won't break the bank.

This was our first visit here and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is at the rear of an art shop. It was very tastefully decorated. They had a lovely lunch menu but we settled for coffee and their delicious homemade scones. The service from the staff was excellent and very friendly. I would highly recommend and will be making a return visit

Staff were pleasant, coffee was fine, cheese cake ok, but lacking texture and taste. Seating area a bit crowded. Artwork overkill.

Clean, bright, comfortable café with artwork on the walls. Food was excellent, beautifully flavoursome latte, generous teapot and polite, friendly yet unobtrusive staff. Cakes appeared home baked and looked delicious but we couldn't manage one after the generous portions for lunch! We'll be back for afternoon tea at some other time to do further research! 😀😋

Beautiful place very fresh and elegant, we were there for breakfast and greeted politely by the receptionist and waitress, my husband had bruschetta with tomato and poached egg and I went for the full monty although you only get to choose 5 items and it is literally one of each so not so much of a full monty breakfast and only one slice of toast, everything was fresh and hot but I left still hungry, my husband ate his but didn’t really enjoy it he said the bruschetta was soggy due to it being drowned in garlic oil for some reason. Wouldn’t discourage me from returning but I think I would only go back to try the cakes as they do look amazing.

There is an excellent atmosphere to compliment the fantastic food in this restaurant. It has to be the best cream scone I have ever tasted. All the food is so fresh and well presented by friendly staff. We now make a point of going every week.

Had a fab brunch here with my friend. The food was perfect - I had the eggs benedict and my friend had the pancakes. The service was quick and the staff efficient and friendly. Lovely wee hidden gem, surrounded by some fab artwork. We couldn't leave without taking some of the cakes with us as well which were very tasty! Would definitely recommend for breakfast/brunch.

I was a bit disappointed for the first time ever, despite regular visits. Service was slow considering how quiet the cafe was. The food was nice but I think the portions are reducing. Improving the toilets must be a priority; they let down the clean bright look of the rest of the cafe.

My granddaughter is coeliac and it can be hard to find somewhere that is really safe. We visited this café today and it was fantastic. They are really careful and even checked the crisps at our request to make sure they were safe. Their menu for coeliacs is quite big with a good selection. I am not coeliac and I picked the roast beef with trimmings and it was fabulous my only complaint was that my plate could have been bigger to accommodate all the food on it. This is a gem of a place and judging by the amount of people who were in today a very popular one booking might be advisable. They now have a vegan selection

Visited with group of friends for lunch (pre booked for 1pm). Lovely menu with a decent variety of options. Sadly no baked potatoes left but plenty of other choices. Our only complaint was we were directly at the cake stand and the noise was awful - especially when the glass lids were being battered back onto the cakes. One of my friends jumped with fright and ended up spilling all her coffee.

I have been to the art café numerous times over the last few months, often to pick up some soup for lunch, very nice, decided to stop in with my wife for a spot of breakfast. Not a bad selection, wife opted for pancakes and I went all in for the breakfast, nicely done without overloading the plate with extra and un-necessary items.

Superb, art work varies on each visit, all to a high standard, framing I would highly recommend and would not go anywhere else. Staff courteous helpfull and a credit to the owner. Food offers superb quality choice,quality all round cant be faulted. 5 stars well earned in my opinion.

Had a fantastic afternoon tea thanks to my niece for myself and her mum on mothers day. The food was delicious from the sandwiches to the cream cakes and also a wee glass or two of prosecco, definitely will be back as this is a wee hidden gem.

The food was good,waitresses very helpful and cheery. Seating very light and airy and enough space between tables not to hear other people's conversation or knock people when rising. I will be back. 😛🍴

My friend kindly got us fruit scones to take away and were excellent, and came with butter and jam. I would go there myself now!

Very enjoyable food and not somewhere you will trip over given its location but is well worth the detour. Freshly prepared food so it's not fast food but so worth the wait and the cakes on offer ..........

Booked a table. Was a quick lunch as time was precious. 3 booths , 2 of which were free when we arrived. The other had 2 elderly people sitting eating soup. My friend didn't want to sit beside the middle as customers walked past , so I asked for a booth, to be told they were kept reserved for afternoon teas. There were 3 of us .Waitress(Manager? ) had been overheard telling the girl to tell us that. I was told a party would be there for that table in 20 mins. Elderly folk quite clearly NOT having Afternoon Tea. When I pointed this out, was told that only 1 booth is kept reserved ...surely we could have sat at the other one as these phantom customers had still not arrived 50 mins later . When I pointed this out, the Manager??...she was clearly lost for words to explain this , said they would be there in 10 mins ( which they were not as we timed it ), got shirty with me and said she didn't like the way I spoke to her. I didn't like the way I was fobbed off with excuses...the afternoon tea customers were clearly not going to arrive..bad day? Clearly took it personally which it was not. I just like to know what's what. Won't be back..shame cos food was ok. Warning...if you want a booth...mention it when you book..or go elsewhere. I can recommend plenty of great welcoming olaces nearby.

Bright, modern, tastefully designed art cafe on outskirts of town

I would recommend this art care. The coffee was simply the best ive tasted in a long time and the gingerbread was very good as well. All of which at a very reasonable price.

De passage à Glenrothes j'ai été invité dans ce restaurant. La devanture ? un magasin ou une galerie d'art, de vente de produits de décoration raffinés. L'arrière de la galerie ... le restaurant. Si on ne sait pas on le loupe ! Pour un repas léger constitué de sandwiches de 'black pudding' assez différent de notre boudin noir, moins gras, plus goûté, entre deux tranches de pain le tout bien applati par la machine de cuisson. Une découverte gustative et visuelle !

Wonderful presentation and delicious selection of dainty sandwiches, pastries, scones and cakes. All served in a black wooden frame. Very unusual but great. Cook, staff and location all to be recommended although car parking can be awkward - no fault of the cafe.

Well earned 5 stars from me as everything here is spot on, delicious coffee, lovely and extremely helpful staff, food to die for and lovely atmosphere. You don’t get many places around here with any of the above but The Art Cafe ticks all those boxes! Highly recommended.

Second visit here and a very pleasant experience t was. Set at the rear of an art gallery, the cafe area has grown since my last visit and the coffee and cake was just as tasty. Friendly service as well.

Excellent cakes .Lovely little cafe

We come here most Saturdays for breakfast and for brunch on some other days. The cafe is lovely. Everyone who works there is so friendly and can’t do enough to help. I am disabled and access is easy as it is all on one level. The food is always really well cooked and there is plenty choice. The home baking is just delicious! Excellent value for money and a lovely relaxing place to go.

I love to go Heree where tasty bites and meals are on offer. The scones here are sublime - best I have tasted - always different combinations on offer and the jam is to die for. All the cakes, scones, jams and soups here are home made and you would have to go a long way to find better. Along with the food the art within the premises is eclectic and worth the visit - I rarely leave without making a purchase from the gallery where you can buy fine art as well as smaller gifts or treats for yourself. A lovely place to spend a couple of hours.
