Arroy Thai Restaurant in Halton

Can’t fault this Restraunt absolutely stunning food great atmosphere and service. We loved every course from starter main and desserts. We will be returning with all the family during the middle of November for a birthday celebration. I would recommend Arroy Thai to anyone there’s something for all tastes. Overall experience was excellent from food, drinks, service and setting love it can’t praise enough.

Had a lovely meal at the Arroy Thai restaurant in Widnes tonight with my wife and grandson. We had a sharing platter for starters followed by pad thai & red curry mains with sticky rice, the portions were ample and the food was tasty the guys who I think are the owner were very friendly and attentive at the moment they are also offering free drinks as a promotion which they didn’t advertise and we had 3 Budweisers plus a Diet Coke and glass of wine which was a pleasant surprise when a very reasonable bill turned up.

I have been twice in the last 12 months Had to walk out due to service taking 2 hours then friends wanted to try it for a takeaway last night 2 hours later still not delivered Never again

Lovely food from a wide choice of Thai starters and mains. Friendly staff with an owner who really cares about his food and that diners really enjoy it. Authentic Thai food with specialist ingredients from Thailand. Generous portions and spiced to order. Gluten free choices.

Don't go !!! Have been so nice food before but I think take over now nothing to compliment!!

Ordered food on a Tuesday night 1 hour 45 minutes for cold bland food to be delivered. Delivery driver was rude ( apparently the owner) . Complained on the phone he hung up 2 times . Avoid to save the disappointment. Will not use again .

Worst food I’ve had ever, and they forgot to include everything, wouldn’t order again.

Food was delicious, very reasonably priced and excellent portions. Service was great, the waitress was very warm and professional and quick to attend to us. Atmosphere was great- candles on the table smelt beautiful. Drinks were VERY reasonable too! Gin and lemonade was £6. Definitely give this place a go. The owner introduced himself at the end of the evening and you could tell he took pride in his restaurant. I have a peanut allergy and was assured the food would be cooked separately and fresh- and it was. We spent £70 for four gin and lemonades (two of them doubles); three starters, two mains and two sides.

Sorry I'm disappointed with this place. It was my first time to try Thai food in th UK, but I didn't like the service, the food and the price.. I cannot recommend this.

We visited here for the first time and we enjoyed our visit. We were welcomed by the staff who were friendly and approachable. When ordering the food we were asked how we would like the level of spiciness and guided us with our selections. The food was delicious from starters to desserts. We felt satisfied and full with our choices. Range of food is great. Prices were good too. We'd highly recommend a place to go for a fantastic meal in a peaceful atmosphere.

My cousin and I have recently visited and from the service to the food, it was delightful. Reasonable prices for stunning Thai cuisine :) Highly recommend.

Staff are very friendly and the food was amazing

Within half an hour of our meal 3 out of the 4 of us had stomach pain and very upset stomachs.

Handling food with bare hands is just disgusting in any restaurant or takeaway. We waited for about 50 minutes for our meal but just before they bring in the food I noticed one of the guys in the kitchen putting our food on a plate with bare hands. Unacceptable and absolutely disgusting.

Ordered food as Takeaway. The corn cakes are completely different from what they used to be, not a single corn kernel was found in the rubbery disks we received. The satay chicken was extremely over cooked. We ordered 4 different curries and none of them tasted the way they used to. All bland and didn’t taste fresh. The meat (chicken and beef) was overcooked in each, though not as badly as the satay. One of our rices was supposed to be coconut rice and there was zero coconut in it. I don’t know what happened, but the food used to be amazing, and now it’s just a disappointment.

Ordered satay chicken bone dry, few crushed peanuts on topic some kind of juice, chicken spring rolls burnt underneath, fried rice was tasteless. Won't be ordering again.

Food was absolutely gorgeous and fresh! Also amazing attentive staff and jolly owner so it was a very friendly atmosphere. The 6 of us all loved our meals and were able to take home the left overs too. Will definitely be coming back and will be recommending it to friends and family. 🍽️☺️

Being a food enthusiast and a lover of Far Eastern and Thai cuisine decided to try Arroy Thai in Widnes out before tagging my friends along. Dined in at 6pm on a Wednesday evening. Met the owner of the shop who was taking my order. I had high hopes at this point since the owner was explaining how passionate he was with Thai food. Ordered a 3 course meal of the special menu when looking at the price I was expecting the food to be top notch. Like most people, I have no issue with prices as long as the food was good. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the quality of the food that was served. It was very poorly made with very little to no taste. Thai food is all about bursting with flavours and enticing those taste buds but sadly nothing was felt. The beef was like rubber to a point were it was almost impossible to swallow. All was left behind including the dessert which tasted awful. The food definitely didn't look or tasted fresh despite the price its asking for. Feedback to the waiter but sadly no one was bothered. I would have been better off going to my local chippy. But hey ho it was worth a try. Unfortunately, cannot recommend this place. This was my first time here and also the last.

Food was delivery so can’t rate atmosphere but very disappointed with the food. Especially for £46 for two to take away. Food had no taste, very bland. Pad Thai tasted of just noodles. Chicken satay was over cooked, I could go on. We have had take a ways from here before, some great and some not so but on this occasion it was very poor and would make me think twice in giving it another chance. Just be warned you may get a bad meal or you may get a good meal, consistency should always be there and it’s not I’m afraid.

Enjoyed the whole experience. The staff was very nice and fun. The foot was tasty. Highly recommended!

Absolutely gorgeous meal tonight at Arroy. Can't understand why the restaurant was so quiet. Everything we ate was really good. Especially the duck with Arroy Thai sauce - beautiful. Very impressed (and I am hard to impress!). If you're thinking of going.. go!

Authentic Thai cuisine, I think not.... not a Thai chef to be seen anywhere. Requested Thai style salad and was informed that it was not on the menu that night the chef obviously didn't know how to prepare it, apparently the other chef was not working being a Monday night ( could the otherchef be actually Thai!!). The cook was a middle aged English man who could not even cook the rice properly..... dry hard rice was served to us. The curry ordered was Panang, but we're served a watery red curry instead with a tiny bit of caffia lime leaf in, completely tastless... we also ordered pad Thai and chicken fried rice for our young son. Every dish was completely tastless, especially the pad Thai. Not enough noodles, scabby vegetables, and no flavour to to pad Thai sauce. I wanted to say something positive about our dining experience so here goes... the fish cakes were OK but I have never had raw shallot in sweet chilli sauce before. £55 Spent on an awful meal.... avoid this restaurant we should have!! My wife is Thai so I have eaten many Thai meals. This meal was shocking avoid at all costs!

Food really wasn’t great or what I’d call Thai. Starters were nice (chicken satay and sweet corn cakes) but the mains (duck pad Thai and Thai chicken fried rice) were just stuffed with veg - many that weren’t listed on the ingredients including lettuce and shredded carrots cooked into the fried rice. We politely informed the waitress when asked if everything was ok as we each left more than half of the food. They said that they would tell the kitchen for next time but we were still charged in full and will not be returning or recommending

Food was really nice, portions were really good and staff were friendly and chatty, couldn't have asked for much more from our visit and would come again My only minor quirm was it would have been nice to have been told about the 3 course menu for £14.99 thats displayed outside (not that we would have necessarily went for it but it would have been nice if it was mentioned)

Delicious food and great service. Staff are always friendly and very accommodating. Food is super tasty and very authentic. I'd recommend to visit here for sure and will definitely be back.

Good service, great presentation of food but the thai food was tasteless - wouldn't go back.

I was bitterly disappointed in the food I received. The Pad Thai dish I was first served had hardly any sauce and was extremely bland. The kitchen did try to remedy this. Although the second dish I received had more flavour, it was not the sweet-sour signature dish I was expecting. The entire experience was underwhelming. This coupled with the fact that they have a large misleading banner outside advertising "50% off Tuesday through Thursday" yet when I dined there on a Wednesday I was charged full price. I queried this offer with the staff who claimed "the banner is up next door, we can't take it down but we do not do that offer". They were kind enough to knock £5 off the bill for the hardly touched Pad thai but the overall experience was disappointing and I will not be returning here.

Not great. Ordered a vegetarian takeaway that arrived incorrect even though we had clearly stated our choice on the online order form: When we rang to rectify the matter the manager very rudely offered 50% off the meal which we politely declined . Will never use them again, anyone can get a meal wrong but the customer service is appalling.

Orderd a delivery through just eat advised food would be around 1 hour, it actually arrived 30 mins early overcooked and some how cold. Fish cakes and tempora prawns where like rubber the green curry was ice cold like it had just been taken out of the fridge. The only thing that came hot was the sticky rice but that's probably because it was still inside the microwave bag and it was so over cooked I could pick the whole thing up on my fork like a brick. £42 for a cold microwave meal don't bothet

Waited a long time for our food. Sides of rice cold ,had to be sent back which left us eating at different times. To be fair the food was delicious although our evening was spoiled and this was taken into consideration with the bill.

Bit disappointed got a totally different meal from what I ordered. So be careful. Couldn't be bothered to complain.

Waited over an hour for food, said there's a delay with the duck, but none of our party of 4 had ordered duck, we all ordered sea bass, when the food came it was cold, terrible service, will not be returning 👎👎👎

Firstly, the food was incredible, cannot fault it. Nice atmosphere. However, my vegetarian girlfriend ordered a veg and tofu curry and a as served chicken. The staff changed it once she noticed after eating a piece of meat, however other than a quick apology there was no compensation offered from the bill total. Such a shame, as the food otherwise was fantastic. However, due to that we won’t be returning.

Ordered take away and was so disappointed, I don't mind paying for good food but I'm not going to be ripped off. King prawn hot basil stir fry was half of a small takeaway box for £13, there was hardly anything there. I have eaten at this restaurant and had take away many times but this time was worse than what you would get at the chippy and twice as expensive!

Had a delivered meal we had the sirloin steak from the specialties, it was £46.00 for a sub standard meal. The steak was fatty and chewy not medium as ordered. The vegetables were raw, we couldn't eat any of it, just the rice was lovely. £46.00 for rice though?Tried 8 times to call and complian with no answer each time. If it was just a chippy takeaway I would feel the same. For a restaurant we were looking for a nice meal, in the past had lovely food. Will order a chippy next time I think.

The delivery man was very friendly and told us about the offers they have on currently in store and on their website. The food came very quickly and was delivered piping hot. I'm used to having to choose the only vegan thing on the menu but here nearly everything can be adapted for vegans and there are loads of vegetarian options too. Also great for food intolerances. I had the most amazing banana fritter for desert with chocolate and syrup, the tofu curry was amazing and there was a whole vegan platter available as a starter. Owners were so friendly and helpful. Definitely coming back.

Have eaten at the restaurant and also had takeaway recently, always excellent food and generous portions. This time was a business visit, but have been with friends also and never been disappointed. Complimentary cocktail was lovely too. Highly recommend and keen that Widnes doesn’t lose this restaurant.

The food was stunning, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. It was authentic and the portion sizes was generous, too. I feel bored and uninspired by the takeaways on offer locally, so it’s really refreshing to have found Arroy Thai, I feel like this is exactly what we have been missing. Don’t let the minimum order put you off, the quality of the food is honestly worth it. Keep up the good work, I can’t wait to order again!

Was contemplating an online order - and then spotted the 1 star hygiene rating on their website so quickly emptied my online basket....

Visited recently and it really glad I did. From the beer to the noodle and the dessert it was all great. A bit steep price wise but I think this is down more to the kids drinks which are the same price as beer!!!! But the staff were very attentive and the food came out very quickly and was absolutely delicious. Must visit if your in the area

Best most tastiest food we have had in ages. Polite staff and lovely surroundings.

My wife and I had a lovely meal last night on our first visit to this restaurant. My wife is coeliac and the staff were careful to make sure her meal was gluten free. After paying the bill we noticed £1 had been added to each of her courses under "gluten". When we queried this we were told "that is what the till does". We didn't see any reference to this additional charge in the menu. There is no justification for such an additional charge and is counter productive as we will think twice now about going back and recommending it to other coeliacs

Tried to order twice online tonight the order went through then they cancelled it. I drove to restaurant to order in person to be told to order online!?! I explained what had happened online they said no we can’t take your order we’re too busy. Never again!! Your loss £65 spent else where tonight. Will never go to or order from Arroy Thai again we found a new nicer tastier & better organised place. Lost 3 good customers….

Wow! Absolutely beautiful food! We ordered take away on a Friday night and the food arrived quickly and was piping hot! We ordered tempura veg which was lovely, and two curries with a portion of chips and rice! It was absolutely gorgeous, portions were generous, food fresh and full of flavour! Very impressed and will be ordering again soon.

Place order 35.00 cold on delivery. Appetite spring rolls 3xribs 3x portions for one one main .battered prawn one main.very disjointed.all went in bin .and what I did eat bad stomach in morning on way 😫. A wait the manager to contact

Ordered a delivery through Uber.It arrived promptly.The portions were very small. The rice came below halfway on box.The food was cold, had to warm it up.The chips were not only cold but were under done and some were hard.Very disappointed and will not order again. Especially as one dish was almost £13!

During the lockdown I have been trying to get my dinner from a different place each week. On Saturday just gone I decided to order from Arroy Thai.I have eaten in Arroy Thai a few times before and had the takeaway delivered whilst living at my last house in Widnes a few times to, every time I have eaten in there or from there I have not been disappointed.I now live a bit further away in Runcorn which meant I had to order a bit more, but since my Covid bubble was visiting that wasn’t a problem. I can’t remember the exact amount that was required to be eligible for delivery to where I am though.I decided to order the Arroy Thai Platter and the Drunken Noodles with Duck. My friend also ordered the Arroy Thai Platter, but ordered the Thai Green Curry with Chicken and Jasmine rice. We were still under the amount required for delivery so we ordered some of the Thai Fish Cakes to split between us.Now, since I don’t live as close anymore there was a little concern about the temperature the food would be on delivery. However, the food was delivered before the estimated time and was a perfect temperature. Both myself and my friend, who has never eaten from Arroy Thai before really enjoyed the food.In conclusion, as always Arroy Thai did not disappoint. If you have never eat there before and like Thai food or are in the mood to try something different I highly recommend eating there.

I've been waiting a while now to try here, I've always heard good things. I was so disappointed with my birthday meal this evening. The food was cold and bland, the veg was hard and the rice was stodgy and stuck together. The prawn crackers where missed off the order. I paid for extra ribs, £4.95 for 3 measly ribs.......... portion sizes where tiny. I spent almost £60 for meals for 2 adults and 2 children and was left still hungry. We won't be ordering again.

Ordered via the website and received hot food within the hour despite the delivery driver getting a bit lost on our estate! I had the red curry with chicken (tons of meat) and my o/h had the cashew nut stir fry with duck! It was delicious and did not disappoint. Thank you Dave and the team

My mrs tried ordering a takeaway, you'd think we had just kicked the managers cat. He answered the phone as if he couldn't be arsed and wanted us to order via just eat. Certainly didn't want putting out that's for sure. For this reason I'm not sure I'd use the place again. Shame, we like thai food. Hurry up Widnes and get another thai.

Excellent Thai food ever since our first visit the arroy has been our no.1 restaurant in Widnes we’ve never had a bad meal here always freshly cooked and you can choose how spicy you want it still working our way through the menu

We just love the food and service from Thai Arroy. ordered take away again tonight for 4 of us, and it was as delicious as ever. Delivery was prompt by a lovely friendly driver. The food thoroughly enjoyed by all. King prawn starters are delicious. Sea bass in red curry sauce with King Prawns....fabulous, as are the duck dishes. Thanks to Dave and the team, it is so great to be able order such a lovely take away delivered to home.

Had the Arroy Thai take away menu as it was closed during the lockdown. Had garlic ribs, satay chicken and veg spring rolls which were all lovely and the garlic and pepper stir fry with egg fried rice for main which was the highlight of the meal, could eat that every day of the week. Only cost around 26 pound as well and it was delivered quicker than expected also. Will definitely be ordering from here again, whether it be from the restaurant or from the comforts of my home.

Was really really nice food an great service. Got chicken spring rolls and main course of Crispy Duck in Panaang Curry. Duck was unreal and gave me lots too. Would definitely recommend and come back again. Hopefully with a date 🤣

Ordered what should have been a nice weekend treat for myself and son (18) I ordered fried rice with vegetables and tofu. Crispy noodle I will review my food first It was cold bland not a spice in sight. Had plenty of tofu but hardly any veg. There was onions two pieces of broccoli and one plum tomato: after three mouthfuls I had to add salt and lots of soy sauce just for a bit of flavour. The noodles well they where inedible and has been left untouched. They where not crispy and also where cold My sons meal was the same cold and tasteless he described it as £20 down and most of it has gone in the bin Will not be ordering again from there Yuck

One star does not suffice. We placed an order at 7:05pm via Uber Eats. The estimated delivery time was 7:55-8:15pm. The restaurant could have changed this time if they were running behind, updated us, contacted us, told us they were running late, apologised for the delay... honestly, any of these things would have been fine. Instead, we heard nothing, meaning that we had to call them three separate times to find out what on earth was going on. Each time, the response was the same "the driver has your order, it's on the way". This was obviously a lie, since there was no way an order could have been on the way for over an hour when we live 7 minutes away from the restaurant by car. In the end, the order finally arrived at 9.35pm, after we had phoned the restaurant to cancel it and they told us they could not contact their own delivery driver (they don't use Uber drivers according to the app) so we had to tell him to take the order back and that we cancelled it. I completely understand that there are likely to be delays with things like this, especially in the current climate, but all it needed was a quick "really sorry but we're running late" and to be told the truth about whatever was going on that caused the massive delay. To have no information whatsoever and to be lied to is just not good enough. We have had food from Arroy Thai before and it was lovely, which is why this is such a shame, as we will certainly never be eating here again.

Dined here for our anniversary on 27th sept. Service was great. Staff chatty.. meal out of this world... highly recommend this place. Will def come back when in area again... loved it ..
