Waited 2 hours for my delivery time it came it was stone cold had much better curry's won't be back 0/10 😒

Don't know what any of the food service or atmosphere is like but had a table booked for 5 o'clock today and sat outside for 20 minutes they still haven't opened and are not answering

Went to desii last night had a lovely meal staff are great , they do a Mon to Thursday 5 course set meal 16.99 and a Sunday buffet 20 pounds well worth a visit

Visited Friday 24th of May. I’ve not been for an Indian meal for a long time. Staff were so polite and helpful, food was absolutely superb. I had a special dish, it was made from scratch, so fresh and so tasty! The garlic and cheese naan were also divine! 5 stars from us 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Not been here for a good few years went last night and wow the food was amazing and service was excellent too was very quiet for a Saturday night but that’s a good thing!

Unfortunately didn't get chance to try the food. I reserved the table for two on the 21/12/23. The table was booked for 17.30 on 31/12/23, a full 10 days before. When we arrived there wasn't a great deal of people in there. One of the staff was scrutinising the bookings ledger, another was asking when we had booked, had we paid a deposit. There was no booking in the ledger and there was no interest in the email I was attempting to show them. We were then reluctantly offered to stay but informed that it was a set menu on a new year eve. There was no mention of this when I booked the table. We felt like they didn't want us there and I didn't want to spend anything up from £70 there. Will not go back. Very sad about the experience, the place looks very nice and the man who first greated us was friendly but that is we're it ended.

We booked to eat here on Christmas day 2023. The positives are a follows. The atmosphere was good, the staff were very friendly and the food was really good. On a normal visit I would imagine its a great place to eat but unfortunately they just couldn't cope with a full restaurant at Christmas. We booked the 3pm sitting and waited 45mins for a drink, a further 45 mins for our starter. Then another 1.5hrs for the main course. We gave up waiting for dessert as did other tables, they took them home but we didn't bother after 4 hours we just wanted to go home. 1 large family group walked out after the starter as they couldn't stay any longer. I wouldn't go again at Christmas but I would give it a go at another time.

Visited for a very busy Christmas day meal. The restaurant was full and the staff were run off their feet. Waited a while for our meals, but staff were pleasant and kept the drinks flowing, so we were happy enough! Food was gorgeous and worth the wait. We'll be back!

We’ve been several times now and always have fabulous food and excellent service. Highly recommended, especially the puri starters.

Me and my girlfriend decided to book a table last minute food was amazing bit of an issue but they where so apologetic and quick to resolve it lovely staff amazing food will definitely be going back see you soon guys

We did choose a mid week night to attend so not reallyan atmosphere as it was quiet, but staff very attentive food was delicious will be visiting again im sure, especially as they do a loyalty scheme now

Booked a table for eight to celebrate Father's Day. Arrived at the restaurant on time at 17:30 and waited anxiously until 20:15 to be served. We sampled various tandoori dishes and around five types of curry, which were decent in quality and served piping hot. However, the most disappointing aspect was that the bill was overcharged by approximately 20%. After carefully reviewing and calculating the bill with the restaurant staff, they rectified the incorrect amount. To add to our frustration, they initially claimed that their card machine was out of order, but we insisted on paying by card and, lo and behold, they miraculously had a perfectly functioning one. It left us feeling rather dishonestly treated. I would only recommend this restaurant if you have no urgency to satisfy your hunger and don't mind paying extra for the privilege of aimlessly sitting and waiting.

Tandoori mixed grill was really good. Great flavour

I've been eating Indian food since the late 1970,s at various Widnes restaurants and others all over the country and the Desi is definitely up there with the best I have ever eaten. Can't recommend the place enough.

Try the Chicken Sagwala it was fit.

Food took 90 minutes from ordering to come but it was tasty.

I would never eat here again! Firstly we ordered and had an expected collection time of 6.30pm. At 7pm we were still waiting. No apology or explanation. I gave my name in three times and they went to check for my order. Each time coming back and saying it is being bagged up. As for the food, tasteless. The lamb was very tough and not the quality I would expect. I also found a hair in with my shami kebab. Disgusting place for food and we will never be going again.

Great restaurant, with lovely staff and a beautiful calm atmosphere.I couldn’t recommend any other Indian than this, you just have to try it.

Waiting 20 mins in between meals and there is only another two tables here, it’s a big joke I think they just want you to buy lots of alcohol in between meals. Which didn’t work for them with us as we don’t drink alcohol. I won’t be back again food was mediocre too

This is a little hidden golden Gem in Widnes centre. The staff in here are lovely and very attemptive. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Always a nice atmosphere in here and you are made to feel very welcome. Would recommend anyone to go here if you want a delicious Indian meal ❤️

This is mine and my partner's favourite restaurant, we find any excuse to visit here. The staff are so friendly and the food is delicious. The ambience is so lovely, and the restaurant is spacious and always clean.

Service was a bit slow but food was lovely

A little disappointed, the curry I ordered tasted blandand tasted the same as my friends, wich was supposed to be a different curry, both tasted like a base gravy with very little spices added to differentiate each curry

So when we had desii we called it and picked it up as we were eating our chips because we eat the chips first I mean they were fine VERY VERY soggy and the onion bhajis were very very crumbly and just tasteless but the staff were very nice and gave us our food very quickly but the food man… let down so don’t recommend if you don’t like soggy food and in need for a good and filling grub.I am a local to Widnes but from St Helens so thought was gonna be nice but it wasn’t and costed about 42 quid so 42 quid in the drain!

Been coming to Desii since it opened its door in Widnes, I couldn’t go to another Indian restaurant as would feel I was missing out on their food. Never had a bad meal in here always 10/10. Staff are very friendly

We ordered online - restaurant prices rather than takeaway. Arrived 45 minutes late. Onion bhajis were soggy and tasteless. Vegetable Biryani was effectively a pilau rice with a few peas thrown in - waste of money. Samosa pastry was thick and stodgy with tasteless filling. Lamb pepper fry was quite good. We won't be trying there again any time soon.

Average taste, long wait, dirty floor carpet you would notice while walking upstairs for toilet( my shoes kept sticking😀 and made funny noise)

Used to be a great Indian but they've clearly given up or got a poor quality chef in. Past 3 times our food has been below average and we would have had a better experience just spending £2 for an Iceland curry. The curry was basically soup it's so liquidy the textures all wrong and as for spice either they forgot to add any or its just been watered completely out of it. We got stale poppadoms and the mint yoghurt smelt and tasted off This is the last time we will ever go here and we will tell everybody else how poor it was too

Really enjoyed our meals this evening thanks! We had Chicken Jalfrazi with Pilau Rice and Vegetable Balti with Garlic Rice and a portion of chips. Always a perfect curry from Desii, don't go anywhere else since we found this lovely restaurant and takeaway. A fabulous holiday treat. Thanks again!

I had heard rave reviews about this restaurant and as we didnt intend to cook we decided to order a takeaway from here. I started to try and order at 4 and at 6.30 had to ring my bank for intervention to get the order through, such a faff. Placed my order for about an hour later. Wasnt the cheapest of takeaways but it was a special Saturday night. The order came 15 mins late,considering it asked in 5 minute increments wasnt really good. Now to the meal, we had a Chutney tray and spicy poppadums, nothing wrong with that, in fact best part. We always share so got our usual onion bhajis and king prawn puri, neither was the best. We then had lamb tikka makhani, prawn anarkali ( in a way I've never seen before) not like we're used to and balti rice. Ok but not memorable. We, in Widnes need a really good chinese restaurant and indian restaurant, we have 1 of each on the outskirts of town but from personal experience getting a taxi home is a nightmare. Shan't b visiting again

Good taste. It is not the real Indian taste but still as per the location and people taste, It is the best. Service was very good. I think that is the best part every customer looks for. Overall Excellent service.

If you want to wait almost 2 hours for a takeaway then order from here this is on a Wednesday night so glad it wasn't on a Friday or Saturday night,ordered at 19.37 and arrived at 21.23 plus the fact the delivery guy tried to deliver to a neighbor down the road after another 20 mins re-heating the food it was actually enjoyable, got the usual it's on the way when tried ringing up

The food is truly spectacular, ordered all the small plates with an extra side of slaw and gunpowder potatoes. The Sev Puri and the Paneer and Pineapple Tikka were particular favourites. A tastefully decorated restaurant staffed by friendly and personable staff. All in all it was spectacular and I can’t recommend highly enough!

On Vacation from Abu Dhabi my family took me to Desii as it's one of their favorite Indian restaurants. I'm a huge fan of Indian cuisine so I was really excited to try it out, it was rather busy with a good atmosphere. For starter I had the tarkha dal, for me it was more of a soup consistency with no bite and not much flavor so this was a little disappointing as I've had many dals. The main course I had the chicken Naga, absolutely unreal, such an amazing taste with a nice kick, the staff were lovely and friendly and other than the starter not being quite what I expected overall it was a lovely meal :)

First visit and the last for us. 1 and a half hour wait for starter which was really poor and cold, curries had little meat and tasteless sauces. Staff and setting OK but nothing else to recommend. Disappointed.

Had a really nice meal on Monday with the family at Desii - food was really lovely and the staff were great and made the night. Had a laugh with the waiter Taz and tried his own recommended cocktail, which was lovely! Thanks Taz and all the other staff there for a great night 👍

So I’ve dined at this restaurant before and have always enjoyed the food. So as a treat we thought we would get a takeaway over the festive period and the service was shocking. Firstly the order was over 2 hours late and it said up to 55 mins which I was with cause of the festive period. I tried to call the number which they had provided and it’s just rang out! When I managed to get through to ask where my food was I was told it would be 15 minutes. I could hardly hear the guy due to the loud music in the background. 30 minutes later still no food so again I tried calling and no answer. The food then came with no apology. Very disappointed in the service for takeaway and I don’t us them again.

Very great service, I came on my birthday and they gave me a birthday cake and a free shot of tequila very polite staff, and food was fantastic easily one of the best restaurants in Widnes

Service and setting is decent but never had worse food, the meat was like rubber, after spending 40 pounds I left the restaurant still hungry as I could not finish the food. It maybe that I went on a bad day for meat but based on this experience never going to try again.

Went here for my birthday with my husband after being recommended by my dad. We absolutely loved it! The food was incredible, all very fresh! My husband got a lamb curry and usually he is worried about getting lamb as it can be fatty but it wasn’t fatty at all, it had big chunks of lamb and was cooked beautifully, so soft. And the staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be going back!

Ordered a takeaway advised it would be 45 mins, was actually quite a good deal later and starters cold with mains lukewarm. It was a birthday treat and not cheap, so very disappointed. Wont be using again.

We had a beautiful takeaway from Desii on Friday evening, I had vegetable balti with mushroom pilau rice, my husband had lamb rogan josh with pilau rice. The different layers of flavours as we were eating were just wonderful, the lamb was cooked to perfection and I had a good range of seasonal vegetables and chick peas in mine. It's the third party time we've used Desii's and we've been really impressed every time. Very polite and courteous service too. Thankyou gentlemen.
