First time take away from Aroy! Wow! Best Satay I’ve ever had! Everything was fresh, succulent and super tasty! They really know how to cook. We will be going back many times! Thank you.

We chanced upon this restaurant when we 1st arrived in Alresford and were taking a look around, as we weren't sure how busy things would get later, we booked a table for 7pm. On arriving back at the restaurant we were warmly greeted by, I presume, the owner & shown to our table. As it was early there was, from memory, only one other table occupied so it was quite quiet, but that suited us. We shared mixed starters, then had a main each sharing rice & noodles. I had the jungle curry, which was a little too hot for me, but not to the extent that I couldn't eat it, I usually go for mussamen, but fancied a change. We had a couple of bottles of wine with the meal, but were too full for dessert. Our waitress, who was not Thai, was not the greatest, the bill was however good.

Terrific Thai food in lovely surroundings. The Lime and Chilli sea bass is to die for. Service very personable. Will definitely return.

I ordered the banquet for one to take away at £11.25 it was an absolute steal. The food was really delicious and the portion size was very generous. I knew it was going to be great as I have taken advantage of their weekday lunch time menu a couple of times- which is always excellent. Wiould definitely recommend for eat in or take away!!!

The starters were average but the main courses were good. What lets this restaurant down is the service and atmosphere is below standard. The young people waiting the tables were worried and had no training. They would bring the dishes up from the kitchen on the ground floor, place them on the bar and they would stay there for some time as they talked together - they weren't sure which dish went to which table. They were trying to do their job, but couldn't and in the meantime our food became chilled. Our own dishes stayed on our table long after we'd finished our starters. We couldn't seem to catch anyone's attention. The evening moved slowly and the atmosphere felt sad. We will not be returning.

First ever visit, took my dad out for his 88th Birthday meal, smart looking restaurant and we had a great table in the window. The staff were very friendly knowledgeable and professional. The 3 course Lunchtime menu at £11.95 was superb value, and the quality of the food was amazing, I had Tom Yum soup for starters and the level of spice and flavour was just right, my Red Thai main was very flavoursome and again nicely spiced. The quality of service was superb, my dad has some problems walking but easy access to the down stairs and helpful staff, and disabled parking outside. Overall a super experience and some great quality foid beautifully presented..WELL WORTH A VISIT again

Visit with friends for a multi birthday treat. We left it to Shah to bring out a surprise selection from the menu for all five of us to share. None of us were disappointed, large sharing platter starter followed by sea bass, panang curry, kour kling, pad tha, tamarind duck and rice. What a great selection, excellent quality and taste with cheesecake and coffee to finish. Thanks to Shah and the team for a great afternoon!

Despite living in Alresford for 45 years, this was our first lunch time visit to this restaurant. The service was friendly and professional (thank you to the 'family member' taxi driver who was helping out). The lunch menu - 2 courses for £9.99, was value for money as well as tasty and filling. We'll be back.

Decided to try having just moved to the area and heard good things about this place. Looked empty which is why avoided previously but went ahead this time. We were taken upstairs despite downstairs being empty, so thought maybe upstairs would be busier with a buzz- no, one family and one single at another table. Despite this we were placed at the only unmade table, next to a very dirty window (cobwebs insects), on a slant (relevant later). It took 25mins for someone to bring us our drinks and take our food order, despite there being less than 10 customers in the restaurant. Having ordered, we were close to leaving when it was then nearly a hour before our starter arrived. When it arrived we were informed the new chef had done the lamb wrong so they’d reduce the bill price, not sure this was fair to blame the chef and we wouldn’t have known anyway, but honesty was appreciated. Lamb chops and spring rolls tasteless. Mains then arrived- one completely wrong meal and with a large pile of peanuts on the plate- had already had lengthy discussion about our allergies. Rice was then brought out for the meal that was being redone, had to ask for it to come out when the meal was actually ready. In meantime, my meal had nearly slid off the plate due to the slant of the table, the staff saw this happen including me getting splashed with sauce as I caught it, and my fork going on the carpeted floor, but didn’t offer new cutlery- instead watched as I got some from the next table. My side the pak choi was inedible- it was taken back to the kitchen and taken off the bill. My fish was ok, but put on top of insipid broccoli and cauliflower that looked like it had been boiled from a frozen packet. Not authentic Thai and not something I’d serve guests at home let alone paying guests at a restaurant. Partners main once the correct dish and allergen free was edible. Both of us left lots. When waitress collected plates and asked how it was we were awkwardly honest that it was “not good” to which we got an awkward “alright then”. We then again waited ages for bill which yes had lamb reduced by £1, and pak choi removed, but still over £50 (no alcohol) for food we had to force ourselves to eat. We then got takeaway on way home as we were starving. Worst Thai ever. Won’t be going back. Didn’t like how all three staff blamed chef for all mistakes, should support each other as a team.

We had numerous issues when arriving, however as we’re about to leave the owner asked for a second chance, and promised we would not be disappointed. We were not, the food was lovely, and we all enjoyed the various dishes served to us at a special discounted price. Overall a good evening, just a shame it took a complaint first, but we will be back

We went to celebrate the GSCE results and were so pleased that we chose this resaurant. It has never failed to deliver us great take aways and sitting in meant we got to share a fantastic selection of all their starters, the duck rolls were everyones favourite. Always delivers great food.

Had the lunch time menu, tom yum soup and a green curry, friends had similar. Can't stop thinking about how it was one of the best if not the best Thai I've had in England. Great having it so reasonably priced too, means I will be back. Friendly service. All round good experience.

Enjoyed a special meal here last weekend whilst staying in Alresford. We’ve had plenty of Thai meals but this place is pretty special. The seafood platter to share starter was wonderful. And the salmon curry mains exceptional. Recommmended.

My first visit to the Aroy Thai and I am suitably impressed! Shah always as helpful as usual and the food was exquisite. Special platter starter, tamarind duck, steamed sea bass, beef salad all superbly cooked, presented and taste amazing. Cheesecake delicious! They obviously have a top notch team in the kitchen.
