Aroma Takeaway in Wellingborough

Used this Chinese takeaway for years now. Have to say the service and food is consistently top draw. Sometimes frustrating that they will only take cash (must be casino nights 😂) but that’s my only grumble

Friendly, great food especially Satay and Green pepper/Black bean sauce dishes. If you like Hot & Sour soup, it's the best I've ever had!

This place was very good when it first opened, but went down hill and got a 1 star hygiene rating! I stayed away until they got back to 4 stars. Unfortunately my most recent visit will be my last for the foreseeable future. The 'vegetarian' chicken looks more like a load of gristle and skin, it was so off putting we didn't bother trying to eat it - the rest of our order was no more than tepid warm after a 2 minute drive home. Sorry but that's far from acceptable.

What a cheek telling u to bring cash means 1 thing this is not going through the books. Then say we dont take cards, lies just seen a customer pay by card. Then add insult to injury 50pence charge for using a card. Rubbish service and food.

We’ve tried all the ones in the area and now we just keep going back here, if you like a dish and you order it again, it will taste the same. What more could you ask?

Not that nice. The serving person is rude. The food is not the best there are more bean shoots than Noodles in the Chow mien. Better one in the area.

Had a take away from here Sunday 27th August - £19.00 very expensive for what we had and it was disgusting food very bland and tasteless will not have a takeaway from here again - it used to be very nice. We will stick to Kings on Cannon Street in the future.

We ordered from Aroma for the first time in quite a while and were very disappointed. Previously the food was always perfect and I would have described it as the best Chinese I had ever had, but now it is the worst. The ingredients seem to have changed, squid was really oily and not cooked properly. Crispy shredded beef was soggy and the sauce was not right. Have they changed owners or have the original owners gone away? I will not be going back, which is a shame.

Always go here as it is my local Chinese. Great portions. Good weekday deals also for meal choices including set menu for less than £10. Staff are friendly. We never have to wait too long either. Food is always fresh and the king prawns in the fried rice are huge! The dumplings are also very good. Free prawn crackers are always offered. Would recommend a visit for a good Chinese! My friend always gets chilli beef and says it’s amazing!

Tried Aroma again hoping it was back to its best. I was wrong not good at all, prices increased, portion sizes reduced, will only take cash!? Not only that the food quality was poor. I will be looking for another Chinese I’m afraid. Gutted

Sorry to say but it has now gone down hill as the food isn’t great and it gets more expensive each time you go and on small orders they always want cash

Sadly stopped going to Aroma, last 3 visits very disapointing. Used to be number 1 don't know why standards have slipped, same staff.

I have raved about this takeaway for years.

Collected 7 meals all were piping hot and cooked perfectly, could not find fault in any meal would highly recommend.

The Aroma is our local Chinese takeaway, we have used it a handful of times last year and will still continue to use it, The food is very tasty and doesn't have you up in the middle of the night feeling like you have eaten the entire contents of a road side salt bin, the ingredients seem to be premium - a lot of Chinese's serve cheap food that contains MSG and consequently leave you feeling rough the next day.

Good it nice and hot and they make a decent curry. Only downside is they need to make sure to cut grissle off of the duck breasts

Food is always hot and thoroughly cooked. Menu is comprehensive and great value for money. Take always are recast in 5 minutes. Highly recommended.

Been going to this takeaway for 8 years, it recently changed hands they don't take credit cards!

I've had many a Chinese take-away all over Europe, but nothing lives up to Aroma! Best part about Wellingborough.

missing a spring roll when I phoned asked if I would like to come back to collect it if I had done food I had would have been cold and extra fuel for car also aromatic duck overcooked and dry

This takeaway used to be very good but has now gone badly downhill so use another of the many places in this area. The staff are rude, they keep changing their mind regarding payment and will now not take credit cards. The food is now below average and orders are often wrong when collected and despite the lead time given when placing a telephone order it is often not ready. A classic case of a good reputation being ruined by complacency. Try elswhere

It has been sometime since I have had a takeaway from here and have previously been impressed. Last night we had something that was tasteless and very disappointing. The ordering and speed of service is excellent but they have appear to have lost the will of the spicing/flavouring. Overall very disappointed

Good quality Chinese takeaway. Totally recommend their special chow mien ( a meal on its own ) , if you love spicy try their Kung po sauce , u can have it with chicken or prawns . Yummy . Only downside is , they don't deliver .

Never had a bad experience here. Order is always accurate, food is hot and portion size generous. Gets very busy on Friday and Saturday nights but the staff work 100 miles per hour to get orders out the door!

Serves excellent westernised “Chinese” food. This is our go to local takeaway we have been going here since it opened. The food is hot and freshly cooked. You can actually see into the kitchen area and watch the food being cooked. Portions are generous but if you do not want to hang around phone your order in first.

Unfortunately this Chinese has changed, the food is good but it is no longer any different to any other Chinese in Wellingborough.

If you are looking for great Chinese food at very good prices then I can certainly recommend the Aroma Takeaway in Wellingborough.Fast to cook and delicious each time.It's also easy to get to and with ample parking.

We have had take out from here several times now and not once have we been disappointed. The service is very quick and friendly and the food always tastes delicious - we have 'tested' many dishes now! I would love it if they did delivery but the food is so good I'm happy the make the effort to collect!

First time I had Chinese from Aroma I thought it was so good I was going to phone and tell them (I didn't as my husband thought it would be a bit weird!) that was about 3 years ago now and we often make it a once a fortnight treat. We absolutely love it. I try different dishes & they are all fantastic. The meat & prawns are top quality. You get plenty. None of that cheap spongy chicken here! You get free prawn crackers each time. I call & collect my order and they are so quick...usually ready in 10 mins. You see your food being prepared by the busy chefs & I always get served by the smiley owners. I will never go anywhere else. Keep up the great work & please don't close or move!!

We always use this one although it's further from our house as it is consistently good, not too heavy on the salt and you get a free bag of crackers.

First time we have been to this takeaway. Wide range of food at a reasonable price. You can see the guys cooking while ordering at the desk, and the conditions in the kitchen, which I like to see, instead of them being hidden away. We all enjoyed our food, chicken a bit cheap maybe but tasted good, wifes chicken fried rice a bit dry but still good. Location is a bit hidden away in a housing estate out of town, but worth searching out.

My other half was treating me to dinner and always raved about here. Last time I was not impressed but said we would try again. My duck in plum sauce was so over cooked I could not eat it and my banana fritters had two small pieces of banana that were black I gave up. I am sure it was just a bad night but very disappointed.

Amazing place to go and get a quick dinner, never had a problem here! The only reason it didn't get 5/5 is because they don't deliver and for me it is a tad out of the way. I highly recommend the Beef in blackbean sauce!

Generally have the same thing which is Singapore rice and dry spare ribs.It's always very quick to be made and usually quite busy, sometimes have time for a quick half in the pub next door.Consistently good quality and friendly service.

We have been using Aroma as our Chinese takeaway for the last 3 years and it has to be one of the best we have used. For other cuisine we tend to change between a number of different establishments, since living in Wellingborough we have not tried another Chinese takeaway as this one is so good. The service is very quick and only twice since we have been using them have we had to wait more than 10 minutes, usually we order leave the house straight away and by the time we get their our food is ready. This Chinese is always busy and people come from some distance away for the food which shows how good it is. So far we haven't had anything we didn't like on the menu and between our family and friends have tried almost everything.In addition to being quick service and fab food the staff are very friendly and polite even when busy.

Tucked away in a corner of tiny retail park, this takeaway is not to be shrugged off. We have to drive there, but do we care? No. The black bean and green pepper tofu calls to us from afar, along with the amazingly friendly cashiers. Almost every time we've rang to order, the food was ready in five minutes. Every Chinese takeaway in Wellingborough pales in comparison.

When I lived in Wellingborough this was where I'd usually get a Chinese takeaway from. The food was always very tasty and there's plenty of choice on the menu.One snag is that when ti gets busy the service tends to fall apart so you can be waiting an age for your food.

This is a great Chinese, myself and my boyfriend try to visit it as much as we can, the food is tasty and the staff are pleasant, highly recommended

This is by far and away the best Chinese outside of MK. It's very clean, always busy and the food is served really quickly. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Having read reviews on TA I was in need of sustenance between evening jobs. So I scrolled down the reviews for what was described as "the best Chinese in Wellingborough". The food I received led me to comment to my friends that is was the worst Chinese I had ever purchased.I ordered the crispy salt and chilli squid. The rock hard nuggets of overcooked frozen product would have had me bankrupt my self at the dentist. Inedible was an understatement. I returned to complain and they couldn't have been more helpful and apologetic. Another portion was promptly cooked and was almost as inedible as the first. It would have better to let them defrost in my mouth than let them suffer the indignity of being tortured by the chef. As well as being rock hard like chippings from a biscuit joiner they had about as much flavour as potato soup. Then on to the Singapore rice noodles; a glutinous mass of oil, noodles, scrambled egg and curry powder. I suffered severe eye strain trying in vain to find any other ingredient in this dish. The large pancake roll was greasy and cold in the centre, witnessed by the echo of raw bean-sprouts chafing against my teeth. If this is the best Chinese in Wellingborough I would recommend that only those locals who have no experience of good food should dine there and let the rest of us avoid this place at all costs. This is a terrible testament to the sorrowful state of take away food in this town. I for one will not be returning - however desperate I become. Next time I will opt to gnaw the flesh from the leg of a live squirrel before sullying my palette with such paltry fare.

I have had a takeaway from Aroma several times now and without failing the food is superb! Tried nearly all of the other chineses in wboro and none come close to this place! Shame its just a takeaway. The Singapore noodles are incredibly tasty as is the hot and sour soup.I will definitely be returning again and again....

We've used these guys for years. Good and prompt service and if you want a "safe" meal then this is the place to go. Always consistent and fresh tasting but can lack a little in the excitement department. Overall well above average and never had a bad meal from them.

after googling 'best Chinese in wellingborough' the first to comeup was this one, so went in the car and got one from there. Wow, it really was the best. Clean friendly shop, nice staff, decently priced food. The shop was so busy people in and out constantly whilst I was there, great service system too. The food wasn't greasy like some. So fresh and delicious. Only downfall is that they don't deliver which is a shame if you don't drive.

I have written about the Aroma Takeaway before when the food was great. I am now writing a review as there food is EXCELLENT. Had a meal yesterday which included their "SCHWEZEN HOT N SOUR SOUP & THAI PRAWN CURRY".Wow, they were great and left a nice taste in your mouth.The Service as usual was excellent, when you phone an order in it takes no more than 5-10 to collect, and the staff are always friendly and polite. Overall an EXCELLENT takeaway.

Used the restaurant for takeaway for the first time recently. Wife had the Special Chowmein which was brilliant. My dish was good but I wish I had ordered the Special Chowmein.

We always go here for 7 years has always been nice. Staff are friendly never get order wrong and always hot. Can't say a bad word about it.

Although they aren't perfect they are most certainly the best Chinese takeaway in Wellingborough at an affordable price, only downside is they don't deliver, which they would make a killing if they did!

Last 2 visits ordered sweet and sour king prawn Hong Kong style (great dish) but was given on both occasions chicken!!! Family not pleased. Food is great and will go again and again. Will bring this issue to the attention of the staff on next visit. Have recommended to friends who also have received different to ordered, but food is so good we all come back for more.

We have found this to be the best chinese with 15 miles of our home. Food is fantastic staff are very friendly and welcoming. Incredibly clean and lovely atmosphere. Only downside is they don't deliver but its well worth the drive out.

This is my local Chinese takeaway and, so far, unbeatable in the Wellingborough area. The shop itself is spotless, the staff are friendly and the food is really tasty. Chinese food tends to contain a lot of "gloop" but the food here is relatively fat-free and "gloop" free. I'm not usually a big fan of Chinese food but I don't think I've ever been disappointed coming here. A well-earned 4-stars from me!

Fast service, great food, great value.If all takeaways were this good I would not need a cooker at home.I pass 3 other Chinese takeaways to get here, that says something about the place.

They have a fairly typical menu for a Chinese take-away. The standard of food is excellent and the turn around time very fast. Their prices are quite competitive and the staff friendly - what more could you want??

We have been going here for a couple of years and we have only once had a bad experience. Service is extremely fast (usually 10-15 minutes) and the food always hot and tasty. The chicken satay and ribs to start are lovely, and their singapore vermicelli noodles are delicious! Well worth a vsist.

We tried Aroma as our favourite Chinese has just recently closed. The service was very fast and the food was packed well and in a little bag with the Aroma logo and telephone number - a nice touch. The prawn crackers weren't good they tasted stale. We had sweet and sour chicken balls and although they were a good size, I felt they were a little on the greasy side. The rice was good. We also had prawns which were also just ok. Overall the meal wasn't bad but it wasnt good enough for me to want to rush back to Aroma!

If you live in or near Wellingborough it certainly is worth visiting for your takeaway. Every meal we have had from the Aroma is tasty and well cooked. The staff are very nice and freindly, always smiling. Best of all they have recently started selling SINGHA beer, my favourite.
