Aroma in Bolton

My recent visit to Aroma was incredibly disappointing. We started with the Chicken Manchow Soup, which was supposed to be their specialty. However, it was a major letdown. The soup was incredibly salty, with the only discernible ingredients being soy sauce and cornflour. The Aroma Special Mix Sizzler arrived with limp, tasteless vegetables that seemed freezer-burnt, while The Chicken Manchurian and Chicken Schezwan dishes were just as disappointing. The veggies in both were rotten, and it seemed like the chef only used soy sauce for flavor. Even the fried rice, which should've been good, was too soaked in soy sauce, making it brown and too strong-tasting. In all my 45 years, I've never had food this bad.

I went with my mum and sister on a Friday night - we got the chicken sizzlers and a stonebaked pizza. The sizzlers were delicious, a really good portion size and so so tasty! These sizzlers are the best!!! The pizza was lovely too. I can’t wait to go again!

NO HYGIENE Waste overload near kitchen they do not clean the property. There are rats running in and out daily. They have not cleaned this waste dump, smelled from the outside. Wouldn't recommend anyone eating here until it is clean. No stars - health inspection.

Went to aroma, delicious sizzlers , food arrived quickly, the service was excellent, family friendly, would definitely go again

Title says it all. Wanted to have a romantic pleasant evening meal with my partner on a Sunday evening. We decided on Aroma after my partner had a previous good experience at the restaurant. What can I say.... of course, the current LAW and government guidelines is to wear face coverings on entering the restaurant, right up until you are seated in addition with any travelling around the restaurant such as going to the toilet. A large family entered the restaurant and not one member of the family had a face covering on. Sorry to say, but no wonder Bolton has such high cases! The staff failed to say a word to any of the family members and on arrival, sat the mask-less family right next to our table in an EMPTY restaurant! Myself and partner voluntary moved to another table and explained to the staff how wrong this is to allow such a large group in the restaurant with no masks on, it made us feel so uncomfortable and the restaurant owners could of course face fines and be liable for this carelessness! As a result, we decided to leave the restaurant and what was supposed to be a relaxing, pleasant evening ended up in an ‘on edge’ and stressful one. Shame on you Aroma!!

I visited this place with my family after my parents recommendation. We normally go to Sizzling Palate however their service and food has not been upto scratch over last 3 months. Aroma seating area is set out with lots of little private booths which makes you feel comfortable. The food is spot on and costs the same as most other places however the veg is fresh unlike lots of places that use frozen. The service is good and waiters are attentive. We were greeted with a smile and everyone made sure to say bye when we left. Would recommend to all.

Went to Aroma with the family for tea. Ordered chicken nachos which were good there was a chicken fillet in the bottom. Raspberry mojito was nice with fresh raspberry in. I ordered the sirloin steak sizzler but the steak although OK was definitely not sirloin. It was generally good with chips, rice, pasta veg etc a large portion. Kids had pizza which was fine they ate it all with no complaints. The bill was reasonable and we would likely go back.

Lamb chops are probably the best thing on the menu, as the mains are very standard and nothing out of the ordinary. Steaks are ok. They have a big menu but very few things are actually good. No need to book in advance as tables are always available.

This was our first time, the restaurant was clean and staff very helpful and friendly. The food was to our satisfaction and stayed hot till we finished our meal. We went on a Saturday evening and it wasn’t that busy so didn’t have to book in advance

The food is absolutely awful. £17 for a fillet steak that's pushing 1cm thick, tough as old boots. Wetherspoon's sell better steaks for half that price for crying out loud. I can't even begin to guess what the mystery white sauce (which had gone cold and formed a film) on top of all the sizzlers was, because it was absolutely tasteless. The service was awful as well - we had a large group and had to wait an hour from ordering drinks to all of the drinks finally arriving to the table. It took us 5 attempts to explain that we wanted the starters to come out before the mains. Just avoid this place at all costs. It is cheap and nasty.

i went for dinner with family , we are 8 people , we order 3 aroma chicken sizzler , from one sizzler while i took out big hair was in food , i call waiter , he came , i saw him , he had no apology , i said pls can u change it , he took it back , i said can i change it to different one , he said to it is been cook , how can be sizzler can cook in one minute , he want to have me same dish , this restaurant manager do not know customer service at all , need management course , worse place to eat , staff do not know what they doing , even street food better then aroma , i tnink bolton counci need to go and visit for hygiene issue

When it comes to Sizzlers there's no place better than Aroma Restaurant in Bolton, a perfect mix of flavours. The sauces included are amazing and with the added extra cheese you cannot go wrong. The stone baked pizzas are a hit too, can't find authentic Italian style pizza's elsewhere. All in all makes for a warm and welcoming place, with good service,for a meal out with family or friends.

We as family went into this place, noticed this place, looked fantastic. Until the service & food was served, hmm .. Disgusting, horrible, not ready for human consumption. Worst possible scenario was we like the open kitchen, tho there was a little special friend rooming around kitchen mouse. It seemed very friendly tho I don't think It was a pet.

Food was really poor, cold, not human consumable. Food was not cleanly served, cold tasteless. hygiene was horrible. Not a good experience, especially when you ask.

Came here and was introduced to the chicken sizzler steak with veg,noodles, chips and rice. Not your normal platter as the sizzling hot plate makes it an experience. I’ve had these at many places and could say it was bit different as it had not burnt the majority of the food usually which you get at other places .. I would definitely come again.

Drove passed the place a few times but Hadn't been until tonight. Wow, what a mistake. Food was Horrible! Pizza was pre made and clearly just heated. Curry was at least a few days old. Owner told me he had sold a few that day. I doubt that very much. If you have any taste buds at all, avoid this place like the plague.

We ordered steak sizzler, was very bland and tasteless and a chicken pizza which tasted nice but more veg than chicken, each slice had 2 pieces chicken on. The drinks sizes are good value for money.

Staff is friendly and helpful, place- cozy and modern, yet kept simple,not stuffed with useless decorations. The menu is original, dish sizes very generous, food brought without unreasonable delay, price range is suitable and affordable and food is absolutely amazing,well presented and well cooked. Sizzler dishes are masterpieces. 100% recommended.

Went with all girls party. Service was ok. Food came slowly and kept having to ask for water several times & they had no ice Food was ok, would not go back.

Tuvimos que esperar bastante tiempo, independientemente de tener una mesa reservada. El servicio era amable y una pantalla estaba disponible para más intimidad, que era genial. La comida era buenísima. En griddles servido caliente. Pizzas era excepcionalmente bueno. Mesas un poco grasiento, necesitaba una buena vapor limpio.

Went here with friends .Fabulous towering stack of sizzling food. Not what I would normally expect but absolutley gorgeous.

We went in on a friday night, very close to closing time, however these guys were very accomodating, excellent food and good portion sizes too. Thanks. Don't let this place be missed, nice contemporary ambience too.

Been to aroma yesterday we ordered their soup which was lovely, then tried their steak, i tried special chicken steak and my husband the meat one but it was really nice , i love steaks but cant always find the nice one but found this place by chance and it didn't disappointed us, plus the pepper sauce was really tasty, i have been to lods of places and never liked the pepper sauce but this is something u must try, and much better then sizzlin pallate which used to be good but now only tastes of cinnamon and red chillies, over all I recommend this place to all steak lovers and we are definitely coming back

Very accommodating staff and family environment. Wasn't particarly busy when we went but they took good time to prepare the food and all came together nice and hot including kids food. The kids menu is appropriately priced compared to the rest of the country (which basically prepares frozen supermarket food at extortionate prices) so a real bonus in knowing that the kids menu isn't going to cost a fortune and you end up with Iceland chicken and chips! Ordered the special steak platter which was as expected sizzling on clay plate. On the critical side there is a lot on the plate which takes away the taste. Rice, pasta, noodles, veg and chips under the steak. Perhaps there should only be 2 or 3 of those in addition to the steak to appreciate the flavour. Having said that it was a decent meal not spectacular but good enough to visit again. Huge factors are that it is halal and you can read salah in the restaurant. Although there isn't a private room there is enough space to read in one corner and of course the music is switched off. It wasn't cheap but you expect to pay the price for decent food. Good stuff.

Food was average, service was slow (considering it was empty). Nothing amazing, but wasn't awful either. Little bit expensive for what you are getting.

If you love your meat, you'll love 5he sizzlers here. Go for the more spicier option as mild isn't hot enough if you're Asian and used to very spicy food. Friend ordered the hot chicken sizzler which had an authentic indian-chinese flavour to it. I went for the mild mixed sizzler. Personally, after tasting friends food, I would have gone for that next time round. Way more tastier and flavoursome!

I did used to prefer this place over sizzling palette (boycotted this after their downfall) the sizzles were prttey good, however the last time I went the chicken tikka in the sizzler were slightly undercooked and this put me off their food. However given the opportunity I know the chef and manager would have done something about this... Hence my husband still goes to eat there and enjoys their food. The prices are a little on the higher end and the music can often be too loud, when it's not necessary as the diners are already creating an ambience!

Visit Aroma with friends and family on a regular basis. The cleanliness, quality of service and FOOD is on point each time. Whether its soup, steak or pizzas what a delight. Seating area is very comfortable and a relaxed environment adds to the experience. Would i revisit....yes yes and yes!Thankyou very much guys!!

Delicious, wood fired oven baked pizza bases and an obvious commitment to good quality, fresh ingredients. If you're a pizza lover you'll know how difficult it is to get a decent takeout pizza that isn't drowned in cheap cheese with a soggy base and poor quality toppings, don't be put off by the eclectic nature of the menu, try one and you'll never go back!

We visited as a group and generally had a good experience here. The service levels could be improved with nowhere near as much attention being paid to diners. We had to ask the waiter over for simple things such as drinks orders, desert menu's and such like. The food was fairly good although the only comparison I have for sizzlers are that of Sizzling palate whom I would say take the edge.Overall I would say passable food but somewhat frustrating service.

Just went there today during their lunch hours, had heard about it from many colleagues who claimed that it is better than Sizzling Palate. I have to agree! Only think I would point out is the ratio of meat:everything else on their sizzler. As their food does taste better, but Sizzling Palate's meat portions are slightly bigger.I highly recommend their schezuan sizzler, so good!

The restaurant was strangely empty at 8pm so my group of 12 was given excellent personal service. Large menu of starters and mains with Indian style dishes prominent but also a good selection of grilled meats and fresh pizzas. I had the mixed grill which included delicious chicken tikka, tasty shish kebab and some grilled beef with rice, pasta and noodles resting underneath. Even I had the sense to opt out of the chips that would have been de rigeur with this dish. It was certainly sizzling hot from the temperature on those heavy oval metal serving plates and also quite hot from spices. Anyway for £12.95 it was very good value and generally acceptable quality. A range of soft drinks with the meal and no service charge requested so the bill was £182.52 - really good value.

Went at the weekend good food could not believe the price of a can of Coke £1.45 would love to know we're the Coke comes from seriously needs to look at there drinks menu

Fast service, Food was given whilst still sizzling. Really enjoyable visit. Good size portions, seating is good. Will visit again

Went with family at weekend as it was local. There is no parking for this restaurant had to park in side street. Entrance to the building is from a side door into an unusual corridor not so welcoming at all. Got seated straightaway as the restaurant was half empty bit unusable for a late evening on Saturday. Most of the customers were found to be ladies at the restaurant. Waiters are young lads which lacks experience and customer service. Atmosphere a bit boring with bolly wood music playing in the background. Waiters were laughing and gigging behind our table that was annoying. Food bit expensive and not so good especially sizzlers which were bland even told to make hot. All Meat ordered was chewy and hard. Sizzler was not very appealing with lots of pasta and noodles and less meat. The only thing I enjoyed was mocktails. Food customer service parking and the atmosphere needs improving.

Food was served to us very quickly and sizzling hot. Manager and waiters were pleasant and respectable. Personally would recommend the cod sizzler. Will definitely be returning.

Perfect family restaurant. Treated with the up most respect as we entered the restaurant. The food arrived fairly quickly and was delicious, it was a great time and we will definitely be going there soon. Would recommend to all!!

The place looked closed when we arrived, then realised access to the restaurant is through a side door which leads into a very uninviting corridor. We found people that appeared to be customers but turned out to be the staff laughing amongst each other so wasnt really welcomed in. We never made nothing of it as we heard the food was really good and thats all we wanted. Eventually our table was pointed out to us in the 'empty restaurant'. The restaurant lacked atmosphere. The food was horrible, it was bland, no taste what so ever. I was recomended the dish by the waiter aswel, the best seller he told me, aroma special chicken with noodles pasta chicken and chips. I called out to the waiter to inform him of this so he gave us some sauces, even the sauces were bland. We called out again to say its the same thing, he responded that this is how their food is made, they have been serving like this for three years and that every restraunt around the area makes their food like this. Left me speechless. As i have lived in bolton for four years and never had such a tastles meal. Will never be going to this place again and i would recomend others not to waste their money here overpriced, horrible food and bad service.

Visited numerous times and we have always enjoyed the food and service. We alsolutely love the aroma steak special i will recommend to all steak lovers

I'v been coming to Aroma since it opened. It's absolutely my favourite place to eat. It's cosy and the food is always gorgeous. The staff are great. In fact I'v been following the chef Abdul Razak around for many many years. He is superb. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. You won't know how lovely it is unless you go!!

I would not recommend this place to anyone. For starters we ordered the mix grill and for mains we ordered the aroma special steak and a curry. Both meals had no taste whatsoever. The steak was like rubber and the curry.... Well i wouldnt even call it a curry. We will definetely not be going back there. The service was so slow and although there were empty seats we had to wait a long time before being seated and on top of that the starters came out after mains and no sauce was provided when requested. The drinks were warm and no ice was available.

Went for a birthday meal with my friends food was lovely especially the beef fillet steak and the staff were so friendly even let us bring our own cake i would recommend to anyone

Went there today and I would advise anyone to avoid this place like the plague even if it was your last meal on earth.The food was horrendous.The hospitality was atrocious. The customer services was horrific.The so called MANAGER was out and out rude, disrespectful and ignorant towards what we were trying to explain to him with regards to the quality of the food, its description and presentation. By saying "it,s the way we make it". Just because I boil a potato, squash it with my hands does not make it mash potato.

went there for my birthday meal and found the food to be terrible. complained was told thats the way it is requested to see manager. he never turned up at the table. when we where ready to pay up and leave, we requested an item to be removed from the bill the manager was rude and obnoxious. he said there had been no complaints about the curries in the 3 years they had been open.we left disgusted. checking now on tripadviser realise now that im not the only one unhappy with my experiance.

Went with my family and friends this week, pre-ordered a full lamb leg with all the trimmings , very good, will be back, would recommend, nice to go somewhere that serves halal only and no alcohol.

I read some reviews on Trip Advisor so I just thought I won't bother with the place. But as I went with my friends who wanted to try it, turned out the experience was actually more pleasant than expected. Personally I think this restaurant is underrated, especially their food. I've been to many restaurants and I thought this was brilliant. The food was very delicious esp the Stonebaked Pizzas. The service was not too bad either. But over all I had a good time and had friendly waiters. I feel some of the reviews on this page are biased or unfair. But I went and even though it was absolutely busy on a Saturday night, we still got everything in very good time. I will be going again sometime soon and defiantly would recommend it to everyone. I mean at least try it before putting it off. I'm glad my friends took me in the end. Thank you and keep it up.

Unfortunately I won't be visiting aroma anytime soon, we ordered a strawberry flavoured lassi which my friend thought was curdled however me giving the restaurant the benefit of the doubt thought it tasted fine, until I returned home and started with the worst sickness and diarrhoea literally for two days I was so ill. I haven't felt as ill like this for years, I presumed it must the food at aroma because I was so full I didn't eat anything after the meal (I went for lunch) and anything before as I didn't want to fill myself so it was definitely the lassi and food their.Service was lacking a little too we were left with all our dirty plates right up until we decided to leave. Not good at all!

Wasn't sure what this restaurant was ... Italian Indian?The restaurant is modern the pizza was very good, the steak was over cooked. The drinks offer is very good and taste great. The service is not the best. Slow and forgetful.

Having driven past Aroma a number of times we eventually decided to give it a try. From the outside the restaurant looks very nice, however first impressions on our recent visit were disappointing. Access to the restaurant is through a side door which leads into a very uninviting corridor. Once inside the restaurant we were greeted by a very miserable member of staff who appeared to speak very little English. Eventually our booked table was pointed out to us in the empty restaurant. The first thing we noticed was that the menu was different to the one advertised on the website. This restaurant offers Indian, Chinese and Italian cuisine and I think that's where the problem lies, it doesn't know what it wants to be! The restaurant lacked atmosphere, the lighting was too bright and there wasn't any background music. The decor is OK but the walls are badly stained in places and in need of a repaint. The food was very nice, some of it was a little too salty for my taste but on the whole the food was fine,however the lack of atmosphere and poor service spoiled my visit. The restaurant is not licensed therefor does not sell alcohol and as far as I am aware you can't bring your own! I got the impression that the clientele is predominantly young Asians as a group of teenage girls arrived shortly after us. As a white female I felt rather uncomfortable dinning in this restaurant and would not visit again. We were made to feel unwelcome from the minute we walked in. Not one member of staff asked us if we had enjoyed our meal, nobody bothered to clear our table and we had to shout of a waiter to get the bill. The service was disgusting! Shame as the food was good. I left with the impression that Aroma only want to serve the Asian community, which is fine by me as I wont be returning or recommending!

I visited Aroma with my family. The restaurant has a very posh and formal look. Seating arrangement was reasonable and the seats were comfortable. It was quite cozy atmosphere. Staff was brilliant. They were very polite and helped us choose our food. The food was excellent and very fresh and we did not have to wait for hours. The food tasted great and we have decided to invite our friends next months to this restaurant. I have nothing but praise for the management.

This was the first time I visited the restaurant, and it will be my last! I was looking forward to this restaurant, after hearing how amazing the food was. However the food was appauling. I odered a steak sizzler, which had no steak taste, the noodles were tasteless, the chips had a salty taste and the sauce that was topped off was sickning. I am very disappointed with the food from aroma.

Personally I loved the experience and had friendly waiters. I would recommend to anyone, I had a full lamb there which was probably the best lamb I've ever had. So thank you very much and will return soon.

To be honest the food wasn't too bad it was ok , however the staff were disgustingly rude and very unhelpful!!! I asked for my meal to be changed as it had noodles which I asked not to have ... The waiter then handed me a plate and told me to "do it yourself" and the list goes on .... Absolutely fuming!!!

A very comfortable restaurant with succulent food, sizzlers on a hot place, so the food is hot and fresh for as long as possible even while eating, one of the only places to do traditional Italian stone baked pizzas, after all the chefs visited Italy just for that. Steaks, currys and everything is delicious too. And the mojitos and mules are always refreshing to drink with your good. Gets really busy on the weekends so always best to book. Highly recommend :) A pearl of a place.
