Lovely coffee. The food is excellent, innovative and always very fresh with the best ingredients. Sam and Max are always friendly and helpful and go out of their way to provide excellent service. Their staff are also brilliant. Our favourite place in Gatley. We have been customers for some 14 years which says it all.

just called in for coffee and sandwich...Coffee excellent sandwich ok????but the blonde waitress who took our order was awful ...I questioned her about the rolls they were using for a sandwich her face was like granite and she really didnt want to be bothered when i asked her the questions.....we will not be going again.

Have been going to this business for years and has never failed to disappoint 11/10 and could never give less than that!!

Went to this place with my partner today passing through on some shopping trip do not local to us. The place is great in nice weather sitting outside is lovely and service is really fast. The menu has not the same old traditional foods but a European selection which is different. Little things like the 1950.s music playing in the cafe and little decorations give this cafe a really relaxed atmosphere where you could stay for an hour or two. The service was really fast and the food was really nice. Moderately priced well. And the coffee was really nice something I don’t usually notice (cafe coffee for me usually tastes all the same). I like the little things enough milk in a jug with your coffee sugar pots not sachets and cutlery and napkins brought to you with table service. All really Good. Would be happy to return if passing through the area.

My favourite place for lunch in Gatley! Great deli items on offer too! Try the aubergine paste and fried vegetables on the shelf’s if you want to liven up your home cooking their delicious! Can’t beat the south of France inspiration baguette and an americano.

What a great find. A lovely cafe with lots of choice for lunchtime snacks. Very busy so get there early. Food delicious, would recommend.

Lovely cafe with friendly ambience. Excellent menu and delicious coffee. Locals meet every Saturday and it was a treat to join them.

This is my favourite ever cafe - love the food, love the coffee and love the people. It’s like a little holiday in the middle of the day - slow your pace and relax. Love the baclava and baguettes - just yummy!

Met with a relative for lunch and we were delighted with the range of food offered. Will definitely be paying this place another visit very soon. They also have an impressive range of wines beers and spirits for sale. Many not seen in your local supermarket.

We’ve recently moved to Gatley and this is a firm favourite. I like to support local independent traders and have visited Armenique several times since we’ve moved. I love the ambience, all the enticing goodies in the shop and Eduardo. I really like the plate salads and the home made soup. Amazingly , Eduardo bakes all his own bread every day- it’s delicious. Great paninis and bagels. Decaff coffee excellent.... and they have soya milk. I bought a bottle of the Armenian red wine - quite pricey but fabulous 🍷. I’ll be back... this week probably!

Lovely food and great staff. Were were served by Mia and Edward who were lovely and helpful. I had a prawn ciabatta and it was gorgeous, Mia was really chatty and helped us pick off the vast menu with loads of drinks and snacks. Will definitely come again.

Came in this afternoon with a couple friends, lots of coffees and healthy food to choose from. I had a really nice chicken ciabatta and the service was amazing, our waitress Mia was really nice and stayed to chat with us for a bit. A really cosy little cafe great for lunch.

You will always get cracking service here. The food is delicious and if you're ordering to take away, you're encouraged to take a seat and you have a drink brought over to you. You can tell this cafe is the family's pride and joy.

Great cafe! Ed and his team do a wonderful job, customer service is fantastic. Food is always very good, its expensive but well worth the extra you pay. Would highly recommend a visit for lunch.

This busy cafe located in Gatley serves up some lovely Mediterranean style food. We had a warm mixed Mediterranean selection of vegetables and bean salads in various dressings and sauces, full of flavour and a Tuna delight croissant with a selection of Mediterranean style vegetables as well. The freshly brewed coffee i had was rich in flavour without being bitter.The fruit smoothie was nice too. Definitely will be going back.

We have made a point of taking a detour to enjoy this wonderful cafe. The service is great and the food exceptional.

Fantastic food, great coffee. Everything made fresh like croisants and his deli display is superb. Prices are above average but so is the food. Edwardo the owner is very passionate and a lovely man.

Brought my mum and sister here for a nice quiet lunch and they were not disappointed. Thumbs up all round, especially the coffee and the igra. We will all be back 👍👏.

Decided to pop into Armenique for a quick lunch.

After a heated men's discussion group my friend and myself felt drained and peckish.This lovely cafe is situated in Gatley village.The menu is large and veg tempting for a lunch place.Delicious and unusual sandwiches together with salads and baked potato.Spoilt for choice we opted for a choice of four salads from the deli buffet.The gluten free bread was superb.On top of this I had a decaffeinated soya milk cappuccino which was perfect.My food intolerance well catered for.My pal enjoyed his meal too.A very popular place and quite rightly so.

Armenique has been a cornerstone of Gatley for many years and yet it continues to outshine every other café new or old. It throws the likes of the big multi chain coffee shops into oblivion as they cannot complete with the sheer delight of the homely atmosphere very pleasant and welcoming staff who give such a superb service. Whether you are eating in or taking out a sandwich the food is always fresh and delicious. The owner if very pleasant and always serves you with a smile while the soft music plays gently in the background their attention to detail to extremely good even offering you a free drink of orange while you wait fro you take out sandwiches. They always have exceptional cakes which are just fantastic Long may this place remain exactly as it is

We regularly visit this place for lunch,quick snack and coffee.The food is good and there are lots of healthy options and we always end up buying a good wine and some wonderful sweets.The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the service is great.we simply love it.

As ever a lovely tasty Americano with a pear and almond cake - mm yummy. The place was buzzing but the service was swift, polite and friendly. An ideal drop in or for a leisurely lunch.

My boyfriend and I passed this café regularly and always wanted to try it so yesterday we popped in for the first time. The place had a lovely, welcoming atmosphere and the walls are covered with treats you can also buy. I ordered the 4 salad and my boyfriend had one of the bagels and we both tried one of the healthy smoothies and we both thought the food was delicious. There's a nice mixture of healthy and sweet treats (I also had an almond pretzel and it was lovely) and the young girl who served us was very friendly and helpful. The food arrived quickly with bread to nibble on and the prices were reasonable. We will definitely be returning again.

Called here for lunch with my dad, very impressed. Lots of choice on the menu and food beautifully presented. Fresh crusty bread for sale, delicatessen with some scrumptious looking food and wine and beer available! What's not to like!

Love this place. A family favourite for us and very accommodating for children. The chicken special is out of this world. "Yes, have some!" It's amazebaguettes!

Mi hija ha estado aquí muchas veces y finalmente conseguí que me visita hoy. La decoración es preciosa, cómodos asientos y muy relajante, especialmente con Dean Martin jugando en el fondo. Teníamos una copa de jugo de naranja y un delicioso pollo baguette recién hecho. El servicio fue rápido y cortés, e incluso tenía un pedazo de cortesía de pistacho baklava. Sin duda volveremos.

Love this little place on the corner, the food is sublime and differnt to the everyday sandwich. I like to try all the different specials they have in the cold cabinet - mediteranian food.They also sell wines, bread and confectionary.

Wonderful family and friendly atmosphere together with wonderful choices. Very reasonsble and affordable prices. Highly recommended in the heart of Gatley Village. Good parking.

The best coffee in South Manchester & fabulous food They bake there own bread/croissants & bagels. Too many scrummy things to telly you about so just give it a try. Only a couple of minutes away from the John Lewis on the A34, give their antiseptic surroundings a miss & head over here

Lovely eatery, excellent fresh food, lots of choice and great service. Highly recommend taking a trip here. They also offer takeaway and have an array of wines available. Delicious.

This little bistro is family run and specialises in traditional fare as well as good English dishes. There are lots of organic and gluten free options too. Competitively priced.

If you are ever shopping at the various outlets on the A34 M&S John Lewis etc and need a break head here. Gatkey is the left turn at the bottom of the A34 (just before the turn for M60) and Armenique is in the center of town. Here you can drink the best coffee in Manchester, tuck into home baked bread and pastries or dine in fine style with delightful deli food. You will not be disappointed you will return.

I Work locally and myself and my colleagues try many different sandwich shops etc in the area. Nothing comes close to the service and quality of food you get at Armenique.Today I had a Brie Special on baguette, a Tuna special on a croissant with some Pipers crisps. It took just a few minutes and I got a complimentary glass of fresh orange while I waited. It is a little more expensive than the rest but you definitely get what you pay for in this case.

This is a friendly place. Call on them for a warm reception. Nice home made soup of the day, WiFi, good coffee, smiling faces. Loving touch with freshly baked bread and varieties on offer as food : they make you feel at home. Went yesterday and going again today with wife for lunch. Will write again. Lovely place at Gatley.

We've eaten here several times mainly for breakfasts and every time we have not been disappointed. The menu is simple but everything on it is tasty. Service can be a little slow when it is full but the wait is worth it.

Sometimes you stumble across a little deli/tea house and your impression the first time somewhat polarises your opinion. You tell everyone about it and the 2nd time you go you feel a bit silly because its never quite as good. Over a period of time the standard proves to be inconsistent and you go looking for another cafe/deli.Armenique does not follow this rule. It is consistently outstanding at what it does. Great coffee, cakes, sandwiches and salads. Inside reminds me of my Gran's conservatory with all the Cane furniture, but somehow this fits in with the charm.The staff are super friendly and as a result we eat there 2 or 3 times a week its that good. Keep up the excellent work.

This is a lovely little restaurant. I visited with my friend and both of our meals were delicious. The capachino was one of the best I've ever had.

A genuine hidden gem. The best coffee in south Manchester, home baked French Bread & Bagels and brilliant deli food. Just go once for Lunch & have a coffee & chicken special Baguette, I guarantee you will be returning.Tucked away in the center of Gatley it may seem off the beaten track but is is a stones throw from John Lewis & just off the junction of the A34 & the M60.

Warm friendly atmosphere, lovely food, always made to feel welcome to a relaxing environment. The food is delicious, tasteful and unique. The village is lucky to have the best restaurant in Greater Manchester.

Why can't this be found by searching TripAdvisor for restaurants in Gatley? it is such a gem .. every time I visit this place I leave feeling relaxed and comforted... and that's just the atmosphere and the wait service. The food and coffee are lovely.. the deli case is a delight to look at and all of the salads are fresh, well seasoned and tasty. I plan to return soon... (also - excellent value for money! )

My wife and I just had lunch - always a pleasure. A really wonderful selection of breads with exciting fillings, a counter of varied salads and a whole lot of "goodies" to buy and take home. Eduardo and his staff are most friendly but it's not just that - everything I have ever had there has been top quality and the coffee is great.

Love the tea and cakes at this friendly café and obviously lots of people do, as it was very busy even early on a Monday morning - will definitely be back as the tea is wonderful in particular.

The reviews on this site are spot on. Someone on here mentioned the chicken special sandwich being great. It is. I could have eaten another. In fact, I wanted to help myself to one of everything in the shop. Delicious food served by very nice people. The man who served us appeared to be the owner. He was a gent.We will be returning.

Caught my eye whilst I was wondering how to kill time in Gatley. Lived up to expectations-great atmosphere, fantastic selection of delis, wines, coffee and specialty beers. My Spanish delicioso did not disappoint. Will definitely be back with my wife-she'll be impressed. Well done

As well as serving excellent food in the restaurant, they also prepare and deliver the same quality that other reviewers have commented on for a buffet. We have used them twice already - and they are catering for another party this weekend. All our guests commented on both the interesting variety and quality of the food. No problems with vegetarian options if you need them. The quantities are very generous. Edward and his staff are very helpful, and will discuss and deliver exactly what you want. You need do nothing other than provide a pace to spread the dishes out - table covers, napkins, plates and cutlery are included.Very strongly recommended!

My daughter and i have enjoyed many lunches here. The beautifully family run restaurant is absolutely fabulous.The food is delicious so fresh, lots of choices all home made, and cakes to die for. This place is the perfect little spot for lunch, located in Gatley village, yet when you step inside and smell the fresh breads and hear the jazz music, you feel like you are transported somewhere else. Armenique prides themselves on fresh ingredients and homemade dishes, and due to their unfaltering dedication to this they provide an exquisite meal every time! Their butternut squash soup is the best I have ever tasted. Their sandwiches are made on fresh breads (bagels, ciabattas, baguettes etc) made on the premises with mouthwatering meats and salads - all for excellent value!The staff are very friendly and will do all they can to please and because of this - along with their excellent food - this is now my weekly treat for lunch!

Went along last Saturday lunchtime with 3 friends. We all had teas/coffees & 3 of us had something to eat - bagel, croissant & a ciabatta, all with tasty fillings. Service from the owner & his wife was friendly & when we asked for a variation on one order, it was no trouble for them. We left having bought 5 or 6 pastries & 3 tubs of delicious side orders - couscous, potato wedge salad & borany & it cost just over £32. What fantastic value for money. No wonder it's busy. They deserve to do well. They treat every customer as if they were good friends & I suspect many are. As Arnie said "We'll be back"!

Visited with a friend as it is her regular - been before a few years back and it is a nice, homey place with a lovely ambience. We had wanted to try the breakfast buffet but sadly this was withdrawn due to low take up. We ordered croissants, a chicken panier, coffee and hot chocolate. I was told that everything is baked fresh in store and the chicken panier was really lovely - wouldn't have minded more!! Coffee was good and I loved the music selection. It was quiet so we were able to linger and stay as long as we wanted. Service was friendly and warm. If I lived nearer the area, would probably visit more often. Armenique is certainly a gem and highly recommended!!

It's an ambitious claim, but definitely true!!Armenique is a fabulous deli/ cafe that serves a range of mezze and sandwiches throughout the day.All of the bread and pastries used are baked on the premises so everything's beautifully fresh, so on to the chicken sandwiches...Teh Armenique chicken special is a baguette with a warm grilled chicken and salad filling, the dressing used is the secret and is absolutely delicious.The staff at Armenique are always friendly and the coffee's great too.If you're in South Manchester or near the airport this place is well worth a visit.

Can't speak highly enough of this place. Bagels baked to perfection. Lovely tradition cosy interior. Unpretentious good food. Staff polite and sincere. Very good value for money. Need more places like this.
