Istanbul Bar and Grill in Stockport

Myself and my husband had a lovely lunch , a 2 course meal for under £13. Food and service was excellent . Definitely looking forward in dining at the Istanbul Grill Marple again.

Four of us went at lunchtime, and had their special menu. Not expensive and truly yummy. Recommend this place

Great authentic place to eat. We went on a chill afternoon and found it cosy, staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was just amazing and Turkish coffee to die for.

Lovely friendly place . Only nipped in for a couple of cocktails but made to feel very welcome and delicious cocktails .

Lovely fresh vibrant food , full of flavours & spices, breads were wonderful. Only dip was service hence 4 star but will def be back for more soon

We loved our time at your restaurant. We were a large group celebrating a family birthday. This place ticked all the boxes; generous portions of great tasting food, efficient hospitable, personal service, good music/entertainment (belly dancer)/ambience and a good choice of drinks at the bar. If I were to make one recommendation it would be to lower the music slightly. All in all everyone came away fully enjoying the evening. Thank you.

Fairly large restaraunt but service a bit slow and food acceptable but not astounding. We only tried this once but were put off by this, we should make an effort to try it again as I don't like leaving negative feedback but with so many good eateries in Hazel Grove these days we just haven't got round to it yet.

Firstly the restaurant has changed its name to topkapi I was very dubious as I have never been to anything like this before. I should not have worried as it was brilliant . The food the service there was a special menu of two courses for 15.99 which had plenty of choice on it we chose to have a la charts as we only wanted a main course there was plenty to choose from I chose a chicken sizzler which I really enjoy other had alame kebab and the other chose the mixed grill all of which were perfectly cook and served it is liceced I will certainly be going again and would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant

Went for a random walk.. walked past this place and went back. Read the menu outside. And decided to try it out... The food was beautiful and we will definitely be going back. Great job.. and brilliant service.

Visited Sat 15th April This restaurant is now called "TOPKAPI" . Great Party Night, great atmosphere, nice people, great Belly Dancer Fabulous menu and great food. Staff were very friendly and courteous. I am looking forward to my next visit.

We chose to spend our family Christmas eve here. The atmosphere was very cheerful and merry as you would expect. Lots of different food to choose from - so much that it was hard to decide! For six of us the bill came to £150 which wasn't too bad.

I visited here a few times last year and really enjoyed it - the food was touch and go, sometimes good, sometimes not so good but the atmosphere was great and it kept us coming back. There was a DJ on and a belly dancer who used to get people up dancing and it always felt vibrant and lively even if it wasn't so busy. My husband and I came a few weeks ago and it seems the restaurant has changed hands - a few familiar faces but a new name. The food was good - hence the 3 stars - but the atmosphere was flat. There was no real DJ to speak of and the dancer seemed new/inexperienced, no crowd interaction. A real shame. It used to be a great place to come for couples or friends but I'm not sure I'll be back again.

Went early Monday night. the food was delicious and service was good. At the end of the meal the waiter bought over a dessert that he asked us to try and give feedback free of charge.....a lovely touch

Got to be one of my favourite restaurants! The staff are amazing. You couldn't ask for a better bunch of staff. You walk in and they treat you just like they would treat their closest friends / family. The food is amazing!!!! Cocktails are amazing. We love coming here. Keep doing what your doing!

Lovely food, staff really helpful and entertainment was excellent! Would defo go again.....I'd say larger groups would appreaciate it than a 'couple' as a romantic night

Went a wedding reception at this restaurant. The food was exceptional and despite the fact that 60+ people were being served all the food came out piping hot. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient so everyone was eating more or less at the same time. A brilliant day made possible by the food and staff. I will be revisiting when it re-opens in two weeks.

I visited with family last week and had a really good time, staff were attentive but drinks did take a short while once ordered, the food was very nice we all enjoyed our meals. There was music later on and a birthday party that were in seemed to really enjoy it and even got up to dance.

I went to the Istanbul Bar & Grill in November with my girlfriend. Food and service was pretty good, the place wasn't too busy, but there was enough atmosphere to keep the place buzzing. What was slightly odd was the guitar playing waiter who suddenly struck up a tune unexpectedly and then continued to play for the next hour or so, sadly it amp was turned up a bit too much so made conversation a little tricky, but that did drown out the chatter from the hen party which descended on the restaurant shortly after we had received our starters.Needs a little work, but could be worth another visit.

Very speedy service and great food full of flavour. As always the service was friendly, helpful and timely.Try it out you would love this Turkish restaurant.

We were on our way back from L:yme Park [That's another story] and by chance we found this restaurant - we always like to try a new place to eat at, we were not disappointed with the food mand drink and at £9.95 for the lunchtime menu - a large choice to choose from.We were spoilt for choice from beginning to to end - the service was excellent, it was modern and clean: = Brilliant atmosphere. We would definitely come back again and highly recommend it = There is also a free car park in the side street to the left, within walking distance from the Istanbul Bar and Grill restaurant.This would be an ideal place for a large gathering [ ie christmas or birthday party], get in while the going is good.

We found this restaurant by accident, driving past on the A6 stuck in traffic. We thought we would try somewhere new for lunch and we were not disappointed. Four of us had the £9.95 lunch menu and there was a great choice of dishes for starters and mains. The cheese parcels in filo pastry were delicious as was the lamb kofta with rice. The service was very good and the restaurant itself is very clean and modern. We would definitely go back - to be recommended. There is free car parking in the side street to the left within walking distance.

Me and my little boy had a meal here, the food was amazing and plenty of it even the kids meals were big and the staff were really helpful, polite and chatty which was nice, one of the waiters even took the time to find out the football score for my son.Highly recommend this place and definitely will be going back soon.

We went here for our works Christmas party and what a night it was, 3 course amazing meal (food was delicious), belly dancer & DJ later on. What a fabulous night, we actually should have moved on to different places after the meal but we stayed put because we were having a brilliant night! A massive thank you to all the excellent staff & Hassan the owner, you made our Christmas night out the best x

13 came here last night for our christmas works party and we could not fault it! All the staff were brilliant and the food was exceptional. Brilliant atmosphere with live music/dj, dance floor and belly dancing. Will be returning 100% brilliant.

Our second visit and not disappointed . Good service and lovely medditeranian food.Wine and food all very reasonable. Menu had GF options showing which made it very easy for me to pick. Friendly atmosphere and a belly dancer late on Saturday night. Great night out.

Had a gorgeous meal Saturday night with friends. Staff are fantastic! Loved that the belly dancer had us up dancing then afterward we had a good dance! Fantraeyic atmosphere! Highly recommend this gorgeous restaurant. Thank you all!! ❤️

Always love it here, the staff are always lovely and the food is lovely to, great service, great prices and the entertainment is always fun. Check out the belly dancer on weekends it's sure a night to remember.! Loved having a dance afterward and enjoyed the cocktails. Best to book in advance.

Part of a 20+ group for a birthday celebration. Plenty of space with an open layout. It certainly wasn't rushed but we were there all evening and we were a large crowd, so did well to get food served together. The food itself was good, and plenty of it - the sheesh kebabs included plenty of meat and were well cooked. There was a belly dancer after dinner, which was good fun, and got everyone up on the dance floor. Staff were very friendly, and drinks sensibly priced.

First time here on A Saurday Evening, I orderd a takeaway for 3 whick took 40 mins so good for a saturday evening.Food was tasty and fresh, we had lamb kebabs, chicken kebabs, humus a chicken wrap which cost £37 in total which I thought expensive dor to go food.I qill go again but order 2 mains plus some sides to cut the price down towards what a good chinese would cost..I highly recommend the Istanbul for great food and service on the high end.

Went here with my partner on a Friday night I had broken my leg the staff were so helpful and friendly the atmosphere brilliant and the food excellent will definitely be going here again and again

Our main meals were a disappointment the so called spicy lamb casserole was very bland and not at all creamy and the lamb kebab was no better than a takeaway the tomato sauce was like watered down ketchup and the meat was cold in the middle when we complained the server said "oh" and just walked away would not recommend at all.

Great food and entertainment on a Saturday night. The belly dancer was a great laugh and gets 'volunteers' up to dance... me being one!

We popped into this establishment on a lunch time. The place was deserted so service was understandably very quick. The food was incredible, but delicious and tender. We will definitely be returning.

Food tasted good and portions generous and reasonablely priced service efficient and friendly atmosphere buzzing. Def not place for quiet meal on Fridays when there was live music (guitarist) and some big groups eating.

I made my fourth visit to the Istanbul this week end.On all four occasions I have found the food good, plentiful and very reasonably priced.Also it is right next to the local Weatherspoon's so a reasonably priced evening out can be had in almost one stop.HOWEVER The noise generated inside the restaurant made it difficult hear conversation on my own table.There was on the night of my visit a singer. His music was good but far too loud. I twice asked the management if they would lower the sound level and on both occasion they said they would but did not. Further, there was a belly dancer; again good in her own right but the music backing her routine was louder than an aircraft taking off!In the end we rushed our main course, dodged dessert and coffees and departed for somewhere we could talk.On my second visit much the same thing happened but I had given them the benefit of the doubt. I shall not go again; which is a pity as decent food is served at reasonable prices.

My Wife and I visited the restaurant Last night Fri 29/7/16 on my Daughters say so.The staff very nice the place very nice the quality of the food very very good.The problem is with the portion size of the mixed grill? 1 Lamb chop 1 tiny pieceof marinated lamb fillet no more than 28 grm. 5 small pieces of donner meat no more than 56 Grm 1 slice of chicken breast 56 Gram if that they would of got five slices off one breast? So disappointing, So I am thinking they had an off night with portion control. As everything else ticked the box

Went with three friends on a Friday night. Really nice starters, we ended spitting them as they were all fantastic. Main courses weren't bad and the draught beer was very good. The staff seemed friendly and on the ball. Would go there again.

Went for a birthday meal with a group of friends having chosen from the party menu.The menu choices are limited but adequate.The food was rather poor with a number of dishes having to be sent back. Given the price I would have expected better. Not altogether unenjoyable though I would comment that a number of the party did have slightly dicky tummies the next day.On the plus side, the staff were attentive and friendly and did try to resolve the issues though it has to be said when alternative dishes were brought these too were disappointing.I have heard good reports of the place so perhaps it's just the party menu to be avoided.

Had the best time here yesterday for a wedding. Service was top notch, food was delicious and the restaurant is beautiful. Pretty average. Main courses ok, didn't stay for desserts as still in shock that I paid £5.50 for 3 rings of Calamari!!!!!!!Also the fact that it was as hot as Istanbul inside but not outside didn't help!Won't be going back

Been coming here for last 18mths and realised I've not left a review. The place is outstanding as they make you feel like the most important person there is. The food is beautiful lux mezze, prawn casserole, vine leaves, the list is endless. Then the cocktails.. Best ever, the pride in the creation of these is fantastic and are well received . Strongest and most beautifully presented. We feel part of their family every time we visit and that is why we come back time and time again. Amazing food, company, drinks, atmosphere why go anywhere else... Thank you for making our nights out! Love Jo xx

We had starter Lux mezze was very good.Main chicken and lamb sizzlers not good very sweet like curry. Mix grill was not bad. My be try different food next time.

We went for an early meal as a family get together and this was our first visit.The menu was very comprehensive and they offered an excellent Early dinner menu of 2 courses for a set price of £13.95. The food was nicely presented and the staff friendly.Will definitely be back

This restaurant and bar in hazel grove is a lovely place to visit and not only does it have a great atmosphere (especially on a weekend when they have a belly dance show and a dj) the food is really tasty. The staff are all super friendly, especially the main owner/manager who you will see getting stuck in behind the bar or waiting on customers making sure the customers are all having a great time and they are enjoying the food. I have visited here with friends and also family and have never been disappointed with the service, food and general atmosphere, granted parking can be a bit of a nightmare but generally if people are coming for a night out they usually get a taxi anyway. You can tell this is a family run restaurant as its a happy and friendly vibe with the staff who are happy to have some friendly banter and a dance with the customers when the belly dancer performs and when the dj starts his set. This is a great place to celebrate a party or event but in the same token to come and have a chilled out meal with family or loved ones -it is a down to earth genuine place so don't go in with a chip on your shoulder as ok it's not Michelin star but it's yummy food, great staff and a fab night out in the centre of hazel grove :-)

This place came recommended to us by friends so we decided to give it a go. Took about 15 minutes for someone to take our drinks order then about 15 minutes more for drinks to arrive. The waiter had been wandering aimlessly with the drinks and kept going back to the bar. Our food order was taken a good 20 - 25 mins after being seated. I'm not a fan of lamb and since that's almost the entire menu I was limited for choice. I ordered the chefs special chicken. I dread to think what the special part was - it even smelt funny when it was put in front of me. I tasted OK but very bland and the food was not cheap either. The starters and the cocktail we ordered were nice but by the time it came to getting the bill there was a belly dancer to contend with so all the waiters had stood over the other side of the room so they were out of the way. I couldn't wait to get out and I wont be going back.

Got a take out for my birthday, thought it was great 1st order 10% off, get home !!! No child's meal (cost £7), then open the tomato a onion salad it's a salad garnish , also my husbands kebab says served with nan, they dnt serve nan only pitta, had to go back to change the wrong food. Prawn kebab starter , cost £7 = 3 prawns

We have been a few times. When it first opened and more recently for the set lunch.I love Mediterranean food and this did not disappoint.The sizzlers are lovely. It was all very tasty and good quality.We had a takeaway once, but it was not as nice for some reason....and one starter was missing but we couldn't be bothered to complain. Service was good and most of the staff very friendly. The owner was hospitable and keen to make the place a success.We were treated very well. I would recommend it for a nice lunch or special occasion.

Walked and was welcomed like old friends.Plenty of choice on the menu, lovely food served by friendly and attentive staff.Spent a lovely evening with my wife celibrating our 45th wedding anniversary. Would recommend a vista and we will be returning soon.

We've been here once before and it was great, but it just wasn't happening today, the staff seemed uninterested, the service was poor and unattentive, and a plain dish came out spicy, the non drinks are expensive too.

Six of us ate here last night, we chose here because they advertised entertainment on Saturdays. We were seated at a large circular table which was very comfortable for 6 people. The interior is well decorated and had a great atmosphere. All the staff were pleasant and friendly. There was a wide variety of food to choose from on the menu. Some us chose the 'party menu' 3 courses for £19.95 which was highly recommended. The entertainment was fun - belly dancing and live music. All six of us said we would eat here again. Great night out !

I had the party menu and the food was great. Went on a Saturday night so it was busy but the staff were really good. Belly dancer on as well along with live music. One thing I noticed is that people f all ages were in and enjoying themselves. Great night would recommend this place an I will be going again.

Myself & 7 others (quadruple date lol) decided to try here for our quarterly catch up! All of us ordered very different dishes, starters and mains each. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. The prosecco & beers available were varied and nice. I will certainly be revisiting soon!

Booked a table here at 8:30 and when we arrived our table was not quite ready but by the time we'd got a drink at the bar the table was sorted. The restaurant was packed and there was live music and a belly dancer! The food was very nice - served quickly and all of the staff were very good - we will be back!

We went here earlier in March as a party of 13 and then again as a party of 4. Both times the food has been great. The meze to share is fab starter but doesn't leave much room for main course! I've had the lamb kleftiko and the shared mixed grill and found both to be really nice. Both times the place has been very quiet which is a shame as we've had great food and good service both times, but has allowed us to walk in without booking last night.

We made a booking with them for my dad's 60th Birthday celebrations and with easter falling on the same weekend we thought we would try something different, and we had heard what an excellent place the Istanbul Grill was from friends. We placed our booking for a table of 8 adults and 1 child, but two days before our booking they telephoned us wanting us to pre order all our food now number 1 none of us had been before and didn't know what was on the menu, number 2 having never been before we didn't know what a lot of the dishes on the menu are and number 3 we were taking 6 year old with us who was being expected to know what she wanted to eat in two days time and then expecting her to still want that chosen dish on the day, are the staff and management at Istanbul Grill insane what kind of restaurant asks their customers to pre order food they know nothing about. Needless to say we cancelled our booking with them and are now going to an Indian restaurant instead so more fool the idiots that run Istanbul Grill they lost out on probably around a £300+ bill from our large group plus the potential of repeat custom as I won't ever be visiting their restaurant after this pathetic fiasco.

Came here tonight to celebrate "special" birthdays. We had read the somewhat disappointing reviews but decided to come anyway as we have previously had some lovely meals here. Sad to say that we were extremely disappointed. We came for the early bird menu. Food was no where near as good as it has been previously, food that was on the menu as coming with crushed potatoes came with rice. A few of our group ordered piri piri chicken which is supposed to come with tzatziki ... some got tzatziki, some didn't! You no longer get the glass of fizz with the early bird menu either! The restaurant wasn't even busy - I think there were only a couple of other small tables in there! Needless to say we will not be returning - such a let down.

Came here for joint birthday meal and it was Fantastic! Tasted perfect, friendly staff, very punctual, good portions and tasted amazing!!

Went to the restaurant on Mother's Day - absolutely loved it! The restaurant was busy with it being a special occasion, but we had no complaints. Food took a while to come but I was happy to wait the extra few minutes because when it came it was DELICIOUS. My party all had different things - I had a chicken and mushroom dish, one had a salmon dish, one had a traditional kebab and the other had a peri-peri chicken wrap. All of them were amazing, we raved about them - portion sizes were fantastic and the food was served hot and fresh.To top it all off, when we asked for the bill they brought over a free gift for the 'mum' of the group - a bottle of prosecco! Really nice touch and a great ending to a great meal. Can't wait to go back and try something else off the menu.

Went here on a whim with a party of 12. Before arriving we were worried that we hadn't booked, No need to worry though, a large establishment but plenty of empty tables!...It was fairly early on a Sunday evening, so we put it down to that. One pleasant waiter, one surly waiter and a waitress hanging about in the background watching us all!...At the rear of the restaurant is an "open" kitchen where we noticed the chef staring at us while we were deciding from the menu, this made us all feel rather awkward!....Overpriced food and drink, also check your bill at the end. We had a £25 service charge.

I've been here for birthdays, girly nights out and Mothers Day. I was first introduced to Istanbul Grill in December 2015, I wasn't expecting much as my mum said she went for the opening night and it wasn't great. Well I bloody loved it! I have been numerous times since (in fact, the know my name!) and I've always had Amazing food and great cocktails, and as far as I'm concerned, both food and drink are reasonably priced for the area and with the amount of food you get, it's definitely worth it! I'm always well fed!The last time I went was with my family for Mother's Day and although it was getting busy, the staff were still attentive yet not overwhelming, which I like. Not only did my mum get a free cocktail, but also a free bottle of Prosecco at the end of the night! A lovely gesture!I can't understand why it's getting more and more bad reviews because I've always had impeccable service and gorgeous food! And they play decent music too!I can see this being a place I come back to time and again!

Thank you for an amazing quality food and service. We had a great day for mothers day Sunday, it was delicious. I loved the atmosphere and also at the end, when we asked for the bill, I received a bottle of wine for mothers day gift on the house. Which I found it amazing. Not every restaurant would give out a bottle of wine as present to their every customer. It was very surprising and exciting for mothers. I would recommend the place for everyone to try it, their food and service is outstanding. Prices are very good for a restaurant like this. I also found out that on a weekend (Fridays and Saturdays) they have live music and a belly dancer, which is very entertaining. Amazed from the atmosphere.

Before I write about how much I was amazed from this restaurant, I would like to say one thing. I have just read couple of ladies comments and it upset me as a customer also ruined other customers night. On a mothers day Sunday night, we were sat behind a party group of 10 ladies. We could see and hear there point of view, trying to get a cheap meal and kept talking to each other about having a half price bill. They were very rude to staff, didn't like the food but ate it all. At the end of the night they become very wild, started shouting at the middle of the restaurant, staff was trying hard to take the control. Which no other restaurant will give a discount if you are rude to them(It isn't all about the customer). They were all swearing at the manager and staff because the food was horrible and staff wasn't nice. Including ourselves, every other customers have said to staff and manager, don't take people like this serious. Staff is doing an amazing job. I am very sorry but some people have to have manners first (doesn't matter if you are a customer, workers are human, no need for swearing in the middle of the restaurant and trying to get a cheap meal). It is not a chippy shop, it's a restaurant and prices are absolutely normal. I would like to appreciate and thank to all staff and manager, as they have still deal with them in control and were so nice to them. I wouldn't even bother at all. I love this place, food, service and everything is delicious. I will come go back any time and enjoy my meal. Very friendly workers and warm atmosphere.Thank You Istanbul Bar & Grill

Had a two hour wait for terrible food. Bad service apparently after one hour the till breaks down so order had to be taken again so more extortionate drinks had to fill the gap! No free nibbles and nothing off the bill if it had not been a birthday party or I had arranged it I would of walked out and gone to McDonald's for a far superior meal.

We visited this restaurant to celebrate Mother's Day a group of 10 mums. Previously having excellent service and food we were hopeful to have the same experience but how wrong we were. The service was an utter shambles with a menu only being offered after we requested one 20 minutes after being shown to the table. The main course took 2hours to come and was only Luke warm on arriving even tho a 'sizzler ' dish had been ordered by most of our party. I was hugely disappointed with all aspects of the evening and the attitude of the 'manager' who refused to see any fault in the way he ran the restaurant or the poor service we had received. Such a shame that a once very welcoming, good food establishment has been ruined by what seems a change in staffing and a no concern for the customers approach.Will not be dining here again any time soon.

My second visit to this establishment and it was excellent as on my previous visit. This time we were a party of 10 to celebrate my niece's 21st Birthday. Our table was booked for 9pm on a Thursday night to allow for distance travellers. While we waited we availed ourselves of the hospitality at the Wetherspoons located next door. Once again we were able to decorate the tables beforehand and bring our own cake. On entering the restaurant it was obviously a quiet time with only one other similar sized party inside and all the other tables unoccupied. On the plus side this meant that the staff could concentrate on serving us which came in handy. Everyone ordered drinks including some cocktails but I stuck to Efes Lager again being a bit old for Porn Star Martinis etc etc etc. There have been a few minor changes to the menu and the garlic bread is now a more manageable size which is a good thing. I never thought I'd applaud a portion size decreasing but it makes sense in this case. I ordered my usual Spicy Turkish Sausage and it was excellent again. There were a few alternate choices made but I can only comment on what I observed first hand. The wife, sat opposite, ordered a Prawn Cocktail which looked great and which she enjoyed very much. For main, mixed grill was a popular choice but I opted for a Piri Piri Chicken Kebab which was absolutely delicious. The rich piquant sauce on the well-cooked tasty chicken pieces was fantastic. The accompanying salads and rice were good also with the only thing I'm not too keen on being Tzatziki. I gave it a go but it's not my favourite dip. The wife chose a Feta Salad which proved too much for her moderate appetite but it looked really nice. Everyone seemed to enjoy their selections and I didn't hear a single complaint. Service was very friendly and efficient once again and the drinks kept coming. When the cake was brought out the staff sang happy birthday which was a nice touch. I know I said this last time but me and the wife are definitely going to visit on our own and soon. As we had to be up early in the morning we left with the cocktails still flowing. We left £50 for our share of the bill which I estimated was about right with enough to contribute to a tip. Pretty good value in my opinion for two courses and two drinks each.

Normally love it here but the service in a half busy place today has been "eye opening" waiters that swear 1hr before drinks or menus given, 2hrs before served a main meal! wrong drinks served and not one apology until it's asked for very shocked and left a bitter taste in the mouth (and that's not the Luke warm chicken I ate) of a lovely Mother's Day very disappointed and wouldn't recommend if their was my first visit very upset!! We had sizzlers that didn't sizzle and when we approached the owner about it he just seemed adamant he wasn't taking anything off the bill when I personally spoke to him and said its not a matter of a refund it's a apology and asked him to come to the table to apologise he said he would but never did we have had some great nights in here we even forgave the fact when booking they said they would have a belly dancer as mothers day but they didn't just a total wash out and not the service we come to expect so I expect we will not be back!!!

Firstly don't plan to drive here as there's no restaurant parking, just side streets with double yellow lines.On entry to Istanbul it is a large vibrant place. The bar is separate and we had to order our drinks directly from there due to no one taking orders.The food was pre ordered weeks ago from a set menu which came in dribs and drabs and some wrong. To be fair the starters were edible.Main course was good too but the waiting times were poor and disjointed.They had a Turkish belly dancer on and disco which got the place energised however, this place needs to focus more on what it's supposed to do, to serve authentic Turkish food on time and together.Wouldn't rush back but maybe try again sometime in the distant future.

Myself and my partner visited this restaurant yesterday..... It was empty but we thought it was Tuesday night at 8.40 so cut them some slack... It smelt like a cafe when we got there so we was going to leave albeit we were hungry... Well I remember the manager (and think the owner) looking at his clock on the wall as we arrived to view the time and that coupled with the smell I should have turned around and gone to the proper Istanbul grill down the road in Cheadle. But I didn't. We were served by the barman as the owner played backgammon at the bar area.... The food was appalling and even though we attempted to give feedback his only view was that we were trying to avoid paying for food I wouldn't have given my dog! He was very dismissive of my view ( even though I had expressed to him that my girlfriend was upset that she had bought me here for a nice meal where she lives) he was defensive and looking for a reason to defend his establishment on every point, which is shame as I was trying to help! When we said a lot of the food (which is very pricey in my view) was not good at all he just didn't see it... I will never return to a restaurant that simply isn't interested in feedback from a customer and when I asked him if he was interested in me returning he said no!!!Enough said....

We tried this restaurant yesterday for the first time, having enjoyed many meals at the Istambul in Cheadle. What a disasters! I ordered shredded chicken with walnuts as a starter and got baby mush. I chose lamb sizzler as my main course. Their first offering was not sizzling. The food was only warm. Their second effort was sizzling with a plate of onions with some gristle and very tough lamb pieces. In fairness, my companion's food was good, but I will not be returning to eat here again.

Loved it here! Easy car park/ public transport access, air con, ranged wine and drinks list, varied menu and will cater as much for you as possible. Steak was cooked to perfection 10/10 for hygiene. Really lovely staff! Will be back again perfect for any occasion :)

I came with friends it was a good night the food is good we had chicken and prawn casserole and hummus, the best I've ever had! Falafels very good and I appreciate the sauce mint! Nice place suggest trying

Mistake taking a prebooked and deposit paid group on a saturday night. Rammed with a number of other similar groups. Expected to wait for meals, but table for 18 instead of 20, sorted but a squeeze. Food came . Some cold rice, stringy sirloin, nothing special. Atmosphere saved it , belly dancing and lively atmosphere. Not as good as last time we went.

We had a group night out on Friday 5th October. The staff were very attentive, the food good but most of all I felt the staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience. There was live music of a high standard followed by dancing. They joined in with us once the serving was finished and made a massive contribution to our night out. We all had the best night! Thank you to that team!

Went here with a group of friends. Booked in advance easy enough and were seated immediately.Lots of Turkish and fusion food available, I had soup and my friends had spicy sausage to start followed by my favourite dish of moussaka so maybe i could have been more adventurous in my choices.Meal was ok. nothing wrong with it but nothing outstanding which again could well have been down to me picking that dish. Wine and beer were good quality, service was excellent. Belly dancer livened things up a bit and was a pleasant addition to the evening. All in all a pleasant evening, might try further afield next time around though.

Had a fantastic time here on Christmas Eve ( food, entertainment, service ) so decided to hold my mums surprise 80th birthday celebration here. There was approx 25 including young children and everyone was blown away with the warm welcome,food and the service was excellent.There is an early bird menu which i highly recommend which includes a glass of bubbly!!My family loved it, mums cake was presented to her at the end of the meal which they gave everyone as a dessert the whole evening was faultless.Thanks again.

£40 a person for a meal that consisted of a meze starter probably fresh last week - steak tougher than my old man's boots and still "alive" and baklava (reasonably OK) with a dollop of cheap ice cream. Extortionate drinks prices. What a rip off - had better takeaways for a quarter of the price. This place won't be seeing our family again.

Visited here the 18th December as part of a party group of about 15 people on our works party.We went for the festive menu which was £30 a head.I had meatballs to start with(all 3 of the)and a little piece of limp flatbread.I had the Turkish mixed grill for main,which was ok.On the plate was mainly cheap cuts of meat.I thought what looked like as all piece of steak,mistaken it was a burger.No chips with it just a bit of rice,no sauce with it.I keep saying this time and time again.It cost hardly anything to put bowls of chips,fries call them what you want,on the table plentiful.Nice bread and fries should come as standard compliments.I had cheesecake for desert which was ok,probably the best part of the meal.The service was good,special mention to Jose.I know the restaurant was busy so may try again at a quieter time.I also hope the management take my advice on the Fries and bread......

We went to Istanbul bar and grill on New Year's Eve it cost £40 per head and never again will this place see my money starters was a Meze platter which was poor the main course I had the sirloin steak and was horrified it was a cheap fatty piece of frying steak I asked for my steak medium and everyone,s on our table who ordered the steak got it the same super rare absolute rip off the whole meal wasn't even worth £10 let alone £40 rip off merchants who won't see the colour of my money again

What a absolute shambles ... The food was awful £40 per adult and £20 kids .. The steak was frying steak not sirloin!!!! It was all rushed and cold ... The waiters were only interested in all the " Turkish " customers ... Absolute crap night ..never will we step foot in there again !!!

We came here for a work Christmas party on a Saturday night. There was plenty of choice on the Christmas menu and the food was generally good although I often find Turkish food a bit bland. The highlight was the entertainment with a belly dancer followed by a DJ and everyone got up for a bit of a dance after a few drinks!

We went on a works night out and all of us had a great time.the cocktails were reasonably priced, although i was the driver The food was amazing, very well presented and was cooked to perfection, the place was very busy but we were served quickly without much of a wait between courses.All the staff were very pleasant.There was a belly dancer doing the rounds too.All our party enjoyed the night, not bad for a bunch of caterers we will definitely go again

Visited for work's xmas function. Booked table for 15. Arrived and was welcomed immediately. staff kept contact with us egarding when we wnated to be seated. Food was delicious. portions VERY big. Starter of mixed mezze was amazing! Even though it had been a limited menu choice for the function, everyone enjoyed all their main courses, from fish to steak and chicken. al were well received. Desserts were ver large again and the baklava was delicious. Drinks were reasonably priced and there was a dancer and a diso so it was an ideal venue for a group. Definately will return. staff were friendly and helpful.

Food was gorgeous and the atmosphere was great although don't expect to be able to talk over the music.We sat down at 8.30pm and received out starters at after 20 minutes- great. BUT we then waited nearly two hours for our main course!! It was busy but seriously, 2 hours is ridiculous!

We had an amazing time. The food was gorgeous, the cocktails were amazing but most of all the staff were adorable. They genuinely are not happy if their customers are not happy so they go above and beyond. Every time I so much as moved I got a free shot! Would definitely recommend and I can't wait to go again x

I've been passed this restaurant many times and have finally decided to book a meal here for a family birthday, it was was one of the best decisions I have made, the restaurant looked lovely inside and we were greeted by very friendly staff who looked after us through out the night. Our table were covered in balloons which was a lovely surprise, everything we ordered was amazing from lamb kebabs to the mix grill and don't forget the garlic bread. Too top the night of the birthday boy received a complimentary slice of cake with a candle in which the whole restaurant sang happy birthday which was a lovely touch. I would recomend this restaurant to all family and friends the food and staff are amazing

Had a great meal the quality was great and the efes was great, memories of my second home.Would recommend you try it .

I had heard quite disappointing things about Istanbul grill so when a friend suggested we go I did pull my face! But I went along and I was surprised the restaurant is lovely, the portions are big, great value for money and the most important thing of all the food was amazing !!! I am definitely going back

We came to this restaurant for the first time on 20/10/15. We've wanted to try it for a while and wasn't disappointed ! We had 5 different meals between us and they were all lovely, the kids loved it to, and one of the waiters gave my son a teddy ( he was very happy) all the staff were very polite and friendly. Prices are reasonable and the flavours were amazing! Can't wait to go again X

Lucky enough to live near here so been a few times and love the place. The menu is really varied and all dishes I've tried have been delicious. Restaurant is quite big so can therefore seem fairly quiet midweek, but this is the best time to go! Waiters are all really friendly and attentive and nothing is too much trouble; you're made to feel special. Oh and did I mention that the food is amazing!!!

Went for my sisters hen do, fab atmosphere and gorgeous food, would definately recommend :) generous portions and very tasty, didn't wait very long for food to come through either

Been three times now with different friends always had an excellent meal love the belly dancing & Greek music like being on holiday!! Staff lovely and really look after you, all in all a great night , very reasonable price too !
