ARMAN INDIAN in South Bucks

I decided to try Arman Restaurant in Denham, hoping for a proper Indian dining experience. Instead, I got bland food, supermarket chutney, and a waiter who seemed to be in a rush to get me out the door. I started with prawns purée, which was completely forgettable—no masala, no real flavor, just there. The papadum came with a chutney that was clearly store-bought. If I wanted supermarket condiments, I wouldn’t be paying restaurant prices. Then, as I was still having my starters, the waiter kept asking, “Should I get the main course?” I mean, seriously? Let me finish my food first! It felt like they were trying to speed-run my meal instead of letting me enjoy it. Now, let’s talk about the butter chicken—and I use that term loosely. It was absolutely terrible. No richness, no proper flavor, just a disappointing mess on a plate. When I mentioned this, the waiter had the nerve to tell me that I don’t know the real taste. The irony? I’ve worked in restaurants and run a food blog, so I know exactly what good food should taste like. To top it off, the service was as bad as the butter chicken—rude, rushed, and completely unbothered about customer experience. If you’re looking for authentic Indian food with decent service, this is NOT the place. There is a restaurant name The monks , nearby 2 mins walk, go try that out ⭐ Rating: 1/5 – Wouldn’t recommend, wouldn’t return.

The food overall was okay, could be warmer, but the portions were small and I think it was quite expensive for what was delivered. Delivery time was 1h and 15min.

Mediocre to say the most positive comment. The korma was one of the worst I have ever had. The chicken was chewy and cheap. The barjee was definitely not fresh and reheated as they were chewy and stale after they'd been reheated. I'd expect more for a Friday night. Shame this place can not put more effort into the local business they would get if food was on par. If I'd have been bothered I'd have taken it back. I'm a cook I know what's fresh and up to scratch....this just wasn't.

I have ordered from here for many years, this is my favourite take away and always good quality.

VERY good food - been using this restaurant on and off for 26 years (when it was Chambeli... or fat belly as we called it) - we try others in the area when they open but everything else pales in comparison, we always end up back here. Never disappointed.

Very tasty curries, Chicken tikka masala, Chicken Balti, Lamb Balti. Will use this place again and recommend it.

Not as good as usual. Forgot my vegetable curry which comes with Byriani. Need to pay more attention to delivering complete order.

I’ve known the people and have been eating at Arman for over 10 years now. Outstanding service with amazing food. I’ve tried other places where the curry is watery or bland, not Arman. Everything on the menu is a 5* dish, fresh, tastes authentic and all is enjoyable. My personal favourite is the chicken Naga-Riya, can’t recommend it enough.

Food was all cold very disappointing

We were staying at Wyatt’s caravan park and came here on spec on a Thursday evening - it was very quiet so we were a little concerned but we were most certainly not disappointed. Excellent food! If we were local we would be here every week!

The food was late as the person delivering went knocking on wrong door again! My partner went looking for him. Food was almost cold, there was not enough sauce, food was dry and flavourless The only good thing was the nan bread. I hope this a one off as I have ordered from here before and it was quite nice.

The chicken madras today was superb! Perfect!

Beautifully cooked and absolutely delicious food. Delivered in the middle of the time specified. Only comment is that everywhere else chucks in a couple or so popadoms with most orders over £20 but there were non here and the order was almost £70.

Disappointed. Ordered chicken tikka masala and chicken tikka Parthia. The sauce in both dishes excellent but the chicken tough and chewy

Despite setting a delivery window that started 55 minutes after confirming my order, the food arrived around 20 minutes after the end of the window - around 90 minutes after placing the order!

Not impressed, order accepted today 25/10, went to check how it was progressing and they had cancelled. No expalanation and didn't have the courtesy to call and advise.

Nice, not been to this place before, and fed up with Uxbridge restaurants, so a short drive over to Denham, nice welcome, poppadoms a bit soft, but overall good, reasonable prices to, seemed busy with diners and takeaway orders ... Which as nice to see... Back again Oct 2023

Very good service and food. Lovely to sit in for a meal and is affordable.

Naan bread that came with the balti was burnt. Both the chicken masala’s had no flavour wasn’t very creamy, tasted watered down and all three curries tasted very salty.

Tandoori Chicken - 1.5/5 (not at all good) Garlic Chilli Chicken - 2.5/5 (okayish) Murgh Tikka - 2.5/5 (too sweet) Tikka Biryani - 2.0/5 (okayish) Really very average. Never ordering from this restaurant. Not worth the money for the food. If you ever wish to order something order from Sipson tandoori restaurant it's the best till now compared to this.

Horrible food never had this bad food anywhere. No taste at all, curry was like chicken pieces thrown in red sauce no taste no flavour and no salt. Biryani was pathetic it was like rice mixed with chicken an turmeric. Spinach was sweet with no taste.

What can I say, I'm a regular, I think that says it all.

Got a leaflet through the door so thought we would give it a try. Onion bhajee were a bit greasy but the rest of the food was fantastic, will definitely go back maybe to eat in. Garlic chilli chicken, green curry, chicken panoramic, one of the best take away naans I've had in a long time. Give it a try.

I was worried that the food would be cold because of the distance travelled. But it was steaming hot and I shouldn't have worried. The meat was very dry and chewy, on the other hand, the rice and naan was delicious. The sauce was also really good and you could taste the herbs and spices within the sauce.

Disappointed with take away for 2. Garlic Nan very good, main was Tava from chefs specials, which wasn’t at all what I was expecting, no carrots, sweet corn, peas and no sweet chilli sauce, only green beans no real flavour. My husband’s main was fine. Would I go again? Would be doubtful.

Best place to dine in with family, friends. Best curry in the town. Friendly staffs. I strongly recommend to try Royal Biryani, Chicken & lamb curry in the house- the best I’ve ever had in my life.

Sub standard rood, very sweet full of sugar. Called the restaurant to tell them butter chicken is yellow and taste like Korma and he didn't care, very rude. Avoid. Stick to Breakspear arms.

Recommended by site staff at Wyatts Covert CAMC Site. Did an exploratory walk around Denham Village and spotted Arman. Couldn't resist a takeaway! Staff very friendly, had a drink whilst waiting. Lamb Biryani, Bindi Bhajee and trimmings were absolutely delicious.

Really good tastes, fresh, not too oily or heavy, just a little long on wait time but that might be because today they were busy. But 100% would order from here again!

Ok at best, gravy was very nice, good balance of spices. However the chicken was pretty poor, not awful but just poor; tough and tasteless. Paneer was of a good quality nicely cooked. Portion sizes were mediocre as was the temperature. Arrived suspiciously quickly and driver was very abrupt. Don’t get me wrong it was all ok but we are used to much much better service and quality of food from Chutneys. Every so often we try a different restaurant to make sure our views and reviews are not biased through familiarity. So far every time we’ve done this the result is the same, just not as good.

Ordered a takeout tonight. It was delivered to the campsite we are staying at. Hoping for a warming meal in a cold night. The pilau rice was cold and had no seasoning. It was boiled rice with blobs of colour. We tasted it, realised it was cold and binned it because we didn’t fancy food poisoning. Tikka was greeny grey and quite cold. Four small pieces of chicken. The salad was ok. Fresh iceberg lettuce and one slice of cucumber and one of tomato. Naan was pleasant tasting but very soggy. Aubergine dish tasted ok and was edible. So we shared an aubergine side and the salad and mopped it up with soggy naan bread. The mint sauce was ok but a bit strange without the tikka. Not our idea of a treat. The rest went in the bin because it was cold and just looked and tasted terrible. We used deliveroo but the restaurant delivered themselves. Such a shame, just going to have to make some toast.

Naga was superb, the korma was nothing special.better standard than all the Slough Indians though...

Forgot the onion bhajis and had to argue to get them delivered. Food was bland, arrived cold and decidedly average.
