Red Lion in South Bucks

Needed a place to stop & charge the car. I pre booked the table with a request we are sat in a corner that’s quiet as we had the dog who is anxious. We were placed in the perfect location where no one would be passing us. The dog was so relaxed & the staff were lovely. We waited no longer than 10 mins for food, desert & drinks & our table was cleared promptly. Considering they were very busy it was very nice to see the staff look relaxed & on top of things. Food was 10/10! Staff 10/10! Thanks again. We will be back

Sunday roast was fantastic, price is reasonable, ambience is great, facilities very clean, and super dog friendly, only thing I have reservation is the service, the staff just crumpy with no reason at all.

Great food and lovely service. The entire team was very attentive and helpful. We tried 3 of the Sunday roast options - each of the meats was cooked to perfection. The desserts were lovely and right sized. Thanks for accommodating our request for an earlier time.

I visited The Red Lion after a long walk in Langley with my dog 🐕. This pub was recommended for its dog-friendly atmosphere and proximity to the park. The food is consistently high-quality. I’ve been here before and have never been disappointed—the temperature, taste, and portion sizes are always excellent!! Kudos to the chef and team. Despite the pub being busy, I chose to order at the bar due to missing breakfast. Both my dog and I were well taken care of—Hope enjoyed a bowl of water and milk, followed by some sausages, while I had a pint and a delicious toad in the hole. 🙃 Service was warm and welcoming, especially from the woman who served me... thank you 😊 My only suggestion for the Red Lion would be a slight update to the decor, which feels a bit cold and affects the atmosphere. This may be just by the bar where I was sitting... Something cosier might make it feel more like a traditional pub, though this may be personal preference and opinion. Thanks to the team at The Red Lion for making my visit to Langley so pleasant. I’ll definitely be back soon!!! .

States that they are dog friendly but when calling to make a booking for a table of 6-7 people for a Sunday meal, we were told we cannot book, as they can only sit in the bar area (or outside, in November!?) with our dogs, which they will not reserve tables at all in the bar area as it’s first come first served. We are travelling from the other side of the country so need somewhere we are guaranteed a table after a long walk. Such a shame as was looking forward to eating here as have heard good things about the food. So impossible for us to book. Would not consider this “dog friendly” as advertised.

Friendly staff, personally I would prefer it on a weekday, food good for price, drinks expensive - standard really 🤔

Food was wonderful - felt like proper home cooked food - tasty and good portuon sizes.

We go there regularly on Sunday, as our daughter has extra tuition in the morning. We generally have the English Breakfast and a bottle of fizz. What a great Sunday!

This is my go to pub and has been for many years now and for good reason. The food is always top quality and generous portions. Great selection of pub classics but specials too which if your looking for something more seasonal or a treat there is always something to tempt the taste bites. Plenty of larger but as an ale man I am pleased there always seems to be three on tap. Great news is they have started breakfasts too!!!! And if your not a drinker the is tea and great coffees too so no excuse to get down and have a relaxed time ....staff are always friendly too so if I duck down by myself they are off a friendly chat too. Very welcoming and although close to home there's plenty of parking. I don't have an electric car but there is a charge station there too!!!!! So all is catered for....just what you want from a great family pub!!!!

Michelle warmly welcomed us to the Red Lion for our Sunday breakfast treat. We had visited only once before for breakfast but she remembered we loved a pot of tea ! Delicious food again and great service. The chef even popped out for a friendly chat !

A warm and friendly atmosphere with really good traditional pub food. The children's menu also has a wide variety of options and our children love the desert choices.

Went in for breakfast today (Saturday morning) and it was pretty busy with just 2 staff on, Michelle and Erin. Despite how busy it was, they had it completely under control and the food and service was brilliant as always. Kudos to those two 👏🏻👏🏻

We visit the red lion at iver about once a month , and we both feel that Michelle and Sue are always so warm and welcoming, and they are both so attentive, even though they are often quite busy . Our food is always hot and delicious and we would like to thank them both for making our visit a pleasure.

Cute pub but the roast dinner is definitely frozen. Came out in about 5 minutes. Potatoes like mush. 2 slices of turkey for £16

Good traditional pub with good service. The loos smell good. There are lower-priced options for lunch, and there are some really good beers on occasion.

Met up with an old neighbour and went to the Red Lion, have been here loads of times over the years a lovely pub with great food always been our go to pub for less formal grub.

We have been living in this area for over 5 years and never stopped by this pub. This evening, we decided to try it and are glad we did. The ambience was great, amicable staff, and great service. The food was overall good, it's just for my son's Crispy Chicken Burger, the patty was a bit chewie.

The Red Lion is an excellent pub all round. We discovered it last weekend and went back again today. The food is fantastic at very reasonable prices and the staff are friendly and attentive at all times. We had the steak and ale pie and fish and chips alongside 4 very substantial kids meals and they were all eaten without issue. Thank you for taking the time to say how well behaved and courteous our 4 children were. We will be back again and again.

I feel at home every time I visit here. And today was an even better experience thanks to the outstanding service from everyone in the team. Specially Erin, and Michelle the manager, who made sure that everything was okay during my visit. 😎👍

Wow what a great find. We looked for a pub with an EV charger and stumbled across the Red Lion and we are so glad we did! Friendly service and delicious food. Good portions piping hot and very tasty. Can’t wait to come back thanks.

Yet again another fantastic meal. Because of the gorgeous weather we decided to eat outside and the food and service were still both excellent. We had 2 courses cooked beautifully and the service was without any fault. We have always loved it here and it goes from strength to strength.

Went with friends for fathers day lunch, friendly helpful welcome as we entered. A set menu with a large and varied choice at reasonable prices. Good food and plenty of it. Service was a bit slow to start with getting drinks but very good from then on. Highly recommend, we will go back.

This is one of our locals. we go here as much as possible. food is great, staff are amazing and they are super dog friendly! we bring our exempted bully here all the time and are treated no different which is refreshing. We can even order him sausages from the menu!

Stopped by for a quick bite to eat on Monday at lunchtime, lovely welcome as we walked in. We decided to sit in the garden and take advantage of the lovely weather. Really dog friendly (provided with a bowl of water) & offered dog treats!🦴 Opted for the chicken and bacon ciabatta that included crispy fries. We shared a trio of puds for dessert which was also delicious. Reasonably priced & great service.

Google sent me here to recharge my EV and what a pleasant surprise. The pub is really good, serves Green King IPA (my local brew), really good food, and has 2 x EV charging stations in the car park. I stayed here for drink and a meal in the beer garden while waiting for my car to charge and it was really great. Great atmosphere, really peaceful, I'm back and forwards to Heathrow quite often and saved this place in my my favorites.

We have been coming to the Red lion for many years and have seen it go up and down in food quality and service with different management. We have to say that for the last few years under current management and staffing the food quality has been consistently amazing and service has been so friendly and again consistently excellent. We went for Christmas 2023 and again it was a lovely meal, friendly staff and consistently great! This is our local and we are so pleased to have it on our doorstep! 😃 thank you to all the staff 💫

Visited on a Tuesday lunchtime & the restaurant was very busy. Friendly & attentive staff. Fabulous food, I had the duo of chicken in a tasty glaze whilst my husband had the beef & ale pie. 2 lovely pints of cask ale. I would advise pre booking.

Had a delicious meal here tonight. The asian style chicken was lovely and the sundae is fantastic! Also we had really great service from (Jake?) judging by the receipt. He was prompt, friendly and had a laugh with us. What a great asset to the team you have!

The food was fabulous, the service was a little slow but they were busy. A starter was missed, as was a dessert.

Back again for a mid week lunch excellent meals all round and great service, they never disappoint, complements to all the team led on this day by Michelle.

Dog-friendly pub with very helpful staff

This is my parent’s local pub, and after coming here with them for a lovely breakfast with Santa, we decided to meet a friend for lunch here today. We visited at lunch time as a party of 6, including 3 very small children. We were made to feel extremely welcome; we were given a table with plenty of room for high chairs and the kids stuff, and at no point did we feel that we were in the way or being rushed (as you often can when you have three babies in a restaurant!). The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was lovely. We will be back again soon!

We had a lovely dinner yesterday evening to celebrate my birthday. It was superb. My husband, who requires a gluten free meal, had the rib eye steak which was cooked to perfection. I had the Confit of Duck, which absolutely out of this world. It was very flavoursome and tender. The staff were amazing and extremely helpful and attentive. Especially the young man who waited on us. I can't wait to return.

Staff are really friendly and attentive. Food was good! I had the sea bass, scallops with pea risotto!! Husband had fish &chips and a salted caramel sundae!! There was 10 of us!!

We had our Xmas dinner at The Red Lion this year and everyone in our family party of 16 was extremely impressed with both the food and the service. The atmosphere was very welcoming as were the staff. I really cannot praise the team highly enough. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Ok, so I am a self-confessed food snob. I'm much happier in a Bob Bob Ricard than in a Chef & Brewer. But, every so often my ever so frugal hubby wants to trade in our Tesco vouchers for a meal deal. So I reluctantly visit Pizza Express's and Chef & Brewers within a 20 mile radius of our home. On this occasion we opted for the Red Lion and my goodness am I so glad we did. Within minutes of being seated our lovely waitress came over to take our drinks order. I had noticed that mine and my hubby's 'specials' menus were different, so wanted to clarify if they had the fillet steak offered on one of the menus. Our waitress quickly checked on her tablet and confirmed they had one fillet steak left, she kindly offered to get the kitchen to reserve it whilst we perused the rest of the menu, which was much appreciated. She returned shortly after with our wine and we ordered the fillet steak and a rib eye steak. The food arrived quickly and was both piping hot and surprisingly high quality and really tasty. The fillet steak was cooked to perfection and cut like butter. A lovely young waiter came to clear our plates soon after we finished and asked if we wished to see a dessert menu, which we happily accepted. Shortly after our delightful waitress returned to check we had been offered dessert also. I had the trio of desserts which were all incredible, my husband loved the chocolate brownie. Our service from start to finish was exceptional with each server taking time have a chat with us and make us laugh. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. I'm still going to want to dine at Bob Bon Ricard now and then, but if I ever want a decent meal where I'm treated like a local, I'll definitely choose the Red Lion again.

I had been recommended by friends - and this place surpassed my expectations!! From the moment we arrived i cannot fault it.. Jan & her team gave us wonderful food, timely thirst-quenchers and warm smiles. Will definitely be back!

Really good roast, large portions and very well priced. Service was great too. After visiting a few more times I can say this is one of my favourite pubs to visit, the supervisor Michelle and the team went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a great time. Loving the food - it’s always so good I visit at least twice a week and the staff make the perfect experience especially Michelle the young lady at the till who knows exactly what I want so attentive can’t fault this place
