Have been in for a couple of different occasions. Every time, I had a great time.

Not one to leave many reviews but... I have been using the fitness facilities here the last year.. I use day pass at different centres as membership doesn't suit me due to location and my work I dont think the gym equipment has been updated in 15+ years here Several pieces of equipment out of order.. Much more than the average gym The sauna has incredibly bright lighting for how it's actually supposed to be and also the sauna doesn't currently have a proper door.. which should have been replaced last year when it was faulty. The plunge pool is a small bath that is rarely actually cold.. And also really needs cleaned more frequently.. The shower next to the sauna resembles a garden hose on the least desirable setting to stand under The day pass price was increased by another 25% to £10... Quite disappointed..

good hotel, but if you stay make sure your rooms at the back as the front is noisy and bright with spotlights pointed at your windows

Lovely hotel in a great location. Free parking. Free WiFi. Breakfast was really good with a lot of options. The only bad thing was the coffee. Only filter coffee available which was really bad.

We were here with special olympics ulster team ,amazing hotel , great food ,great service and an all round fantastic weekend!!

Very hit and miss with this hotel at the best of times. This week we booked a table for 14 people and pre ordered food from the deli menu. When we arrived the deli the staff had forgotten to reserve/set up table for us, forgot to start the pre order and made mistakes on nearly half of our orders. We should have had our food by 12pm and at 12:50pm we were still waiting on our final meal. The most disappointing part was the attitude of the deli staff. They sent the bar man to apologise after the meal even though nothing was his fault. We were treated as a complete inconvenience to the deli even when we had made the booking well in advance. We will not be having any staff functions here again.

Lovely hotel to stay in within walking distance of town. Great food and very comfortable bedrooms with kettle tea/coffee & biscuits available. Bathroom has an excellent shower and individual toiletries/shower cap. Food is excellent with great seating areas throughout hotel. Never used the spa facilities but the facilities look great. Have stayed here several times for the tribute events night & hotel has a great atmosphere. Always a pleasure to stay in Armagh City Hotel.

The rooms were comfortable. The restaurant was enjoyable with plenty of options. Gym on site as well

Only in for a drink with an old friend. Lovely set up, staff very friendly and welcoming.

From our checking in to our checking out staff were so helpful and friendly. Room was spotless. Room service was very good even though there were functions on in the hotel. Enjoyed and eill be back again

Nice comfy hotel. Especially since rooms recently refurbished (during Covid lockdowns perhaps). Great cust service. A good breakfast, nice bar, pool. Weekend entertainment usually very good. Pricey at weekends or when events are on, but that’s to be expected as they have the monopoly on the area. Need more deals especially for Sunday night stays. Recommended

Located on the main arterial route through the city it is very accessible to all.

I was in armagh City hotel in march time for my clubs big gala. It was great. The rooms in the hotel has a great few from armagh City.

Unfortunately jacuzzi and steam room were out of order which was very disappointing. Pool is very small especially when half of it is closed off for swimming lessons

I'm posting from previous stays. On this occasion just used the gym. It's been a while since I was there but it now looks and feels really dated with rusty machines and worn out weights. CV machines badly out of date. At £8 to use you'd hope for better.

Fabulous hotel, great food and service

Whenever my wife and I go home ( I was born in Armagh) we always stay here. Since our last visit, I've been diagnosed with ms, and walking is a big problem for me. The shower was a no-go for me because once the floor got wet, it became an ice rig. As you can guess I nearly fell the mat was so small it was useless. For the rest of our holiday I had a standing wash which was not ideal.

I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Horrible customer service was screamed at down the phone by reservations. Had to cancel due to partner's disability and absolutely no empathy from the hotel at all. Called ahead to cancel and was assured and promised that I could cancel for free. I even asked the woman to double check for me that I would not be charged for the room. She said "no don't worry we wouldn't do that." A month later they charged my bank £140. Called to find out what was going on only to be shouted at down the phone by reservations department "you will not be getting a refund!" I was promised call backs from a manager and never received them. Had they have been honest and told me that I could not cancel for free I would have stayed by myself anyway instead of just throwing £140 at them for absolutely nothing.

Great carvery served daily. Lovely soup.

Nice hotel great breakfast let down by an infestation of flies, with no airconditioning you cannot close the windows in the summer. Given a broken fan spent the evening waging war on the fly airforce.

Nice hotel in the middle of the city. Had food in the bar v good, and the staff friendly and helpful. There is a pool although a little small.

Lovely Hotel Great place for graduation ceremony

Awful hotel, rude staff who refused to allow us to switch rooms even though they weren't fully booked. Food wasn't nice and restaurant staff left me sitting there for over 30 minutes before taking my order but they went ahead and took someone else's order before mine after they had just walked in.

I stayed at the Armagh City Hotel as it allowed me easy driving to the Jonesboro Drumintee area as well as Belfast, Giants Causeway, Tynan Abbey, Benburb Priory, Naven Fort. I was very lucky to have met wonderful people on a zoom call and they went out of their way to make me feel like an old friend. I'm hoping to return in the spring of 2024 for at least two weeks and hope to stay again at City Hotel.

I didn't stay here but we are here and the food was very good.

This is my sons favourite hotel! We booked the 2 night getaway with the Navan Fort and pass offer which included a £50 dining voucher. A fab deal!! The staff throughout the hotel were welcoming and friendly. Not only is the pool a big hit but we both enjoy the food. Fantastic service at dinner and a special mention to our waiter Ryan who was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, plenty to choose from. We will definitely be back!!

My sister is in a wheelchair and I have pointed out on several occasions that they NEED automatic doors, how is someone in a wheel chair (unless they have someone with them) supposed to push /pull open bloody geat heavy doors like the ones they have

I wish to inform the manager of the Reception staff, that I had very good experiences on both Friday last and two further occasions today. On both times I was assisted by one of your staff members called Ashleigh. She was very patient, helpful and Knowledgeable in all aspects of the information I required. R S M

We called in last week and after looking at the carvery we decided we would have it for lunch. The bar staff were quick to offer drinks and we chose our lunch from the carvery. There was a variety of meats, fish and a selection of vegetables and potatoes on offer. The food was fresh and well-cooked. The apple pie and cream was very nice. A very pleasant lunch with good food and service.

Stayed here before and it has got better and better. The food was excellent and the service was just as good. The bedroom was very clean an comfortable whilst the leisure facilities could not be bettered. We will return!

We joined family for the carvery lunch. The roast potatoes were not terrible. Every thing else well, was. This is large quantities of warm food, that's really all it has going for it. If that's your thing, then great. We got chips for the toddler, they were quite good. I don't really want to say anything else, lest I become a hater. Recommend you try one of the many other options in Armagh. Any of them.

Horrendous so many waiters standing watching as they loaded dirty glasses up on the bar to here them fall off and break the other side as there was so many this happened approximately 5 times in our time there. no one had the management to re direct staff to other areas to help. Training and staff roles need looked at. The food was awful we won’t be rushing back

I took my parents to the hotel restaurant for a special night out - it was the worst food I've eaten in years. Nothing was freshly cooked - it was all either frozen or from a packet. It was frankly insulting to all the diners. Northern Ireland has amazing produce and this popular venue would do well to show-case it. Start by employing a chef rather than a kitchen manager.

Although i did not stay at the hotel i wanted to share a really good experience that i had with the hotel staff last week. I stopped by the hotel for a coffee and snack which was very good . A few hours later that evening o realized that a leather credit card holder with my credit cards and ID was no longer with me I retraced my steps to the hotel and the cards and holder had been retrieved and were at reception I asked who had found them but staff did not know.It was a huge relief for me to get them back . I was very impressed with the honesty shown by someone and to the hotel staff for keeping the cards safe for me. Just very heartening in todays world that there was so much honesty and integrity Thank you to the hotel staff and whoever found my cards.

Armagh City Hotel was always a great favourite of ours for a few drinks and the bar food menu. Now that things are beginning to return to normal we called in on Sunday evening for what we were hoping was going to be as good an evening as we had here in the past. We were not disappointed and if anything things had even got better in the meantime. It was obvious current covid restrictions were being observed and the bar was spotlessly clean and maintained that way by very attentive waiting staff. The food was excellent and our 2 steaks were cooked exactly the way we asked. As I mentioned the waiting staff, all looking so young, were really good and kept the show running but I would have to single out a young man called Callum who looked after us. Nothing was too much trouble for Callum and he makes a great Irish Coffee as well. He is a credit to his family and the hotel and I am sure he has a very bright future ahead of him whatever he decides to do in the future. Great to see that the Armagh City Hotel is back better than ever.

My wife and I went on Saturday evening for a meal and a drink I ordered the steak and my wife ordered the fish and chips The steak was a small amount on it own with a few packet onion rings We also ordered water and a dash of orange water cost 2 50 dash of orange 50 p Steak was 24 £ Very bad value for money Won't be back

Stayed here one night while meeting friends for dinner locally. Our room was very nice indeed, nice beds, decor, and it was also nice to have a bath as well as a shower. Overall I am very impressed with this hotel. Covid restrictions were adhered to and all the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Arrived at 3.30 on a Sunday for carvery dinner but we were told carvery was over already!! Then had to wait to 4pm until bar food started. I ordered battered fish and chips and it was awful, fish was pale and soggy in the middle and mushy peas were bland. Chips tasted like frozen chips and had black bits all over them from dirty oil... Partner ordered Thai chicken strips (thin strips of fried chicken with a ‘Thai side salad’) as main with chips and was around £15 for this, way overpriced. Wasn’t great but better than the fish. Coca Cola was served in a tiny glass best thing about it was the bottle of orchard thieves! Very over priced it was over £30 for this and NOT worth it

Stayed here last Saturday night and we enjoyed our stay. On check in a lovely lady called Lisa checked us in and we where put in to one of the newly decorated room which we loved. The room was so modern and had that fresh new smell. We had a city view which was nice. As part of our room package we went on the cider tour which we also loved. Would never have known this existed only for the hotel advertising this on Facebook. The reason I knocked a point off my score as was really surprised that after the hotel recommending the tour that they didn't then sell the cider. It would have been really nice to have cider while we discussed the lovely tour we had over dinner. The dinner itself was nice and I thought the breakfast in particular was handled very well especially in these trying times. Would highly recommend that anyone that is visiting this hotel does the cider tour as the owners themselves gave the tour which made it so personal.

Stayed over weekend Social Distanced very well managed in the Bars and Restaurants,food and service by all the staff was excellent and great Value Music from 9pm on the out door terrace , the guy on guitar was very good easy listening. Coffee shop in the spacious comfortable reception was a lovely touch. I stayed in one of the old rooms no complaints it was fine, I would like to stay in one of the refurbished rooms on my next visit. It’s a very well run Hotel a great base for exploring NI. 5 minute walk into Armagh for Shops I would highly recommend and will definitely be back

Myself and friends had a really nice meal in the restaurant in the Armagh City Hotel. The servicecwas very prompt, really friendly and attentive. The menu is pretty comprehensive. I had nice stir fried chicken chow mein which was very tasty. My companions had lasagne and beef. We all enjoyed the fare. We were there on a gorgeous sunny evening so the open balcony was a nice feature.

Lovely spacious surroundings and a fabulous, huge outdoor deck area. Sadly thIs visual pleasure was ruined by poor service both from bar and grill. Waited almost 15 mins to place a drink order via table service ending up having to go find a waiter and ask to be served. Tables not cleared of empties on many surrounding tables. Then into the grill for food. At least Another 15 mins Wait to have order taken. Requested a rare steak with arrived medium rare. Also ordered chicken Maryland and It was tasteless - chicken was tough and stringy, pineapple was burnt and sweet potato fries returned to kitchen as they were cremated. Again had to chase waiters for a drink order and then when meal was finished the table wasn’t cleared of dishes for 20 minutes. Whilst the hotel looks lovely I really can’t recommend the service and food.

i often come here for carvery lunch on Sundays..never had a bad meal here.The only thing i dont like about the carvery is,,the servers throw everything on,Its not very well presented,even when you ask them to put the stuffing on the side of the plate,they just pile it on top of everything.apart from that ,the food always tastes good.,the staff are very nice and helpful,they always go that extra mile to accommodate.

Lovely dinner this evening with very helpful staff !This evening was my dads 86th birthday and we took him for dinner to his favourite place the local hotel. I mentioned on the way in it was his birthday and could we have a little surprise after dinner for him. Staff were very attentive all night. The bar manager was lovely and so discreet about the surprise and the person who took our order and served us Tiernan was especially attentive. It takes very little to please my Dad but he is was so tickled pink tonight with his ‘birthday chocolate cake’ dessert. Thanks to everyone in the restaurant this evening for taking such good care of us - dinner was fab as usual! Love to support local !

Could not fault food or service - superb. Would recommend carvery and nothing was too much trouble. I wish I could remember the waiters name as he was class and very funny.

This hotel is very high on the list of hotels I have stayed in. A great welcome on arrival.Rooms were fantastic,had a great wiew of the city. Food was delicious with lots to choose from, there was a buffet breakfast with great choices. Will most stay there again.

Went for dinner after a long day trip expecting to enjoy a family meal. Instead we got poor service. If you are a vegan, the only thing on the menu you can get is mixed vegetables and rice for 13 pounds after the staff have to require with the chef what is suitable (yes the manager did ask if we would like anything specifically made for us after it had been brought to his attention). This was all ok but still a lacklustre.The food arrived and the continental dish for one of us tasted as if it had been mixed with curry, something which was not wanted and not mentioned on the menu, yes again the manager asked if we would like another meal replacement, but at this point with everyone else having food there was no point in waiting for food for one person.Two portion of chips were ordered with the meal, the rest of us had already half finished when we asked are they on their way yet as one was for the vegan dish of mixed vegetables and rice, which makes a substantial part of the dish considering what the dish consisted off. Our meal was all finished when only one of the two ordered portion of chips came to the table and we informed the waiter that we did not want these chips on their own now.The 11 year old child in our group asked the waiter for the vegetable burger with no pickles, no coleslaw and could some beans come with the burger and mashed potatoes. I repeated this to the waiter to ensure he got this information and he said yes that’s ok. The burger was good, but no beans came, so again another mistake to add to all the previous problems.I myself enjoyed my chicken curry 9/10 for the taste, however due to so many mistakes to our order I could not enjoy my time there as we knew we had to still go and find food afterwards for one of our family members.We discussed this with the manager and yes he did his best to help, but the damage had already been done and our time had already been wasted without waiting for more meals to be prepared for some of our family members. We were told by the manager that these were all small mistakes and that they were busy, it was not as an excuse, but it was a reason these happened.Mistaken food orders are not a small mistake, the restaurant was not full of people, waiters were standing around, with in fact several approaching us to ask are we ready to order during the period of time that we are trying to decide what can be suitable for a vegan.If these are small mistakes, I would not like to see big mistakes, thank you but I will not be back.

In last night for a st Patrick’s drink and I can’t believe an establishment like this let’s the traveling community drink in it..If you are looking a nice hotel or a business meeting don’t come hereCouldn’t send a video because trip advisor don’t let videos.. I also tried to post pictures but trip advisor wouldn’t let me post them and I had to re do my original post.. sorry for telling the truth trip advisorbut the traveling community like most weekends fell out with each other and lead to fighting with some being smashed open leaving blood everywhere..Thankfully one of the bar tenders had a blue roll and got cleaning up straight awayThe police were called and there was at least 10 of them..I would advise for anyone’s safety to stay away from Armagh hotel between Friday and SundayHappens every weekendSort this out armagh hotel.. bouncers need to be stricter on who they let in and keep an eye on the customers.. no point in standing out the front door when it’s in the bar the alcohol is being drunk which fuels the aggression and they can’t seee this happening

Visited hotel with friends for a birthday high tea, small portions, hard sandwiches very disappointed. Later in same year another event was organised for high tea & once again sandwiches were hard & had to be returned would not recommend going here! Been to high tea in various places & this was the worst ever

Popped in here for lunch and opted to eat in the foyer area which is a large, bright, busy place with a café which serves a range of sandwiches, toasties, cakes etc. They have a good range of fillings and the quality was excellent – much better than we expected. We opted for 2 panini and demolished both of them. Service was excellent – very pleasant and helpful. My wife also enjoyed watching the comings & goings in the foyer whilst I found the free Wi-fi very handy. Would certainly use again.

I had been to the hotel carvery on several occasions but tried the restaurant on this occasion. There was a reasonable selection of starts, main courses and desserts, with dessert being free to pensioners who had ordered the first two courses. portions were quite generous and the speed of service was reasonable. Waitresses were pleasant and I would certainly return, though the hotel's carvery is also well worth a visit.

The hotel is in a great location and most restaurants and attractions are within walking distance. The rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable. We had an evening meal in the Friary restaurant and found it very good, in particular the service was excellent. Breakfast on both mornings was hot and tasty. There was also a good cold selection. On the Sunday morning the restaurant was very busy and the staff remained civil and professional. Congratulations to all and thank you for making are visit pleasant.

A very reasonably priced cavery and great value for money. The beef was to die for. Cooked to perfection, thickly hand carved and plenty of it. Well done Chef.

This hotel has an excellent location just a few minutes walk to the city centre. Plenty of car parking space. The family room was spacious and clean and had everything we required. The swimming pool and spa area is satisfactory if rather dated. Swimming caps are required and can be bought at the pool. Breakfast is self service with a good selection of hot and cold items.

This hotel can cater for more than one event at a time and still manage to run like clockwork with no guests being neglected. I have no problem in recommending to friends and family.

Last week we visited about a party of 10. We got the carvery quick and easy but the guy behind the counter serving the meat was sooo grumpy- we had just come from a very sad funeral and this guy was miserable- this put us off and the waitress need to be trained better

It is Armagh's largest hotel, but a little dated and with limited services. For example the hotel restaurant was closed during our stay with no explanation.

This was my first visit to the Hotel and I wasn't disappointed. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only downside was my room was on the front of the hotel and it is at the side of a very busy road. In fairness I was told they would make a note on my account to provide a room at the back of the hotel on my next visit.

The menu was quite varied, but the service could have been a wee bit quicker, although the staff were very pleasant.Our meals were nicely presented, hot and tasty.

We had the fish and chips and a burger. Both were good. Service has greatly improved from our last visit. Good friendly staff and quite professional. Thank you

Yes it was Saturday evening. And we were a group. But early. And just 6 people - as many as my family. We ordered before 1830. We waited about 35 minutes only for our starters, and overall it was more than an hour until we...

There are 2 restaurants - the Friary and the Carvery, with the latter being more informal. Both had excellent service at all meals. Although they served massive portions of food, the food itself was a bit uneven. The steaks were terrific but the standard Irish fare was rather bland and overcooked. Good location with free parking.

I normally don’t write reviews, but on the last 2 visits to Armagh City Hotel I have had to return my “gluten free” meals to the kitchen as they were served to me with gluten still on them . on the first occasion, I received my chicken curry with a nan-bread placed on top of the meal, I explained I suffered from coeliac’s disease and this would result in me being severely ill. The dish was taken back to the kitchen where I watched the chef simply laugh , then scrape the dish onto another plate and send it back out to me. The second recent occasion I was there for a family occasion and even though it was again pointed out that I suffered from coeliac’s disease I was served a portion of chicken and ham that had clearly had the stuffing scraped off

Food is of a reasonable standard but would benefit from an update or more variety. I've been meeting with a group of friends on a regular basis here for 9 years & we barely need to look at menu it never changes . Keep the popular food but some variety (for the regulars) would be appreciated.

I attended this lovely hotel on Friday evening passed with my friend.

Firstly, you have to pay in advance before you even eat. We waited half an hour because they had forgotten about us- ended up going and asking to be served food. Secondly, Sandwiches were not exciting- all white bread with boring fillings.

Such a lovely dining experience! By far the best steak I've had in years. The entire staff was very friendly—several different people came to check on us throughout the meal and made us feel very welcome. If we weren't just in Armagh for the night, we'd probably be going back tomorrow!

Just called in to have our tea . Got what we ordered an not long to wait ,plates hot food hot all very nice , staff very attentive and pleasant. A bit on the expensive side that's the only downside I have .

Great spot for a meal or for just a coffee or drinks with friends. Can be busy so expect to wait a while to be served. Staff helpful and friendly. Well laid and superbly decorated. First class spot.

Went to hotel 2wks and the dinner was lovely and food was lovely staff was very friendly and lovely and comfortable and warm

This is a lovely hotel for eating at various times throughout the day. There is a good choice of meals at both lunch time and evening. There is also a fantastic beautians called Fab on the premises where a wide variety of beauty treatments are offered by super staff with that lovely personal touch. A package with afternnno tea and various diffferent treatments of ones choice is on offer. Definitely work a visit.

A good dining experience and recommended by our B&B host. The food was excellent, attractively served, and plentiful portions. In fact some might find the portions quite filling.

I've been here a few times now for afternoon tea and it is overall lovely. I have always pre booked and been seated in a quiet raised area. Service is pleasant but not always knowledgeable. There have been times I'm not sure the waitress serving actually knew what a vegetarian was? They also put all sandwiches on the same plate touching which means I can't eat any as the vegetarian sandwiches are touching the chicken and prawns despite me advising there will be a vegetarian at the time of booking. The non veggies joining me for Afternoon Tea always enjoy the sandwiches on offer though.They always have a wonderful selection of cakes and scones which I always enjoy. They are also very accommodating towards children and have always gone out of their way for mine, including getting a fruit salad when my middle child wanted some fruit (which they didn't charge me any extra for).

I took my wife to the Armagh City Hotel for St Patrick's Day, and I have to say how much we enjoyed our stay. Right from check in, we received a warm welcome. (Big shout out to a super helpful receptionist, Michelle!)We enjoyed the 'stew and a Guinness for £5' deal, and then had a lovely steak dinner in the restaurant that night. The bedroom was very clean, and we were able to watch the St Patrick's parade from our room. The bed was very comfortable, and we enjoyed very quiet night's sleep. Breakfast was very good and set us up for the day. On a side note. The hotel was totally packed with the parade being right beside them, and while it was extremely busy, there was a great atmosphere, and the hotel staff coped very well. Definitely looking forward to returning soon.

We stayed here for 5 nights with 20 family and friends. The hotel was fantastic and very clean. We can't wait to go back.

The title sort of says it all.Not the most varied of menus, but whatever you choose, yu can guarantee it's goingto be fresh and cooked to perfection

The Deli facility is so relaxing! It's open all day till about 9pm. Hot drinks, sandwiches, wraps, soup, salad, desserts, cakes, fruit and more. All served in the spacious foyer by cheerful staff. Bar drinks also available.
