Forget the place save your money and buy a can of dog food it will be much tastier Worst pizza ever

went for carry out dinner me and my husband always get lasagna and spag ball . got it home and it was disgusting . the sauce was just mince and brown gravy . not a bit of oregano or anything like it in that sauce it usually is great but not this time .we wont be back after going there for years. very disappointing .

Beyond belief what we were served up tonight. We bought a fish supper and a sausage supper to take away, went to the Esplanade to eat them and couldn’t believe our eyes…chips looked like they were made yesterday, sausage was the type you’d see in a £2 multi bag , no batter and tasteless. We gave the lot to the seagulls. £14 for the worst suppers we have ever seen. The guys that are serving this up are Italian… wow! Obviously Nonna never taught you guys how to do it! Will never go back and suggest anyone reading this thinks twice before going. It shows an utter contempt for Greenock people thinking that we’ll just accept this type of insult.

Omg the service we got today was terrible.. The noise from users nearby was as such we had to put our phone on speaker.. Just to be told that is not allowed and we were not able to return.. We all LOVED our food, and our waitress was so friendly. We had lasagne and chips (best ever), Pollo Milanese and Mexican chicken - we were very very happy 😋. Sorry we didn’t take photos, too busy eating.

How on earth is this place open . I’d been better going to Greggs. Food poor not hot only warm staff as sad as the Greenock town Center and decor like the same 100% dive

Called in for lunch. Been in several times since restrictions were lifted and felt really safe. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Service was prompt. We both opted for the lasagne and it was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend.

Just been here , amazing as usual,great food,great staff and service, social distancing exceptional and following all covid rules,hand sanitising as you enter and staff wearing masks, first time in restaurant since easing of lockdown felt totally safe,will definitely be going back soon

Having been let down by another restaurant last minute, arlechinno managed to accommodate us within half an hour. Excellent service and excellent food. First time eating here and will definitely be back!

The food is lovely, good variety of choice. All home made and authentic . Portions are not the biggest.

Called in for an early Sunday dinner. Husband opted for the Chicken Maryland (which in his opinion is the best in town) and my choice was the Chicken Curry, which was delicious and the presentation superb. It tasted every bit as good as it looks. The service was excellent, prompt and efficient. It was lovely to have a conversation without music blaring. The music playing was soft and unobtrusive. All in all another enjoyable visit.

Group of friends go often. Quality good decent prices and friendly staff. Locstion perfect. Group numbers vary from 6 to 12 people raising to 25 in December. Good selections but we normally stick to favourites

Discovered this little gem by accident, ordered fish and enchilada. The fish was delicious, cooked perfectly and the enchilada was fantastic. One slight complaint was the dessert my husband had was frozen solid, it took a bit of time till he could eat it. Will definitely be back.

We ate here on a very quiet Tuesday night but what the restaurant lacked in terms of atmosphere, it more than made up for in the food. I had the steak Diane, which was absolutely delicious. The chips are a step up from French fries, being a decent chip and beautifully crispy. Others in the party enjoyed liver, bacon and onions and pasta arrabiata. All meals were presented simply but did not disappoint. Desserts were a little basic, comprising of a menu with photos of frozen puds like lemon sorbet and ice cream sundaes that looked a little dated; however I chose peach belle Helene from the additional list and it was lovely. Service was low key but the girls were efficient and took good care of us. Very reasonably priced, under £20 a head for 2 courses and an Italian lager each. It might not be fancy but I would definitely recommend this as a decent Italian.

In the area. Hungry. This is my go to place...Take away cheese burger and their own hand cut chips. Delicious. Hits the spot Every Time.

Looks very small from the outside but there's a lovely seating area at the back. The menu is varied and there are lots of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, pleasant staff. An enjoyable experience overall.

Have been going to Arlecchino for many years and are never disappointed. From the friendly greeting on arrival to the prompt taking of our order and the quick service of our meals, the whole experience was a joy. The varied menu offers something for most tastes. One of my absolute favourites for lunch is the traditional mince, veg., and mash. Delicious!!

I visit Arlecchino every time in I am traveling through Greenock. Food and service excellent My 2 friends chose from the evening fixed price menu. They chose a minestrone soup and a beef and vegetable Italian dish (mushroom, pepper and potato with wine) respectively. Because my friend doesn't eat beef the chef was skilled enough to make the dish without and my friend said it was delicious as was the soup. They then chose grilled haddock with pesto potatoes and creamed spinach which they thoroughly enjoyed.I had one course my usual choice of Spaghetti Alla Vongole ( baby clams) which was up to its usual excellent standard.Altogether we enjoyed a pleasant evening in this restaurant with it's Italian ambiance

When we visit family in Scotland we always visit this great restaurant to catch up with them. Family owned and established for several generations Arlecchino offers authentic Italian recipes beautifully created and served often by the family themselves. Happy friendly ambience and top service!

This was once the seller of the best chips in town not now chips are very greasy and reheated after being half cooked , the staff are brilliant very friendly just dont,ask for salt and vinegar on your chips as they wont put any on had that problem countless times , easily located although the takeaway entrance is very small cant get more than 4 people in it and ita crowded.

Killing time in Greenock today and found this little gem. Fantastic menu and every dietary requirement is catered for. The food was excellent, very tasty, great sized portions and extremely reasonable prices. I have to mention the staff, service was outstanding! The waitresses were so friendly, smiley and it was a breath of fresh air to have service like that. No one could ever be disappointed in dining here.

Bread n olives not worth eating (sent them back), minestrone soup amazing, seafood spaghetti delicious, burger n chips mediocre and surprisingly my favourite Italian wine Verdicchio tasted pretty insipid. Restaurant was warm and welcoming on a cold wet day (table next to a radiator) and the staff were friendly and attentive. Would give it another try and fingers X

Very reliable place to come for a meal. Never fail to get a good meal from Arlecchino however my one complaint is the dessert menu which is poor! Great portion size and a variety of dishes on offer!

Myself and three friends had a lovely night here on Saturday . The food was great, piping hot and service was friendly and efficient. I had Pollo Milanese with spaghetti Napolitano, it was excellent as was the garlic foccacia . I recommend this restaurant for everything from a coffee to a 3 course meal . Well done guys !

Went for Sunday lunch, basic food, basic surroundings, small portions. As always expensive soft drinks which you dont mind if you are getting very inexpensive but food wasn’t , 1 kids meal, 1 pancakes n syrup and 2 lunch mains- £35 and the soda and lime I ordered was flat, nothing worse! Wouldn’t recommend or go back.

today at around 4pm my friend and I decided to get a takeaway from arllecchino, I had only ever been there once before which was several years ago and will not be going there again, We had Chips and Bolognese .. the Bolognese was okay but the CHIPS were absolutely awful ( pre-cooked in advance and stale)

Arlecchino was recommended by friends who live in Greenock. The food was very good, staff were excellent and the price was very reasonable.

My husband and I decided to eat out on Saturday evening and booked a table with little notice. We were very impressed by the warm welcome we received. We were able to order from the early evening menu which had a good variety of dishes at a very reasonable price. Our food was beautifully cooked and presented. The staff were attentive and helpful. We will definitely go back.

Popped in for a late Sunday dinner as we didn’t want to go too far afield. Welcome and service, as usual, was friendly and professional. The drinks came promptly, likewise the meals. I had the chicken supreme as it’s one of my favourites and it was delicious. Definitely one of the best places to eat in Greenock with quite a large selection.

Nothing great to look at from the outside - or to be honest the inside either. But food was great value and staff friendly. Our son didn't like his pizza ( too much oregano for his tastes) and the waitress was so apologetic and offered to bring something else. Greenock hasn't got too much to shout about but this little family run Italian is one.

We have been going here for a number of years as a family but the restaurant has now introduced a specific vegetarian/vegan menu. I have tried a lot of the food from it and would highly recommend eating here. Excellent to see some thought go into vegetarian options rather than the usual ones other places offer! Staff are always fantastic too.

Ate here for lunch. Fast, friendly service but waitress got my order wrong even though I was very clear on what I wanted (nothing complicated) but it was soon rectified thankfully. Was asked if I wanted any sauces and when I asked, it wasn’t brought so had to ask again which was annoying. The food was nice but I do not like the side salad. No proper lettuce leaves/onion. Too much grated carrot and sliced peppers. Chips are nice. Bit overpriced for the portions. Won’t be back.

Been using this place for years, the early 70s and eaten both takeaways and table served meals in the restaurant however the staff and owner seem not to recognise me which is fair enough no harm done.

Have asked on three separate occasions for salt and vinegar on chips and when got home still none its a shame they give you want they want to give you and not what they want

I was taken here for Mother's Day by my husband and 3 sons. Although we use the takeaway regularly we had never been in the restaurant before. We will definitely be in it again as we had a lovely meal.

Had dinner here tonight with 3 others and we all enjoyed our meals. We had 2 courses each plus drinks and the bill came to £55 which we found reasonable.

We had a birthday meal here tonight for my husband. Between four of us we had chicken guojon, pizza, risotto, a corn dish and a pasta dish. Everything was first class, so tasty, portions were just right and we just had a fabulous meal. The staff were really friendly, the atmosphere was great and we had a lovely time. Delighted to recommend Arlecchino.

The newly introduced vegan/vegetarian menu is a great addition to this restaurant. As my partner and I are both vegan the options we were given were great and the staff were so incredibly helpful and informed when it came to the new menu! The food was so incredible we had starters and mains with 3 sides. The waiter who served us (Enrico) was a great credit to the restaurant! We will definitely be going back and have been recommending this restaurant to everyone.

Have recently turned Vegetarian and dipping our toes into Vegan dishes at home have discovered when eating out it is almost impossible to find decent Vegan/Veggie options especially in Greenock. Seen on fb that Arlecchino's have launched a new Vegan/Veggie menu so decided to give it a try today and we're not disappointed! Everyone knows that Arlecchinos chips are probably the best in town and we have often popped in for a take away but never really ventured into the restaurant at the back. We were greeted by very friendly staff, eager to share the new menu, and the menu was full to the brim with such a varied choice. We had the vegetable enchilada, vegan burger and the vegan stir fry. Generous portions all round and every plate was scraped clean :) will definitely be back. If you are looking for Vegetarian options then Arlecchinos is definitely worth a try!

Really enjoyable meal in a pleasant ambience. I had calamari and then steak diane with sautéed potatoes while my vegan girlfriend who is vegan!! had bruschetta with tomatoes and then had the vegan stir fry. We both loved our meals and also the brilliant service from our server who looked after us and was able to inform my gf about vegan options. We shall return!!

Had the most amazing haddock and cheese sauce for a main meal and the biggest piece of sticky toffee pudding and ice cream o my god it was so tasty it was priced per couple and the staff were so helpful cheerful and nothing was a problem. Definitely a must visit for anyone looking for a nice night out... Or just a takeaway...

We've eaten in here a number of times and never been disappointed. Primarily an Italian restaurant but other favourites are on the menu. Nice restaurant, friendly staff, reasonably priced. Need I say more.

Although the food is nice here and I often have takeaway, last two times we ordered spaghetti bolognese there is loads of spaghetti and very little mice or bolognese sauce.

Arlechinno is a well priced and excellent traditional Italian Restaurant. It offers a good wholesome 'no nonsense' Menu, and is well priced. The service is very efficient and exceptionally friendly. We eat there quite often and it is unusual not to meet someone we know each time we dine. The patrons all seem to dress well or smart casual, which adds to the evening dining experience.

Recently visited this Italian restaurant for lunch, with two elderly people. There are very heavy doors at the entrance, which open outwards. Not only one door, but a second heavy door inside as well. It took me all my time to pull open the door. Goodness knows how an elderly person, disabled person or anyone with shiopping or a pram could manage.

I love this place, their food is amazing! My favourite is macaroni cheese and my partner always gets the lasagne, it is reasonably priced and never disappoints!

Iv been 4 times. 3 for lunch and once for dinner. There's plenty of choice and it's well priced. The food is lovely and the service is great. My only quibble is it's been a little cold 2 of the times Iv been. Would definitely recommend it. Especially for pizza which is fantastic.

We ended up visiting Arlecchino 3 times on our one week stay in Greenock - twice for dinner and once for breakfast, On each occasion the food was excellent and the staff wonderfully friendly and hospitable, We had no hesitation on inviting extended family to join us for a follow up visit, all had an equally good time. Highly recommended.

Went here for the steak pie twice, if you get the homemade it's amazing and my 3rd favourite steak pie in the world or if you get the other steak pie it's an amazing greasy mess and exactly what you should expect

We've been going to this restaurant for over 40 years and have never been disappointed. Things have obviously changed over the years but they've all been for better. The menu is the best yet. There's such a choice. The chicken supreme is my personal favourite. They say presentation is everything and they even get that right. The service is excellent too.

Had another amazing meal. Here last night. Salmon to die for. Really good size of fish. With lovely mashed potatoes and vegetables.. A lovely carbonara wow. And bacon cheese burger. And our grandson was overjoyed with his spaghetti and his garlic bread.. Amazing staff friendly and really helpful very relaxing restaurant and warm. Place. And priced well. Too. And accommodated us at last min.. Without any fuss.. Great night

Just walking past with my son, I decided to pop in to eat lunch. Never been in before. It's larger than you think and pleasantly decorated. The service was very good. We both got different meals and both were very tasty. The chips are beautiful and not greasy at all. Very good value for money. Highly recommended.

Was with a party of about eight people and we were very well looked after by efficient, friendly staff. Food was served nice and hot, and delicious. Nice wine, too. Look forward to exploring more of the menu!

I have been eating here for 30+ years. Quality has never dropped. Service has always been A1. Whether it's a sit on or take away, you are guaranteed only the best. Fish and chips are 2nd to none. The fact that this has been on the go for so long is testemant to its success.

Iv ordered food to takeaway and had dinner in restaurant. Their food is fantastic. Never had any complaints. Service is good and staff are all friendly. They make you feel at home. Nothing is a problem. Will definitely be back.

Greenock is an industrial port well west of Glasgow. It isn't the sort od place you'd want to go for a holiday... walking around the town on a cold, wet Monday or Tuesday evening in the winter is a fairly grim experience, with few places open and fewer looking very welcoming. Arlecchinos is a little oasis of charm. When We ate there on this occassion myself and my colleague were the only two there, but the staff were able to be enthusiastic and attentive. The food is Italian, more tending towards pizzas and pasta than authentic gourmet, but well cooked and very reasonably priced with a few interesting items on thd menu. Bottles of wine vary around the £15 to £17 range for something quite drinkable. There isn't much atmosphere in an empty restaurant, but I can image it is quite a nice place to be at the weekend with a few more people and the candles lit. Recommended.

this restaurant has been family run for many years its the Children and grandchildren who are running the restaurant now always kept the standards high the food is delicious and still done the way the generations taught them lovely family and will make you anything even if not on the menu may need to be ordered in advance very friendly and even the take away is superb too if you are working or wanting a pick nic along the Esplanade or water front familys solo great for who or what ever try it you will not be disappointed

Had my nieces 21in here very nice and relaxing restaurant food really nice and a great variety of food good service and friendly service very nice for a night out and a family gathering. Lovely

My friend and I had a lovely meal last night , veg soup and chicken pepper starters very good although the star of the show was the rump steak & pasta dish . I am a regular visitor to this family run restaurant and recommend for everything from a bacon roll to 3 course meal . Always reasonably priced and lovely staff !

My husband and I decided to have a meal out and had not made a booking. We were immediately found a small table in the main restaurant even though it was very busy. The staff were very pleasant and said we could move to a bigger table when one became free. As soon as one became free we were offered to move and we were pleased to take up their offer. The meal was served very attractively and was delicious. The staff were very attentive and efficient without being intrusive. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant and will definitely go again.

Thank you to the Arlecchino restaurant for a lovely evening. Party of 12 adults and 3 children to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday. Staff were very friendly right from the start of our evening. Food was lovely enjoyed by all and served at the same time for everyone, hate it when it comes in stages and one person eating while others wait. A great night and no complaints from anyone. We went in for a evening meal. Decided to go for something off their main menu and not their early evening menu. We both went for steak, my husband went for the plain sirloin steak with the mushrooms onion rings and chips. I decided to go for an Italian take on steak, it was sliced and came with goats cheese and roasted peppers and courgettes, and chips. The goats cheese was delicious as it had melted through the vegetables and the steak. The service was very quick and the staff could not do enough to make us well come and asked us if we needed anything else. After paying the bill they even phoned a taxi for us and said good evening and they hoped to see us again. Thourghly enjoyed the evening out and plan to go back for my birthday in November.

Went with my mother and two boys. Both boys absolutely loved the authentic pizzas. I had a sizzling chicken dish which was also lovely. Mother's fish and chips were quite cold although she didn't mention it until the waitress was clearing away. As an 80+ year old, she doesn't like to make a fuss. My only criticism is that it was clear my mother couldn't eat the dinner, so the waitress should have offered some retribution when my mother told her the food was cold. Hence 4 stars and not 5.....

We ate here on a Monday night in September with friends who lived nearby. The menu looked very extensive and looked as if it would have something to suit all tastes. Sadly the quality of the Italian food served did not really meet our expectation, starter of meatballs that had been reheated and lacked any herbs as for the pizza, the dough was old or hadn’t been allowed to rise so was like cardboard and flavour was lacking beyond the cheese. On the plus side our friends enjoyed their meal which was from the British section of the menu.Would I visit again No, but I know others who would, all down to personal preference, if you are after genuine Italian food a trip further into Glasgow may be needed.

We have been to several Italian cities recently and in the West of Scotland, if you want a real Italian pizza outside of The Merchant City in Glasgow, this is one of the best.

I've been going to this place for almost 30 years. I'm afraid this will be the last time, I've said it before but this time I mean it. The chips used to be the best in greenock! Not anymore! They taste like they've been blanched way too many times. And fried in old oil. I didn't have a burger this time but the last time I had one it was awful, very thin and dry and lacking in flavour. So reluctantly I'll not be back, unless they improve their quality substantially.

Just ordered a take away from here pasta and garlic bread the garlic bread was burnt to a crisp and stale my mother in law order liver bacon and onion and it's was thrown together like a dogs dinner the liver was disgusting and like rubber will never be back here again this isn't the first time we've had this issue but thought we would give it another go but will never be returning

We have been going to this restaurant for years (it is always great, good Italian food and nice staff). A few weeks ago we used their catering service for our daughter's communion, Arlecchino catered for 30 people, the food was piping hot and ready to pick at at the agreed time, and was delicious. We would recommend for parties.

We have been going to this family owned restaurant for years and have always loved the food. We popped in tonight and were lucky to get a table. Two of our group ordered from the early evening menu for £12.95 (£2 supplement for steak) and were amazed at the size and quality of the food. Their starters of fried potatoes, black pudding, mushrooms and a poached egg were fab, followed by an amazing rump steak with caramelised onion mash, green beans and roasted peppers which tasted wonderful. My friend and I shared a freshly made focaccia with rosemary and while my friend had delicious macaroni cheese I have an amazing sizzle chicken with spicy rice and their famous chips. The others shared a lovely carafe of Italian red wine and the whole bill came to £61.00. Along with a lovely atmosphere and great service what more can you ask for. There's a reason this restaurant has been flourishing for years, you can't beat good quality. We will be back!

This has been in the same family for years in fact 30+ I'd say so if you want either a carry out meal ( fish and chips ) which I would recommend or sit in for a coffee or a meal very reasonable prices and plenty of room. The meals are terrific and well worth a visit

I'm a regular visitor and always found the food to be of a high quality and reasonably priced. The restaurant is larger than would appear from the entrance on West Blackhall Street - it opens up to a fairly large area at the rear. Wide ranging choice food, especially the Italian dishes (hardly surprising). House wines are very good but the Montepulciano is superb. Try it.Best to go early in the evening as (I think) the restaurant closes at 9pm. However, the carry out facility is open later - very good too.

I have been to this place many times (the carry-out part ) over the years and never had a bad meal. The chips are a little different to other chip shops you would have to go and get some yourself to see what I mean. This place supplied food for our oldest son's holy communion last year and made up large portions of lasagne & macaroni cheese & steak pie & chips. All food was excellent - especially the macaroni !

This is a lovely restaurant, staff are polite and pleasant, but mostly and importantly the food, cannelloni is superb and if you're really hungry and not fussed about pasta the mixed grill is massive and well worth the money. I dont choose cannelloni anywhere else as it just wouldn't make the grade. Lovely surroundings and overall a delightful place to eat. AAA+++
