Made In Italy in Inverclyde

Arrived - no acknowledgement of us from girl working here - found our seats ourselves , then had to go get a menu - got the impression the girl just couldn’t be bothered- baby in a pram in kitchen then in girls arms madness when serving hot food and drinks - ordered a focaccia and two cakes - focaccia was ok but pretty tasteless - cakes rubbish - my cake was like rubber - mentioned on way out - was refunded for cake - the girl mentioned something about it being frozen and not coming up to temp or something along those lines - didn’t think place was very well ran - by time we left another child older behind counter on a phone - not the place for children - used to be great place before taken over - wouldn’t go back again

Gorgeous authentic Italian cooking...definable be back x Even better that we could go to Sainsburys across the street to buy our own wine!

I'd imagine this could be a really good place to spend time however the owners seem more concerned about their own mobile phone calls than the experience of customers. I attended with a friend for coffee/snack and we had to sit for a period of time of around 10 mins with the owner and staff in the customer seating area on a very loud phone call (speaker at full volume) with his family in Italy. Note there are only 4 tables in the store. We couldn't hold our own conversation as the family chat was so loud. We had to leave and were charged in full for our drinks and snack with no apology from staff - very poor service when there is plenty of choice in Gourock for coffees etc. There is an office area at the back of the kitchen - that should have been the place for the call!

Couple, lunch time, during the week. Slow service, pizza was ok, pasta wasn’t very good. Child in the kitchen - unsanitary.

Well well well. First of all the staff were very unhelpful and made you feel unwelcome; one member of staff in particular was extremely unfriendly (tall fella with a slight english accent). The order was wrong the pizza was undercooked, i could go on… Don’t come here. Go to Tonino’s instead.

My husband I arrived on time for our meal 6.30pm last Sat 26th and we ordered our food while waiting we opened our wine and a bit a queue started to form outside for takeaway, after 45 mins I went to the counter and asked why we didn't have our food and the owner said they were very busy I said I understand that but we were here before these customers outside arrived and we were very hungry so she told me I could leave very rudely the other 2 tables also waiting were quite shocked, I would have left but on a Sat night we wouldn't have got a table anywhere nearby, definitely won't be back also the week before we were charged £10 extra but we let it go

My daughter and I went for morning coffee and a cake. It was sooo good we took our partners for evening meal - amazing - what a lovely person the owner is he was taking everything in his stride but was really really busy preparing all his tasty authentic Italian food - yummy 😄

This is ammmmazing. We gt a capacinno, soft drink and 2 pizza slices for 8.50. The staff are awesome. Best pizza ever. Lovely little place with lovely toilet. We sat outside with sea view. Can not thank and recommend enough 🤩

Made in Italy took payment for my delivery the morning after they had not delivered it. I complained to Clyde eats, to which Made in Italy replied saying I call all the time complaining about the food. Well that is just pathetic, why would I have ordered every Friday for the family if the food was bad, the food is good, but the customer service and behaviour of the business is awful. They have a bad attitude and I wouldn't recommend anyone to risk placing an order incase they steal your money. Must be very desperate for cash, I know things are difficult for businesses but you cant take money and not deliver goods.

This place is a great addition to Gourock. It may be small but the food is wonderful and there is a good selection of options. The service is great with staff recognising guests from the second visit. As an option for a light but tasty lunch, it’s nice. Ijust wish it was a little larger as there are only about 6 tables inside. A table towards the door allows you to watch as the Italian gentleman works up all the pizzas. All the staff are really friendly, the Italian speaking lady is a whirlwind of service with a smile. Both the bruschetta and the Parma ham ciabatta were delicious, so much so I was back two weeks later for more of the same. The ciabatta especially oozed warm cheese and Parma ham and was exceptional. There were a few “non stereo-typically Italian” options but why would you go to an Italian restaurant and not eat Italian? For me they didn’t interest as much as the cannoli, the warm pizza and the lighter snacks. A lot of the options were things that are best served fresh and hot, so eating in was my preferred option. I will happily return, but could struggle to make myself pick any other option rather than the warm ciabatta (even although there are lots of lovely options).

Undoubtedly the worst carbonara ever eaten and I've ordered Asda yellow label, pasta dry, flavourless and the pork belly does NOT work in a pasta, unless the goal is to kill people when they choke on lumps of hidden fat. Cut out the pig fat, season your food and for crying out loud add some sauce in future.

We ordered takeaway pizzas to collect - definitely the worst pizzas we have ever eaten. Basically they were raw pizza dough with a tin of tomatoes thrown on top and some random toppings - most toppings completely different from what we ordered. We sadly didn’t look inside the takeaway box when we collected the pizzas - when we got home we threw the pizzas in the bin.

Made in Italy Inverkip, sausage and chips ordered, not one chip was edible, absolutely disgusting. 3rd time ordering from here, first time it was cold, 2nd time lukewarm, tonight this disaster, will never be back again and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

We popped in for lunch around 1pm, ordered a pepperoni pizza and a couple of coffees. Welcome was nice and friendly, was only 1 other table occupied when we arrived but within 10 minutes all tables were full. The pizza came quite quickly and was absolutely delicious, the addition of a few red jalapeños gave the pizza just a little extra kick. The coffee was just ok, a little bitter for my taste, it was like a very dark roast, drinkable but I prefer a medium roast. On our way out we had a nice chat to the lady that I presume is the owner. Overall we were impressed and will definitely be back again. Highly recommend the pizza.

Excellent Italian food, the lasagna was truly amazing. The staff is also very friendly and it’s a lovely place to have a good time with your friends !

Ordered 4 pizzas via the telephone for Xmas lunch in our office. Sally very kindly took my order and phoned to say that they were in the oven so that they would be super fresh when they were ready for collection. Pizzas were piping hot and absolutely delicious. My colleague said her pepperoni was the nicest she had ever eaten. We will definitely be back for sure.
