Argentinian Grill in Croydon

My friend ordered a medium rare steak and it turned out to be blue and we know our steak, and when returned they tried telling us it was medium rare when it was basically mooing at us. My chicken arrived and I bit into it and I’ve never felt so sick, it was still clucking at me. Asked multiple people around me if it was raw and they all agreed it was. I took it back to ask for a refund and the lady there started getting really offended and ripping it apart saying it wasn’t raw when there was clearly raw meat and bones in it. A nice security guard came over and also redeemed it was raw and enforced a refund as well as the manager of box park. Absolutely disgusted, never returning here.

First time ordering here tonight (England v Greece) and WOW the burger and chips was absolutely devine + reasonably priced! Wait time was quite long but to be expected on match days, cant wait to return here. Thank you 😋

Waited 25 minutes for some basic sides as snacks - staff said it was our problem due to the wait as their internal internet wasn’t working and we should have come sooner so needed to wait. Refused a refund due to time constraints as “didn’t know how” and then proceeded to verbally abuse in Spanish to a colleague. Reported to box park management who were nothing but helpful so no reflection on them, but the GM of the Argentinian grill establishment should be ashamed. Ordered from Poptata street fries instead - great food and service

Garbage!!! I ordered medium rare steak and it was so overcooked I might as well have been eating my work boots. Chips were clammy and jaundiced- about the only thing that was acceptable was the bread. Never again- unless I pop in to order the same and then ask what their understanding of 'Rare' is

The burger wasn't that great, and while the menu says burgers are served with fries, the cashier charges you an extra 1.5 pounds for fries.

A portion off rice is missing from the order. Food came cold. Chips soggy as the steak was place on top. The salad isn’t rocket it’s iceberg lettuce. Haven’t eaten it.

Have ordered from here multiple times for the past couple of months but will not be returning as recently they have started to take the p*ss, not listening to simple order requests such as 'takeaway and no salad please'. Portion sizes have gone down considerably over time (see photos) and most recently today despite my order request, salad was included and there's even more salad than there is steak. Have made a complaint to Boxpark directly and now I understand why this vendor has such poor reviews compared to the others at Boxpark Croydon.

Amazing steak and very very helpful and accommodating staff. Could not finish my meal due to dental issues but would recommend and return

Not sure why the reviews for this place are so low, I’m a huge fan of the food! I’ve tried the wings, steak sandwich and lamb loin several times and really enjoyed them. Price is a little steep and has changed since the first time I came, though.

I asked for rice and they sent me chips which wasn’t what I asked for.

Erm. Portions were good, sauces were tasty, but the meat left a lot to be desired - had to send back the wings as they were barely cooked (needless to say my stomach is now upset) the second lots were charred and still not fully cooked at the bone. Health and safety aside the ribs were fatty and dull, the steak was tough. Apart from that I had a wonderful birthday lunch, thanks guys!!

The Don Diablo Sandwich was a salt bomb. This had the potency to kill a horde of snails and slugs so you can imagine it was inedible. Thankfully, the staff made another for me after resolving the confusion that my sandwich was not too spicy but too salty.

should of checked reviews before i ordered. steak was very tough and tasteless. ordered one steak medium rare and one medium and both were well done and chewy. the portion of chips was laughable. won’t be back 👎🏼

Accepted my order as they were closing waited 30mins then they said oh we aren't open. Why are you accepting orders and charging people when they are closed! Absolutely disgusting no customer service

AVOID THIS PLACE. Doors were open, lights were on. We ordered through the Boxpark QR Code and the order was processed and we waited for 25 minutes before heading back to the shop only to be told that they were closed. They had no intention of refunding us, just shutting and leaving with our money. The staff were rude and unapologetic, and only refunded us when we demanded it. Never waste your time or money here.

The food has really gone down hill. Steak thin, chewy & cold . Chorizo not pre sliced and tough to cut through and not nice taste. Think this was all pre frozen . Ribs also fatty . Have eaten here many times before but not again - they need a re-think , something has gone wrong here .

Had the burger and chips it was very tasty. The chips were a little greasy for my liking but still very nice. The deal did seem a bit pricey at £16 but then compared to other burger chains it was about right.

Ordered the chicken & rib mixed grill. After 20 mins (everyone else’s food came from the other box park providers in 10), it was the wrong order (beef grill). He apologised and said he would remake. After another 20 minutes, I collected dried out chicken wings and ribs. When I showed him the photo of the marinaded ribs & wings, he got out two bottles of sauce and squirted them over the meat. Then I reminded him he forgot the chimi churi. The meat was cold. I’m not a fussy eater, but trash food and trash service.

Told order would be delivered. Wasn’t - had to chase arrived over 2 hrs from order. Cold and pretty sure it had been sitting waiting on the side somewhere. Won’t order again. No stars…

Used to come here when first opened, steak was tender and tasty. Not sure what's happened but my 2nd try in 3months as steak has been really tough. Staff also not the best at taking orders or familiar with menu. A shame but will be my last steak from here.

Last time eating here. Meat not cooked to the point (medium). The middle of it was well done and the edges were rare, almost blue. Also cold, despite just being made. How is that even possible? Chewy, basic salad. Only saving grace was the sauce, but overall pretty bad.

The steak was as tough as boot leather. There was hardly any chorizo, none of the spicy one. Absolutely vile. Very disappointing

We ordered the £10 Lunch deal 🥩 Steak with 🍟 plus 🍹. It was good but it was not tender, it’s like a bubble gum, if you order, just ask to slice it smaller and it’s easier to chew… the chimichurri sauce was really good. All I can think why the meat was so hard, it’s Bec it’s a meal deal. Maybe if we ordered the different steaks not on the deal, it would have been tender. But I’m still coming back.

Ordered a half chicken with chips and salsa meal. Chicken was cold. Waiter reheated. Food was still warm with too much sauce. Discussed with the waiter and they offered me another meal. Didn’t want to risk it!! So said no.

Amazing food, I got the chicken and ribs meal for one and it was so tender and flavourful, not particularly spicy but it was definitely made up for by the flavour and the chicken was SUPER tender and juicy. Fries were also super good and they didn't skimp on portion size. Definitely a good eat

First time eating Argentinian food. I had the Churrasco stake with Chimichurri sauce. To be honest it was just North American food the only thing that made it different was the sauce. It was nice the staff was very friendly and they cooked the stake as instructed.

Avoid- ordered half chicken, and instead got one wing and couple of cuts of breast- AKA not half a chicken, barely a quarter. Rice was dry, salad was basic. Wouldn't come back. The other reviews are true unfortunately

We went to try this restaurant for the first time. We ordered Chicken sandwiches and chicken salad. All was fresh and delicious. The staff who served us was very nice and friendly. It’s a small restaurant but food was good and atmosphere was great as well

Visited for the first time last night. Really enjoyed the mix grill for 1. Will be back!

We ordered and paid 2 beef empanadas together with mixed ribs/chicken wings grilled and chimichurri sauce. We only got 1 empanada, although the other was charged; the empanada was micro-size and the taste is not even close to a real empanada, the ribs were bone and fat, no meat, btw everything was cold. I wouldn't recommend, sorry.

Taste is ok. Chicken sandwich was quite dry as there was barely any chimichurri. Service took 25 mins (for one sandwich and fries). I should’ve gone to the falafel stand next door tbh

we went there and got two BQQ full rack ribs. when we got home and tried it, the ribs were hard and flavourless. The portion of fries was small and they were dry as if it was cooked a long time ago and the salad was literally full of salad leafs. A 0 /10 experience. I dont recomend this place at all

I hate leaving bad reviews but the food was yucky. Really really yucky. The staff seemed nice but if I wake up tomorrow with the squits it won’t be surprised at all.

Probably the worst burger I've ever had. No seasoning and had a fishy after taste.

Waited half an hour inside box park for food before they decided to refund as were closing early we were sat right by the place and they didn’t even come out and say anything just let us wait for so long. Terrible service would no recommend and definitely not return 3-5 days for refund now

The food was amazing, but the cheap, flimsy plastic cutlery doesn't cut it when eating steak. I snapped 3 forks and didn't even try to use a knife.

I am very disappointed with the customer service. The woman that served us was extremely rude. Firstly we ordered 4 Chicken burgers and chips £49. They then put bacon (pork) in the burgers. I explained because of our faith pork is a no no. They offered to take out the bacon and give us back the burgers. What??????? Obviously I refused. This resulted in the lady to start venting her anger at us causing embarrassment. She then continued her verbal abuse in her language. Your so called fantastic service with love from Argentina is not welcomed in the UK. I’m still waiting for my money back Frustrated customer.

Where do I start.... OK, so we ordered chicken burgers but didn't realise that the chicken burgers had pork in, it was stated on the menu above where the burgers are listed but we didn't see it until it was pointed out to us. Most establishments in Croydon make it clear when pork is on the menu and don't have it in the small print. However, we have noticed our burgers have pork and explained that we didn't know and we don't eat pork. We apologised that it wasn't clear to us. The lady (if I can even call her that) was extremely rude about it and took the food back, she said she would make it again but slammed down the vibrating fob device on the counter. I'm not sure about others but I don't like to eat from anyone who has bad vibes toward me. I do not have confidence my food will be made with care, so I asked for a refund instead. I then went to a lovely Turkish restaurant where the owner was intent on making sure his customers were happy. Just what I expect when parting with my hard earned cash!

For the first time I didn’t check the reviews and tried the place that made me feel bad. I ordered salad with steak. The food looks was okay but the taste was so disgusting. The meat was not cooked and some parts completely red!!! Meat without any taste and hard to cut and eat.

Food was OK but the 40 min wait for a sandwich is far too long after being repeated told 10-15 mins top is the real killer. I would avoid this place unless you have lots of time and patience.

--Argentinian Grill Wembley-- Time ago was a nice place to eat a steak but not anymore, portions are not the same and prices went up a little. One day i ordered 2 sirloin steak, one of them i forgot to ask to make it well done because my wife was pregnant, i went back with the tray and after i explained the situation i asked if it's ok to cook it a little more. Insted they made another sirloin even more raw than the previous one... I asked again nicely "please can you cook this steak well done?" The lady watched me in the eyes and tossed the steak away, than asked if i want a refund instead of cooking it a little more... So rude

The worst customer service - you just stand there they don’t even look at your friendly - waiting over 30 min for my food and they got it wrong and diddnt even care. So many other nice restaurants to eat at in box park I would avoid this one!

First time trying it out yesterday. Food was great! We ordered steak and beef burger. Could’ve been 5 stars if the girl from till only knew BASIC customer service! Loads of attitude, only interested in flirting with the guy in the kitchen! No hi, hello, bye. Even rolled her eyes when we approached to order! It’s such a shame, food is actually not bad, but customer service is non existent. Not coming back.

Flavour of chips and burger were nice, but make sure you order extra chips because the portions are very very small. I asked if what they had served me was the normal portion size and they said yes with confidence. So, I made sure I ate slowly not to finish them too fast. Also, make sure you tell them how you want your burger done because they don't ask. Mine was pink in the middle but I prefer my burgers well done. I didn't bother sending it back.

The guy in the kitchen preparing the food is extremely rude and very very slow service. Snapped and had a lot of attitude when i asked when should i return to pick up my food. Food was average. Will probably not recommend to my friends nor will i return.

Gave this place a couple chances, too bad they couldn't follow through. The food smells nice but the steak was chewy and the chicken was dry and burnt. Also the flavour profile of the marinade was very unpalatable. Save your money.

The food here is a disgrace, as a chef myself i am embarrassed for them, this quality of food should not be allowed anywhere. They do not care about the food you can tell. I am even expecting to be sick in the morning! It came cold and the meat was sooo over cooked i spent 5 minutes chewing my first bite... i almost choked on a bit of fat.... My wife's steak was poorly seasoned, badly cooked and lacked any flavour. I am appalled!!!!!!

Out of the 4 times I've eaten here, 3 of those I've gotten the wrong sides. Why would you give the option to select sides when fries are always the default? I always want their rice and is a lottery of I get it or not.

Food was ok, but the cashier girl was crazily slow and she doesn't understand English. Made 2 wrong orders and she claimed she has issued the refund but I did not receive anything. The man in the shop also confirmed the refund would come. Absolute scam.

I've eaten here very regular recently. The Staff are lovely and food is fantastic. The prices are very reasonable. I would go as far as saying it is the best place to eat, not only in The Box park but the whole of Wembley. I can say this with experience as I have eaten from virtually every establishment in Wembley.

Located in the Box Park food court adjacent to E. Croydon Station, this rustic-themed outlet served me a decent steak sandwich and fries for £8. The panini-style sandwich contained a reasonably-sized (1/4") slab of beefsteak, cooked properly to a pale pink, and layered with some greens. However, I found the steak inexplicably lacking flavour. The blandness of the sandwich was balanced by a copious supply of French fries, which were first-rate. Overall, a quick but satisfying meal.

Awesome steak sarnie in ciabatta with a gorgeous sauce. Will be back! Recommend

Being a local hotspot for us. We went out and tried the Argentinian Grill Root, their food was delicious, to say the least, and well worth a try. The only downfall was the price, it would have been nice if it was reasonable, as it made us chew the steak a little longer 🤔 (I guess) Boxpark and Croydon are up and coming, go visit, especially as it's next door to East Croydon station, which has excellent connections in and out of the city. We give it A**** LDT x
