I don’t like to give 1 star to a restaurant but I can’t either lie about something I didn’t like ,I order a noodle ,a rice ,prawn ,chicken balls mix vegetables ,I put 50 percent from the food in the rubbish 😞,the rest i eat because I was super hungry but no worry’s I will not order again for sure ,good luck anyway

Ordered from Ubereats - quarter duck with pancakes and pork dumplings. Food was okay. Nothing special. Not even sure why Ubereats suggested this place as its not even close to where I live... wouldn't reorder for that reason. I've also had better elsewhere.

Massive disappointment. Takeaway only, despite advertising itself as a restaurant. Unfriendly staff. We walked in to try the the place, and walked out never to return; we have plenty of better takeaways nearer to us offering better food and service.

I popped in on Friday 23rd June, having had a long day and trip from Kent, recalling they had quite good food from previous experience which was a while ago now. I asked if I could sit with a view to eating as I hadn't eaten all day and the young man said yes without clarity if an eat-in service or not. My food arrived in a takeaway pack. I asked for cutlery and the woman who brought it over brushed me aside saying she doesn't have cutlery and offered me plastic. Exhaustion and hunger overrode my increasing uneasiness. Soon later, I noticed the woman and young man watching almost as if to hurry me out, I asked if it was closing time to which I was reassured not. Soon after the woman sat in a table by the wall with another man with a meal using REAL cutlery. My appetite dissolved as I saw them, unable to mask my disapproval I voiced this and the young man apologised saying they don't offer eat-in but it was ok to sit with my takeaway. Their service that night was very disappointing, the vibe emitted was completely negative, unwelcoming and completely unexpected as I had not experienced this before. I will not be visiting them again and cannot recommend it if excellent service is paramount although I acknowledge the food quality was unquestionable.

What can I say. The noodles and rice were ok. Our chicken balls, crispy shredded beef. Salt and chilli squid and prawns were all disgusting dark brown cooked in old oil. Our chips were grey. The curry sauce was burnt. Salt and pepper ribs were bland. No seasoning at all. It was a total disaster. Not my first time ordering but will most certainly be my last. I asked for 50% of my money back which I thought was a fair compromise they struggled to compromise and insisted they could only give me £30 after spending over £80. Usually have a lot of family round when we order from here and we always spend well over £100 each time. Chinese is not cheap these days but not only are their prices hiked up, they are now delivering inedible poor quality food. How that left their restaurant in the first place is beyond me. They offered to cook it fresh but if you can cook a better batch my question is, how the hell did it manage to be sent out in the poorest of quality in the first place. Basically trying to take advantage of customers if they can get away with it! My photos are of chicken balls, the driest rock hard crispy shredded beef (I’ve eaten softer twiglets) and what is meant to be squid.

Who refuses a toilet to a pregnant woman? Disgusting.

I used to order here very regularly, and the food was mostly good - in particular their sweet and sour dishes. This time it was awful, to the point of being unpleasant to eat, and I'm wondering whether the restaurant has changed ownership as the dishes were certainly not as remembered. The sweet and sour dishes were bland, and one clearly was not cooked fresh - the batter had been soaking so long it has turned grey and mushy. Both had a slight off bitter taste too, the cause of which became clear when I tried the pot of sweet and sour sauce for dipping. It was absolutely disgusting, not sweet, and a much stronger bitterness. Inedible. The other dishes were bland but ok/wouldn't complain about but weren't the same dishes I had ordered in the past - different ingredients, colours, styles etc. Something significant has changed and quality has enormously slipped, beyond acceptably for the admittedly low-ish price point. I hope if ownership has not changed, the drop in standards is addressed, as I see from other reviews I'm not the only one disappointed.

Sadly having to say, the food we ordered wasn't very good, which we've found to be very good in the past.. egg fried rice, colourful brown too much sauce added but found no eggs in at all..chicken balls half tasted & looked like double cooked, & others not cooked enough, small spring rolls quite empty.. we deserve a freshly cooked one as half went into our bin.. delivered in half the time expected..

Actually not sure why the bad reviews - I find the owners are friendly and the takeaway is of a decent quality taking into account the price. I’d recommend for sure.

I had to return the Singapore Noodles because it was too salty. On return they replaced it. When I took it home it had hardly any meat - mostly noodles. Called the following day asked to speak to the manager, the woman who takes the orders said the manager was not there and promptly hung up the phone. Shame, as there food is normally quite nice,

If I could give zero stars I would. Food is not fresh and smells awful. They sent the wrong items and I called to complain and the lady hung up the phone on me, tried to call back and they wouldn't answer, what happened to the customer is always right? I literally threw everything in the bin because I wasn’t going to eat it after all that. I would avoid at all cost. I'm looking into escalating this further to Croydon Council or whoever because they shouldn't be allowed to be serving food in such manner.

This restaurant gave my order to the Uber driver, the Uber driver never delivered the food to my house and I tried getting in concat with the restaurant 3 times and they never picked up the Uber driver was from Uber eats I don’t recommend you guys getting food from this place just because of how unprofessional they all are

Extremely rude and disgusting owners. They’ll be rude to you in their native tongue and hang up on you even if you are a trusted customer. Customer service skills suck.

Got a late night order , didn’t know what to expect .... absolutely brilliant , really tasty , generous portions and fast service.. highly recommend:)

On 12/2/21 - Ordered food at 7:45 - with a delivery time of 8:30. Time came and went with no update from restaurant for 20mins. Update was demanded via JustEat app. Restaurant then claimed a delay stating that its on its way to arrive at 9pm. That time also came and went and I never received my order. The restaurant not only never delivered my food but also refused to refund my money back. Food was ordered via JustEat who have been made aware of the situation and will be investigating the reasons for this Disgustingly Poor business practice. I eagerly await for the results of said investigation. Order at your own risk - if I could give it 0.25 of a star I would.

Bad customer service driver went wrong address and when I called restaurant thee lady hung up on me

Don’t order from here they gave me old food that wasn’t fresh looked like it was there for weeks my special fried rice had something weird inside that. Look like snake won’t recommend this is the worst Chinese I have ever had in my life . Avoid they should be. CLose down immediately this place is a disgrace please don’t order from this nasty place absolutely shocking if I can rate them 0 I will close them down immediately

Avoid ! The food arrived very quickly and it did not taste fresh. The fried squid was stuck together, the mushrooms in the mixed vegetables dish were not cooked and a hair was in my food. Only dish that was ok were the mock duck pancakes. I had to throw most of it away to avoid having a dodgy belly ! I wish I could get a refund as it was highly disappointing!

Best salt and chilli prawns I have EVER had ... I am quite fussy and regularly so disappointed. This was my first meal order through deliveroo from New Moon and I will definately Be ordering from here again !!! Thank you New Moon , Money well spent

Would not recommend to anyone. Very poor service. Deliberately sold me the wrong vegetable and had to give me a refund. Sold me mushroom rice but it was actually special fried with chicken and eggs that I am allergic to!

Horrible customer service, received the wrong order i called to request the correct order I was told on the phone that the drivers are busy so I should keep the food and I will be able to receive two free items at a later date. I asked the person to make a note of this on my file on the system he said he would. I then called back 4 days later to claim my free items and they said they know nothing about this and also refused to refund my money for the order they got wrong in the first place. If I could give them no stars I would.

I would rate a 0 but I can't so i will rate a one. The restaurant is dirty saw insects, food was greasy and made me sick. Never again I do not recommend.

I've been vegan for a while, ordered tofu in black bean sauce, and found a bit of chicken in it, only a tiny shred, but the fact is i now feel disrespected having seen this in a meal that's supposed to at least be vegetarian, such poor attention to detail, ordered a few times, food's always been o.k., but last time their soup tasted funny but i gave them the benefit of the doubt, seeing this, never again.

Absolutely disgusting Croydon needs to shut this Chinese shop down they don't wash their hands in between fingernails full of dirt. I ordered chicken chow mein and special fried rice the rice was so hard and the noodles smell gone off.

DO NOT GO HERE. Very poor service and food was absolutely awful. There was missing items in the delivery and they refused to bring the missing items.

We ordered from this restaurant as they were the most affordable within our locality on Just Eat. Unfortunately the website wouldn't process our payment so we phoned them directly and, once we had explained what a green curry was to the person who answered, we placed an order for delivery which was accepted and agreed to pay the driver. Unfortunately just 5 minutes later they phoned back to tell us that as we are 4 miles away they were cancelling our order. They had already increased the delivery fee from the £1.50 on Just Eat to £3 however we didn't grumble at this as the food was very reasonably priced, but understandably we were very annoyed to have an order accepted and then cancelled. We explained that we came under the catchment area of their listing, we were confused by this, and asked to speak with the manager who had cancelled the order. After putting us on hold for a minute or so, we were told that the manager doesn't take calls because she doesn't speak English. Very frustrated - our money has now gone to the competion!

This is my local chinese takeaway of choice. The food is good and the service quite quick. They are always nice to my children as well.

Atrocious behaviour from management. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!! The order for delivery was incorrect came without the rice that was ordered. Was told that would get free rice next time, however this had been already paid for via debit card which was disputed. Was then told the rice would be sent, after an hour still no rice. Contacted them back where the manager would not take the Call, was hung up on. Called back being refused my money back on my card unless I go to the shop myself when I initially paid via card upon delivery. I am appalled...disgusting treatment. If you know what is good for you...avoid the stress of ordering from here. Bloody robbery...

Ordered food for delivery, when it came the crispy shredded beef was soo dry with no sauce whatsoever! Called them up for them to tell me, they are not sending me another one as they are busy & that I should go to them!! When I told them no, the lady hung up the phone!!! No apology or willingness to rectify there mistake! Worst place & even worse customer service!! If i could leave zero stars I would. They took my money & delivered really poor food & really bad service.. New Moon Chinese is the WORST!!!!

Had sit in meal a few weeks ago and like it very much and now I have just had a takeaway from there and just as good (well done) guys

Placed my order at 8:20.got a text at 8:45 to say it was enroute.food arrives at almost 10 with no rice.they offer me 20% off my next order.honestly I will be ordering elsewhere next time which is a shame as the food is always good but recently there seem to be problems not the first time I've waited nearly 2 hours for my order.

Chinease is one of my favourite take aways and the food quality at new moon is way below average here. Much prefer Yau’s Orential delight just a couple mins away 👍🏼

I've ordered and had food from this restaurant in the past and it's been great. Today however my order was wrong but once I called the restaurant they rectified and redelivered my order. (The staff were very helpful and polite) The spring rolls were cold and upon cutting open one of my chicken wings it was still bloody inside. I wish I could attach a picture. Needless to say it's unlikely I'll be ordering from here again which is a shame.

That was a bizarre experience. I ordered a soup that costs £2.40, but because I ate it at their place I had to pay 50p extra! As if they don't want you to be there. They don't know what they want to be. The place looks like a restaurant, but there's a foil on tables in case you spill something on it.

Had to wait 2 hours for my order on Valentine’s Day. Food not good. Wouldn’t order again

I ordered 4 things. Crispy seaweed, char sui pork buns, smoked shredded chicken and satay sauce. DO NOT GET THE CHAR SUI PORK BUNS they were genuinely the worst I have ever had. They were rock hard like when you reheat something in the microwave for too long which as far as I am aware is impossible to do if they had actually been steamed. Completely inedible. However the rest was fine and tasted good, the satay sauce was extremely oily, it had pool of oil on the top of the lid before you even opened It, however it tasted very nice. All in all middling but fine affair that I would get again except the char sui buns which I wouldn't touch with a barge pole unless maybe I wanted a cracked tooth for some odd reason.

Ordered food online through just eat. Constantly called as we waited over 2 hours for food delivery despite the restaurant being 9 minutes away. No apology given. Worse customer service I have ever experienced. We ended up having to take all the kids in the car to drive to the restaurant. I will never order here again.

I normally don't mind the takeaway, it's fairly standard but I ordered some dumplings last night and the filling was horrifically raw ... not slightly underdone, it was red raw filling. I wanted to make sure that it wasn't my mistake so I cooked one and cut it open to compare, the cooked one is grey inside as you would expect from cooked meat ... not red raw and soft. Never ever again.

Horrible customer service tonight.I call to place an order and ask if I can pay with my card. They told me yes, but just 10 seconds after they tell me is an extra charge of 50p. When I tell them that is not a problem then they tell me that I can't pay with my card after 11pm. They tell me is £9 and I accept to pay in cash. 2 minutes later they call me back to tell me that they won't deliver because is less than £10. I told them that I will pay the £10 and then they tell me that it will be actually £11...is this a joke??? You have lost a good customer mate. Enjoy your food.

I just love their punctuality in delivery. The food is just great.

This is a lovely little intimate place to eat. The food is very well prepared and very tasty. The staff is very helpful, and our party of six had a lovely time indeed and the prices were very reasonable and good value for money. I would highly recommend this restaurant, and we will all visit again soon.

I am very fussy about Chinese food and this is one of the best Chinese takeaways in South London. The vegetarian dishes, especially the tofu dishes, are excellent and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Ordered food Saturday night , spent over thirty pounds on horrible greasy food , i was really suprised by the poor quailty .

Two words....... Hidden gem!!! I drive about 6 miles from home to get food from here. Has a nice sit seating area too and staff very friendly.
